Confirmed on sky absolutely no approach for hearts guy to be our ceo.
Good stuff. We need a big hitter.

And the official best CEO in scotland isn't that?
25 Sep 2024 12:19:38
To be fair, how does anyone on here know who is a good CEO and who isn't? I couldn't have told you who Hearts CEO was and had never heard of Gillespie at St Mirren, but now it's a disaster when we don't get them to some people or a disaster if we do to others.
The wee guy before Bisgrove (Robertson?) was seen as doing a good job at Motherwell, but the job at Rangers seemed to be too big for him. Every one has a right to have an opinion, but this is a business decision and not the signing of a footballer, so we don't really know who would be good or who wouldn't.

Wsl, some people on here may have been a ceo or employed one, so to say no one knows what a good ceo is wrong imo.
Because u don’t know who hearts ceo is or had never knew who Gillespie is suggests u only focus on our club, no issue with that, but many know these people.

Would imagine the "best ceo in Scotland" award on his desk is quite a good indicator.

79 what you on about the best ceo in Scotland award ?.
25 Sep 2024 19:06:01
John, I didn't say no-one on here knows what a good CEO is? I said how does anyone on here know what a good CEO is, it was a question. It may be that some people either are CEOs or have employed one but if so, it will not be very many.
I do keep track of Scottish football not just Rangers but I will confess I'm not interested in board room members at other clubs. I did see McKinlay on SKY today talking about sacking Naismith, but that is the first time I`ve ever seen him put his head above the parapet.
To be honest, I wish the board members at our own club weren't in the news so much because that's always a sign that a club isn't doing well.

Storm there is an award voted for by all CEOs in Scotland as to who they think is the best. A sort of CEO of the year. In the last 3 seasons McKinlay has won twice and the guy from Ross County won the other. not commenting on whether they are good or not but says it all really. Celtic winning lots of trophies, making huge profits and no mention. does that make them the best CEO for our job, difficult to say because as John says I wouldn't know a good CEO if he bought me a round at my local.
26 Sep 2024 12:32:42
John didn't say that, but never mind.

I'm with John on this one having been both a CEO and the Chairman of a Company! Would I want the Rangers Job, absolutely not, not in a month of Sundays.
As far as being 'best in Scotland' was that not in the Charity Sector? There is a big difference in being in a CEO Role or Chairman role at Hearts or St Mirren than being in those roles at Rangers.
We have to go back a long time to find the last quality CEO that was at Rangers, a gentleman by the names of David Homes.
I would like to think that the appointment of a new Chairman would come with new Investment and that the CEO would follow as happened with Lawrence Marlborough and the aforementioned.
I don't personally see a role for Dave King and the Parks Family for me are dinosaurs that will not take the club forward. Likewise, and despite being a sprightly septuagenarian myself I do not see with role being undertaken by Gilligan or anyone else that is over 65 years of age.
I will admit to being a supporter of Bennett who I believed could see us through to new investment, (which incidentally I still believe will happen and from existing shareholders - but not necessarily current Board Members) .
The sooner the changes come into play the better but the time around the AGM looks like a good bet!
