Reading reports circuling this morning, in various media outlets, that japan based scot and property mogul stuart gibson, is the mystery investor who's about to plough millions into rangers. Certainly looks very good and if he does become a very prominent player in our boardroom, his knowledge of the asian market (china,
japan, south korea etc), could be absolutely brilliant for our club!

Hi Steven,

Doubt even if it's true he won't be investing anytime soon 'till the football restarts . Would you? .

Yes blue billy. Why wait,

17 Mar 2020 13:16:01
I would wait to see if players/ staff etc. are covered by insurance John.

SGL you mean like Woldhardt, Taylor and the rest who were supposed to throw many millions at us and introduce loads of new investment from the Far East? Another Rhebel flyer that I will treat with great caution until money actually appears. Too many false dawns in that respect makes me a natural cynic. Money men do not tend to part with loads of the stuff for altruistic reasons.

Blue billy I don’t really understand your post.
Yes Covenanter let’s wait and see what is to happen, this is a share issue not a takeover.

I seem to remember that Whyte had wealth off the scale lol.

Lets hope this is not a repeat.

Hi John25,

If the aforementioned are not covered by insurance (act of god ie) I would not invest my money just to keep the club alive untill further funds are required to compete at top of the league.

If I was investing millions, it would be to compete wi the mhanks and get to be the champions again then hopefully get a return on my investement. (just like the mhanks O'leary and Liewell do) .

I don't believe anyone would throw millions down the pan just because they were Rangers fans.

Don't know if that helps explain what I mean tho.

Blue billy I see where u r coming from.
Also lots of negative press re Gibson. Board don’t believe he has the cash. He has managed assets, he does not own them.
Let’s be cautious folks. Good move king and others not selling their shares as this would put us once again in a precarious position.

18 Mar 2020 14:20:29
When there is a new shares issue, Gibson and others will be offered them, along with the current investors and board members. The money raised will pay off loans currently owed and create a slightly bigger transfer chest, that's all.
Far from being a 'mogul' Gibson is an expert asset manager, it's not his money that makes his business so wealthy on paper. £20m is not going to appear from this individual or any other individual, nor will a sum such as that be invested straight into the club.
Sorry to be such a party pooper, but these are the plain facts.

Spot on covenanter,

Tired wi this "speculation" of a billionare investor season after season that results in nothing.
Even Dave King has his doubts now.

Whyte is the proof that the vultures have been circling our club for years in the hope of getting our club for property developers.

Untill I see the millions in our coffers then and only then will I believe and accept I was wrong .

18 Mar 2020 14:45:59
I agree with u Covenanter.

18 Mar 2020 15:05:37
John, i hope mr gibson is for real, i think he will be, and dave king and the board are all shrewd business men, they are going the right way about this new chapter, it makes good reading, for sure, so i hope all is real and genuine.

18 Mar 2020 20:05:24
THIS IS GOING TO BE THE BEGINNING OF A NEW DAWN, Mark my words!

I understand the skepticism here and why. just to say his connections if nothing else are incredible. investment banks involved in his South Korean portfolio alone include one run by the former secretary of the U. S. treasury.

19 Mar 2020 13:17:46
Eric Blair, his contacts are no more or no less incredible than Woldhardt or Taylor, both of whom in the near past were lauded on here as our saviours, bringing many millions with them on the way to the boardroom. It just hasn't happened, nor, as I explained above, will it happen this time. Connections pay for nothing.
