Not been keeping upto date with any rumours on this site or beyond but was speaking to my guy today.
His knowledge is that we are highly unlikely to ever sign Lennon Miller. We are not ready to spend a decent wedge of money on a player playing in the Scottish leagues (wrongly imo) and by the time we’d be willing to he will be beyond our grasp.
Also beyond loan deals we won’t be signing anybody unless there’s departures champions league money or not.
Like I said I’ve not kept up with any rumours or such so this may be old news, I’m simply passing on what I’ve been told.
09 Aug 2024 23:07:58
I could have told you we’re not in a position to pay £3m for a prospect. We’re spending that on starters.
10 Aug 2024 00:21:52
Not willing to spend any sort of money on a talented lad because he plays in Scotland? Eh? Didn’t Lewis Feeguson cut his teeth here and just was awarded poty in Italy?
If that is true then whoever came up with that logic needs punted out the nearest exit!
10 Aug 2024 07:37:31
So basically there’s no money at all for quality players going to be living in Celtics shadow for years to come been basically lied to again why don’t the ever mention this before renewal for season tickets we are paying season tickets to watch utter dross yearly. ????.
10 Aug 2024 07:48:02
Our finances are a mess and restricting our progress, years of buying on the cheap ahead so we better be ready for them moving way ahead in trophies and leagues won. what a shootshow we are now and no end in sight!
10 Aug 2024 08:00:30
This if true is why we are so far behind, instead of snapping up the best in Scottish talent we overlook n overpay for foreign guys who just don't cut it or suit Scottish football, as I said win domestic games with a blend of the best Scottish players then worry about Europe
We should be snapping these guys up
Proteus, ferguson , when we have the chance before they go elsewhere n we really can't afford them
If we keep failing domestically we won't qualify for european football
Win in our league first n the rest will follow.
10 Aug 2024 08:11:07
Portuous even lol ?.
10 Aug 2024 08:19:34
Porteous is a bomb scare and would be a guarantee for red cards in big games. Just look at him in the euros. No better than Souttar. Ferguson we should have but again would Aberdeen have dealt with us fairly?
10 Aug 2024 08:20:24
Although he didn’t cost anything I’m pretty sure Barron is showing the benefits of recruiting from within Scotland already….
10 Aug 2024 08:28:45
Everyone wants the league but the champions league money should be our main goal tbh, if we don't get champions league every season we're dropping more and more behind, aye I would like to win the league but the money is rubbish and without the champions league money we can't sign players good enough and have some extra financial power to make better moves.
10 Aug 2024 08:40:51
So, if your correct, we can forget about Whittaker? Albion, Clarke, Sima, Shankland etc etc . I just don’t see that particularly if we qualify for CL .
10 Aug 2024 08:49:49
I think everyone and their dog knows we won't be signing Miller.
The lad is a top talent and we should be going for him but no way we would pay 3 million or more for him especially at his age of just 17 or 18.
It's stupid that we'll pay similar money for a lad from another league and hope he adjusts and here Miller is already knows the league demands ect.
That kid turned the Celtic midfield over himself at times last season more than can be said for any of our midfield.
10 Aug 2024 09:05:53
We already know were trying to ship cantwell and hagi out that's no change. Still think we will sign a couple.
10 Aug 2024 10:28:06
Mob it’s simple don’t pay and someone else will.
10 Aug 2024 10:29:51
Alex problem is some don’t.
10 Aug 2024 10:38:10
Stus - but winning league gets us into Champions league (until things change) so it is a double edged sword - if we can't compete in our diddy league what makes us think that getting tonked in Champs league is good for morale - it is obviously money we require from any competition but we can only look back over last 12 odd years when club has been run by wrong people almost as a status symbol and not a business organisation which it is foremost - it is obviously firstly a business and make a profit from business then yields can be seen on the pitch - they have usurped us by having the ideal buy and sell policy for donkeys now which will take us many years to attain so imo times will be very hard for next 3-5 years but if we don't grind through this together we may as well shut up shop - nothing is every easy or guaranteed in life so it will make it all the sweeter when we see good football and good business as the core of our being - it can be turned around but it will take time and belief and more importantly the right business people??.
10 Aug 2024 10:42:04
You have to laugh, someone says I haven't kept it with transfer news but I've been told we're not likely to sign anyone and we get the usual responses of we've been lied to just to get our season ticket money etc.
I wish people would put a little thought into their responses. Also the nonsense about us not signing any young Scottish players. We just signed Connor Barron.
10 Aug 2024 10:51:17
The same folk moaning and claiming we shouldn’t be paying £3m for Miller are the same ones who will slate the club when he becomes a Lewis Ferguson type deal for some mid table Italian mob and ends up worth £15-£20m!
10 Aug 2024 11:01:12
One jfm for good few seasons
We passed up shankland
Ferguson
N Blew
money on itten to name just one
We never learn lessons
N do the same season after season one scots player in 4 seasons there's yer nonsence right there
On.
10 Aug 2024 11:02:42
Absolute nonsense.
Koppen done an assessment on salaries and reported back too many players not up to standard for the salaries we are paying.
His plan is to spend bigger on fee and put a better wage structure in place like the Dutch and Belgian clubs and to do this we need to ship players out.
The scaremongering that goes on is unreal.
We are actively reviewing players based on two levels of European income.
10 Aug 2024 11:05:39
My information is completely different. The money for transfers isn't the issue it's the massive wage bill we currently have. We need to reduce our squad as we want to drop the wage budget by roughly a third. Miller is a target and we are more than willing to move for him. That's from sources at both Rangers and Motherwell. We also have no issue buying domestically as talent is talent irregardless of where they come from. If it's value for money we will buy here.
My information is that PC is big fan of Miller and we could offer cash plus player for the deal to get fone.
10 Aug 2024 11:31:49
Bellshill miller woukd be on relatively low wages though so shoukd be zero issue if we are in for him which am not convinced we are.
10 Aug 2024 11:36:11
If we allow Miller, who wants the move, to go elsewhere we’ll be repeating the Lewis Ferguson debacle ten times over .
10 Aug 2024 11:44:28
I think those who have different and massively different rumours from their ITK sources should all meet up for a jelly wrestling match in a swimming pool. See whose rumours are the winner.
10 Aug 2024 12:18:09
Lewis Ferguson was scoring and getting assists regularly week in week out don’t think miller has done very much of ether for Motherwell and pretty sure most at the time said Fergie wasn’t good enough had numerous arguments about it on here.
10 Aug 2024 12:19:13
If Celtic sell oreilly for just short of 30 million there turn over will be no far off 100 million we can’t compete it’s simple as that. we are already miles behind financially unfortunately.
10 Aug 2024 12:33:57
I was thinking that our transfer policy was changing to try and get the young Scottish talent and see beyond this season. Not the quick fixes anymore which hasn’t worked in the past.
10 Aug 2024 12:43:54
Gbone no one is moaning about miller the majority want him but also the majority are saying we ain’t paying 3:4 million on him at this time as we know the money situation.
I wanted Ferguson signed but hey Ho we didn’t and we move on.
10 Aug 2024 12:51:02
Bluedreamer so you are going to blame the current management set up for what others done in the past. We can only judge our current management team on their own actions and they have shown if they think a player is good enough and within our price range we will try to get them regardless of their nationality. I would like Miller at ibrox, is he worth the asking price at the moment when we need other areas strengthened. That you will need to make your own mind up on.
10 Aug 2024 13:16:52
Motherwell, no fixed bids and the club have never stated a price certainly not the nutty price regularly guessed on here . Rangers are interested and a deal will be done . The player and his father and family want it done. Bet your shirt on it boys.
10 Aug 2024 13:37:17
Storm agree you did always say you liked Ferguson a remember that but the majority said he wasn’t rangers class.
10 Aug 2024 14:10:41
I remember similar talk before gio guided us into cl and we didn't spend thdn either so the club have history of not spending cl income.
10 Aug 2024 14:31:35
I think the lad will wait, however if Cantwell and Hagi are sold then this deal is done and there will be more than a few bob left over . Motherwell ain't daft and they know the figure thrown about is nonsense.
10 Aug 2024 15:57:26
I think we’d get him for about £3m and 10%.
10 Aug 2024 16:23:40
Seems there’s quite a few people saying they disagree/ have different info but then say pretty much the same thing.
That we won’t be signing new players unless there’s departures out (exception of maybe 1 or 2 loans that could come in) .
On Miller we will see how things play out but I’m more than confident in the info I have that he will 100% not be a Rangers player by the end of this window. The club have targets who they see as better value for money than Miller. Like I say we will see after the end of the window.
10 Aug 2024 16:58:30
Thing is it shouldn’t just be about value for mi et in the present
The returns (potential) on the outlay for miller would be astronomical.
10 Aug 2024 19:53:41
Lisbon bill who says miller wants the move like?
10 Aug 2024 22:01:10
That’s because we have a board full of liars who want to rinse fans for every coin going they’ve took us as far as the can time for fresh ideas.
11 Aug 2024 00:56:18
Iheard this has got to be the way as wages are our problem.
11 Aug 2024 00:58:32
Sorry posted to fast, Iheard, a good few players will be signed before this window shuts guaranteed ?.
11 Aug 2024 02:33:13
Miller for £2m plus add-ons would be a bargain. If we get a few out, it's a real possibility. We would be daft not to. Barron, Rice and Miller, three of the best young Scottish midfielders that there are, and possible mainstays of the team for years and years.
11 Aug 2024 10:01:09
Gary keep hearing people say this but who do you propose takes over from them.
11 Aug 2024 11:12:51
Someone will arrive from Killie soon, the McCrorie deal included some detail we don't know about yet . Miller might if M/ well agree to another player or players included in the deal with a reasonable fee also paid, certainly nowhere near 3 or 4 million quid, that is nonsense.
11 Aug 2024 11:54:14
Gary, king shares for sale, why not buy him out.
11 Aug 2024 12:16:56
Miller not worried about staying there or moving, good head on his shoulders as has his father . Rangers might be his best move but I don't think they are worried about it, will not want to be chucked in to an English or any other youth set up he's too good for that and he knows it . I think we will do a deal if Motherwell get a fair fee and a player or 2, we have a selection to offer, Devine, King, Lowry and probably a few others.
11 Aug 2024 13:58:07
Moffat the wages of these players mean Motherwell cannot afford them.
We’d need to come to an agreement with said player/ s in order for them to move (I’d imagine) this driving the outlay up.
I would sign him regardless.
11 Aug 2024 15:48:21
Is that not what the Kray bros are planning John.
11 Aug 2024 17:54:08
Stevie if a loan is involved Rangers will pay wages or in part. We have players that fit to go there and no real wage problem, they had Devine already and there didn't appear to be a problem in costing it . Also M/ well got a few quid after selling that Teddy Bear lump and would have a large fee on any Miller deal, I think Devine and Rice will go either part of fee or loan particularly with Rice.
11 Aug 2024 17:56:34
Or they might burn the bus.
11 Aug 2024 21:32:57
You might think the best players in Scottish football could compete in Scottish football but if you can't think it could be a problem .
