Saw on the Rangers News website there is reports from belgium that we have tried to take roofe on a loan with an option to buy that has been rejected.

Cheeky effort, was never going to be accepted but you don’t ask you don’t get 😂.

29 Jun 2020 12:45:42
If that's true alarm bells are ringing!

29 Jun 2020 12:50:47
And why is that Stuart’y.

29 Jun 2020 13:36:44
Wise move to be honest
This route suggests Morelos to stay and see how roofe does, plays well adapts etc then Morelos will possibly be sold.

Alarm bells are ringing lol
Gees a break they just done same with hagi and spend on him it what clubs do same as just a loan deal smell. tic do the same loan deals etc.

29 Jun 2020 13:47:44
Exactly intr. this is a time to be cautious.

29 Jun 2020 14:11:47
I thought we were getting rid of Tavenier Goldson Kamara and Morelos.

29 Jun 2020 14:17:02
Aye alarm bells. Asking a club who are desperate to hold on to their main striker if we can take him on loan? What would you say if a club came in and enquired about Morelos on loan and they'll 'maybe' buy him later? Ain't going to happen and it's a waste of everyones time. Not sure i even believe we were daft enough to ask the question tbh but who knows.

29 Jun 2020 15:54:33
Not sure why asking about the availability of a player on loan with option to buy is that crazy.
Genk payed over£4m for hagi, 5months later he signs on loan for gers. Rangers have then bought the lad.
Loan with option to buy happens all the time in football.
Still waiting to hear why 'alarm bells are ringing' though? 🤔.

29 Jun 2020 15:56:15
Stuarty IMO that's the way we should be doing business instead of spending 6 or 7 million and guy turns out to be a flop like grezda and co. can't risk that type of money any more. Done it with both kent and now hagi. Need to know they are worth the fee. That and using the over border compensation for talented young players from england will be our transfer strategy. We will buy young talented players with big potential cheap, develop them then sell on at big profits making our club self sustaining instead of needing to depend on king, park and co.

and it all depends who is reporting and how they interpret what they hear/ read

One report stated that Roofe's club was offered £7 million;
and, another stated that it was a loan and possibly 6 million Euros next year;
and yet, another states that Rangers have offered only £4.5 million for his signature

IMHO I don't think any of them are true, he is injury prone and gone way off the boil, so offering millions as potential or as a gamble is not in Rangers or SG's interest. He needs a certainty not a maybe.

Correct stuart83 this is the way forward for RFC.

29 Jun 2020 16:11:26
Aye Stuart it's frustrating spending decent money on the Grezda's of this world and it doesn't work out. If we are wanting a fringe player or youth then loaning with an option to buy is the way to go but if it's a guy like Roofe who his club want to hold on to and features prominently for them then we'll have to get our hand in our pocket. We wouldn't let Alfie go unless we were getting paid upfront.

29 Jun 2020 23:10:05
Why the alarm bells though Stuarty. is it time you woke up?

30 Jun 2020 00:49:42
Mols. I woke up this morning like most people mate. It's a cheeky pointless approach and nobody at Anderlecht would have taken it seriously! What's the point? Is there a bigger picture? I hope so! It's just pointless posturing! Our fans would go mental if we let Alfie leave on loan! It's silly games and not serious business and i find that alarming.
