01 Sep 2024 17:41:16
I'm told clement in a meeting with Bennett and Robertson at ibrox just now.
01 Sep 2024 19:12:50
Hopefully to relieve him John. Sorry not good enough. We are going backwards.
01 Sep 2024 19:17:12
Maybe he's resigning. Can't see them sacking him after a new deal. Maybe just going over the defeat.
01 Sep 2024 19:18:41
Interesting. Now is not the time to change manager again. PC does however need to stop with the nonsense excuses. Shots on target, possession blah blah we got pumped off them yet again.
01 Sep 2024 19:20:00
Game, set and match, John?
01 Sep 2024 19:20:13
To do what exactly….
01 Sep 2024 19:25:19
Hopefully just a debrief and maybe talk of a need to move for free agents.
Changing the manager every 8 months is not an option.
If Clement goes, his backroom team and Kloppen go as well.
Would be an utter farce.
I’d rather see changes at Board level.
01 Sep 2024 19:28:32
I actually quite like pc and what ge says.
I just hope he gets a bit more time-at least till January.
01 Sep 2024 19:29:00
Meetings happen all the time after games, especially defeats. He certainly isn't getting sacked if that's what you're trying to insinuate.
01 Sep 2024 19:31:27
I’m not sure sacking him is the answer tbh.
However he needs to realise fast that he can’t keep doing the same thing with same players and expecting a different outcome.
01 Sep 2024 19:31:47
I can’t see how changing our manager (again) would make any difference.
You could put Pep in charge but if you don’t back him properly you will still get the same end result.
This is clearly going to be a horrible season but Clement is a proven manager and deserves some backing.
Bennet and Park are the ones that any frustration should be pointed at.
They are the decision makers who have prioritised other areas over the success of the team.
01 Sep 2024 19:34:18
Meeting or no meeting our manager will remain, absolutely no chance will philippe clement get sacked and will be here for the foreseeable future. ?We just can't continue with this cycle of sacking manager's every year. ?
We'll just have to just have to hope clement is the correct manager to rebuild us to challenge them with a lot of pain on the way until hopefully long-term gain ? It's very hard to take being a rangers supporter at the minute ☹️ I only hope and pray ? clement is the man to get us there ?.
01 Sep 2024 19:39:25
He's away!
01 Sep 2024 19:41:56
PC knows what a shambles he's inherited and still wants to fight. He has no chance with this board and neither would Ancelotti.
01 Sep 2024 19:48:25
Sacking clement would be knee jerk short-termism. We’ve just had a total squad over-haul which is nowhere near complete, with a focus on building a team for the future.
Celtic are unfortunately a well-oiled machine and streets ahead of us and clearly we cannot yet go toe-to-toe so unless big improvements seen by the next old firm we’ll need to take a more pragmatic approach tactics wise.
We don’t have the money to buy players to immediately compete with them so we just have to hope we get the recruitment correct and that in time the younger signings realise the potential we are hoping for.
01 Sep 2024 19:53:18
Sunshine supporter fc Away where.
01 Sep 2024 20:05:01
Could be the tav chat he's not being sacked.
01 Sep 2024 20:10:55
Getting rid of him walking is just ridiculous. The board have not backed him like they done others and fans expect miracles when Celtic are miles in front in every department.
01 Sep 2024 20:11:36
Clement needs time, next game against them is not until next year, but his side need to show massive improvement, the one thing that gets on my nerves with him, Tavernier.
01 Sep 2024 20:11:41
He's not away his job is safe whether you like it or not.
01 Sep 2024 20:12:46
Where you seeing that, SS?
01 Sep 2024 20:22:33
Would be absolutely stupidity to sack him. We have to sccept its going to be a hard season and let him build a squad over another couple of windows. sacking managers every season does us no good and we simply can't rebuild every single season.
01 Sep 2024 20:23:14
What utter nonsense! Who on here actually expected a win today? We had chances but they were always going to dominate proceedings! They have a settled side with massive money available to them. We have a mixture of players from the previous 3 managers zero money to spend and an inept board unwilling to back a manager! If Clemont is sacked then we may as well give up!
01 Sep 2024 20:29:53
Our board would be making a huge mistake letting him go. We have went through another massive change in players this summer again. Lost our biggest assets on free transfers the second summer in a row and just now our teamm is in transition with no major assets. We still are short of 4 or 5 players.
My information is PC still wants a few players to come in. He is looking for another couple free agents with another 3 in january.
01 Sep 2024 20:32:53
Mystar you said they are weaker than last year ?.
01 Sep 2024 20:37:26
I'm not, Storm, I posted that in hope.
01 Sep 2024 20:56:27
He’s going no where, I suspect transfer business but that’s only my opinion.
01 Sep 2024 21:14:20
My star, how many defeats do we give him against that mob.
01 Sep 2024 21:20:59
The one thing a new manager might to is identify a set up that would play to the strengths of the squad. Clement playing the same system over and over again and continually failing is worrying.
01 Sep 2024 21:39:10
Yeah! Get rid of 8? Sign 8? And get rid 3 weeks later
Move on, nothing to see here.
01 Sep 2024 21:45:45
We should have kept Lundstram for another season and Barron could do the running with him picking the passes, complete amputation isn’t always what’s required, you can make the best with adjustments.
01 Sep 2024 21:58:58
Sacking him would be crazy - they are a decent side like it or not - will take time to catch them but let’s see how the next few months go ??????.
01 Sep 2024 21:59:06
Clement will not be sacked yet. If we keep going this way though we're going to be miles behind come November time. Yes this is mostly on the board that is not in doubt at all.
But Clement picks the team formation ect things need to improve massively. For me the players don't even look fit. I see no style of any note at all. And some of the signings look far from good. Propper really looks poor to me and butland is yet to have a good game against Celtic in his time here.
Just my 2 cents.
01 Sep 2024 22:00:13
So the excuse now is that Celtic have more money than us? lol. Lads I said months ago he wasn’t the right man and I was shot down in flames on here. When the fans take you to task personally your days are numbered.
01 Sep 2024 22:04:52
The only way he goes if on his own volition and the board have to ask serious questions for there role in where we are.
01 Sep 2024 22:23:22
AS 1974 : why would it be an excuse it’s true squad wise they are miles ahead of us financially they are over the hill and far away just look today they bring on a £13 million substitute we bring on McCausland says it all really.
01 Sep 2024 22:24:58
PC is not the problem, the Board is the problem and has been since King was replaced by Park.
Nothing will improve while this Board remains. They lack ambition and are bereft of a strategy to increase income. What is more they will not succeed with their plan to sell their best players to generate funds when they are at best bringing in third rate players.
Our Scouting System since Wilson and Park were in control of this has been abysmal, we are six years behind Celtic and we could fall behind other teams while PC attempts to build a team with no investment.
01 Sep 2024 22:25:12
Clement was promised a cdm in and never got it, we are def still trying to bring in an experienced cdm.
01 Sep 2024 22:28:49
Not sure who we all think can come in and take over and then realistically compete given the disparity in funds and core of squads……this took 4 seasons of slipping behind and won’t turn in 10 months…. time to be realistic and back the rebuild.
01 Sep 2024 22:32:32
Clement needs time and money. I do feel the club is losing its identity. I'd rather have average Scottish players than average foreign ones. At least you get a bit of dig if all else fails. That said, I thought Igamane looked promising when he came on. Diomande has talent but his temperament is a problem. I'm not convinced he will generate the big transfer fee Clement is hoping for.
01 Sep 2024 22:55:20
John, hearing planned meeting about transfers, looking for hagi out and 1 in free agent.
01 Sep 2024 23:13:14
Hoping it was to discuss the continual use of a player not good enough to play for this great club never mind captain it
How many times does someone need to have a shocker against your biggest rivals for someone to then see those flaws
Cannot believe we did not go with Balogun at RB.
01 Sep 2024 23:44:36
Storm?here's what I actually DID SAY, losing a midfielder with over 40 goals contributions will weaken that midfield like it would weaken any teams midfield, you think different fair enough but nothing changes my mind, just because we were poor yesterday, that changes nothing, you thinking any different good for you?.
02 Sep 2024 01:25:05
Debrief after transfer window and what to do with Hagi which has turned into a debacle will be top of the agenda.
Most likely we’ll be prepared to rip up his contract which he’ll likely agree to as he values his international football to much to let this drag on.
On a side note, I’m starting to wonder what they work on in training because they look like they’re a group of individuals with no confidence or tactical awareness.
02 Sep 2024 06:16:07
They ain’t weaker 30 million worth of players on the bench and then look at our bench.
02 Sep 2024 08:47:42
we were poor yesterday once they had the offside goal. we did have half decent chances but failed to take them. I think we will improve as manager binds the team together and a few wins and our support might actually help with confidence. Having played the game it is really difficult to break a run of defeats but once you get one that can be the thing that let's you get on a run of wins.
re the manager everyone on here was saying play the midfield he did and they were rubbish yesterday. so one thing is for sure it won't be any poster on here who replaces him but they will still question the next manager should when they do get the post. who would you have as manager with the same players; also if they aren't good enough then the next manager will need to get rid and bring in his own. I suggest give PC time and then build on the base of players who are good enough ninth squad. his decision on that not ours.
02 Sep 2024 09:01:23
Exactly Stromtrooper1, he does not seem to grasp that. He has tunnel vision and has focused on O'Riley's goal contributions from midfield. Since O'Riley left. McGregor has scored twice and Hatate has also scored. That's 3 goals from midfield in the 7 days O'Riley has gone. They had an £11m midfielder on the bench and he is still trying to claim they are weaker in midfield.
02 Sep 2024 09:21:38
Clueless phil still has not figured out how to stop celtic playing.
02 Sep 2024 09:33:37
The Board will not sack PC for one simple reason, they cannot afford to pay him off such has been the abysmal way in which our Club has been managed over the past few years.
What is more, they will not want to see PC walk since at the present time we would seriously struggle to find a manager to come in to a Club that is in free fall.
A few more bad defeats and whether we like it or not the rump of the support will be looking for change, some poor attendances in Europe and a fall off in the purchase of merchandise etc., while the 'punters' stay away and the share price will fall.
In these circumstances we might just see new ownership since the current lot will want out before their shares become worthless.
02 Sep 2024 10:11:02
Think my question to Clement and the board would be - did they not see yesterday coming? I mean myself and every other Rangers fan did! Zero belief in that squad, players signed late in the window who can’t play, lack of depth, way too many players who are not “ready” to play against them! It’s embarrassing how ill prepared we have been! Firstly for the champions league qualifiers and now secondly for the old firm!
I agree with Bornabear’s comment too that Clement has to stop with this narrative of excuses, I’m sick of hearing how we had as many shots as they did and had similar possession, none of that matters when the key moments in the game we can’t keep focused, disciplined and motivated enough! Celtic’s goals were all just far too easy to get their shot away!
I can understand fans reactions outside ibrox yesterday, but it’s yet another source of embarrassment to us as a club and something else they can sit back and laugh at- going forward it really doesn’t help! Writing is on the wall, it’s going to be one loooooong season.
02 Sep 2024 10:14:57
Very cool Storm, so taking a midfield player with 40 goal contributions doesn't weaken that midfield ??deary dear man, whatever?.
02 Sep 2024 10:24:09
Coldo, one again they three cm that they play will struggle for his goals contributions, but according to you losing a player with 40 goal contributions doesn't weaken that midfield ?.
?.
02 Sep 2024 10:45:14
Aye could get McInnes and just hoof it.
02 Sep 2024 12:19:49
The board of clowns and grifters might see a profit in Clement if anyone fancies getting him, any Belgian clubs struggling that really shouldn't be?
02 Sep 2024 14:57:53
I'm told that there is renewed interest in Tav from Turkey which would get him off the wage bill but I'm not sure how accurate this is. Also, Galatasaray did enquire about Yilmaz but the feedback that neither the club or more important, the player, wanted to move there. I suspect that if Besiktas were interested he might consider it but he would prefer a move to Germany.
02 Sep 2024 16:45:27
Somebody posted here we should have kept loose one Lundstram to continue passing to linesmen and ball boys I assume?
