I have been reliably informed that Andrew McKinlay is going to be our new CEO.

Agree4 Disagree0

13 Sep 2024 21:31:12
I very much hope so.

14 Sep 2024 00:31:36
Ibrox4me, why?

14 Sep 2024 06:14:14
God help us.

14 Sep 2024 06:54:44
On the CEO subject John, do you have any inkling as to what direction we are moving in, noticed you mentioned a Kelly connection the other day. Not a name I'm familiar with as to who they are, cheers mate?.

14 Sep 2024 07:31:33
Fork, if I mentioned someone called Kelly that’s predictive text, never ever heard that name

We have interviewed 4, cut to two then declined Gillespie after due ddiligence

The one. Left works for a club in epl but has not been a CEO,

My understanding standing is guy from hearts was never interviewed.

14 Sep 2024 08:27:54
Why God Help Us John? You make a lot of brilliant posts and have excellent insight. I know this guy very well, he’s a great operator, highly connected and respected across the game up to UEFA levels and would come in a heartbeat. I see you’re not keen but to say that is very strange, what’s your rationale?

14 Sep 2024 08:36:36
If it was McKinley is that saying we’re struggling to find one?
or are we doing due diligence and looking for the best and is their a good list of candidates?
Just curious to know?

14 Sep 2024 09:25:59
John posted same time roughly as you
Replied
my original thinking would have been someone from down south
Interesting to see who will be announced.

14 Sep 2024 09:27:26
Stir he might not have been looking for another job, happy where he was but we have persuaded him as he is seen as best candidate. we had a look around when he wasn't keen but have now gone back.

14 Sep 2024 10:08:30
Ibrox I to know the guy very well, he would be at least fifth choice. We need someone with more experience from Germany or epl imo.

14 Sep 2024 11:02:09
John, know little about the man but why are you so quick to judge McKinley? If Bennet has done due diligence and thinks he’s qualified what’s the issue.

14 Sep 2024 11:13:47
John I'd imagine to bring in a guy with the experience of those leagues would be too expensive from what iv read This guy is well regarded and done a good job at hearts.

14 Sep 2024 11:14:09
If we are looking at Scottish CEOs, he is undoubtedly the best choice. He's by a mile the best in Scotland.

14 Sep 2024 11:53:57
79 if best in score and I respect your view why did we not approach him before interviewing Gillespie,

One Walter we r really downsizing the brand.

14 Sep 2024 12:02:09
John, I think I might have worked out that we know each other ? I know him very well too. Hasn’t been any more than initial interest. Certainly no interview.

My take is that we need stability at the top and although he would be an excellent appointment, it could be the wrong time with the current board make up.

Contacts on the other side of the city also think very highly of him. We need to build some bridges in the game and whilst stability is key, we also need to unlock some fresh investment and people.

Whatever the outcome, we need the right person in sharp, and some of the current board away as soon as possible.

14 Sep 2024 12:47:30
Ibrox what’s your thought on the Bennett news leaking.

14 Sep 2024 13:17:15
Cheers John?.

14 Sep 2024 13:24:08
Surprised at the timing and first of all hope he’s ok and wish him a speedy recovery.

The cynical side of me thinks (and I hope I’m wrong) that it’s a convenient excuse and way to let him go with full professional dignity intact.

Change is coming. The current board needs a major overhaul. JG can’t be the long term solution and I know it’s simply an interim move.

My thinking is some new investment, perhaps bringing their own people.

Going to be a very interesting few weeks off the field. I’m going to remain optimistic with an eye on the long term.

14 Sep 2024 13:47:05
Ibrox cool, I’m being told Gibson and JM ready to make their move, imo this would be a very good move for the club

Better than message I had earlier that Graeme park was to step up, but this was voted down.

14 Sep 2024 13:58:53
I4M, the rumour of new investment is the one constant in the City, (London), and this shows no sign of disappearing.
What I would say is that any serious investors will have taken their time to do due diligence and they will have ensured as far as possible that confidentiality is of the upmost importance, hence why there has been little by way of rumour in the media and that has been easy for the current Board and for King do deny.
(King, despite being a shareholder would not necessarily have been party to any investment discussions that would be handled by the Board) .
The last names I heard, that I posted in an earlier thread, was that the Easdale Brothers were keen to take a substantial share in the Club, something that at the right price I believe that both King and Park would support.
There has of course been rumour of other South African interest as well as interest from the whisky sector in Scotland and both Gibson and John Halstead have been rumoured to take a greater holing in the recent past.
Interestingly, I have also heard of interest from Private Equity Firms and Sovereign Wealth Funds.

14 Sep 2024 11:15:22
Cheers for update John?? was away working for a bit, just seen it?.

14 Sep 2024 14:12:58
That’s very interesting John. Would be a great option. Thankful that was voted down, we need that family out.

BB - you’ve been very consistent with your posts. I always find them to be of great interest and well balanced. To have options would be perfect and to have it done in private would also be pleasing.

As I say, an interesting period coming up, and hopefully one which safeguards our long term wellbeing.

14 Sep 2024 14:27:52
John, you mention Gibson and JM. Who is the JM you refer too? I would hope Gibson takes a controlling stake and takes us to next level.

14 Sep 2024 14:33:42
John you mention Gibson and JM. Who is JM?

14 Sep 2024 14:45:37
they have to do it in private, noone within can leak anything about potential buyout or major investment that can affect share prices. You can go to jail for that especially if its proved you benefit from leaking it.

14 Sep 2024 14:53:14
Excellent insight in your post Berkshire, let's hope for a positive outcome ??.

14 Sep 2024 16:17:37
Not someone I will name, king. But very well known in rangers circles.

14 Sep 2024 17:06:32
It wouldn't be John Mc2561 by any chance???.

14 Sep 2024 17:35:44
Fork, I could not afford to take club forward, and I’m way to old.

14 Sep 2024 18:27:42
Lol no harm in asking bud??.

14 Sep 2024 19:57:42
Jim mccoll Wish John Bennett all the best. Great insight guys and interesting times. WATP.

14 Sep 2024 20:11:39
I'm mindful of the fact that current shareholders would prefer that the club did not fall in to the hands of a 3rd party however if we were to assume that existing shareholders, (perhaps some of those mentioned), were interested, then the Club could go for a Rights Issue where not all of the current Shareholders did not take up their Rights Issue and I believe, (but need to confirm), that in such circumstances the remaining Shares could be purchased by other current shareholders, (or perhaps by an acceptable 3rd Party.

That way, the funds would stay within the Club and not go to an existing shareholder although this would not preclude the acquirer from buying out designated existing shareholders.

I'm not sure that Park would want to sell, but I believe that King would sell at the right price and I'm confident that a deal could be done with Club 1872 since I suspect that it would be difficult for them to distribute any proceeds of sale to the individual members. Just another theory at this time of course.

14 Sep 2024 20:36:58
If JM comes onboard he most definitely has the wealth to take us forward.

14 Sep 2024 22:03:21
I know its not popular to some but so do the Easdale brothers, worth over a billion.
