With the talk on here lately about Connor barron from Aberdeen. I'm sitting watching the semi final with my focus on him. what a great young player he is, he's absoloutly everywhere, always looking for the ball, playing great through balls and passes and tracking back. looking at him is like watching raskin. if this boy is available to sign a pre contract in January then its a must to offer him a contract. This boy wouldn't look out of place playing for gers.

Is he out of contract in the summer? I've seen him a few times he looks decent and if he's free definitely worth a punt. Could maybe be a replacement for jack.

Yes believe he's not re signed his contract offer from the dons. I'm basing my opinion on watching him for 65 mins. in my personal opinion if gers bought him he would be head and shoulders above any other young player to play regular foe gers. if you haven't noticed I'm very impressed with his style of play as its very combativness.

I know Barron is rated pretty highly within the Scotland set up, and he's exactly the type of player we should be targeting.
Biggest difference between Barron and our own youth is that Barron has played almost 80 first team games already - we just can't provide the same platform for players to develop.

I’d be happy with Baron the exact kind of player we should be investing in. Can see with Hickey Ferguson Doig etc etc that there’s talent in this division and we should be sweeping them up before the bigger leagues come calling. Him, Rice and Raskin could be our defensive midfielders for years to come and all have potential for big sell on. Would like the young lad from killie as well.

If this boy is indeed out of contract at the end of the season (can anyone confirm this? ), and we can sign him on a pre contract, I'd be doing everything in my power to get the boy to sign. There is definitely something about Barron, and I would love us to sign him.

Todd Cantwell to be sold in January the new manager obviously doesn't rate him, unless he's injured to take him off and keep Lammers on say's it all.

Two things, Greeley, I really don't believe that Cantrell is fully fit and he had been booked. Once he is back to full fitness he will be a major asset to the team.

I also hope it's nonsense but the manager's comments after the game hinting that Cantwell was taken off partially because he was on a yellow slightly tenuous also he said it was tactical surly moving Cantwell into the middle and subbing Lammers would have been the more obvious decision.

I personally don't think Cantwell has been playing great, perhaps lack of match fitness is the reason. The manager made a great decision at half time to bench him and bring on SW. Lammers still offers nothing.

Young players need to be playing not parked on a bench to fill a quota.
Looked at Hibs lineup the other day 1scottish player our teams are not developing players buying foreign duds even though it is not improving Thier results.

Todd cantwell will fit into clements plans perfectly well.
He had a bit of strapping in the week leading hot game then got a silly early booking.
Clement took him off as 1. He wasn’t ? fit anyway and 2. Had picked up a daft booking and the games tight at 0-0.
Was the correct decision to make.
If cantwell was fit and hadn’t been booked he’d have put wright in for lammers and moved Todd inside to the 10.
Wright was coming in for tactical reasons but the choice of Todd and lammers was easy due to above reasons.
Todd will be a regular starter for us going forward and a star player.

I've said many times I think rangers plan is to sign players young like rice keep them at the club 3 years regardless and then move them on so if they turn out good in future career we can bring them back as a club trained player.

The message that signing barron would send to rice is, if you are young and Scottish we want you in the team so make sure you standout and always raise your game above those around you. If rice makes it he has raised it if not we need the best we can get.

Always felt the model we should be adopting is signing the best players from our league young or old with Lewis Ferguson, Doig, Hickey, to name a few who have went for fees we can afford and have instantly shot up in value.
If we sign this young player from Aberdeen we give him a chance and he’s not ready you loan him back out to other side in our league so he can’t play against us while he continues to develop.
Even experienced players like Shankland, Nesbit, Porteous and Boyle would be good additions that are less risky than foreign players.

For rangers it makes sense to sign these guys as we need Scottish trained players from rangers point of view it's smart.
And on raskin the facts are there for you all to check there's nothing wrong with his ability my point again was why would we get rid of jack a SCOTTISH TRAINED player when we don't have enough of them already it also doubles into my point a few months ago of jack would be more available when needed and not be injured as much when he's a back up player.
Which is turning out to be the case so makes no sense to get rid of him right now.

Also Davie, how is Barron a free if he is under 24years old is the rule on free agents not age dependent or on other club releasing him? In other words, there would be a fee. Nominal probably, but still a fee.
Look, I agree with your assessment he's a decent player for his age and a good low risk signing, but we must find a way to keep the likes of rice happy who I feel has more potential than Barron.

Gresley the manager played a blinder by subbing him. He was awful and Wright changed the game, then against Slavia Cantwell has his best game. Yet you still seem to think taking Lammers off was better. Leave the management to PC, yeh!
