I don`t remember the boy being terrible in any of the games he played in fact he played 4 games at left back and was outstanding in two of them . It appears that Clement doesn`t fancy him as he has never included him in any first team action so it is probably right that he goes . £500, 000 plus the usual sell on, buy back clauses seems pretty fair to me . We will be lucky to get that for some of the first team players .

As with most of the other kids that have come through, I think we'll be better served focusing on sell on % than a relatively small fee up front. I'd be happy to take a smaller fee if it meant a large sell on (50%? ) in the hope he progresses (and I think he has the potential to be a decent player - just unlikely for us) .
That said, any of our kids leaving on even a small fee can have an impact on our FFP outcomes, so appreciate if we focus on up front fees in the short term while we get back on an even keel.

Manager knows better than me, so correct decision if true. Thought he may have gone in part deal for Miller but there are other options. Clement will get this right no doubt about it . Be happy boys and stop fretting.

Loan deal would be ok, wouldn’t sell him just yet.
Specifically watched a few Motherwell games last season just to see how he performed and he was a standout in most matches. In the same team as Miller who folk want to buy for a couple of million yet let Devine go for a few hundred K.
We should be following tried and tested transfer models.
He had a good loan season at Motherwell. Now we should loan him to a team of a higher standard (Ano Hibs were poor last season) and so on to test the lad and at very least enhance his transfer value.

He didn't play much for Motherwell, are you sure you watched them? Stephen O'Donnell played ahead of him and Devine wasn't in the squad for there last 5 games.

A young lad who has stood out when asked. Can't say I knew he was motm in 3 of his games played, but wouldn't surprise me tbh. Always thought he looked a player. Sure he played out of position as well? Yet the club are willing to spend millions on foreigners or others who simply are not fit enough! All opinions.

This is not a dig John, but you seemed to really rate Devine do you still? A honestly only seen the boy play once at Ibrox and he looked dead nervous for me if we keep him I would loan to the championship he needs games under his belt to get rid of the nerves imo whether he will make it or not is another thing but definitely needs game time.

Why no spend on foreigners have you seen how Scotland done on the big stage we are hopeless and these kids will win us nothing Devine should be sold or loaned out but he’s not ready for our first team yet and is no were near millers level who has about 6 clubs looking at him.

Yeah pretty sure I watched him play for Motherwell, o didn’t say it was in any of the last 5 games. Just said I made a point of watching them to see Devine play. And personally, when I saw him play, I thought he stood out. Others are free to disagree.
I thought his use of the ball was good and always looking to get forward. Maybe defensively a bit lacking but he is only 21 (I think) and has time to develop.
I think another loan deal would be best for him at this point in his career, same goes for King, Rice, Lovelace etc. if we’re not going to give them at least ten games this season then they would be better off getting that time at another club in the league.

If we are not going to give them first team football it's not right to stand in thier way.
Letting them go and develope elsewhere and possible become better players that we want back is definitely a better option that rotting on bench.

Devine was injured last couple of games at Motherwell, he seems a decent player my only criticism was I felt when he was compared to Patterson that he lacked a wee burst of pace that Patterson has. Decent on the ball though, definitely needs games.

Josh Campbell missed most of last season with a bad injury, do we really want to swap Devine for a player who will be recovering from injury .
