Davis permanent deal almost complete and by what Kent's saying there is a REAL possibility of not only getting him back for next season but being able to get him on a Permanent deal.
It's the tabloids who have been valuing him at £9m.
I realistically think we could push the boat out and get him for £4-5m plus add ons
It would explain our strategy of signing younger players on less wages and no transfer fees to help accommodate a cpl of signings of this standard.
Pena, Herrera and Wallace's wages are £70k a year between them off the wage bill.
Can see Rossiter, Holt, Dodoo, Dorrans, Lafferty, Grezda, Alnwick and Foderingham to name a few being offloaded in summer to generate another couple of million in fees and saving us another £80k in wages.
That's before Alfredo's fee and wages, futures bright.

Glasgow ranger pena, Herrera and Wallace wage bill together is a lot more than 70k a year more like 70k a week between them.

02 May 2019 12:23:26
I think he meant a week, just a misprint, that was a good well thought out post GR.

Dissapointed that we are keeping Davis. If he was playing well then maybe but I think they wages could be used elsewhere. We need youth and pace in the midfield. Also a solid unit. Davis doesn't match any of them. I agree with the post above. I lot of players needing off the wage bill. Perhaps keep Rossiter but I'm not sure. Dorrans is another. Need shot of.

Kent is worth more than 4-5 Million. Liverpool know they will get more than that with the current crazy fees. I wouldn’t pay that for him anyway. 6 goals and 6 assists in just under 35 games? I’d expect double that from a Rangers wide player who are more often than not on the front foot playing teams on a tenth of their budget. A loan deal I would 100% welcome. Davis has found some form of late and probably deserves another year. There will be a few out the door and 1 or 2 that might raise a few eyebrows.

As1974 I wasn’t overly keen on Davis returning but now he is match fit and up to speed you can’t say he’s playing not playing well. I’d offload both Dorrans and Rossiter if I’m honest.

02 May 2019 13:22:09
davis will help the younger lads.

the guy is a model professional.

02 May 2019 13:38:25
As 1974 so you would keep rossiter and let Davis go 🤣🎃 you don't need to say anything else.

02 May 2019 14:04:21
Two points on this - with a full pre-season behind them Davis and Dorrans along with Arfield will hands down be the best midfield trio in Scotland. Would be very surprised and disappointed if we let go of Dorrans. He's a friend of my cousin, who is an ex-teammate, and he says he played through the pain barrier his first season despite never being more than 50% as he is a die hard bluenose and that Gerrard had to basically force him to take this entire season to get right. Gerrard rates him and has wrapped him in cotton wool this year because he wants him in his starting 11 next year.

02 May 2019 14:09:14
Get Davis and keep rossiter, we need a squad not eleven players.

02 May 2019 14:32:30
Davis is dictating the game now, part of the reason why we are playing so well. As1974 sorry mate but what you are saying is just pure p1$h👍.

02 May 2019 15:03:04
agreed keep davis I was wanting him away at the start but now clear he wasn't match fit. has played brilliant last 4 or 5 games. rossiter holt Docherty for me can all leave. although I do like rossiter.

02 May 2019 15:48:27
I think Docherty will be a big player for us. Has bags of ability, a great engine and can score when he powers forward. Can’t understand people wanting rid of him. Gerrard rates him and knowing both him and his family, he is desperate to shine in blue and win trophies at Rangers.

02 May 2019 16:04:49
I'd want to see Docherty have a season out on loan in the SPL to see him in the environment, next season will be important for him I think. Someone like Allan Campbell would be a better option to bring in IMO however.

02 May 2019 17:03:26
Ibroxforme Gerrard rates him that much he was deemed not good enough to get in our midfield this season. hence why shipped out on loan to League 1. not doubting he's a decent we player. BUT. arfield jack mccrorie kamara davis are all better footballers than him. So if he did join the squad again he will only get handful of games. not what the kid is wanting at his age. can also add a fit graham dorrans to that list.

02 May 2019 18:47:42
Gerard did not rate alves who is now
Playing for AC Millan
He now rates Greg Stewart and young
Hastie looks like he building capable of finnishing at least second next season.

02 May 2019 20:27:14
Just my opinion but I think he does rate him and there’s very regular contact. England League 1 largely a better standard than SPL. Whatever, we’ll see what the gaffer does.

02 May 2019 21:07:18
alves doesn't play for ac milan.

02 May 2019 21:33:17
Is there any chance we can raid Motherwell again for Turnbull, he is undoubtedly the pick of their Academy.

02 May 2019 22:06:43
Macbow when did alves sign for AC milan. He signnon a pre contract? Thought he was at mid table parma?

02 May 2019 22:43:41
So what's Davis done since he came in? We need to forgot his first stint with us and just judge him as a player now. He's on crazy wages and for me he doesn't justify it.
I said I'm not sure about Rossiter.

03 May 2019 08:09:14
wagman I don’t know where to start with your post. He’s forced him to take the full season to get right? Surgery has forced him out for long periods over the last two seasons. I’m not convinced he’s in the long term plans. The chances are he remains as it might be difficult to offload him. And him being a big bluenose blah blah so are we! Can we get a game. He’s played to play football and his injury record of late is terrible.

03 May 2019 15:51:10
Rossiter will never play for Rangers again.
