Anybody know the reason for James Tavernier not attending the spfl sponsors captain's lunch yesterday? I get we don't want to put the sponsors name up at ibrox or on shirt but refusing our captain for a lunch smacks of childish behaviour.

The SPL are actually more to blame than us as they made the agreement with CINCH having full knowledge and disclosure of our pre existing agreement with Parks of Hamilton.

Let's not kid on, this whole dispute is because Park doesn't want a rival car retail brand advertising at Ibrox. Other reasons might have been brought into it, but that's the primary incentive. The whole thing is extremely childish.

I am truly getting fed up with the way our club is dealing with this kind of thing. Yes, I understand that we are within our rights to reject the sponsors as it conflicts with an existing deal, but there is plenty of room in the market for both companies! I feel we are scoring a major own goal with this. If, as I suspect, we are the only Premier League club not to be represented it makes us look petty.

If the SPL undersell our league potential and clutch at an unsuitable sponsor, then this sort of thing will happen. we cannot be seen beside any advertising which does not align with the clubs responsibilities.

Ref. Cinch sponsorship. Scottish administration accepted an 8million deal for 4 years, to be shared by all clubs. Rangers were 100% correct not to participate in this 3rd rate deal. Spurs alone get 10million for 1 year.
Why did Doncaster and his pals accept such a pittance. Possibly individual payments a factor.

RFCRB, why is it childish?
The club entered into a commercial agreement with Parks giving them exclusivity over car sales - the SFA were informed but signed a very poor deal with Cinch that overlapped with Parks exclusivity.
The fact that Parks are related is irrelevant - if Tennents sponsored Ibrox they would not allow Heineken to have branding.

I’m well aware fan based media face a £25k paywall - I’m glad it’s there. It ensures those who do enter the Ibrox conference room will treat our staff with respect less they have their passes pulled. It also ensures only the better and more credible element gets to conduct those interviews. Think back to when Ange was appointed and there was Monica Celtic fans telling him “don’t take it on the chin like Tony Mowbray, call out the bias, the media aren’t your friend’s we are, etc’ - Embarrassing. When Warburton was in charge the press were like a pack of hungry wolves and he had to embarrassingly walk out a presser after Jim Traynor pulled the plug. The press sat there defiantly saying they’ll ask any questions the want - Because there was no consequences. The same media that worked for companies such as the Daily Record that used vile bigoted language to describe Rangers fans on their personal accounts. The Daily Record said the were conducting an independent investigation what ever happened to that?
Fan media only. Rangers should not talk to any other media unless contractually obligated too. The guys who are paying the £25k (Heart in Hand, Ibrox Rocks, Rangers Review) get the access and I’m glad this is now the setup. The MSM kicked our club from pillar to post for 10 years ago the gate is now closed to them.

It's all to do with contracts and conflicts of interests. This is why Rangers engaged with the SPFL before they signed it, also a big part of why Rangers have won in court.
I'm sick of fans kicking off at the club for things that thet don't know or understand. Legally binding contracts forbid Cinch or any other getting the visibility that was sold by the SPFL board.
You can say petty but a legal contract is there to protect all brands involved.
