really feel we missed a trick not getting chris coleman in.

08 Dec 2017 20:35:16
No we didn't!

08 Dec 2017 20:36:39
Aye, Sunderland look like they're reaping the benefits of that signature.

09 Dec 2017 07:58:34
If the board want to walk away with any credibility they need to appoint a top manager Possibly one of the Dutch boys Frank or Geo

09 Dec 2017 20:08:07
Arsene Wenger has earmarked Gio for replacing him so no chance of him going to Ibrox, Frank de Boer is a must it sends out a message that we are a big club and have ambitions, McInnes was safe bet he knows what's expected, the fishbowl of glasgow and knows SPL, De Boer is a big name inter and palace screwed him 4 games and sacked that's just wrong, only way Gers can make a statement that we are going to match celtic is by getting a a big name manager, the club has money not as much as them but we can attract de boer if King and Co are serious about challenging celtic they need to appoint a big manager

08 Dec 2017 19:18:53
Heard a rumour tony pullis being interviewed today?
Anyone else hear this?

08 Dec 2017 19:39:26
No, as the bored has already said murty in charge untill the new year

08 Dec 2017 19:44:37
Naw never heard it. Just wait and see, the speculation is just boring now. Murty is in charge and I think if he can get 3 points off celtic he should get the job. Listen to his interviews, he's starting to get fed up being kept at youth level. He will be away to manage first team soon, couldn't blame him.

09 Dec 2017 09:28:56
Tony Pulis will become Swansea manager before Christmas. Unless our board have a spare £4m a year then it is a non starter. That's before a transfer is made. Murty is the Only option now. If the board bring anyone else in at this stage it would have to be McLeish, who knows the club and the league already.

09 Dec 2017 10:04:22
pullis is not the answer, boring brand of football doesn't inspire me so what chance the players/ fans got?

10 Dec 2017 09:49:04
ag broxi
board credibility
they saved us

We can all thank the real reason DM hasn't taken the Rangers Job, The Media and everybody pundits) having to much to say, he's had a real bad taste of it especially in the last few weeks and he knows joining Rangers it would just get a hundred times worse and he's decided he would rather live without it as his family would also get dragged into it, also the time and messing about our board took to finally approach Aberdeen for him didn't go down well at all either! how do i know this? i live in Aberdeen but come from a mad Rangers Family and have supported them for 40 years, and i have a family member who is a grade 2 offical Refree who knows DM well and talks to him on quite a regular basis. d

08 Dec 2017 09:54:16
Next. DM decided to stay good luck to him. Plenty of options. If Murty had beat Dundee and Hamilton he would have job by now. We are in safe hands with Murty. Why the rush when most likely have little to spend on players in Jan anyway. Half the support didn't want DM anyway. Let's get the right person and if it takes until next year so be it.

08 Dec 2017 09:55:43
Media my backside, the only people to blame are that useless excuse of a board!

08 Dec 2017 14:15:39
DM has stated he is happy at Aberdeen. Who's to say he would have joined 5 weeks ago? He's made his bed and as a man he has to deal with the regret if any. He didn't want the job so now time to forget and move on.

08 Dec 2017 13:07:35
Stop being paranoid and behaving like Celtic fans with your conspiracy theories about the media, it’s embarrassing.

08 Dec 2017 16:36:15
How could he have been approached 5 weeks ago? It’s already clear that as our previous manager was still on Garden Leave, we were unable to progress appointing a new manager until either we terminated that contract (incurring a significant financial outlay) or Pedro seeks to cancel his contract by moving to a new appointment, which happened on Saturday 2nd December. I wish everyone would stick to the facts, before slaying the board in respect of the process they followed.

Surely seeking amicable terms with the previous manager and back room staff, saving money which can be invested in the new manager or playing staff is credit to the Board?

The Mcinnes saga is embarrassing, but probably linked to him personally feeing loyalty to his current chairman and his preference to work without the involvement of a director of Football, as well as the addition of the pressure he inherits as the manager of such a big club that is still rebuilding

He’s made his decision, we move on, Murty is a safe pair of hands for now - let the Board take their time and we will eventually get the right man for the job

Good post Bearnecessitie

08 Dec 2017 21:26:43
the facts are simple, rangers asked to speak to dm, aberdeen refused, dm then declined to even speak to rangers. he has his reasons, anything we think it is is purely speculation. maybe he thought he didn't want it since half the fans didn't want him. maybe the risk of failure is too much. remember he also knows how hostile us fans get if result aren't going our way. it can't be wages or what's in th transfer kitty because he didn't discuss those. matter closed move on.

09 Dec 2017 02:57:45
I've not been on here for months so I'm not your usual sniper. Admittedly I don't appear in peace either.
All this official/ unofficial nonsense please give it a rest.
Media wise I'd say he has been shoehorned. There was a real chance due to that. He probably considered. Come on though lads. IF a few days ago he said F it that wouldn't of sold papers would it? He didn't have to sit directly with any agent. Unofficially he could of sat with or talked to any rangers man that was connected for a casual conversation. He would of asked the right questions, the ones that aren't openly talked about. Made his decision with that non publicised info and said no. Thought he was a shoo-in. The growth and projection figures of the accounts and the vitality of that hinge clearly didn't wash so he walked away.

09 Dec 2017 08:56:57
So bear necessities your saying pedro walked away with no payment, 3 years left on the deal. So our last 2 managers have walked without a penny, lucky break there!

09 Dec 2017 11:22:26
I don’t have factual info re the severance arrangements Isle of Mull, but he was on Garden leave - so on full pay, and still technically in the post of Rangers Manager. He then took a new job, which would suggest he would be the one responsible for terminating the contract, as he would have to have resigned, so on those terms I can’t see why we would have had to pay anything, other than basic severance - I would expect this was something Pedro and the board agreed in an amicable fashion, that he would step away, remain under contract until he secured new employment

alex 1972,
bang on he decided with his MRS.
CANT DO IT
forget all the other bull

08 Dec 2017 08:58:38
Was listening to clyde big DJ saying it doesn't matter that we have no money because money will be found. Maybe in by gone years Derek but we have to live in the real world. In the accounts its says we need over £7m to get us over the next 18 months, that was without pedro and his gang pay off. Our finances have been blown out of the water again.

08 Dec 2017 12:44:59
TBF Isle of mull, that's a fair point but let's not get carried away with the doomed finances. DK and his band of merry men took a gamble with Pedro that backfired, if they realise their error they'll put their hands in their pockets and get the finances stabilised for the remainder of the season and onward.

We're all aware that the RANGERS BRAND is one of the biggest in football and with that there's interest from businessmen everywhere but until we have a team capable of entertaining and competing we won't get the external financial investment we need to help us get back to were we belong.

IMO, although i could stab myself in the face for saying this, phatboy Ashley seems to be lurking in the shadows with a potential pot of cash to invest in a business that will bring him better options than NUFC ever did for minimal outlay. As much of a see you next thursday he was to us, he could still make things right given the chance.

08 Dec 2017 12:44:58
Big dj doesn’t have a clue what’s happening inside ibrox

08 Dec 2017 13:09:02
The director of football is the big problem for any new managers coming in.

08 Dec 2017 13:30:47
Big DJ hasn't a clue period. What i can't get my head round is why was McInnes not quietly sounded out for the position before it got into the media and did we actually speak to him. Blaming the board without the facts is just belching out loud.

08 Dec 2017 19:11:57
just no. don't want ashley or his money

08 Dec 2017 19:23:18
Your completely forgetting that most likely in March there will be a share issue from shares that will be converted from the interest free loans that Park, Letham and Taylor have put into the club.

That means the loans they are owed convert into shares so no debt to them, Then they sell the shares to someone else possibly bringing in more money and at the very least wiping out £16 million of personal debt to those 3.

08 Dec 2017 19:53:10
In the eighties rangers were jobbie and in came sir david murray, I think business men would rather come in when the team is doing bad and the shares are low then invest and make the team better, makes sense. Murray was a game changer, its just a shame he never got the champions league he wanted us to get, it cost us everything trying to be the best team in the world but I wouldn't change it for the world, best times of my life.

Ibrox bouncing every match amazing players amazing atmosphere, beating the dhims winning trebles. Hatley, butcher, mccoist, gazza, laudrup, goram, klos, negri just a few off the top of my nut. They were the days.

08 Dec 2017 19:59:52
selling and buying shres doesn't bring money to rangers only the sale of new shares does

08 Dec 2017 22:56:29
Maybe I’m different Fod, but I was a teenager during the glory days and remember them fondly, especially Parma game, Amato header in 2-2 game, Gaza diving header in 96 etc. but when I rock up at ibrox these days or count the hours till we kick off on the tele, the feelings still run deep and I have the same excitement in my bones, sure it would be brilliant to be where we were in the 90’s but I’m absolutely buzzing for tomorrow and I started this week flat as a pancake at the thought of Derek McInnes being handed a three year deal. We can get 2nd this season I have no doubt, smart investment of the £800k that we were so happy to splurge on McInnes and a united support behind Murty will see us to 2nd and hopefully we get off to a good start tomorrow!
