Anything in the possibility of Tav leaving?
08 Sep 2024 10:24:30
He’s just purchased a new house so doesn’t look likely.
08 Sep 2024 10:39:41
I hope so! Not just because he's a shadow of the player he once was, but for his own sake.
Since the dark days of being cast to the lowest division, Tav, has stood head and shoulders above any other Rangers player since he signed, and he can be considered our best player in that period. Tav, in the full context of our greatest ever players, can never be described as a Rangers legend (although some fans would argue against that), but over the last 12 years, he has been our greatest player. However, his days are numbered, and if he doesn't go soon, and continues to play, and captain us, then any legacy he does have will be forever tarnished.

It's now getting ott on tav and imho it's up to PC to make the brave but best decision for the player and club to take him out of the starting 11, tav will do OK if he's covering in certain games but cannot be playing every single week.

GC his and his wife's company have bought the property to add to their portfolio.
08 Sep 2024 11:09:07
GC you do know Tav and his Mrs have a property business portfolio, buying a house in Glasgow may or may not mean he stays or anything, still it is a bit strange with the timing, tbh prefer he went.

Sinshine absolutely spot he was great until last couple of years my kids love him because that's all they have known, its now time to go and as u say don't ruin any legacy he may have.
08 Sep 2024 12:08:16
Good post SS he been here 12 years? I thought it was 9/ 10 time flys ?.
08 Sep 2024 12:16:52
Well said Sunshine, cracking comments ?.
08 Sep 2024 12:21:56
He's a family man he's not going to jump to qatar . Its just easy headline for media clicks.
08 Sep 2024 12:47:49
I’m told since the window opened there has been one enquiry re tav, no offers.
08 Sep 2024 12:55:33
It's not 12 years since he signed Storm. What I meant mate, is over the last 12 years, out if all the players we've had since we were demoted, Tav has been our greatest player out of them all.
08 Sep 2024 13:07:25
Tav has been the best right back we have at the club, it's why he's not been dropped.
08 Sep 2024 13:49:54
Tav may have been great for a few seasons but he's not now, so do we just play him for 2 years because of his past? He needs to go.
08 Sep 2024 14:01:45
A very fair and balanced post ssfc.

Ive heard he is leaving but he and his wife will come back and buy the club using the rent they make from his property portfolio, obviously after having moved to America to make that part of the takeover rumour correct. He is linking up with the Easdale's as Tavs has been on buses and really enjoys the experience so to be partners with a bus company owner is a life dream.
The press have got the story re his next destination wrong as he isn't moving to Qatar; it is simply that he was thinking of buying a guitar, easy mistake. This is why Todd Cantwell wanted to leave as he saw himself as the only boy band member at the club
I now expect all of the above to be repeated across several forums and in the Daily Record, HITC from tomorrow obviously.

Agree EHL if we have someone better play them but until then he's our right back and captain. We Follow on people I really think this international break will help us.
08 Sep 2024 14:58:28
Ehl and there lies the problem if he is the best we have we are fecked because he is rank rotten and can’t defend.
08 Sep 2024 16:08:13
SS and a few others are correct, he was a a great attacking RB, he isn't anymore and Storm also correct, if he is the best then we are truly F'd.
08 Sep 2024 17:00:50
Loved what the guy means to the club through all the dark days and Euro runs but sentiment can't get him bye forever and all good things come to an end - hope he can move and leave us with memories and not get rinsed in any more OF games as he is not the player he once was
- time waits for no man?.
08 Sep 2024 19:27:03
We need him to leave. Huge weak link in that defence.
08 Sep 2024 22:06:15
We have just brought in a right back in the Dutch lad so we will see who ends up being first choice.
08 Sep 2024 22:43:08
“He was great up until the last couple of years” - James Tavernier was nominated for Scotland’s POTY a few months ago ??♂️.

opinion is a great thing. Like backsides we all have them and I won't finish the rest about spouting. PC plays him because he thinks he is the best we have at the moment. what any one of us thinks is irrelevant. People have and are still moaning about Souter, Propper and Yilmaz (even Barasic) so fans opinions are fickle. wait until next game when he comes up with cross or winner in the next game we are close to losing and see what is said then. If we are winning then fans are happy, if we aren't then we get this.

Tavs form has obviously declined from end of last season until now, both in speed and touch.
Sterling should start to get his chance at rb, now fit.
It's ridiculous tho that our captain should be hounded from the club. He has had his haters from the start, just because he's been associated with rubbish teams and he has never hidden. He has been in the team of the season over half a dozen times over his time. He deserves to have plenty of credit in the bank.
