Whilst not the result we wanted, that point could be crucial. We have one game left not to lose to guarantee Europe. HIVs need to win 2 games. Jambos might do us a favour tomorrow. Ideally we beat HIVs and sheep lose. 2nd place still possible but given how were playing its unlikely.

Ibs get a draw tomorrow and beat rangers and Celtic win hibs are in 2nd place and even if we stay in 4th if celtic win Scottish cup jibs still in Europe

I don’t think 2nd is unlikely at all, infact only losing against Hibs will stop us being 2nd. If Hearts beat Hibs we would need to lose 5-0 in last game to not finish above Hibs. If Hibs draw or win they will either be 2 points or goal difference worse off than us so again a draw for us guarantees we stay above them and unless the Sheep take anything from celtic park a point would see us finish 2nd on goal difference ahead of Aberdeen and Hibs.

Halliday had a decent game last night, they got nothing down their right all night and all our play was down our left so change the record. And by the way why is our ONLY striker even in our box for their corner? He should be on the half way line tying up 2 or three of their defenders.

Morelos was probably given instructions by the manager to get back for corners and to be fair he won a few headers etc to clear the danger from our box, that's what happens when we have a shaky defence

To be fair on him, when we cummings came on and he wasn't having to cover for haliday he had more freedom.

No we have the option to make the deal permanent if WE want for I think £1.2m and same option for £900k for Cummings.
He gives our squad good balance, has scored a few with at least 5 assists already, of course he can do more but we have no other natural LW in team so it’s a no brainer for me i'd definitely conclude the deal.

Murphy is a good player, it’s no coincidence that he’s been poor since Halliday has been behind him. He needs someone to overlap him, like John did so space is created for him to cut inside. Halliday doesn’t overlap so he’s up against two defenders for the most part

Have yous even watched any Rangers games? Murphy doesn't use any overlap, he has one trick and its to cut inside and run parallel with the goal until he either loses the ball or it ends up wide right. To blame Halliday for Murphys poor form is a disgrace.

Have to agree with Jyf here. Murphy has been poor since Old Firm loss at Ibrox. John only got injured a couple of matches ago. Halliday is not much of a LB but seem a little unfair to blame him for Murphy's weak form.

Smodge81 I am absolutely entitled to my opinion, I have attended virtually every home game in 52 years. He may be young, but he was very poor for us and was dreadful against Celtic. Goes on loan to QoS played three games in six months.
I hope the lad does well, but he has shown very little to date

Personally I think he’s mediocre at present, arguably a better Left back than Halliday and potentially in future better than Wallace who is average anyway.
With our current squad he is probably best back up to injured Declan John but if we want to progress this standard of player can’t be anywhere near our squad, loan him out again to see if he can still improve or get rid.

Disagree with Commons statement that Rangers need around 70 million to close the gap on Celtic. Disagree that the gulf between the 2 sides is even that big. Hibs have had good results against Celtic this season. Does that mean there is only a slight gap between them? Players bottled it as there was no belief. No other reason. If Stevie G can drill that in to the current players as well as strenghten the squad with a few additions, then I believe it's a 2 horse race between us and a bang average Celtic team. No 70 million needed.

Absolute nonsense that Gerrard only has £6mil to spend. It's not even a rumour either, it's people being very thick and thinking that a £6mil share issue is Gerrards Transfer budget. Gerrard will have around £15mil to spend this summer (Wages and Transfers) I actually agree with Dave King, our current crop of players are actually quite good, however have been let down by poor management.

Last season Dave King announced that all season ticket money would go to the manager for players. the result was that even the Mexican clubs shafted us for overpriced duds, Scottish clubs like Hearts wanted 1 million for Walker and then sold him for a lot less, we were seen as mugs with money to burn,
This Time King hasn't announced how much will be going to the manager because if he did this would only help the other side to plan their own transfer strategy, think about it if Celtic think we have £20 million to spend on players then they will only go out and spend accordingly to keep one step ahead of us,
Its better to just wait and see and I think we will all be be surprised at who Steven Gerrard brings in, onwards and upwards

Guys, even if in the worst case scenario Gerrard only has £6m to spend, surely that's more than Hibs or Aberdeen have. We should still be able to guarantee 2nd with that money. That's where the previous managers failed. A bigger budget than any team outwith Celtic and nothing to show for it. I know 2nd isn't what we want, but we should be claiming that spot easily with the money that has been spent already.

I’m not sure some fans are aware of what King was saying. From what I gather we have £16m Net spend for our budget of playing staff, £6m more than we initially planned that Dave King said he will fund if we can’t get share issue to fund it.
We currently spend £18m in wages, any players released, sold, loaned out of released on mutual termination for usually nominal fee will free up some wages, each £10k weekly wage equates to £0.5m
Morelos, Tavernier and Windass could generate some additional income if sold and all are replaceable.
Can see us signing at least 1 big name under Stevie G in 1st window just as a statement of intent

IMHO I don't believe that SG has became our new manager on the back of a 6mil share issue. why would a player who has played at the very top of the game, captained his country chance blemishing his inaugural footsteps into management, doesn't add up. something going on, and it may be this time we are playing our cards close to our chests. if we tell all and sundry we have millions to spend, then bang average players and there agents want plenty. let's do it all on the quiet and surprise the haters.

Well here is a cracker, I've recently read that Stevie G is in a win win situation. He is seemingly on loan to Rangers at Liverpools request. They see him as a future manager and want to see how he copes in a more difficult enviornment than what he will deal with at Liverpool. Nobody within either club expect him to be in Glasgow for 4 years. As i was told yesterday this is a rumours site when i told a few of you too stop talking single fish and the above is an absolute belter of a rumour. Now how many of you are going to give this some thought as it is as comicial as the 50mil investment rumours that turned you too a Slavering laughing stock. If there was investment Davey boy would have been the very first person too tell us. This notion of we have secret investment that we are keeping quiet to stop clubs fleecing us is absolutely ludicris. Last season Davey boy openly said we would get all the season ticket money. Lies. Clubs are extremely cautious about dealing with us financially due to our poor financial situation. A fresh investment headline would only improve our situation and give us a more positive window, instead of the Jaime Murphy saga. Stop trying to invent a postive spin on this guys we only end up disapointed. We deserve better. Who all here are buying shares, if they ever appear? i'm pretty sure there was also talk of a share issue last year, then when we got pumped out of Europe it disapeared. Tread carefully fellow bears, stop jumping on the bandwagon we are a lot more credible as a fan group without the slavering.

Players use our league as a stepping stone all the time, if they are successful then they must have played well enough to deserve it which means that our clubs got the benefit of that so why can’t managers do the same. If SG is only here to build his cv for something more then surely he will know that only success will bring him that. We should expect 100% from the manager and he will give that as he has a purpose and a focus to be successful (he knows the world is watching and if he fails then who would want to hire that) .
