American giants AEG are poised to launch takeover bid of Glasgow Rangers. The American Billionaire Philip Anschutz is behind the takeover bid. He see Rangers as a prefect opportunity to expand his already expansive sporting folio.

Believable49 Unbelievable56

Sporting folio?

Agree0 Disagree0

Aye right..........Stevie

Agree0 Disagree0

Are they not trying to Buy Spurs at the moment.

Agree0 Disagree0

For all our differences who would invest massive cash in celtic or rangers to get a paltry tv money back. we move on with small finance. thats it.

Agree0 Disagree0

The spurs deal was dropped a few weeks ago.

Das Shadow

Agree0 Disagree0

We hate each other for 90 mins then down the pub, lets be honest who is going to invest in scottish football until we all change i am afraid we are on our own b

Agree0 Disagree0

Have heard that Deutsche Bank AG have expressed interest in the Rangers situation

Agree0 Disagree0

Heard of this a couple of weeks ago and was told then it's to do with using Ibrox as a concert arena ,,seemingly they have the Hamburg ground as well

Agree0 Disagree0

This guy is supposed to be linked way buying spurs prob be better buying them than us unless we where in England a think Paul Murray and the blue knights are gonney get us through this mess fellow bears

Agree0 Disagree0

NO ONE is going to invest..not in the sense that you are all getting excited about..

Look at the facts...look at the debt...who in their right mind, in todays economic climate has AT LEAST 80 Million to throw away into the black hole that is the SPL..

Accept what is happening, you may aswell.

Agree0 Disagree0

It actually looks like its gonna be 20mill toops of debt...

Agree0 Disagree0

Don't be so negative! There are plenty of arab billionaires looking for their next 'hobby'. Might just be Rangers - then we can start buying titles with legitamite funds.

Agree0 Disagree0

This isnae true more bull just remember why did psg get bought the french league isnt that great an they are throwing money at psg think its some qatar mob

TB

Agree0 Disagree0

If there are other investors they will be waiting for Gers to get a CVA or are liquidated. They won't be wanting to take on all that debt.

Agree0 Disagree0

Was it cud but doubt it tht guys in the top 50 americians 7 billion or something

Agree0 Disagree0

This is ridiculous. AEG should sue.

Rangers have made redundant their international business director for Asia and USA, based in London, why would they lose that international business competence if they were about to negotiate with an Asian or USA company? Nonsense. {Ed001's Note - that makes no sense, AEG would have no need of a Rangers-based international business director.}

Agree0 Disagree0

Do all you people not read about our "potential" tax liability only to be paid at 10p in £ provided craigy the shyte is gone
Leeroy

Agree0 Disagree0

Im not saying its true or going to happen but there is massive interest in the US in the old firm. Rangers are attractive now especially as we have national team players in our squad. Do you guys not realise just how many Rangers replica tops and merchandise is sold every year. SDM sold our rights to that along with most everything else, but to an investor from america or anywhere else thats HUGE advertising potential.

Agree0 Disagree0

Ed.... You don't understand properly, if Rangers are about to negotiate anything with USA or Asian corporations, why sack the rangers expert director in such matters? Who is going to negotiate? No 'O' levels Ally McCoist? {Ed001's Note - McCoist is not involved at that level, the administrators are running the business and they have no need of an office in London or the director there. Anything to be negotiated with those corporations can be done perfectly well without him. I don't think you understand to be honest.}

Agree0 Disagree0

Ed.......international business directors are like gold dust, believe me I know. Duff & Phelps reps at Ibrox are UK domestic accountants, totally our of their league to negotiate with USA corps or the Asians. They are quite simply not competent to do so. {Ed001's Note - rubbish, you quite clearly have no clue what you are on about, their only aim is to get the creditors' money to them. There is absolutely no need to have an international business director, that aren't gold dust at all, to deal with anyone. Their only need is to cut costs and make the club profitable, what do they need an overpaid, underused executive for? I think you are failing to understand exactly what is happening here, there is no desire to sell Rangers for a profit or the highest price possible. The job of the administrators is to get the debts paid off, nothing else.}

Agree0 Disagree0

McCoist stated in the press recently that D&P had given him a senior role in negotiations with prospective owners. He stated he accepted. {Ed001's Note - yes, as a figurehead, he won't be any more than that.}

Agree0 Disagree0

I find it astonishing we had a paid director in london whose job was to deal with asain and american markets!! What the hell did the guy do all day anyway. Sorry to say this but Rangers have too many staff and too many players for an SPL team. Its hard for the ones who lose their jobs but no harder than any other company employees in these difficult times. Administrators should have made some positions redundant, sorry but thats a fact for the greater good of the company.

Agree0 Disagree0

I don't believe there are any seriously interested Asians or Americans, they would've shown up last year. As it is the global economy has got worse. The Rangers liabilities have got worse and all the bad news of what has been done is out there. It's not a good brand to link your other businesses with either.

Agree0 Disagree0

AEG are currently building 13 stadiums @£700mill a pop so worth a wee bit more than 7billion there plan is to have at least one arena in every country as they own O2 and one in Manchester buying Spurs would have made no sense whatsoever however talking to a former director and doing business offsite would make perfect sense and possibly led to rumors of buyout. Would also explain why the massive spending on the stadium £1.5mill on PA system (wtf) would partly explain why Ticketus were so keen to advance and another little titbit is CEO of AEG is Russian as for wasting money they pay D.beckham $10 mill a year

Agree0 Disagree0

Think some are forgetting Duff and Phelps
Headquarters are in New York. The Administrators we have in, and the publicity Rangers have had Worldwide over the last few weeks, would have got the attention of these types of potential owners.

Agree0 Disagree0

Why would any Asians or Americans be interested in Rangers going up to play Inverness in cold February? Really inspires the imagination much like the global round the world yacht race sponsored by Rolex.

Agree0 Disagree0

Ofcourse, I would love to see major investment that would allow us to once again see players in the ilk of Gascoigne, Laudrup, Numan etc. However, the stark reality is that the SPL is an uninteresting competition with a poor standaed of footy. I would argue that outside of the old firm that most teams would struggle even in the English championship. Outside of the old firm the spl teams stumble when they play second rate teams in European qualification. So why would anyone invest in Rangers from a business perspective? I don't see aeg happening.

I predict that an offer will come from people with an emotional affinity to the club. The only way I can see an AEG-type offer come in is if Rangers can be picked up for next to nothing and the big tax case is minimized to 10 p per pound.

I may have sounded negative about the spl, but the issue is also in other European leagues that have fallen far behind the epl, la liga, bundesliga and serie a. No major tv interest means no income and no money to compete.

Agree0 Disagree0

An American company would not get involved with the old firm because of the inherent problems they have!

Agree0 Disagree0

Duff and phelps out of their league to negotiate with usa corps or the asians? the are owned by the third largest credit rating company in the world based in new york

One of the guys interested in rangers is Alan frew, he is based in Canada and is the lead singer in a band(glass tiger I think). He has released songs n also wrote a lot. I know this sounds like a bulls**t but it's not haha!! Apparently has recording studios n tv studios and tried to buy the gets a few years ago and it came to nothing. He is from Scotland originally.

Believable11 Unbelievable37

Aye right........Stevie

Agree0 Disagree0

I live in toronto and know alan frew very well....does not have the kind of money to buy the gers...sorry bud....great singer though...

Agree0 Disagree0

I knew I would get shot dwn but hopefully it will come out. Not givin my name but il Jst sign off as....

Jws

Agree0 Disagree0

Not shootin antone down.....he doesny huv the doh is all......deecee

Agree0 Disagree0

Fair enough mate, just passing on what i heard. The guy that told me claimed to know him or know someone that knew him. He was adamant he was involved

Jws

Agree0 Disagree0

He tryed to by the GETS a few years ago who are they ?

Agree0 Disagree0

Are you that stupid you can't see I obviously ment the gers? It was predictive text ya tube!!

Jws

Agree0 Disagree0

He goes to toronto midtown where i go. Nowhere near enough money

Agree0 Disagree0

SFA, SPL, FBI, CIA and Lord Lucan to hold enquiries into flagrant and repeated typos on this rumours site! Quote from Daily Rebel 'are there no depths Rangers will not stoop to? Neil Lennon wants the next 10 titles stripped from Rangers (god if only!) in his capacity as Chief Executive of Extreme Bitterness at that esteemed East End plumbing firm, Septic FC

Agree0 Disagree0

He said if you were found quilty then you should be striped...STOP TRYING TO CAUSE HATE AND PROBLEMS!! there are other managers saying the same.... for if you were cheating is it not the right thing to do? oooo no you want rankers to get off free, your stupid club is not higher then the law, you just pay the higher ups. Be made at your club for it is not just the fans that gave yous a bad name but all the former owners and managers. WAKE UP! and stot worriing about Celtic and fix your own club and yourself!

Buy a scarf and spread the word Bears. We are the poeple!

Believable18 Unbelievable25

Great initiative. Well done.

Agree0 Disagree0

Naw we are red white n blue!! We ain't ac milan

Agree0 Disagree0

Did we not win the league at rugby park in a black and red top?? Get behind the club clown!!

Agree0 Disagree0

100% of profit goes to Rangers !! I'd rather my whole £10 went to them rather than £10 minus cost of scarf and postage and packaging etc etc.... Just a personal view but well done for trying to help

Agree0 Disagree0

Its a good idea but a red and black scarf is not for me. I had mooted the idea of blue and red only, no 'Whyte' until things were hopefully concluded successfully. But in the end why don't we just wear our proper colours. Also I'd rather have adult tickets being bought for obvious reasons!

Agree0 Disagree0

Fantastic idea.

Agree0 Disagree0

I have bought mine, our socks are black and red also, its a f*** you to Craig Whyte the black and red scarf !

barra1591

Agree0 Disagree0

Buy full price tickets, the club needs that more than buying child price tickets

Agree0 Disagree0

Sorry for the question but the ,we are the people fraise whos people are we ?

Agree0 Disagree0

Lol @ "fraise" Not a Rangers supporter obviously.

Agree0 Disagree0

I think any way that can help is a good idea. is it definitely on the level though, would hate to think someone is trying to make a fast buck on the back of our demise.

Agree0 Disagree0

You are no longer the people an embarrassment to the rest of Scotland hence no overseas buyers

Agree0 Disagree0

Good Q. though.. never understood it..

but I guess you are everyone's boy now

Agree0 Disagree0

We are the people who were shafted by a wee guy from motherwell

Agree0 Disagree0

Red and black, whre did they get that from?

Agree0 Disagree0

A good idea, but a Rangers scarf MUST have blue! Take out the white to show no Whyte in Rangers would be better.

Agree0 Disagree0

The red and black will show all of glasgow the state of finance within the clubs celtic in the black and rangers in the red great idea b

Agree0 Disagree0

The scarf should have been blue and red with no white . sending out the mesage that we dont need or want white at ibrox

Agree0 Disagree0

OK agood idea to raise funds, but being minded that there are a lot of people outher who are taking money from the club, please explain the cost break down,i.e. how much the wholesale price and how much after production and transport costs etc, how much of the tenner goes to the club?

Agree0 Disagree0

How are ten quid scarves gonna save a club? Clubs needs millions not a couple of tenners!

Heard on real radio that there have been 7 interested parties in Rangers. And before celtic fans start to dis this, it came from your very own peter martin. Also I heard Alex mcleish's intrview, and he said he knew a few white knights who were interested in Rangers, and something along the lines of they will make sure we are ok. Any ideas who he's talking about ?.

Believable21 Unbelievable25

Yeah 2 fan groups, ticketus and Paul Murray, these are the Blue Knights.lmfao

Agree0 Disagree0

Jim McColl ? Sir Tom Hunter ?

Agree0 Disagree0

Paul Murray & Ticketus have submitted a bid

Agree0 Disagree0

Wonder if Alex Mcleish's accountant been writing any more letters to HMRC lately.

Agree0 Disagree0

Can't help you with that one pal , but i know of 7000 interesting party goers coming to Rangers on the 25th of this month.....Stevie

Agree0 Disagree0

Rumored to be AEG deal is being done offsite through ex Rangers director

Agree0 Disagree0

Its all goin to be OK. Happy days!

Agree0 Disagree0

Gladys knight is deffo in and the pips are thinking it over.

Agree0 Disagree0

I know of one big party that's going on at iPox and it's green n white!!

Agree0 Disagree0

Ticketus have got to be involved otherwise court cases go on forever.

Agree0 Disagree0

Stop day dreaming.....£50M MINIMUM required or liquidation, stop reading the sun and daily record...........

This time last year whytes "wealth was off the radar".....

grow up and learn some business facts before posting....liquidation a cert.

Agree0 Disagree0

Stevie .... It's only taken you 4 years to mount a challenge to our superiority and you could really only manage it when we were on our knees at death's door and we gave you a 10 point head start !!

Agree0 Disagree0

Good to see timothy more interested in ours than his own, see there all secret blue noses, they just seem to get enough of us, everybody wants to be bear

Agree0 Disagree0

Un-named poster your right we needed your ten point start cos 21-10 = Rangers ahead ! You obviously didn't go to the same school as me !!.......Stevie

Agree0 Disagree0

Stevie youve obviosley no gt a clue bout football 21-10 cos all those point would be shed by a properly run gers enjoy it while it last cos well be bak on top soon enough ,

Agree0 Disagree0

And when was the the last time there was a properly run Gers un-named poster?......Stevie

Agree0 Disagree0

Blue Knights, White Knights, Night Knight Zzzzz.....

Agree0 Disagree0

It's all utter nonsense, name the interested partIes and let them come forth.
There is no need for secrecy for this piece of business at all. Should be done fully in the public eye, open and honest.
There's only p Murray, nobody else. And it'll crash around his ears into his second month. Has he passed the SFA fitness criteria considering?

Agree0 Disagree0

Stevie ..... the sectarian school system in this country is probably the reason why you and I would never go to the same school !

Agree0 Disagree0

I posted in here several hours ago that rangers made redundant their London based director Misha somebody. He was appointed in January and was the director international business relationships for Asia and USA.

Why get rid of him if there's Asian or USA big business waiting to step in?? It's not going to happen its only p Murray and creditor Ticketus chasing their money, hoping fans spend spend spend.

Agree0 Disagree0

To the guy talkingabout secterian school policies u are completely wrong and out of order. Catholic schools let in people of all faiths and none. My mother is a teacher in a catholic school and there are more non-catholics than catholic.

Agree0 Disagree0

This is rubbish. my son goes to roman catholic school hes non catholic shoots that stupid religious thing out the water religion should not be in sport get a grip

Agree0 Disagree0

Where were all these potential buyers when Murray was desperate to sell a few years ago before there was the burden of administration, wee tax bill, PAYE bill,VAT bill, monies owed to clubs for transfer fees surely Rangers were a more viable proposition then than they are now yet all of a sudden a potential debt of many many millions of pounds and players contracts virtually ripped up in 3 months time makes Rangers FC an incredible good buy for some wealthy owner to throw money at as if it is going out of fashion ..... i may be wrong but it is like wanting a brand new car in 2006 and waiting till it is 6 years older to buy it and have all the problems to deal with in owning something somebody else has abused in that time..... comments please

Agree0 Disagree0

Think the issue was before that there was no transparency by d murray of the real nature of our finances. It also wasn't threatening extinction at that point either. All these problems existed then, other than what Whyte has added to it. But now a Cva Would lesson those debts dramatically, hopefully to a serviceable level, and obviously the desperation issue. Too many people care about the club to let it go completely, although for any bidder, Paul Murray or other would be better financially (albeit not staturally) if club was liquidated first and re-started, i.e. no debt.

Agree0 Disagree0

Ed tell me please is it like this on other teams sites someone post about one thing then by the time everybody replies they are banging on about something completely different? mark. {Ed001's Note - yes mate, it is exactly the same on every site.}

Gers administrators agree wage-cut plan to move club forward - http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/17308715
So much for the doubters out there. KG

Believable3 Unbelievable6

Since when did rangers players become licensed administrators? The job of the administrators is to keep the club running and try to get debts cleared. The allocation of available cash should be determined by them, no-one else. I sure that the creditors in risk of losing businesses, jobs, livelihoods etc. will be delighted that Rangers players are ensuring that back-room staff are secure. Are there any laws within this country that are applicable to Rangers? The handling of this entire situation is an absolute disgrace to our nation and to football. Justice has to be served.

Agree0 Disagree0

What chance we can persuade the whole team to stay on these wages all next season as well?

Agree0 Disagree0

Its good news that it buys the administrators enough time to broker a deal. But the hardest work is still ahead of them. Not a time to pat themselves on the back just yet. Their handling of this whole affair has been painful to observe.

Agree0 Disagree0

Well done and heart felt thanks to the players and the manager for pulling together and make such massive sacrifices for the club.

Just shows how special Rangers are and how much this club means to the players,as well as the fans. With this level of commitment and the backing of the fans (and hopefully a few super wealthy fans, who are genuine supporters) we'll bounce back stronger than ever !

Just goes to prove again that Rangers is more than just a club. These players will go down in history as legends. Their integrity, comeradery and selfless act will always be remembered.

In these times of greedy Bankers, like Bob Diamond and Stephen Hester, enriching themselves, what a fantastic and honourable sacrifice our players have made. What a great advert to potential buyers !

These last couple of weeks have been painful and extremely worrying for every Rangers fan. This news gives us renewed heart and confidence that the spirit of this team and our manager can conquer and prosper again. It's to their eternal credit.

A very proud Rangers' fan tonight.

Agree0 Disagree0

"Justice has to be served" ?? .... You're a wee bitter lemon.

A better yer absolutely scunnered that we'll not only avoid liquidation, but we'll be back stronger than ever next season !! Can't wait.

What doesn't kill us, makes us stronger !

WATP

Agree0 Disagree0

Yeh same old story jobs for the boys dont worry about who we owe just pay our own b

Agree0 Disagree0

Seems there's a few unhappy Celtic fans on our site tonight. Nice to see !

News of our imminent death seems somewhat premature.

An ebullient Gers' fan !

Agree0 Disagree0

After today what have your team done they lost a 17 point lead turned into an 11 point advantage for celtic and you say great by the team, please dont play the tainted title card, you have cheated , i am not going to say other teams because of the two contract issue but have a really good look at yourselves have you ever cared for any one else you were born that way and will on death be the same you must change or be for ever hated ,i would hate to see this happen

Agree0 Disagree0

Get a grip they haven't agreed to pay cut its another way of deferring wages ! The high earners will be off at the end of the season with the transfer fee or a huge chunk of it in their pocket

Agree0 Disagree0

Its not a deferral of wages. Also, if they leave in the summer, we'll get transfer fees from their sale. Are you really too stupid to figure that out ?

You're negativity suggest to me that you're a sellik fan ... Poo poo somewhere else !

Paul Murray's consortium along with
Ticketus and Fans groups preparing
offer for the Gers.
Hope some positive news now!

Believable21 Unbelievable22

Aye, but takeover after liquidation.

Agree0 Disagree0

Paul Murray may put in a bid but I am not too happy as he was involved previously and must have known about all the Shute ready to hit the fans!

Agree0 Disagree0

Why the **** is he jumping into bed with Ticketus?

Agree0 Disagree0

Rangers aren't going to liquidated. Much to your disappointment Timothy.

Agree0 Disagree0

Ticketus aint preparing anything, they dont wont to buy a football club

Agree0 Disagree0

Paul Murray does not want liquidation. He is aware of the financial implications (3 years ban from Europe amongst other things). Along with Ticketus, he is now making the right noises

Agree0 Disagree0

His offer will be conditional on +ve resolution of big tax case or SDM taking the hit if rangers lose. Same old same old

Agree0 Disagree0

I thought paul murrays condition to buy us was all on if rangers win the tax case or am i missing sumthin??

Agree0 Disagree0

Is Paul Murray a fit and proper person? He was involved with the whole mess in the first place!

Agree0 Disagree0

Ticketus are jumping in to bed with murray they dont fancy trying to get £24 mill off Whyte

Agree0 Disagree0

I back the Murray consortium too. I mean I want them to succeed and I want a CVA struck. Don't believe stories that non Rangers fans want to see them liquidated. Many do not. If Rangers were liquidated and a Pheonix started immediately in the SPL it would open the floodgates. Very next thing Hearts would do the same! No, Rangers should be allowed to do whatever it takes to survive and pay the taxes they owe even if it has to be over a long period.
Celticfan

Agree0 Disagree0

You cannot just decide to liquidate a business celticfan.

Agree0 Disagree0

I dont trust p murray either

Agree0 Disagree0

What about doing what they wanted to do and going into liquiedation and becoming rangers 2012 and going into the english legieg

Agree0 Disagree0

This is on the Telegraph webpage stating Paul Murray, Ticketus and Fans Group have submitted the first concrete bid. It also states further down the page that one recently employed individual will be leaving the club -doesn't say whether it's from the playing/backroom staff or behind the scenes staff. Also a few players who agreed to the pay cut have apparently aid they will want nothing to do with the club if Craig Whyte continues to have any connection to RFC. http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/football/teams/rangers/9133921/Rangers-players-finally-agree-pay-cuts-to-save-jobs-to-prevent-redundancies-at-stricken-club.html

Agree0 Disagree0

Paul murray is still looking for investors to buy the club so would be skeptical of any thing he says . hes basically siding up with anyone who shows an interest that helps him . ticketus are only backing him till they get there money back plus interest . the story about cva and HMRC only taking 10p in the pound £ is unlikely to be true as no one knows the real cost so far . rangers will be sold with a tag saying BUYER BEWARE !!

Rangers press conference at 19.00hrs

Believable18 Unbelievable5

Things are looking great onwards and upwards the gers are back bigstyle

Agree0 Disagree0

Steady now. These still early days but signs better than for some time. We need a buyer now and not just anyonr but someone who genuinely wants the club and is prepared to invest. Jim McColl?

Agree0 Disagree0

Calm down. We've bought breathing space. We must back the team and fill the stadium for the last few games. Plus let's try a d sell out the legends game v AC Milan. Do not believe this a fix. It simply gives us time and hopefully a takeover in next 3 months. Keep backing and do anything you can to get funds into the club. And well done to all the players and management in helping the club and ordinary workers. This will never be forgotten. McCoist is the legend we knew as a player but his handling of this is nothing short of amazing. Whatever happens to Ally as a manager this guy is Mr Rangers, since the early 80s to the present day. Thank you Ally.

Agree0 Disagree0

Oh my God, "the Gers are back bigstyle". What is wrong with you, nothing has fundamentaly changed. This only means that Rangers can continue to trade in the short term. There is no rescue plan in place.

Agree0 Disagree0

Yeah easy tiger, we only have a finger in the dam at the mo, though any good news is welcome.

Agree0 Disagree0

Beware of false prophets..................

Agree0 Disagree0

To - Oh my god, "the Gers are back bigstyle"

We've never been away... we were only taking a wee rest.

You should never forget that Rangers are the largest affiliated member of the "Establishment" and we will always be taken care of.

Ooops... I think your blood pressure just went up a few notches there...Chillax... There are ways back from the dark side.

Agree0 Disagree0

Look D&P called the players bluff in the media and they caved in. D&P threatened to liquidate in days and they caved kn to basically forego salaries to pay D&P wages for next 3 months. Simples. Nothing sorted, just D&P hanging about longer.

Agree0 Disagree0

I hope things are getting better. But the Admin people don't add up . Figures and facts. just hope they are not pulling the wool over the eyes . I hope not

Agree0 Disagree0

Rangers are most definitely disestablishment......Celtic are now the edtabliseng with model executives, owner and business associates. ...such as Lords of the Realm. All Rangers can do Ida dodgy knight, soon to be stripped of it surely?

Agree0 Disagree0

Hey... no probs mate, if you want to be the "edtabliseng" go for it. I don't think it will catch on though... We'll stick with the big guys, the one's with the clout...you know the one's who make the rules!

Agree0 Disagree0

Things seem to be more relaxed coistys strength is amazing god only knows how he can keep going everyone must be strong the thing that worries me is the non payment of income tax as someone who has been self -employed this is serious stuff i can see police involvment if rangers do indeed owe 4 million centre 1 will not accept 10 pence in the pound if i owed them £3500 come april they want £3500 not £350 i dont know how whyte thought he was going to get away with it

Sky Sports News reporting that no staff
within Ibrox will be made redundant.
No mention of Murray Park though.

Believable14 Unbelievable14

Celtic fan here but this is good news indeed, but dont know how Whittaker and Naismith taking a 75% wage cut helps anyone i would think their insurance company would be paying their wages anyway as they are injured, maybe wrong though.MACCA

Agree0 Disagree0

Not sure about the insurance side of things mate. Im just glad of the positive news.

Agree0 Disagree0

Think club pay half insurance pay half just glad it's a bit of good news

Agree0 Disagree0

And rightly so mate, just seems a bit strange, the numbers just dont add up,if you add it up it is no were near £1m.MACCA

Agree0 Disagree0

Great news for scottish football and the staff at ibrox great for glasgow too as buisness would suffer and no rangers v celtic games again the rangers fans have been treated badly tho same as the celtic fans in 1994 well done the players through no fault of their own respect from true rangers and celtic fans

Agree0 Disagree0

Typical celtic fan trying to find a negative from a positive.

Agree0 Disagree0

The pay deal does add up. If you took a 25 man squad with an average saving of 10 a week then that would give you 250k a week hence 1 million a month. The balance of the big earners versus lower earners would give a saving of 250k a week. Plus the management also.

Agree0 Disagree0

I heard that the players who have taken the biggest pay cuts will be free agents at
the end of the season. How is that helping the club??

Agree0 Disagree0

I hope the rangers fans can buy the majority of the club as a football fan the supporters have been let down badly good luck

Agree0 Disagree0

How is that a negative? It was only a question. I wouldn't know off the top of my head who pays for what when a player is injured, and in this case it does matter.

Agree0 Disagree0

The administrator did not give a definite answer on the clauses in contracts. But reports are they would be freed depending on if we come out of admin and who runs the club. Hopefully we can find a buyer or the start of a takeover, and the players can decide what to do. The players have saved the club make no mistake about that. If some were free to go then I don't think you can have a go at them.

Daily record now saying that Paul Murrys group are now being back by Ticktus

Believable17 Unbelievable13

There IS only the p Murray group D'oh

Agree0 Disagree0

Wouldn't believe a word from the DR.

Agree0 Disagree0

Me either

Agree0 Disagree0

Paul Murray should be banned as a director and not allowed anywhere near Rangers. He is partially accountable for all of this.

He attended board meetings, approved accounts for release, approved board decisions, including financial strategies, ...... Responsible and accountable.....also for rangers bringing football into disrepute.

Agree0 Disagree0

Must be true if its in the daily rebel.
would not wipe my asre with it

Agree0 Disagree0

Ssn also said it.....not sure about it though

craig+babybear

Agree0 Disagree0

DR reporting no such think!!!

Agree0 Disagree0

Ticketus already denied this ..Also have made three statements today showing that they are covered for their money .in our present situation or if we become a newco

Agree0 Disagree0

Paul Murray did not bring game in to disrepute he was one of a few directors at the time who did not want Craig Whyte anywhere near the club, also while he was on the board under the control of David Murray alongwith the Chairman Alastair Johnston he was part of the board who reduced the debt over a two year period and these are facts and as far as any decision making is concerned any that were taken at board level rquire a majority biut in any business even when a decision is reached that is only via a majority it is then deemed the decision of the entire board. It also might have exscaped you that one of the first people that Craig Whyte got rid of when he took control of the club was Paul Murray wonder why.

Agree0 Disagree0

It was the pressure from Lloyds bank that drove down the debt.

Agree0 Disagree0

Alastair Johnston went public years ago saying Lloyds were on the board and making all the decisions. They had a golden veto on everything and they were managing down the debt successfully year on year. A log oc it forgiven debt/ interest. To go from £80m to £18m was miraculous. Also rumoured Lloyds went kn and looked at books and saw EBTs and put a stop to hem in 2010 as they believed them illegal. That's why the EBTS business came out.

Someone nex to investigate why BOS gave rangers £80m debt? And MIH much much more.

Agree0 Disagree0

Correct to say that it was pressure from Lloyds Bank that resulted in the debt coming down but that involved those on the board actually making sure it actually did happen and Paul Murray was one of those on the board at the time and in response to the guy who sent in an earlier post Craig Whyte got rid of Paul Murray because he did not want anyone working within the club who could oppose his running of the club.

Agree0 Disagree0

It wasn't pressure from Lloyds bank that brought the debt down, it was effectiveanagement of Llosa bankers in Ibrox that brought he debt down notwithstanding the spend spend spend mentality of rangers directors including p Murray. Just stop trying to do a whitewash of this guy cause he'd the only orion and the an of David Murray/ Whyte all along.

Agree0 Disagree0

No shock there
and 1 month from now we will find that Craig Whyte acted on orders from Murray

Agree0 Disagree0

I agree it was LLoyds who were responsible for the reductions.

Paul Murray is tainted and not quiltless.

Financial mis-management, illegal double contracts.

We cant trust these men.

We want to move on and up.

We want a new order who are also fit and proper.

Agree0 Disagree0

P Murray is not the answer. There is only one way out and thats liquidation. Tickets deal is the key now. If they're covered even through liquidation then they will be running the club not Murray. What a mess The truth about D Murray and Whyte will come out.

STV reporting Administrators locking horns with Ticketus over the £24m stating it's a deal between Whyte and Ticketus and Rangers can be extracted from the deal. Reported that Ticketus case is legally watertight and it's more a case of Rangers and Ticketus business and if anything Whyte could be removed from the transaction.

Rangers selling future tickets to pay rangers debt to lloyds tsb. If so, rangers would own the £3.6m balance which curiously they are legally chasing!

Believable25 Unbelievable14

The ticketus money was to Craig Whyte, not to Rangers. It will be null and void, paving the way for a new owner and a deal with HMRC. Well be out of this mess before the start of next season, IF all goes well.

Agree0 Disagree0

Makes sense although there appears there must be one of two options - either the sale is held valid and Admin has to sue CW for 20m or invalid and Ticketus has to sue him - obvious preference

Agree0 Disagree0

It's gonna drag on and on!

Agree0 Disagree0

A lot of jingoism today but still a big tax and a small growing by the day tax bill hanging over Ibrox! I am not paying another penny into club until we have all the answers!

Agree0 Disagree0

Ticketus are covered. It's a rangers debt or Ticketus owns the 4 years of 60% average tickets. The 3.6m will go back to Ticketus, they were owed 9 million in interest. And current compounding interest calculated against Rangers. So Rangers owe £24.4 minus £3.6 plus further contracted interest.

Agree0 Disagree0

STV reports Ticketus are legally watertight having dealt for years with broke football clubs. The sale of the assets (tickets) was from rangers fc ltd not Whytes company.

Again, who benefitted? Rangers!

Agree0 Disagree0

So why are rangers chasing the money if it's Craig whytes money you numpty

Agree0 Disagree0

Whyte will be removed and Ticketus will be the protected creditor. A CVA will have to be agreed with Ticketus £24.4m and HMRC £13.5m and others....also big tax case.

Agree0 Disagree0

Turns out Ticketus are actually the Blue Knights. WOW

Agree0 Disagree0

It's clearly a Rangers debt.
Whether David Murray sold future tickets to pay rangers debt to Lloyds or whether Craig Whyte sold them to pay off Lloyds.... It's clearly solely Rangers internal business that cannot be legally isolated from Rangers FC.

Agree0 Disagree0

Quote: Tom Kite.

"The only person at risk from the deal is me personally because I gave Ticketus personal and corporate guarantees underwriting their investment; the club and the fans are fully protected. In terms of exposure, I am personally on the line for £27.5 million in guarantees and cash."
.....................

The SFA & Lord Nimmo have delivered their damming judgement on Mr Whyte & his dealings.
He is an unfit person.
How can Glasgow Rangers be liable to Ticketus?
According to Admin Mr Whyte did not risk any of his own cash in buying the club.
As I understand it he brokered a deal with Ticketus in order to fund a buyout of Rangers debt to Lloyds.
He was not yet the owner of Glasgow Rangers when this went down but became owner as a consequence.

Agree0 Disagree0

Wrong, he agreed in advance with Ticketus that he would sell them 3 years tickets after becoming owner and chairman.

After becoming owner and chairman, through Rangers FC limited he did the transaction (legally) and signed the contract. As interest became due, he signed a further 4th year at 60% over. All above board and legal.
His own statements, to protect himself, are untrue. He is a known liar.

Agree0 Disagree0

'Craig Whyte Also said in a statement that the sale of future season tickets to Ticketus at a reduced price "was without any shadow of a doubt, the best deal for Rangers" '

CW sold the tickets legally and above board as chairman and owner of Rangers , through Rangers FC Ltd, for the benefit of Rangers. All Rangers internal business.

His other statement at the time was to save his own skin from angry rangers fans who understood 4 years of tickets had been sold. He lied at that point through necessity for his own safety.

Also, when initially confronted about the sale he denied it absolutely. Why? If it was his personal exposure? Because it was not his personal exposure, it's rangers FC exposure. This guy never exposes himself.

Agree0 Disagree0

Wrong, he agreed in advance with Ticketus that he would sell them 3 years tickets after becoming owner and chairman.

After becoming owner and chairman, through Rangers FC limited he did the transaction (legally) and signed the contract. As interest became due, he signed a further 4th year at 60% over. All above board and legal.
His own statements, to protect himself, are untrue. He is a known liar.

.......................................

Basically what you are saying is Tom Kite as well.
Again... how could he agree anything with anyone if he he did`nt have any funds to back it up as an unfit person?

Agree0 Disagree0

As far as I understand it, Rangers owe nothing to Ticketus and Ticketus have no security over Rangers' assets. The administrators have already confirmed this.

Ticketus bought the next 4 years' season tickets at a discount to the price the fans' pay for their season tickets, hence allowing them to make a profit margin. Ticketus will only get their money back if Rangers survive and sell similar numbers of season tickets to previous years. If we're liquidated, Ticketus stand to lose almost all their investment. Hence the reason why Ticketus are now so desperate to get involved with the Blue Knights.

douglas park is one of the blue knights consortium along with murray & king.

Believable15 Unbelievable14

King has publicly stated he believes it's Liquidation and will not make a move until after Liquidation.

Agree0 Disagree0

Heard on sky news (10 mins ago) that King would be deemed the same as Whyte unfit & proper.

Agree0 Disagree0

Surely we don't want King involved - of the same mould as Whyte! Douglas Park - he isn't from Hamilton by any chance?

Agree0 Disagree0

Douglas Park is more likely where you will be playing next season. LOLs.

Agree0 Disagree0

1st white night, now blue knight, next night night!! We dont do walking away lol

Agree0 Disagree0

Ally wants Douglas Park on the Board - so he can keep his BMW...

Agree0 Disagree0

This is turning into a massive steaming pile of horsesh!t*.

The way I see it there are only two ways out of this - firstly we can get someone to buy the club having cut a deal with the tax authorities and whatever other liabilities are owed to ensure we maintain our history rather than become history re the current guise. The drawback of this is we will be probably be crippled for a few years anyway paying back debts even if it is only a fraction of what we owe. For this approach we would need to be wise in the transfer market, develop kids and under an excellent manager to ensure we are in with a chance of winning things i.e. not Ally McCoist.

The second option is liquidation and while it may mean we start as a new club with an empty role of honours it may just ensure that we get back to challenging quicker than before provided we are allowed to stay in the SPL.

What is the preference my fellow bears?

1. Potentially years in the wilderness but getting to keep our records (with the exception of anything potentially taken off us for alleged rule breaking).

2. Starting up as a phoenix club and challenging again soon but with our history stopped and confined to history as we start again from scratch under a new identity?

Agree0 Disagree0

Dont want king anywhere near our great club

Agree0 Disagree0

I gave those two options on here 8 days ago...nobody wanted either.......they want all debts removed or paid and a billionaire to spends hundreds of millions on messi types.

Agree0 Disagree0

Is that the Parks of Hamilton guy? Does he have the BMW franchise there also?

Agree0 Disagree0

I personally don't like the idea of losing the history if it can be avoided

quabba

Agree0 Disagree0

Option 1 - always!
Even if we win nothing for 5years we still have our history - more important than a quick fix and liquidation - we wouldn't ne Rangers we would be another team would be as well going and supporting Partick Thistle - no thanks we are Rangers and always will be, if the club dies then so does my support of club football, not wanting a newco

Agree0 Disagree0

Keep our history, sell all players of value, give the youth a chance. No player over 22 and nobody on 5 grand a week. We might not win anything but theres always that chance one of the youngsters might be another Allan Hutton and make the club excess of 8 million. A good sound tactical manager would see us compete to a certain extent.

Agree0 Disagree0

Thanks for the replies. I too believe that it is better to have barren years than give up what generations have maintained and added to.

Sure a phoenix club may not be far off what we have got but it would come with an acceptance that the original Rangers is gone and I do not believe that is a position any of us want to be in.

There have been barren years before and with that develops a great hunger and makes success when it arrives much more appreciated.

Personally I would prefer if we regrouped and came back strong even if it was 5 years or more down the line than stand accused of manipulating or cheating the system.

Agree0 Disagree0

Is it a cert we would have no honours
in case of liquidation? i mean we will still be rangers. rangers won them honours and rangers will win honours again. they dont suddenly get passed over to celtic or aberdeen or hearts. the records will state rangers won the league 54 times etc. then when rangers win the league again it will say rangers on the honours list. dont let the detractors and vultures think we will have no history. we have our memories and the players have their medals. "In broad terms, we believe there are mitigating factors and we hope to demonstrate the distinction between the Club and the actions of any individuals."

Agree0 Disagree0

If he "PUBLICALLY " anounced it why hasnt it been made public ? hmmm

Agree0 Disagree0

Please let either be true.

Agree0 Disagree0

He did make it public last night, but only to the administrators, he is one of last 7 interested parties, but he wants to have a deal in place with HMRC and also wants no shareholders, full liability and control himself. Believe it or not i dont actually think he would be one of the favourites! If there is a consortium offering more money on the table which i think there may be, i dont think Mccoll would get in , but the fact hes tried and failed to buy rangers before might work in his favour. {Ed001's Note - making it public is not the same as just telling the administrators.....}

Agree0 Disagree0

McColl was worth around £800 million back in 2010, hopefully he'll lay his cards on the table.

Agree0 Disagree0

If he told the administrators, how does the poster know? Because the administrators have told no one who they are dealing with. And will the SFA do full checks on the fitness of everyone in advance this time? As called upon by all bears!

Agree0 Disagree0

First its made public, then its not made public its told to admin what a laugh!

Agree0 Disagree0

Having been an employee of Mr McColl for the last 5 years (business now sold to SPX) i wouldnt see him being involved unless everything is above board and "transparent". He may be worth millions but that doesn't mean it's sitting in a bank account !!

Agree0 Disagree0

Basically, if anyone who is rich and has ever shown an interest in rangers over the years, they're gonna be linked to buying them.

Also, everything in the tabloid press should always be taken with a pinch is salt. Having the tabloids as a source is probably worse than not quoting a source.

Player redundancies are still a strong possibility.

Believable19 Unbelievable17

What does he know. New owner about to be unleashed and would want Naisy, Whitty, McGregor and Davis all onboard. Either that or rather than lose them for nothing just now they sell them in summer and strengthen.

Agree0 Disagree0

Suppose its a short term measure. Going forward (hopefully) this would defo need reviewed. However i think all the SPHell teams will have to review. Lets face it if the Pars were relying on the money from Rangers where is it all coming from long term. Just about all the clubs are being run above their means. It could all implode Rangers or no Rangers.

Agree0 Disagree0

LOL in the real world it does not make sense but this is Ibrox they make a habit of keeping and buying things they cant affoard

Agree0 Disagree0

Motherwell and celtic both made profits and reduced debt, no review needed there

Agree0 Disagree0

It only doesn't make sense to a Tim.anybody with two braincells to.rub together can understand that by keeping the best players it make the club easier to sell.

Agree0 Disagree0

Yesterday the club was doomed and 2 days from liquidation, 6 players take 75% cuts and it's all ok to end of season(3months) ....the sums don't add up. Very smelly indeed.

Agree0 Disagree0

The way forward is to keep a good nucleus of our best players to the end of the season would be stupid to release them now. At the seasons end they can be sold if necessary with some revenue to the club.

A few of these comment from tims just show what bitter people they are. Many years ago our club had the chance to kill off our smaller city rivals when the SFA were considering expelling them for flying a foreign flag, did we take advantage? of course not we knew then as we know now that we would always need someone to laugh at.

no matter what emerges after this crisis, no matter what we may be called, we will always be The Rangers and the best part of it all will be that they will know it too and it will stick in their throats forever

Just been told from wee Naismith that they are going to accept the 75% wage cut with some clauses in the contract.
The season tickets will become void and fans will contribute by paying for the remaining home fixtures. This will save all staff including ground and kitchen staff etc. Going to be on Blues News Monday evening and a statement will be on the website.

The prices that I am hearing are as follows:

Season ticket holder adult: £21
Non season ticket adult: £38
Season ticket child: £7
Non season ticket child: £12

Concessions are remaining the same
Boxes will remain the same

Match day hospitality will also remain the same

Looks like we are there, nearly home and dry!

C'mon the bears

Believable21 Unbelievable36

Would say nearly home and dry. This means you will scrape through to the end of the season, IF, people are willing to repay for their already bought seats.

Fair enough most will but there will be a lot who won't be willing, or able, to fork out for a second time.

Then at the end of the season there is barely and revenue to come in so that leaves the club hoping for someone to buy them out, with the tax case still looming.

Nearly home and dry, or treading water?

Agree0 Disagree0

Aye to the end of the month

Agree0 Disagree0

Excellent news plus the prices are not too bad. We the supporters are paying roughly £120 extra to save the club and the players are showing their worth paying £45,000 in some cases. Well done lads!

Agree0 Disagree0

I knew this would happen. Voiding season tickets is normally the first thing thats done. Well done, drastic action being executed, thats what we need!

Agree0 Disagree0

Deal will be done with HMRC once Whyte GTF. Celtic fans will be BEALIN!! HAW HAW.

WATP!!

Agree0 Disagree0

You Hectors might buy tickets to see us lift the league title but can't see many there after the split with nothing to play for...not even a place in Europe

Agree0 Disagree0

So you have to pay again for something that you have ALREADY paid for and that money has been given away to a guy that has no money to pay you back?? Sure if the Ticketus money was used to buy the club then technically the fans AND Ticketus OWN the club..... why pay again?? It is that sort of business acumen that has got you lot to where you are now??

Agree0 Disagree0

These are measures just to get RFC to the end of the season. Doesn't address the outstanding debts and long term structural deficit.

Agree0 Disagree0

Anybody know what the crack is for the celtic game for getting a ticket then, im a season holder in the broomloan and when we play them we're shifted to the club deck? would i still be guaranteed a ticket as Id be happy to pay for my club

Agree0 Disagree0

This is becoming a total whitewash!, Nearly home & dry!! Jesus have you people no shame? try telling that to the poor soles who will have their treatment/operations delayed or even worse cancelled as there is no money for the NHS to help them due solely to the MASSIVE shortage of revenue that rangers OWE! I hope your families are not in need of urgent medical help in the near future as they will get nothing like the rest of us, shame on you.

Agree0 Disagree0

JUST PAY UP OR SHUT UP! We need to save the club. Bloody hell, we can tell why the skin flints just want to sit and do hee haw!

Agree0 Disagree0

See if the season tickets are void does that mean people who have season tickets will be the first to get tickets for the old firm game do u know anything ed {Ed001's Note - that is up to the club, I would expect them to give priority to those that held a season ticket though.}

Agree0 Disagree0

To the tim who says no one will turn up after the split, if we want to cut costs why dont we just not give any tickets to away fans for the rest of the season, thus negating the need for policing (one less bill) also I'm sure we could fill all the seats at the prices quoted and I'm pretty sure there would be no complaints about singing as we would be the only ones in the stadium, and also to the last poster, while your at it i suppose it's also Rangers' fault that troops in Iraq and Afghanistan have had their defence budgets slashed cos we owe (potentially) cash, g'way and gie yersel a shake ye bam {Ed001's Note - this is a pathetic post - no complaints about the singing? Perhaps you should just stop the bigoted songs, then no one would be complaining!}

Agree0 Disagree0

To the guy talking about the money we owe and the NHS, I suppose if it's that bad then maybe we should ask Ireland to repay the £7 billion we gave them when they went bust!!!

The Pilot!

Agree0 Disagree0

Have no problem paying for remaining games this season only question a would want answered is where the money would go if it's for staff wages fine but pay Whyte off or the like NO

Agree0 Disagree0

Home n dry r you jokin??? what non season ticket holder, in the current climate, is going to pay £38 for a ticket & it still doesn't mean that we won't go into liquidation. The whole game's overpriced as it is. All i will say is it's a start, we've still a long way to go.
MON THE TEDDY BEARS!!!! WATP!!

Agree0 Disagree0

What took them so long, thats nearly a whole month gone and was an obvious thing to do on day 1

Agree0 Disagree0

What i can't understand is how it is possible to say that rangers are going to scrap the season tickets for the rest of the season, surely there is something dodgy about that, how on earth is it legal to cancel a pre-agreed contract with the average fan who has paid up front, i mean what about families who have invested in seats for this season, with the new changes it would be a ridiculous amount to ask he average family to shell out even more money for something that the already have, surely this would be a matter for trading standards to investigate the selling of tickets that have been sold before

Agree0 Disagree0

Its ok to pay again if u can but if a child has saved up his pocket money to buy a season ticket hes not going to b ableto pay again or his parents will have to give him money

Agree0 Disagree0

Im not a season ticket holder but have been to 12 games this season I have a 7hour round trip to ibrox, the supporters bus costs £20 and this guy saying a ticket will cost £38 that would price me out of a couple more trips down this season £60 before I'VE EVEN LEFT THE FLAT!

Agree0 Disagree0

If true (and I speak as a Lawyer) RFC will end up in court for failing to fulfil SFA obligations to season book holders.

If also, the administratotrs force this, they will automatically face a judicial inquriy into their handling of the administration process.

This cannot happen, legally speaking.

Agree0 Disagree0

Been a season ticket holder for 10 years and I can honestly say I wouldnt even think bout paying extra money if my season ticket was made void. Why should I pay extra money when 3k fans didnt turn up last week, or when the players are not even trying on the park. Sorry but think rangers have had enough money off me in the past. End of the day its say 5 games plus times 21 thats 105 quid above my season ticket nah no thanks ill be gracious enough to let somebody else get my seat for those games you know somebody that dosnt go every home game.

Agree0 Disagree0

We are nearly home and dry?

Let me try to explain it this way.....
For quite a few years we have been playing at the edge of a cliff. Over 3 weeks ago we were pushed off that cliff by a bad man who told us it was just a wee fall and we'd quickly climb back up and move away from the edge. He lied! It was a very high, steep cliff and as we fell we kept grabbing hold of anything that would save us, but every branch we grabbed quickly snapped and we continued to plummet. Just as we were about to smash into the rocks at the bottom, we managed to grab a larger, secure branch and currently we are holding on until help arrives. If and when that help comes, we still have to climb back up before we are even close to HOME AND DRY!

Rangers stepped back from the abyss after a series of developments cleared the path for any new  prospective owner to  dramatically take control of the club.
Just 24 hours after director Dave King said he believed liquidation was 'inevitable', the club's administrators claimed they were putting the final touches to a players’ wage-reduction package  which will ensure the £4million of cuts required for the club  to fulfil its remaining fixtures this season.
With the medium-term future of the club all but secured,  discredited owner Craig Whyte’s hold over Rangers  also appears to be loosening.

Whyte, who was yesterday judged not to be a ‘Fit and Proper Person’ to hold a  position at a football club by the SFA, spent the day at the office of administrator Duff & Phelps’ London-based lawyer Taylor Wessing.
The Motherwell-born  businessman was grilled on  his financial transactions  since buying the club from Sir David Murray last May and was left in no doubt that there are now major question marks over the validity of his majority shareholding.
Sportsmail understands that an investigation has revealed that, far from being a creditor of the club, Whyte’s takeover company Wavetower, which has since been renamed the Rangers Football Club Group Limited, actually owes money to the football club.
As a result, it is understood that although Whyte’s shares cannot be forcibly taken from him, there are legal mechanisms by which the administrator would effectively control them. It is likely those measures will be stepped up in the coming days.
Similarly, Whyte’s claim to being a secured creditor of the club to the tune of £18m also appeared to be unravelling on Thursday night.
Whyte bought the club for just £1 from Murray but part of the condition of sale was that he paid off the £18m owed to Lloyd’s Bank. Despite initially denying it, Whyte paid Lloyd’s off with £24.4m he received by selling three years of future season tickets to London-based Ticketus.
Although the bank was effectively paid off with fans’ money, Whyte immediately laid claim to £18m in the event of an insolvency action. It is understood he has now been left in no doubt that he has no claim to this sum.
Ticketus’ claim on the majority of seats at Rangers’ games for the next three years is also set to go before the courts in the next week.
Lawyers for Duff & Phelps believe they can demonstrate that the ownership of the tickets should be declared null and void, thus freeing up huge income streams for prospective new owners, like Paul Murray.
If such obstacles are removed from the path as anticipated, the likelihood of Murray concluding a takeover deal will increase dramatically. Any new owner will still have to deal with the £15m owed to HMRC in unpaid PAYE and the possibility of a further £49m from the so-called ‘big tax case’.
However, sources close to the negotiations say that HMRC are prepared to talk about the possibility of a CVA - the creditors’ arrangement required for the club to exit administration - as long is there is ‘regime change’.

Guys am i the only one missing a trick here? i understand whyte mortgaged the season tickets to himself basically not to rangers. which he in turn gave to lloyds if the papers are to be believed. does it actually matter if the money he gave came from his own personal account or was essentially loaned? it sound similar if any of us where to buy a house, not our money but our house.

i am asking this question as at every corner we turn which has a bit of light something else happens and the light gets further and further away

Agree0 Disagree0

Duff and Phelps statement yesterday is purely propaganda to ensure the fans keep turning up when they void season tickets. There is no legal responsibility proscribed to them to do the things they are suggesting. And for the last time HMRC will not do a deal

Agree0 Disagree0

Why wouldn't HMRC do a deal? If they don't they are shooting themselves in the foot because it will force liquidation and they'll then get jack.

TAXMAN ready to do deal to save RANGERS for as little as 10p in the pound. source the sun. justice at last

Believable27 Unbelievable24

Total nonsense in both the deal and "justice".

Let's give everyone else 90p back of their tax shall we?

Agree0 Disagree0

How is this Justice?

Agree0 Disagree0

Justice would see Rangers liquidated.

Agree0 Disagree0

Never in a million years will the tax man do a deal like .

Agree0 Disagree0

Why's this justice?

Agree0 Disagree0

Justice ? for who ? the taxpayer ? the schools, hospitals, armed services personnel, the disabled ? who exactly ? all the foregoing have been cheated by the actions of the "leaders" of the club. Where is the justice ?

Agree0 Disagree0

Justice at last, what a joke, you have been cheating and got caught, it is shocking that they may get away with it, if it was Mr ordinary member of the public there is no way the tax man would let them off

Agree0 Disagree0

If found guilty how can it be justis if you strike a deal?so can every1 just forget about there taxes and then just pay a fraction.the country would be in some state if that happened.people like you and whyte proves why the country is in a bad state and as a Celtic supporter feel sorry for other rangers fans being associated with you.rusty the tim

Agree0 Disagree0

B****cks as well!

Agree0 Disagree0

Justice at last?? HOW? Swindle the decent, hardworking taxpayer out of 90% of taxes due & you call that justice? I've followed RFC all my life but sorry, that's daylight robbery in my eyes!

Agree0 Disagree0

How is this justice - the club are not paying money money they owe, should every hard working scot have to take a hit because of the mismanagement at Greyskull

Agree0 Disagree0

Agree with the not justice comments but people are wrong to say that deals like this have not been done previously. May not agree with it but it is a possibility

Agree0 Disagree0

HMRC have delayed case to ensure changes in tax law (April 1st) come into effect ensure any new owner cannot escape tax case. fully payment will be taken. Dreaming if you think 10p in the pound. Justice, I think not. WATP - We Aren't Tax Payers!

Agree0 Disagree0

The deal will only be struck if Whyte is removed so lets not all get too excited. Scottish football not saved yet. In Duff and Phelps we trust.

Agree0 Disagree0

Taxman WILL do a deal, as they know if Rangers fold, they get NOTHING. Celtic fans will be BEALING at this news. FAIL FAIL you persons!!!

Agree0 Disagree0

Well then every major football club in europe should be put into administration then, as there debts are out of control

Agree0 Disagree0

To all those who dont have the best interests of the club at heart who only wish to see a liquidation, Rangers will always be scotland's top club, form is temporary Class is Permanent

Agree0 Disagree0

Btw if any Joe Public gets into "financial difficulties" and goes into the equivalent of "administration" then i think you'll find that "deals" are done also. I expect massive demonstrations in the East End marching against all the corporate giants to recover the billions sneaked away year on year with tax dodges and "foreign" accounts (or mb not). Let me state i don't agree with what may be going on but as has been said before on here business is business

Agree0 Disagree0

It happens all the time. Companies shutting down, starting up under diff name to avoid payments. People having cva and debt management. Everyone dodges so dont come the only Rangers patter. U lot need us so be happy when we return to conquer

Agree0 Disagree0

If rangers fold assets will be sold to raise cash and creditors will get money. Believe me. you all know the assets players, trophys, shirts, murray park (depending who owns it) and ibrox, which according to darryl king on superscoreboard last nite is valued by rangers @75-80 million. anything left over is shared by the shareholders.

The above are the reasons mr whyte has wanted liquidation all along. he may be a rat but the bbc warned us he had a record for it and by the looks of it he will do it again

Agree0 Disagree0

Form is temporary class is permanent . Your club owes nearly £100m in tax. Really classy that isn't. They WON'T do a deal even if they know they get nothing if you are liquidated. They know you won't do it again if you are. Tax fraud, ebt's, second contracts, tainted titles, who's got class? you f*****g haven't

Agree0 Disagree0

David Murray getting sued for the Tax and Craig Whyte to give all the money he took from Rangers back would be justice, can't remember a Celtic Fan blameing the actual club when their team was in a financial mess. Get the rotten wood out!!

Agree0 Disagree0

Will you be coming back tomorrow to say the amount is £200 million owed.Where are you getting your figures from?I have seen about forty different amounts so far,and I don't know anybody that can tell where they are coming from.Anybody that thinks the taxman doesn't do deals with big business is living in some other world.Like it or lump it,that's the way it is.

Owner Craig Whyte claims he took the first step towards administration to ensure Rangers did not die altogether under the potential burden of a "shocking" £75million tax bill.

The club lodged legal papers signalling their intention to enter administration with the Court of Session in Edinburgh today.

The Scottish champions are awaiting the verdict of a tax tribunal which it was thought could cost the club around £49million if the judgment went against them, but Whyte revealed that figure was substantially out.

The HMRC case centres around the use of employee benefits trusts (EBTs) which were in place before Whyte took over from Sir David Murray last May.

Whyte told Press Association Sport it was necessary to look at administration.

"If we hadn't done that then liquidation could have been a possibility," he said. "This secures the long-term future of the club.

"The £49million often quoted is the tax bill and interest but they can charge you a penalty on the tax bill so we could have been up at £75million.

"It is a shocking figure and there is no way we could pay it."

Whyte was heckled by some Rangers fans when he emerged outside Ibrox after 6pm to read a statement outlining his intentions.

The Motherwell-born businessman admitted it had been a "tough day" but insists he has no intentions of leaving the club.

"I can understand how the fans feel," he said. "But I came in to sort out the financial situation and that's what I will do.

"It has been a tough day. No one likes it but I am doing what has to be done. I would say to the fans to stick with (manager) Ally McCoist and the team, they need you more than ever.

"I have not gone through what I have gone through in the last year to walk away. I am here to stay."

Amid a long explanatory statement on the club's website, Whyte outlined why he believes winning the tax case is unlikely.

"There is no realistic or practical alternative to our approach as HMRC has made it plain to the club that should we be successful in the forthcoming tax tribunal decision, they will 'appeal, appeal and appeal again' the decision," he said.

"This would leave the club facing years of uncertainty and also having to pay immediately a range of liabilities to HMRC.

"Even if the club were to succeed in the tax tribunal, it would still face substantial liabilities. Zero liability will not happen."

Rangers are currently four points behind SPL leaders Celtic and 19 above nearest challengers Motherwell, who have a game in hand.

Administration would bring an automatic 10-point deduction and would likely lead to the sale of on-field assets while manager McCoist could expect to see further reductions in the size of his squad.

Rangers also face a race to prove to the Scottish Football Association that their finances are in shape before March 31 or face expulsion from Europe next season.

Although there is no specific ban on clubs in administration playing in Europe, it is understood it would be very difficult for such a club to meet the other financial criteria needed for a licence.

Whyte was reluctant to respond to the suggestion that the club and the supporters may have to write off this season.

"We are not in administration yet," said Whyte, while claiming this move was the first step on the "road to recovery".

"Rangers will always be around, Rangers will always be here at Ibrox," he told Sky Sport News.

"This was the best way to take the club forward and end the uncertainty that is surrounding Rangers at the moment.

"The fact is there no way Rangers can pay that tax bill if that judgment goes against us, it just can't be done.

"I have to make the decision for the long-term future of Rangers.

"This was discussed long before my time when the tax case first became known and it is a really tough decision.

"I bought the club with this tax case hanging over it, it was always an option. We hoped we would find a way to resolve it without going down this route.

"It became apparent at the end of last week that HMRC would not do a deal with us and so we had no choice.

"We will exit administration, we hope, by means of a CVA, which will deal with creditors.

"I don't want to get into that now but that is how we will exit administration, if indeed we go into administration.

"Keep in mind we are not in administration at the moment."

Whyte bought out Murray's shareholding for £1 while pledging to pay off £18million owed to Lloyds Banking Group and invest about £25million in the playing squad over five years.

The club have still not published audited accounts due before the end of last year or held an AGM as required.

That led to trading on their shares being suspended last month by the PLUS Stock Exchange, who are investigating Whyte's admission that he had been disqualified as a director for seven years from 2000. A similar SFA inquiry into Whyte's business background remains ongoing.

Last week former Rangers chairman Alastair Johnston revealed he had asked the Government's Insolvency Service to clarify "certain financial arrangements" relating to the takeover.

Whyte had earlier admitted securing funds from loan company Ticketus in lieu of future season ticket sales, but denied using the cash to fund his takeover.

Well done to all 4 of them. although it's been a tough week, we should remember that all the players proposed the cuts on Monday, it got complicated when their agents became involved. To be honest I don't care how we got there, just that we did, and well done to all of the players for accepting this.

Agree0 Disagree0

Mugs they're going to lose there jobs! In my eyes they've saved other jobs at ibrox ya doughball, these players have possibly gave us a wee bit of breathing space, just like the others who have taken paycuts. If any of the fans boos these players if we get beat or play bad they should be kicked out of ibrox.Don't forget what they've done for us.I know there on a big wage but would you take a 75% pay cut or work for free.

Agree0 Disagree0

Four players agree to 75% wage cut to keep redundancies at the club to a MINIMUM. Players may still be leaving today. Plus from what I have heard the wage cuts still don't save the required amount. Very admirable from the four players but has the rest of the squad agreed to their wage cuts? we will see

Agree0 Disagree0

We dont do walking away just from our taxes - very good. If craig whyte is removed (heres hoping) and the ticketus deal is null invoid,

who is responsible for the 18million he paid to lloyds.

as regardless of where he got the money from he still used it to clear club debt..

he will want that money back, even if it is just for him to pay back ticketus.. who im guessing will then chase him for there money if they cant get it off of rangers.. there is no way craig whyte will except being stuck with an 18 million debt..

Same Colours. Hope not that clown that was in charge of Man City !

Agree0 Disagree0

Craig Whyte will step down as chairman but remain owner, and owner of Assets.
Ticketus will remain owner of 60% tickets for 4 years.

Agree0 Disagree0

Surely at this point after 3 weeks these administrators have audible accounts and if i am not mistaken can they not also sign off these accounts.
so my own thoughts on this extends me to believe that surely if a buyer and CVA's can be granted prior to end march can these accounts not be used and if so european entry should not beyond reach.

You make it all sound so easy-the sun you say one of their 7 bidders are that tim tommy, the same paper who gave whyte a soap box just days before administration enough said

Agree0 Disagree0

The Sun is punting a story about HMRC being influenced by treasury/ government to go soft on us. Pennies in pound mentioned, all smells like a deal to attract buyer. What if hovt were to give sweeteners to somebody uk does business abroad? And removes tax? Well done Cameron.

Agree0 Disagree0

Whyte will be entitled to whatever capital he has provided. And he will still owns ibrox and Murray Park! when are you guys going to wake up to the enormity of your plight?

Agree0 Disagree0

See when we get out of administration, if the penalties imposed the other clubs on their witch hunt against us are too draconian, we should boycott their games in protest.

The rest of the SPL seem to think they've got power over us now ..... We'll see who has the power !

Agree0 Disagree0

Will you lot never learn and stop believing the rubbish tha the sun pumps out. Tickitus is the UK arm of a multinational event organisation, who enter deals, they have a very large legal section who have covered every eventuality, they have the LEGAL right to recover the money for the advance and including a profit, from Rangers as is, Rangers as newco, Rangers in any shape or form and NOT CW. Please read the information available bout business deals and the securities that event organisors have to put in place. So no matter what happens to the club, Ticketus have a mortgage on the fabric and future events at Ibrox (Murray Park). It therefore follows no matter who takes over Ticketus must be paid

Agree0 Disagree0

Total and utter Bull, Admin have no power whatsoever to remove Craig Whyte, ans if you mean being found to be an unfit person to run Rangers, that is in the opinion of a Committee of a club, And a social club is all the SFA, are. Removing Craig Whyte and proving what you claim could drag through courts for years, Ticketus deal was done with Craig Whyte with Assurances and written confirmation
of Rangers Football Club, If these Assurances where infact fraudulent documents i.e Forgeries, Then that would be another criminal court case, that would drag on, So don't be silly and post crap like this giving people who don't understand the Law of the Land hope. it can not and will not happen, certainly not in the year 2012. No matter what the truth is.

Agree0 Disagree0

The tims are gonnae be ragin. Pay back 10p in the pound. Maybe HMRC arent that bad after all.

Agree0 Disagree0

PMSL....what are "audible accounts" ? do they speak the debt figures ? Also now we have some on here who believe Cameron will change UK tax law to suit Rangers.....some people really have no clue.

Agree0 Disagree0

CW will have the Hectors in court for years if they try this......Nothing can be done before the case on 30th March, even then any lossers will have the right to a first case appeal.....The administrators are the only ones who will win from these stalling tactics.
Its over Rangers are dead, all we are now waiting for its the funeral (sale of the assets.).

Agree0 Disagree0

To the person who suggests ticketus would be able to chase Rangers in any form for their cash ....you seriously need to do your homework. That is certainly not the case. For a start during liquidation they would be in a queue like everyone else. But it is far more complicated than that. There is a distinct chance they could receive and being entitled to nothing. But again it is a complicated process, clearly you have no understanding of it.
I'm at a loss as to why people post these supposed facts. Getting tired now of every other supporter from every other club getting involved. If this was happening elsewhere (and it has in past) I really wouldn't give a sh*t.

Agree0 Disagree0

Rangers for champions league next year, win everthing in scotland, back in business, everything fine, dont worry about potential 100m pounds of debt.

Admin have EVERY right to remove CW and sell off everything if they want. I know because my dad who owned a £4 million pound business was removed within 10 minutes when administrators were called in. The whole company was sold off to pay back creditors with over £150,000 left which the administrators kept for themselves. The whole situation was over and done in a month. All for the sake of being over the company overdraft by £50. A deadline was given to reduce the overdraft to £500,000 within 3 months from £1,000,000, the deadline day came and the balance was -£500,050. Administrators came in at noon and my dad's 37 year business was over by 1pm.

Administrators have ALL the rights and dont let any idiot on here try to convince you any other way!

SunSport can reveal more than 40 potential bidders have thrown their hat into the ring as stricken Gers slide towards meltdown.

Administrators Duff and Phelps have whittled that list down to seven they believe are genuine and plan to hold crunch talks in the days ahead.

It's understood two of the enquiries are from the USA — as SunSport revealed three weeks ago.

And the administrators are determined to clinch a deal soon and avoid seeing the club tumble into liquidation.

The crisis-hit SPL champs are up for grabs after owner Craig Whyte plunged them into administration almost four weeks ago.

Duff and Phelps have since been swamped with enquiries from all over the world.

Paul Murray and his Blue Knights have been the most high-profile candidates — with Sale Sharks owner Brian Kennedy also understood to be monitoring the situation.

Gers are also believed to be attracting interest from the Far East, as well as Stateside.

The administrators want to speed up the process, insisting the Ibrox club remain on the critical list.

They set a March 16 deadline in an effort to separate the wheat from the chaff.

Takeover talks have been ongoing throughout the administration process and are set to continue with two interested parties today.

Former Ibrox director Murray has already claimed he could help save Gers. But it's understood the administrators are growing tired of the posturing and instead want face-to-face talks.

Interested bidders have until next Friday to submit their offer and show their hand.

However, SunSport understands it could be weeks before any final sale goes through.

Meanwhile, senior administrator Paul Clark has moved to allay Gers fans fears over liquidation.

Director Dave King insisted that scenario was now inevitable as the club battle to stay afloat.

But Clark insists a deal can be struck that will get Gers out of administration before the end of the season.

He said: I am confident we can gain a company voluntary arrangement and be out of administration before the end of the season.

So you think where last year you couldnt find anyone to buy yous until your whyte knight came...no you think there are 40 peopel lined up that are willing to take on the hmrc bill and all other punishment coming your way. if someone does you should question them because they are goin to be losing alot of money, keep clinching on and tellingyour selves it will get better because im sure that works...so deluted! and after saying how the media is out to get you, you now believe them after shouting how they sre the problem...a movie need to be mad because yous make yourselves look more and more like fools, lol

Agree0 Disagree0

None of us should believe D&P.

Businessmen expressing an interest is not a sale to a philanthropic billionaire. No one will buy until the tax is resolved. When the case goes against rangers, liquidation is all that can happen.
D&P are talking nonsense on a CVA look at how long it has taken them regarding players cuts. Creditors accepting CVAs when there's assets to be sold is unlikely.

Agree0 Disagree0

I only saw 2 words here... 'Far East' Would be great but cant see it happening.

Agree0 Disagree0

That must have been due to the response to the advert on the front page of the Sun yesterday then I take it, offers over £1 I believe the advert said, if my Social loan comes through today believe me there will be 41 interested parties I am getting £364 and would bid the lot.

Agree0 Disagree0

Great we get a CVA, pay the creditors 10p in the £, shaft the tax man and all the honest tax paying people of Scotland for millions, Result WATP>

Learn how to spell correctly before you come on here spouting your hatred for all things Rangers!!

Fact the facts....its finally looking up for Rangers and you just cant handle that.......and we are LOVING IT!!!!!!!

Have you not got some jelly and ice cream to go and eat????

Agree0 Disagree0

I stopped reading after the first sentence revealed the source.

Agree0 Disagree0

Rangers will have a new owner soon, they can have thier ice cream and jelly when this is all over we are going to have the main course. watp

Agree0 Disagree0

I think you meant "face the facts", typical slag someone else off and cant spell youself. Personally don't care if rangers survive or not. No one knows the FACTS. The reality is, it's a total mess and no matter which way it ends, rangers will struggle. Ill enjoy a little jelly and ice cream this season, and await the challenge for the next 5 to 15 years.

Agree0 Disagree0

Ok "facts the facts", try and make some sense. there was nothing in what a wrote about hate towards your club, so why are you brining it up, i only stated an opinion. it seems to me that if anyone disagrees with you then they are wrong and hate everything rankers....well that is the problem with you and your club, so IF your team stays open as it changes so should you.. How sad is it with the first good news (which is prob not true) you have a go at others ie Celtic, well if you think you gegt under our skin cause you may not go under jsut remember we are on the TREBLE while use try and make it in 3rd...bring on europe, are we going to see you there? didnt think so, do that get under your skin?
