Anyone heard any rumours about king coming back in? The club really is falling apart, we need him in pronto.

Agree15 Disagree0

19 Sep 2024 20:01:37
We don’t need king at all another pure fantasy that he was amazing for us you can add him to the colak, gerrad, hagi and Katic brigade. Oh and shankland how could I forget the messiah.

19 Sep 2024 20:01:48
How's the club falling apart utter bs.

19 Sep 2024 20:10:43
King has called for an EGM and wants 50m investment to help bridge the gap to the other mob.

19 Sep 2024 20:11:06
King is just pandering to the masses at this point, he's making up fantasies about the club needing £50million investment to catch Celtic. Things won't change with him, we can have the investment and still piss it against the wall, we need a solid structure in place not just someone who wants his ego stroked when it suits him.

19 Sep 2024 20:33:09
King would be another step in the wrong direction, therefore wouldn’t be surprised if he came in.

19 Sep 2024 20:38:18
King is not the answer. Lots of untainted businessmen want nothing to do with him.

He has a liking for being in the media spotlight and being the hero savior knight.

19 Sep 2024 20:52:30
We've all got our opinions but for me personally i think he's the man we need back in at this particular time and i believe king has the nous and the bottle to make the decisions needed otherwise our club ain't getting near that other mob for many a year ? Over to everyone to push for change because we're rudderless and going nowhere at this moment in time and someone has to do something and i believe that man is dave king ???.

19 Sep 2024 20:55:11
Let's make it clear king can't call for a EGM as he falls to reach the required support to call for 1. Do we need King to return absolutely to rebuild on the field and off the field off the field we are in a Mess on players there's a few free transfers we could snap up.

19 Sep 2024 20:58:17
Go Dave! Gauntlet laid down.

19 Sep 2024 21:01:16
Youngbblue2001 when he left 1 we were in a better place 2 he had issues to deal with in South Africa his plan was never to be around the club long term he was aiming to be just a fan in his later life.

19 Sep 2024 21:18:46
Sp are you saying we don't need investment? He wants to come in for 2 years and put in place structures you mention.

19 Sep 2024 22:00:50
Dave King is a Rangers shareholder. IF he has 50m of investor money ready to go into the club and has the clubs best intentions at heart then he wouldn't be witholding it for his own intentions.

Talk is cheap. Modern football and busines is about positive relationships and he seems to have a knack for being confrontational and divisive.

19 Sep 2024 22:05:21
He said we need 50m to compete and has criticised the club in the media to anyone who will listen to massage his ego. I'm sure that's really helped Clement and Koppen and the players. I'll judge him by his actions and not his word.

19 Sep 2024 22:06:57
Issues to deal with in South Africa. He was being prosecuted for all forms of financial crimes, including if reporting of the the court case is to be believed fraud, money laundering and racketeering. The judge called his evidence unbelievable (glib and shameless liar) so if he can do that in court, why would anyone believe what he says?

19 Sep 2024 22:13:15
Even if he`s right that we need £50 million then he is setting himself up to fail because we won`t get anyone investing that kind of money. Personally I think he just plucked out the figure Souness used on Talkrubbish . Its a nice figure but no reasoning behind it . Pandering.

19 Sep 2024 22:30:45
50m investment won’t buy players …. FP rules.

19 Sep 2024 22:36:53
Angus. I don't know the outcome, but was he found guilty of any of these 'charges'

20 Sep 2024 00:03:36
King done his job, got his cash back and probably cost us cash with court cases, our board have made an arse of things but he made a few himself.

20 Sep 2024 02:57:26
Gets a bit silly here sometimes with people having a go without doing the research. Kings problems in SA stem from a tax bill. He had a written agreement with the tax authorities for x-amount, they then turned around and demanded 3 times the amount. He decided to fight it and rightly so imho. The courts are not exactly unbiased here, there or anywhere. As for court cases here, King has been practically alone in his willingness to fight on rangers behalf. You can think him decisive and a trouble maker if you like, I don't see him that way. It's not an ego thing, it's a willingness to do the hard stuff and I for one appreciate it. Btw, what's wrong with wanting to safeguard the club and become a rangers hero? People, and no disrespect meant to anyone, seem to be having a go at him for wanting things to improve. I don't get it.

20 Sep 2024 05:35:25
So if a 50 million investment is used to generate some form of revenue stream for our club, you wouldn't take that Lisbon, money generated from that revenue stream could result in investment in the team.

20 Sep 2024 05:56:30
King gets bored etc? His job was done he left the club in a good place they’ve wrecked it completely the appointment of Beale was an astronomical F**K up, I also blame a lot of the fans for Beale as it gathered steam when a rangers legend in gio who just took us to a European final with Gerrards team, and was dealing with a heavy injury crisis was still at the club, and he should have been backed, I think king is the answer, he’ll draw in investment, the Tony bloom investment at hearts is interesting and I wonder why he didn’t look at rangers, because it’s pure toxic at the moment that’s why, our club is on its knees at the moment and that lot are strolling leagues. Making a fortune.

20 Sep 2024 06:53:42
We need a board who support each other with not fighting individuals genuine guys at the helm with genuine abilities too take out team too the next level not a podium too flex there muscles n say I'm bigger n better than you we will only move forward with clear investment
But also the right guys who will maximise its potential n make it work for our club
We need aboard who back each other n ain't out for personal gain.

20 Sep 2024 07:50:02
Spot on Duccablue ?i totally agree with your post mate ???.

20 Sep 2024 08:25:18
BAR, if by found guilty him agreeing to pay large 'fines' to stop the cases then I would say that amounted to an admission of guilt. so yes.

20 Sep 2024 08:34:42
duccablue. Did the research. King was claiming he had an annual income of £5k when he had luxury yachts, multi-million pound home and Ferraris. SARS were claiming 3 times what he eventually settled for out of court. This case was as a result of their claims that he was fraudulently not paying the correct taxes.

So they didn't triple the amount he was due, they decided to settle for 1/3 of the amount they were claiming in the court case. It was in all of the UK press but the court papers are actually still available online as well. It was during this case that the court/ judge called him a glib and shameless liar.

20 Sep 2024 11:30:40
Walter explain how king does this, the support r being blindly led to oblivion.

Angus u r 100% correct

Walter Dacca etc do you think king would pass the fit and proper test with SFA.

20 Sep 2024 11:59:49
There is an old saying. "never bite the hand that feeds you King actually did leave us in a good place, however several bad appointments put paid to that and we were back in deep sh-t, It's not King you should all be worried about, Others at Rangers have thrown money down the drain and made disastrous decisions that have placed our club in a very precarious position. We have sat back and allowed this to happen, Now is the time for action and getting our club back where it belongs or we can sit and be keyboard warriors while our club slowly ebbs away and we have nothing left to fight for.

20 Sep 2024 12:11:41
John, King passed it the last time did he not?

20 Sep 2024 12:39:00
Borna yes, b4 he agreed to pay the fines for tax evasion.

For me him and park did what the set out to do rid the club off the old board, I was in that camp along with many others.

We as a club now require the right type of business men to move the business forward, park and king r not these men

Imo halstead Gibson r the foundation stones of a future.

20 Sep 2024 14:23:09
I agree about Park John, but I think King has a part to play, even if it's to get others off their ass and get everyone around the table to brainstorm how to move our club forward. If him sticking his snib in is a catalyst for action at board level, then I'm all for it.

20 Sep 2024 15:11:55
Angus, respect brov, I get your point but see it different. His original tax bill was tripled, he refused to pay it and went to court, the case was settled for near the original amount demanded. I'd call that a win mate.

20 Sep 2024 17:24:29
ducca you are right in that we see it different.
tbh I am more worried about what the courts said about him at the time:that he "has no respect for the truth and does not hesitate to lie . if he thinks it will be to his advantage. " how can I then believe what he is saying in the papers now without thinking he must be acting in some way for his advantage. again just my opinion.

The club were brought back to life, our european reputation restored when we were beating teams miles ahead of our level thanks to Gerrards leadership and Beale's tactics, we had a team that punched well above it's weight, it did take 2 seasons to get the mix, direction and balance right in the team and a complete rebuild.

Poor decisions to not back Gerrard when he should have been, sell off our best young talents and letting valuable players walk for zilch, allowing other clubs to profit from their future sales, Rangers got Rangers in this mess, and there is little the fans can do about it.

looks like a lot of poor decisions have got us into this mess, the board are all over the joint, our manager is tactically clueless, we have no money as the club made an utter dugs dinner out of the player trading model, sacrificed 2 quality managers to cover up their mess, will be a long time until we even get back to the level Gerrard had us at, nevermind seriously challenge Celtic.

Rangers are on a downward spiral, no point in trying to kid on we are not. One director or board member will not fix that. The club have a lot of problems that need improved asap, and that is going to take at least 2-3 years, same as when Gerrard arrived.

Meanwhile Celtic have actually implemented a working player trading model, that is generating solid profits, and we are nowhere near their current level, crazy to think it was only 3 years ago and they couldn't touch us for a whole season, now they beat us without barely breaking a sweat.

20 Sep 2024 19:05:53
Bloom didn`t look at Rangers because £10million buys a lot of improvement for Hearts but not for us . He wouldn`t get any major input at Rangers for that money. Wouldn`t mind a link up with Brighton or one of the bigger English clubs though, access to some good players that can`t get a game for big EPL clubs.
