Because if we sign a cb and then a sale for our cbs fall through we are stuck will too many, and that's wasting wages.
Also add to that teams aren't stupid, if we've bought a cb they'll know we need to sell one so can hold us to random more. Ain't rocket science.

This is one I'd love to see happen. Imagine it must be a tough square to circle given his previous transfer fees and presumably his current wages though. He's only 25, so would have clear sell on potential, but more than that I'm minded that we need a few guys like him / McLean around the club longer term and we shouldn't put all of our eggs in the young/ foreign/ potential basket. I suppose it's difficult to know how fit he is etc. given he's been frozen out of his current team.
Not to mention I'm a sucker for footballing siblings!

Rangers just signed a young left-sided CB from Italy. Do you think he came here to play B team football? This young guy is going to play, and Harry Souttar would simply block his path to the first-team.
I could see a RCB being signed, but someone would need to go. Balogun should not have been given that extension IMO. Davis and Goldson are going to be very tough to move as few club below EPL can actually afford their wages.
Rumours of Goldson going to League 1 are just a joke. Talk of £25m fees and a league 1 club paying £37k/ week, etc. It’s been nonsense from the outset.

He said "need" to be off the books soon, same thing. It's nonsense to say as he has since repeated that we need to get players in exactly the same position away before we bring in others, in case we are stuck with them. We must have a plan to upgrade positions without waiting until someone comes in for our players. We will know who we can get rid of.
We have also filled a position by keeping Balogun, we wouldn`t have done that if it could be a possible blockage to bringing someone in. Also to those who are worried abut Souttar coming in and blocking Nsialas development as a left centre back . Souttar, like his brother is right footed, although he does play to the left when required.

Yes, we need players in. Players off the books are to allow others in, seeing what capital is available for new reduced wages of incoming players, as per wages restructuring. Fair point imo.

Are 2 footed CB's really out of our reach, we have a couple of players uncomfortable even in the warm up, Davies is certainly one of them and should be out no matter what he wants to do .
