I read we are being linked with Dion mcghee who is a bosman from Manchester United having turned down a contract. 19 year old midfield player. I haven't seen him but my father in law is a huge united fan and thinks this boy could come into our first team squad.

Agree4 Disagree0

Another youngster when are we actually going to get linked to a name we know this is becoming a farce the amount of youngsters we are trying to sign we have 1 more chance to stop 10 in a row so 3 and 4 years time for these players is no use.

19 Jun 2020 15:41:35
Have faith Stiv there ll be a few fire sales to come.

19 Jun 2020 15:55:46
Stigno 19 year olds play first team and international football.

19 Jun 2020 15:59:07
Now is the time to hoover up all the young talent we can, and if it can be done as early as possible that’s better, bigger money deals will usually drag on and take longer to happen.

19 Jun 2020 16:04:24
Just because some people dream up names to link us with, it doesn't mean we are actually pursuing them, Stiv. It's on here because it's a rumour, nothing more. I'm sure that when the time is right the management will do what they've been doing all along, keeping the real targets close to their chest then revealing them as signed players.

19 Jun 2020 16:31:28
The unwashed signed frimpong on similar deals and he done well for their first team.

19 Jun 2020 19:43:37
It's a total shambles do yous honestly think players like that are going to stop 10 get a grip we need better than that and stop with the blue tinted glasses and wake up. the standard of player we are trying to sign is nowhere near goid enough it's been proven year in year out not even close to being good enough but yous all live in a fantasy world where Gerrard and recruitment team can do no wrong look at signings over last 2 years and compare who's made it and who hasn't il give you 10 right off the cuff who has been shocking Barker Ejaria Ojo Sadiq Flanagan Hastie not given a chance but hardly an inspired signing Jones hasn't worked so far although has ability no doubt letting Candeias go after ommiting him from Euro squad no wonder he asked to leave not signing another striker at start of last season so going into a season with 2 strikers 1 of whom guarantees to miss at 7 games a season because if suspension then we have Lafferty Polster Andy King I mean who is actually sanctioning this it's a shambles and that's harsh truth on matter.

Who would you like us to be signing stiv65?🤔
We've signed hagi and a lad from Leicester.
Everyone else have been rumours, this is a rumours site, so folk are responding to these rumours.
Maybe wait and see who actually signs before going off on one? 😉.

19 Jun 2020 20:53:21
How many has SG and RW? actually think this pairing could work cz the bloody last 1 didnt- clearly.

19 Jun 2020 21:06:34
Stiv its not 10
We ve improved year on year look a t Europe
We don't have a well of money
We had them before Xmas
No team in the world has 100% success rate with signings
As I said in earlier post we need to wait on the fire sales of other clubs to get the best value and buy when the market is low
Give Wilson and bisgrove a chance not long in post.

19 Jun 2020 21:24:14
I have to agree with stiv65 here there have been more bad signings than good, I’d have to add Kent to that list given what he done and his price tag, grezda was a disaster, Greg Stewart is a decent player but never given a chance Helander has done nothing for us so far, we need to move some of these guys on and sign some genuine experienced talent. 4-5 top players are miles better than 8-10 diddys but probably cost around the same money we definitely need to be smarter with signings.

19 Jun 2020 23:20:27
Been a few shockers in recent seasons tbh from SG and Pedro.

This is big summer and hopefully we turn disaster of C.V. into a positive and find some real gems.

This lad has been in the man its academy since he was 8 and united wanted to keep him. Have competition from EPL and also Portugal with both Porto and benfica being linked. Stiv65 this is the market we should be in. Get the cross border bosma for fraction of the value. English clubs have been doing it to us for years. Celtic have been using this system buying young talent and selling at profits and had a few success stories with dembele, ntcham and the young RB frimpong and to an extent edouard. If they are good enough they are old enough.
I would get used to this tactic as it is our business strategy. Young players with huge potential, develop them and sell on at big profits with sell on clause. Just need bit of luck. Think if Wilson can be as effective with us as he was for Southampton we have a bright future. We could through money to stop 10 or could bring these talents in and dominate for way longer than 10 years.

Have to agree Bellshill, we need to be in the mix for these young British academy players as the English translation are looking at the best academy youngsters from abroad rather than focusing on their own, hence why they are all going to Germany, Portugal etc and rangers need to make it as attractive as possible for these players to choose rangers as a viable path.

In terms of our signings I think you can see we have had a load of rubbish for years and Mark Allan was the one who has done the most of these deals. Grezda, Barker, Jones, Sadiq etc

The ones Gerrard's accountable for are Ejaria, Ojo, Flanagan

Helander was looking immense when he got injured in the final so you can not state he has been a bad signing. Same with Kent big fee and when we were playing well and winning he was great but when we went off the boil he suffered as did everyone in the squad.

Rangers are looking at 4 first team players but also looking at back filing the gaps in production line in the academy within certain age groups, due to the lack of investment in the youth post 2017. The academy will start to produce but due to these issues we need to be creative and Benin for the best players within the age groups where we are packing potential players that are good enough but also ready (that is a big thing as us fans can kill and youngster in less than 20 mins of footy)

I agree Detm1988. The lower divisions are full of players who had "potential". Not every young player can handle the pressure. When the team suffers they suffer more.

20 Jun 2020 10:05:39
shagger69, I sent your last post on to Bletchley Park, they are going to get back to me.

20 Jun 2020 10:31:45
Detmcclane while I agree with some of your points it has to be said the bringing youth players through to the first team is super difficult there are 100 reasons why a top top young player won’t make it as a pro most don’t! I’ve lost count of the players I grew up with, I watched my nephew playing against and now my son playing against that I thought had the ability to go all the way and 99.9% don’t it’s a dangerous game to put all our eggs in that basket and I know we won’t a blend of youth and experience is essential but it would be nice to see a top player that we know will make a difference get a mention. bellshilllad to say that going down this route could mean us dominating for more than 10 years is utter nonsense once we’re properly back on our feet and win a title I very much doubt anyone will go on a run of even 3-4 titles never mind 10 that mob wouldn’t be anywhere near it if it hadn’t been for our collapse in 2012.

20 Jun 2020 14:28:51
If good enough their old enough. With exception of McCrorie none of our own young ones are good enough.

21 Jun 2020 14:17:55
I agree with your first part Bankie. However, IMO there are a few players from the academy that have a good chance of being part of the first team. For example, Nathan Patterson looked good when he played last year. There are others that will come good. Otherwise why have rangers invested so heavily in the academy?

21 Jun 2020 14:59:40
Some young players take longer than others to reach there potential. Some never will. Sink or swim. Not every young player is a Barry ferguson or Ian Durrant. SG will have to decide who is ready for the First Team Squad.
