Too many
folk on hear at the wind up - deal should go through , however not until Monday , the deal is stalling on the liability for the hmrc outcome , however I will point out that this lies totally with the Murray group as this is the way it was paid to the accounts not from rangers but from Murray group - fact

Rangers have made a statement to the stock exchange to deny that Alistair Johnston said they could go bust. I thought the BBC was supposed to report news not come up with sensationalists stories. Having said that they are one of the worst for sport news.

Breaking news!

Takeover has fallen through, Craig whyte has withdrawn his deal to buy Rangers as lloyd banking group are lowering there price but David murray wants more than orignally stated and won't take responsibility for HMRC tax fines. Due to this, Rangers will have to pay back at least £30 millions to HMRC and still owe lloyds £20 which means this could be the end of Rangers.

sources are going to be BBC and STV very soon keep watching.

Well to be honest im not sure the takeover will go thro. Just listening to DJ on real radio last night (he will obv have som sorta inside knowledge) and he said on air that there was "defo one major stumbling block that he KNOWS of that will scupper the deal between Murray and Whyte at which point Roughie then said that if its the thing you were telling me about then I agree, I just can't see it going thro" ok it might not be word for word but its pretty much what he said. Hope to god he is wrong tho cos I dread to think what the stumbling block is.

Dont wanna be the "bearer" of bad news boyz, but i blody hate being in the dark especially for this length of time and to gettin told absolutely nuthin!

Bartley may return next season but has played his last game for ragers this season out for 3 months so isaway back to arsenal for treatment.
even if the takeover goes through mccoist won't buy diouf although hes does want to buy forster.
he will have to sell 1 first team member and he wants it to be mccgregor as he rates alexander and see we have the most cover in that position.
hes happy that all charges are gonna be dropped against goodwillie(also dundee utd are confident that's why they just gave him a new contract) so he is willing to pay the 2 million buy out clause in his new contact as he rates him one of the best young strikers in europe if they can't raise the funds for him he is also highly keen on adam rooney.
reliable source paul jackson the rangers doctor is my uncle.and before you start no mccoist didn't come telling him what his plans were but when your that close to all the coaching and backroom staff you do hear things.

Reported on BBC and STV websites that Lloyds have agreed terms with Craig Whyte which clears any obstacles for the proposed takeover. Whyte must now make a bid for Murray's shares and if accepted, the deal is all but done. Purchase price will drop by £4 million or more due to Rangers' debt to Lloyds having decreased. Great news at last for WATP!

30 Mar 2011 11:35:47
EGM vote at Worthington Group PLC at 3.30pm today to change the structure of the company and allow share issues and a lot more freedom for the company to issue shares and new direction.

Craig Whyte owns 8% of this company and his collegues were voted onto the board in the last 6 months and hold the vast majority. Buying of stakes in this company started in Feb 10' when Andrew Ellis first expressed interest in Rangers.

He will use this as a reverse vehicle for Rangers FC being listed on the LSE or funding to help purchase Rangers. Other funding will come from Merchant Corporate PLC, Merchant Turnaround PLC and Merchant Strategic PLC that have around £5million in funds to invest in turnaround situations.

Awaiting a positive vote at Worthington could be the real reason for the hold up here, if the resolutions are passed expect movements in the next few days.

I think some of the takeover rumours are complete nonsense and made up by people with little intelligence and a lot of time.

The £1 million? Might be true because RFC have taken a long term loan much like a mortgage and there might be an early exit fee. However, any bank would waive that fee to get their money back and avoid being part of a club that could go into administration if the HMRC case goes against RFC. Better to get something rather than nothing.

Once the takeover is complete how could the bank possibly maintain its position on the board. The bank would have no influence on RFC in any way and could no longer dictate financial constraints on the club.

Im with you Ed, don't think it would be a stumbling block. It seems as if its just brinkmanship on Craig Whytes part. You know, see who blinks first sort of thing.

Either way there is no point in getting embroiled in it, we will know when they announce either way.

SPL - Bank want 'unsustainable' cuts at RangersSun, 27 Mar 21:38:00 2011

EmailPrintCraig Whyte's protracted bid to take over Rangers enters a critical stage in the coming week with Lloyds Bank believed to be the main stumbling block to the deal being concluded.

SPL table
. The £33 million bid will see the Scottish tycoon take over 75 per cent of Sir David Murray's shareholding, with London-based property developer Andrew Ellis becoming a 25 per cent partner.

However, Press Association Sport understands that the bank's desire for an 'exit payment' of more than £1m is one of the key stumbling blocks. Moreover, the severity of the cuts that the bank want to impose on the club for the start of next season is "unsustainable", according to a source close to the deal.

Those issues are sure to anger the Light Blues' supporters, who are expected to be told this week when figures are released that the club's debt has been slashed to around £21m from the £27.1m figure announced in June.

Talks will continue this week but Whyte is desperate for the deal to be done by Thursday, with the following day, April 1, being ruled out.

London-based Whyte appeared to be on course to complete a buyout when he reached an agreement in principle with majority shareholder Murray in early December, but various reported deadlines have come and gone.

Whyte had confirmed to the Stock Exchange in November he was considering making an offer for Rangers and was in talks with Murray International Holdings.

He then held talks with Murray and Rangers chairman Alastair Johnston last year but there is real frustration in the Whyte camp that the deal is still not done.

The takeover plans include vows to wipe out the debt and invest £25m in the team over a five-year period.

Craig Whyte's takeover of Rangers could be concluded by next Friday, Press Association Sport understands.
A long-running saga is set to come to an end, leaving the Scottish tycoon in control of the Ibrox club, along with partner Andrew Ellis.
The deal will see Whyte take over 75% of Sir David Murray's shareholding, with London-based property developer Ellis becoming a 25% partner.
A source close to negotiations told Press Association Sport: "Everyone involved is working very hard to get the deal done.
"There are still a number of areas yet to be resolved and there are no guarantees but we are getting closer and all parties want to get it over the line.
"There is a confidence that if the deal is not done by next week then it certainly will be done in the next fortnight."
Whyte appeared to be on course to complete a buyout when he reached an agreement in principle with majority shareholder Murray in early December but various reported deadlines came and went leading to speculation that the takeover bid had come to nothing.
London-based Whyte had confirmed to the Stock Exchange in November he was considering making an offer for Rangers and was in talks with Murray International Holdings.
He then held talks with Murray and Rangers chairman Alastair Johnston last year, apparently convincing them of his credentials to take the club forward.
However, the due diligence process has proved more lengthy than those involved in the deal initially envisaged.
Rangers have recently been hampered by their debt, which stood at £27.1million in June, although more up-to-date figures expected out any day should confirm a further decrease in the debt levels.
The takeover plans include vows to wipe out the debt and invest £25million in the team over a five-year period and it is understood that assistant manager Ally McCoist will be boss for the start of next season.
Whyte is expected to be at tonight's Europa League second-leg clash with PSV Eindhoven at Ibrox.

With rangers supposed to relase the mid year figures about 2 weeks ago and have put them off and off you will see this as grahm spiers has been posting about it for 2 weeks what are the chances of the takeover been anounced aswell (Ed what are the chances of this ) {Ed001's Note - I think that is very likely to be the reason for the hold off as well.}

14 Mar 2011 17:19:35
McCoist was asked yesterday about Conway and goodwillie being his 1st 2 signings and his replay was he likes both the players but he doesent know what's going to happen tomorrow never mind the summer regarding money.

U are right in saying the scottish media are good at sniffing out any information in advance. but they don't know everything that goes on. and by the way yes i am a bluenose!

Re: It wasnt me that accused u of being a timothy, It wasme that replied about the media tho. . And the papers do actually read this site! The ed(at least the original ed) will confirm that the papers have run stories on the stuff picked up from this site (think a mini sting was done!). All im saying is that if rangers reps involved in the deal didn't know this common knowledge then they wouldn't be there in the first place.

Arsenal to pay £1.5 to 2 mil to take McGregor for remainder of the season. Wenger believes getting the right keeper in could be the difference in the title race. The 2 clubs have a good history for loan deals but Gers will ask for the large loan fee due to impact on their own trophy chances. Hinges on Arsenal being given permission to sign a keeper from another country.

There's no need for that type of language. my source will remain anonamous however i stand by my statement. rangers fans should not be overly optimistic about this mr whyte!

Re: Couple of things firstly the guy called u a dumpling hardly offensive, secondly I think im siding with him journo's are chewing at the bit for any info they can get and for no-one to get any news is very suprising. . maybe this site can break news before a the media but not like 3 days before anything is out (not normally anyway), thirdly Mr whytes finances are there for everyone to see and to claim that reps at rangers involved in the deal never checked this properly is insulting.

Sorry but i just don't believe this either, keep your source i wouldn't want them telling me wrong info.

Who says the wage bill has to be cut by £1 million?

Ally McCoist himself said the wage bill would be getting reduced by £1m this summer.

And whoever said we would be signing Chris Baird and Sebastien Pocognoli on pre contracts, well guess again. They are under contract to Fulham and Standard Liege until 2013 and 2014 respectively.

A big rumour i'm hearing is Craig Conway on a free. And another is a swap deal between Rangers and West Brom, involving Graham Dorrans and Steve Davis

BLUESNEWS,
Martin jarinek will be staying with birmingham if they stay in the premiership. So that will rule out a move north we cannot match the wages on offer at st andrews 18k-20k . We have heard many rumours the wage cap at ibrox is 10 k. Interestingly dioufs wages were matched by the goings of webster/ velicha/ beattie! Rumours are dioufs agent has been in talks with teams from turkey regarding a summer move. The wage bill is to come down a further 1m+ next year , more bad news for the bears and super ally. I have heard a strong rumour though that Arsenal may be willing to let Bartley go to Rangers in the summer as part of a deal to take McGregor to the Emirates. . .Watch this space.

The Pilot.

I heard that at the weekend Pilot, didn't post it though as didn't want to look like an arse lol so what kind of money do you reckon we are talking? Personally I think McGregor is worth £8 million of anyones money, but the EPL seem to think they can come up here and steal our best players for peanuts.

SickBhoy

SickBhoy, I reckon they will probably offer peanuts and Rangers will have to push hard to get 4-5m plus Bartley. Gone are the days of doing a Hearts, like they done with Gordon, and getting 9m plus the fact Arsenal will know that Rangers are desperate for cash.

I just hope the bank don't sell us short and then refuse to put any of the money into the transfer kitty(McCoist can only hope for some not all of the money from sales)

The Pilot!

I have been speaking to someone involved at rangers and he told me that rangers had opened talks with arsenal about compensation for kyle bartley who rangers are going to sign on pre contract.

also rangers have been looking at a player called roger rojjas who plays for olimpia in the honduras league .

there was also an approach from aston villa for keeper alan mcgregor but that was rejected as rangers wanted 8million but they only offered 3million .

i don't know anything about takeover but i always say no news is good news .

The only club chris eagles has being linked with is everton! Dont get me wrong, he would probably be a superstar in a below average Everton team. Eddie howe is a budget man, i doubt he will spend big money on any player that's not how he works. He will look for value in the market

Joe in the know what is your source? Notts Forest are pushing for premiership, why would they sign a championship relegation battler at best?

SSN have said he is leaving so i think your putting 2+2 and getting 7.

Burnley will have to sell if they want kyle, he would be a good signing for them but could they afford him, and his wages?

After Diouf's show tonight Smith will see if its possible to send him back to Blackburn before his loan deal expires. Was at the game tonight and have it on good authority that Smith's fed up.

Quite pleased tbh and this is coming from a Rangers fan. Shows glimpses of quality sometimes, but his attitude is a disgrace to Rangers football club. No player is worth the shame he brings on the gers
