Story breaking in the daily record late tonight is that dave king is wishing to return as chairman of rangers for at least 2 years to sort things out and get our club back on track like before he left ?He reckons he's got a lot of backing for his possible return ??I would have him back in a heartbeat and he's correct in saying this job at this particular time is not for someone who's a stranger to rangers, it's for someone with a big connection to our club, who knows how to go about it Get him back ?.

I agree SWS. At present it is rhe best option. Our club is in a vulnerable position and stability and viability are important. Interesting that DK spoke about "investor fatigue".

I hope Dave King returns and gets everything sorted out at board level
So badly and unprofessionally run
I believe Dave King will have a great structure in place going from Chairman, CEO and the rest.

Him and gilligan worked well in 2015. Need to get all this uncertainty sorted, lots of names linked Wolhardt, Halstead, King, Easdales, McColl and others, as it stands we're a bit directionless.

He would start a fight in an empty room and not even sure he would pass the fit and proper person rule. Think we need to get away from the Rangers fans investors who most say have done too well. experienced businessmen with either football nous or others who have that is what is needed. Mr Bennett did a good job it would seem with everything he had to face but time for a change.

When dave king stepped down as chairman and handed the chairmanship to douglas park, rangers were in a good place and healthy ? We've went backwards again under douglas park who was more interested in protecting his own company and picking fights with everyone, which our club didn't need ? It's going to take someone like dave king to come back as chairman and pick up this mess and clear it up over the next couple of years or so ? He's without question the man for the job imo ? I honestly believe king will attract investment into our club from outside wealthy businessmen ?
He knows the job inside out of being rangers chairman and has the business acumen and steely decision making determination, to carry it out ??? It's a no brainer for me, get dave king back to our club and he'll fix us ?.

Walter king had more cases in court than anyone, in our recent history, but he would be a good chairman.
16 Sep 2024 09:30:58
Dave King is a huge reason we are in the state we are in. He should be nowhere near the board, nevermind as chairman.
16 Sep 2024 09:31:57
We need someone to fight for the club and king has shown he. ll do that, for me if he can come in to get us back on track I'd back that also sure he and Gilligan worked well before.
16 Sep 2024 09:42:25
King fighting for club has cost us a fortune,
16 Sep 2024 10:34:10
We weren’t in a good place when king stepped down maybe on that park but not off it.
16 Sep 2024 10:58:42
Dave King could start, and would start, a fight in an empty room. The guy, as much as I appreciate what he done, tried to take on fights he was never going to win, and it cost us. Is he really the best man for the job? Was there not chat that he was one of the shareholders willing to sell to that conwoman from the States? Sorry, I'm not convinced with this one!

Short term King will come in and steady the ship, fans furore towards the board will fade and the team, hopefully will start producing the goods on the park. King pulled a master stroke when appointing SG as manager, can he orchestrate something again at board level? Who knows. Long term, personally I think that the share holding Directors that are also our investors is not the direction the club needs to be going. There's too much conflicting influence and decision making. A sole investor that obtains a majority holding will be able to take the club forward. Its a huge sell though as our league is being sold off cheap by the SPFL. Something the East End mob are happy with just competing for domestic titles. At present, its not a big money maker.

Are we in that bad a place financially? Only money owed is to shareholders who are supporters. Turnover the last 2 seasons been over £87 million and £84 million which is record turnover. Granted this summer was spent reducing a ridiculous wage bill a lot of that has been achieved. Biggest off park issue is Celtic have turned over a lot more money lately primarily in player sales. The board don't have a crystal ball to know if players will become sellable assets to make huge profits.

King was in Talksport today saying he would come in for a 2 year period and steady the ship. Given where we are it might be the best solution short term as we certainly don't seem to have any better ideas.
16 Sep 2024 12:53:29
Think it would be a good appointment given where we seem to be again
Steady the ship and see what he can do
I’m all for it
No one else seems to be wanting to put their hand up so if not king who you all suggesting from the guys not wanting it?
16 Sep 2024 13:16:17
Dave has so many business and a director of none of them, no we need much bigger than him, someone like Halsted or another with as much clout and funds. This club is a permanent CL club with the right guy in charge, can't be a Man City but can be at the level Newcastle have fairly quickly, not perfect but certainly acceptable .
16 Sep 2024 13:37:31
i really don't think having one individual in control is ideal. remember what happened before or do we all have short memories.
there are no David Murrays anymore willing to risk such a huge amount and get no or little return.
16 Sep 2024 12:24:49
I thought King was what we needed at the time to sort out the mess left by the charlatans, yeah, and pick a fight with a few of them. He was the one who decided to take a chance on Gerrard after all the other poor appointments by others and his plan and timescale was spot on.
He left after a fallout with Parks, so I would imagine they would block his return unless they want out. My only concern would be his behaviour since he quit, every time he returned to the country he was giving interviews slagging off the club and was a bit hypocritical at times.
However, he has the charisma and drive to get us through a difficult time and if he is prepared to be hands on again, I think it would be worth doing for a couple of years or so.
Appointments need made and the football dept needs backing, immediately . Things cannot be allowed to drift like they have been.
16 Sep 2024 14:29:34
Murray only risked a banks money and his pal Joe Lewis was the real start of his problems when demanding his money back, he's now at Spurs robbing them on top of the other 4 clubs he robbed . So of course we don't need a Murray we need a genuine owner who doesn't need to con or beg a bank .
If you check where the Hutton transfer money actually went you might suss Lewis and his kind he thought by chucking in a few million as a loan he would make fortunes from broadcaster money that didn't come, he tried that before Rangers and failed .

Walter smith can u explain how rangers were in a good position, loss after loss under both, if either were to become chair again, it’s simply mor infighting.
