From the very limited amount I’ve seen of Doehki he looks like an ideal replacement for Goldson is he was to go, very similar player in style and play. Loves a diagonal as well . Will be interesting to see what happens . Couldn’t really care about Ferguson I think that’s just his name doing the job for him rather than his ability IMHO.

From what I have seen of Ferguson I don't really get the fuss. but Gio and his team seem to be able to develop players and improve them. There's a fair few in the squad who have really upped their game and perhaps Gio could elevate Ferguson's game and mould him into a top player?

Ferguson has age on his side and can play. Some in our midfield are ageing. Plus he is Scottish. If the right price could be a good signing.

The thing we need to look at with Ferguson is at his age he is probably one of the more accomplished Scottish players. Great SPL experience some European experience and has plenty potential for improvement. The 3 mentioned wouldn't be the Aberdeen player I would be hoping for. Me personally I think the young right back Calvin Ramsey I'm sure his name is would be the pick of the bunch. Bring him in, improve him and sell on for profit. Would also look at young doig the LB from hibs and have him battle it out with Bassey for next season.

Given all the players that will be leaving on frees we will need to make five or six new signings this close season and they won't all be top drawer. In that respect Ferguson isn't a bad shout so long as he is not a crazy price. Just looking at the Herald, (I only do this when I am visiting Scotland), and it is quite clear that we lost the league this season because the Celtic Manager made five good quality signings known to him. We arguably only made one good signing, (Lundstram), and it took him time to settle in. I would much rather that Gio named the players he wants this time round and then it is up to Wilson and his Board to do the deals!

At £5m there is better available John. I fear that he will deteriorate if he stays at Aberdeen and I struggle to see anyone spending that sort of money on him. I see his contract does not expire until the summer of 2024. He might be an option next summer if we are still looking for a Midfield Player when Aberdeen will need to sell or risk losing him for free the following January.

Ferguson is nowhere near the standard we need. Neither is Doig nor Porteous imo.
