Pleased for the boy. Needs game time.

Have to admit I thought he done plenty when he came into the side to merit fighting for starting 11 this season.

We have to trust steven gerrard on what's best for ross mccrorie, at this moment in time. I certainly trust the manager and agree with him, by sending young mccrorie out on loan, to get game time. With our wealth of midfielders, ross mccrorie just wouldn't get into our midfield just now. Hope it is portsmouth that mccrorie goes on loan to. They're a good club, that will help on the next stage of ross mccrorie's development. Just look how well greg docherty did down at shrewsbury town last season. Mccrorie should look no further than doch and how well it worked out for him. definitely could be the making of mccrorie.

I agree jzer. He is definitely a bit raw around the edges but he has a big heart and is a hundred percenter. Abd he can certainly play. Pity, but I hope he rips it up at Portsmouth.

Game time? This is effectively a sale like Jamie Murphy to us was. Why would we loan McCrorie out - he's played 55 times for us. Not like he needs to learn. He needs to play, and if he's not going to play for us he'll move on. Portsmouth want an option to buy and I think it's best if we include one. If McCrorie isn't part of Stevie's plans next season, can't see him ever being in them.

He's loaning ross mccrorie out to portsmouth, because he can't guarantee him much game time mate.
It worked for doch. If gerrard can't give him game time its the correct decision, so he's at least playing first team football. You never know what could happen in a year rfcrb1872!Steven Davis will be 35/ 36 years old by then. Also we could sell one of our midfielders, if a big bid comes in. I think its the correct decision, at this moment in time.

Looks like Portsmouth to get option to buy. This is a big mistake.

In my opinion Ross came booming in to the team a while back and showed he had raw passion but showed only glimpses of technical ability so for me I can't see a better option that letting him move on loan to see if he can add some confidence and test himself. For me a sale should be considered as I don't see him being integral to our midfield in the future .

If loan deal proceeds certainly should be no option to purchase and would include option to recall in January. Actually would prefer for the boy to remain at Ibrox. Thought he was excellent when came on last season to help close out matches and also provides cover on central defence.

John 25

Wouldn't read to much into the option? (I hope) just protects Portsmouth from doing the work and someone else picking him up for nothing -they still have to pay the best price and we have to decide to sell.

Deeb not what I'm hearing.

05 Jul 2019 15:56:24
The agreement is that they have first option to buy. if rangers decide to sell next year, if we do decide to sell then there is a value agreed in principle, a lot needs to Happen between now and then, plus Ross would have to agree to the permanent move in a year's time.
