Unfortunately I actually agree regarding roofe. No doubt the guy has talent but he gets injured too often and then takes too long to get up to match fitness before getting injured again. It’s a vicious cycle.
If we get an offer for roofe I would take it.
For jack I would give him more time to regain his fitness, because unlike roofe I think we would be more difficult to replace and I can’t remember his fitness being an issue prior to this season.

As players if and when match fit i like them but come on as a business sense we cany be paying players that's injury prone we just cany afford to pay injured players all the time.

Roofe hasn't become an unfit injury prone player. That's how we got him so cheap because he missed lots of games with his past two clubs because he's always been injury prone. If he wasn't injury prone he wouldn't be playing for us he would be making big bucks elsewhere.

I was worried from the start about signing Roofe. I am gutted that he can't put a decent run of games together because he is a real talent when fit. I agree that we should probably try to recoup some of the money we spent on him. His injury record is like Darren Andertons🙈
Great player, he's actually surprised me a bit how good he is but he's no use to us on the treatment table.

John, I don't see anyone above denying Roofes talent. He is a cracking player. i'm sure if we could keep him fit most people would want him to stay, myself included. Sometimes it's like spending money continually fixing a car if I can use that as an ananology. You fix one problem and another comes along quickly after that. Someone above says its just a calf strain that he has. that's what he came with and that's what put him out for nearly 2 months after getting fit.
Unfortunately there are some examples of some great players being let go or sold on the cheap because their clubs had to make a tough decision based on their injury record. We were just linked with Wilshere, great player but would he have been worth the risk? Who knows. Daniel Sturridge was a top centre forward, again always injured. Andy Carroll isn't everyone's cup of tea but another who was let go by his club because they couldn't justify keeping him on the payroll because of injury. Santi Cazorla was famously let go by Arsenal because of his injuries.
We signed Roofe knowing about his injuries. That was a huge risk. He's been great when he is fully fit but someone again said up above, it normally takes him longer than most to get up to full speed when he is back in the team. Unfortunately football is a business and is cut throat at times but at some point maybe a business decision has to be taken rather than a footballing one. If someone offered 5m for Roofe I think we should seriously consider it even although his talent would make him worth more than that. Every injury that occurs with someone already tagged as injury prone devalues them further and costs their current club even more.

Jack has been a great player since he came to us, and even though I think he should be one of the first picks in the side, there's no getting away from the fact he has missed over 50 games since he signed.
Just like Jack, Roofe has major injury issues, but it's pretty hypocritical to brand one a liability, while the other gets a pass.
The one difference I would say is that Jack fits straight back into the team when he returns from injury, whereas, Roofe takes a bit of time getting up to speed, then when he does, it's not long again until he's injured.
Just a couple of questions. Who thought Roofe was a liability when he pulled us out a hole with his goals against Motherwell. Who thought he was a liability after his wonder strike in Europa League?
If we're willing to give Jack time, we need to give Roofe time to see If we can get on top of his injuries.

I trust the management from top to bottom. What they decide is fine with me. I suppose I am one that you could call hypocritical because I don't feel the same way about Jack as I do Roofe. I don't feel like he's missed as many games as is stated above but it's because it's over a longer period than Roofe I guess.
I think everyone above has stated they think Roofe and Jack are smashing players but they are entitled to their opinion on whether its cost effective to keep them at the club. Its not about a desire to break up a winning side.
Jack stays in my hypocritical opinion🤣 Roofe I feel there is a decision to be made. No use having a Rolls Royce and keeping it parked in the garage🤷â€â™‚ï¸.
