Stevie naismith says he'll play for free to earn a deal with us. So who wouldn't want him back. Me I'd take him in a minute.

07 Jan 2018 23:51:12
Personally, I think it’s the least he owes us for the unnecessary press conference when he left. We never received a fee for him and that was his prerogative for which he has lined his pockets ever since! I ain’t one to hold a grudge however and I’d give him the chance to earn a longer deal in the 2nd half of the season provided Norwich rip up his contract. I completely understand those who want him nowhere near the club though!

08 Jan 2018 05:08:33
Naisy for free till the end of the season why not, shows he's keen to play for the badge so let's get him in.

08 Jan 2018 08:45:11
Did he actually say that though?

08 Jan 2018 08:45:38
Making someone work worse free is unethical and unfair. Gaining in anyway from effectively a slave workforce is terrible. Right up their street. 😂

08 Jan 2018 09:00:26
I thought you couldn't play for free if you are under contract it has to have some sort of wage unless he is planning on donating what ever wage that would be to somewhere but personally I can't see him coming back to rangers he is a decent player but for what we are needing I think he is at the wrong end of his career I'd prefer to go for a younger option who will have more years in front of them playing wise and who will have more of a sell on value that will benefit rangers

08 Jan 2018 09:38:43
I think it’s the sentiment behind it that’s the key, we would obviously have to pay him something ie £1500 per week or something but would be way off what he could get elsewhere on a bosman

08 Jan 2018 12:18:53
Whilst I do think Naismith would strengthen our squad, I also believe he owes the Rangers support a full apology for his past behaviour. As I recall, Rangers paid Naismith handsomely for a long period during which he was injured. He could easily have moved on whilst (like Steve Davis) securing a fee for Rangers who really needed it at the time. However, he chose no to and I'm sure that was to his benefit financially. To now 'supposedly' offer to play for free seems to indicate his mind-set is still all about the 'money'. Yes, playing for free would be a great gesture but first and foremost, man up and admit that the way you departed was unfair on both club and support and apologise unreservedly, only maybe then will the Rangers support be prepared to accept him back. If not, then no thanks.

08 Jan 2018 12:25:11
Id wipe old peoples arses for 1500 quid a week. poor naismith having to play football for his boyhood heroes for that

08 Jan 2018 12:42:03
Lets be honest he seen through the Bull charles green was spouting and what he thought was best and tried to warn everyone and guess what lads it was all true so he owes us nothing as far as i'm concerned. if he's good enough i will welcome him back in a heart beat he is better than what we have signed recently.

08 Jan 2018 12:46:36
R. T. I. D i will give Ed my contact details and someone will be in touch with you soon.

08 Jan 2018 12:54:34
Naismith? What he did back in the day will be a sore one for a lot off rangers fans to except after all he has a family to look after and in any walks of life you look after number one and in my eyes he did
but if the guy is willing to come back and even play for a small amount (wages ) so be it you are more then welcome in my eyes you have always showed that you are a true blue at heart and this is want this great club is about

08 Jan 2018 13:36:03
I’m sure he apologized recently and took responsibility for how he left the club . Until recently I would agree with all those who are against his return, however I want our club back being competitive and he would help achieve this - if we get him cheap enough and on a pay as you play basis - then what’s the risk.
He’s a proven international player who genuinely loves the club - in my eyes the more of them the better

I hope this window sees a rangers team constructed with players who understand what it is to play for the Jersey

08 Jan 2018 14:41:46
Injury prone

09 Jan 2018 09:13:00
Liam1990

Your happy then that he held a press conference and declared Rangers dead then?

09 Jan 2018 23:06:16
Aye spot on Stewie. That was absolutely 100 per cent unforgivable and completely unnecessary. The wee rat can gtf for me, I will never forget what he and shittaker did that day.

07 Jan 2018 21:25:47
Anyone heard anything about Sean longstaff of newcastle that we are suppose to be scouting? And longstaff what a name lol.

07 Jan 2018 20:43:38
Forgive me if I'm wrong but didn't Cummings only play well in the championship, I can't remember him doing anything in the SPL. And so I don't get all the hype for what's essentially a really good championship player. If we get him on loan, then fine, but I wouldn't take a risk on him if we had to buy him as he has never performed at this level.

07 Jan 2018 22:43:45
Would b great signing hope we get him.

08 Jan 2018 07:25:19
Zikos, Cummings was only 18 when His got relegated and only broke into their team in the playoffs, where he scored their two goals against Hamilton.

08 Jan 2018 10:02:37
I'm not a fan of Cummings tbh. He comes across as a wee bed, much like Griffiths and would not want him near us. Anyway he hasn't kicked a ball down south. Also stories of late night drinking etc apparently. I think you guys are right when you say he stood out in the championship and not in the top flight. I think everybody remembers him lifting his game against us and assumed that was his normal form, which clearly is not the case. I'd leave well alone.

08 Jan 2018 11:52:08
If Cummings was half as good for us as Griffiths has been for them, it's a yes from me.

08 Jan 2018 14:43:45
I'm pretty sure Cummings only came into the Hibs team in the second half of the season where they were relegated, and even at that the majority of his appearances were from the bench. He was sold in the summer after the were promoted so he hasn't really had time to prove his ability in the SPL, however he hasn't exactly been lighting up the Championship down south. I reckon he would work well with Morelos up front for us but my preference would be to give MOH a shot through the middle with Morelos.

07 Jan 2018 20:36:10
On the Jamie Murphy loan signing lads, how gullible do the board really believe the fans are? This loan deal is no more than a ploy to get the player in now and pay for him in the summer after the season tickets sell out again.

Now I don’t mind this approach but it is the transparency or lack off from the hierarchy that leaves a bitter taste in the mouth. If they just speak to fans and tell them the truth there would be much more respect.

Really poor show and once again taking the fans for a ride.

07 Jan 2018 21:03:27
I thought it was because Brighton didn’t trust us to pay in instalments but who knows? I’m more upset we’re letting Pena go on loan and paying half his wages. If he was leaving on loan they should have paid all his wages or he should have stayed put in my opinion

07 Jan 2018 21:17:15
Personally i think it’s a good move, on loan so no fee, be paying half his wage, what I don’t think will even amount to the half wages we getting from Pena, so with some spare money left from there gives us the chance to bring an extra player in what we badly need, I think it’s a very smart move, so if he doesn’t settle as well as others haven’t we don’t really lose and we have first refusal if he does.

07 Jan 2018 21:31:54
Poseidon I think you’ve been under water too long.
Why should the club tell the fans the ins and outs of a million pound plus investment as it’s happening. Stop reading the dross spouted by leeches trying to sell papers. They will create a multitude of different scenarios so that tomorrow’s paper sells the same as yesterday’s. The two club have came to a deal that suits both. The only time the public will or should know the details of that buisness transaction is when it’s done. Which is exactly what happened. Your belly is rumbling because you think it should have been done this way or that. But that was fed to you mate. If there was no media input and it came out that he has signed on the terms he has you would say that it was a good bit of buisness handled well. My point. The crap you read is not what’s actually going on. Don’t believe the spin ma man. It’s all tom kite!

P. s welcome to the gers Jamie Murphy.

08 Jan 2018 01:57:20
Well said Huistra2👏

08 Jan 2018 06:37:48
This is the delusion and sheeplike qualities I was getting at. Very worrying.

08 Jan 2018 07:26:02
Sheeplike? What in God’s name does that mean. Because I understand how a club in our position in this financial climate works and you can’t get your head around the fact that we can’t throw any more money away because the papers say we should makes me like a sheep. Do you mean docile and a bit fluffy or are you saying I’m an Aberdeen fan. I’m sorry if I don’t get what you mean but I do think you should start worrying less about the board and more about the way you articulate yourself (that means how ye act n that know? ) . Sheeplike. 🤷‍♂️

08 Jan 2018 08:42:59
He means you're following the story to the letter and refusing to question it, instead aimlessly "following on" and doing as you're told. Metaphorically speaking, of course.

08 Jan 2018 13:15:44
Aimlessly following on. Jesus joanie. For one we are all aimlessly following on. That’s why we get our wee thumbs going on this site. I’m just pointing out to our man Neptune that the men behind the science at ibrox are tryin there level best to improve our club. That is a fact. why wouldn’t they. It’s the naivety in some of these posts that made me bite. The folk comin on here sayin the board are sitting with their fingers up the a&#e driving our club into the ground probably couldn’t run a minoj. So I put this to you alyernawsbaws stop the greetin and start living the real world and aimlessly follow on. You might find you’ll actually enjoy it again.

08 Jan 2018 14:58:25
I'm a celtic fan mate, I'm enjoying it all. Having the time of my life, in fact.

07 Jan 2018 15:16:09
Hearing wee nacho novo has taken a heart attack in Germany . Anyone heard this?

07 Jan 2018 15:34:48
Its been confirmed in the media

07 Jan 2018 15:36:42
Yeah the wee man has been taken to hospital where he underwent immediate surgery! Get well soon wee man🙏

07 Jan 2018 18:31:32
Lets all wish wee nacho well and a fast and speedy recovery ( get well soon we fella)

07 Jan 2018 09:46:52
Hi all new to forum. Reports today from ssn that there is interest in Cole from Fleetwood. Watched the guy a couple of times and think would be a great partner for the wee bull. Can't help but worry that once again will come down to money

07 Jan 2018 10:11:49
Apparently we are tabling a bid of 1 million for Cummings

07 Jan 2018 10:45:48
I think Cummings would be a great partnership for Morelos upfront with Murphy supplying the cross balls I hope this one goes through.

07 Jan 2018 10:52:49
Cole looks a great prospect and is out of contract in the summer according to reports. Had a good game yesterday. Tried to comment yesterday during the game but my post never went on.

07 Jan 2018 10:54:12
Cummings would be a great signing👍

07 Jan 2018 11:05:02
Cummings would be a loan deal and not a permanent deal, if we can't get him on a loan deal and then bring in Jones and Docherty then we have done good business in the transfer window

07 Jan 2018 12:15:58
Cole is an unknown for me really, but relatively low risk if the wages aren’t high, although his record isn’t outstanding neither was guys like Louis Moult before they came up here. For me these types will always be hit and miss but they are good value when free as there will always be a market for them in the future down south.

07 Jan 2018 12:22:04
Would be nice to get Cummings in this month and maybe look to bring another in in the summer like Cole. Can see Morelos moving down South wether it’s Championship or bottom of the table PL teams in the summer.

07 Jan 2018 12:32:35
Cummings would be a great signing IMO. Proven goal scorer and at the money rumoured he'd be a low risk signing with potential sell on value. Only negative is his attitude but with the right management it should t be a problem.

07 Jan 2018 13:09:21
Seems a certainty that ANY of the rumoured signings commented on here will only have a chance of happening if quite a few players are off-loaded, particularly the biggest earners.

07 Jan 2018 13:10:34
Hope we don't sign Cummings I remember him wanting to get on the pitch after the cup final to wind up the rangers fan

07 Jan 2018 13:16:33
@Gman. How dare a player celebrate a cup final win 😂 you can't be serious that this is an actual reason you wouldn't want Cummings?

07 Jan 2018 13:33:02
JM
Nobody says he has not to celebrate his team winning the cup, however I saw him deliberately stand and taunt the Rangers fans after that game.
After everything that was going on around him do you think that is the way a professional football player should act.
At the end of the day the guy is a Ned and doesn’t have the class to become a Glasgow Rangers player, anyhow he has been found out in the championship for what he is a mediocre player with an overinflated ego.

07 Jan 2018 14:03:02
There's no way Rangers will get Jordan Jones. Offering Lee Hodson must of had Billy Bowie rolling about his office laughing.
Jason Cummings would offer a lot to the team though as he will score goals in Scotland and is very energetic. He is still early 20's into the bargain. Can remember him being an absaloute pest to defence lines. Good move bringing him in if it happens.

07 Jan 2018 14:07:50
Would sign cummings right away, would be good partner for morelos. what u waiting on board get yer finger out and go get him.

07 Jan 2018 14:17:13
Watched cole yesterday against leicester and never looked up to much. but only first time I've seen him, but at 22 u would think if he was anything special he would be picked up by better team or better league, seen that millwall and birmingham in for him to but that not filling me with excitement and his dad must have few contacts in the game but he is still at fleetwood. don't think its right move for us, we need someone to hit ground running that knows the league and my opinion i think cummings would be the one, as he knows how to score up here and knows the league.

07 Jan 2018 14:26:41
Honestly, it's laughable how precious some fans are 😂

The boy has pace, scores goals and will likely improve his game with experience. To say he's a ned is your opinion, I've heard the same said about Leigh Griffiths and I'd have him in my team all day. Historically Barry Ferguson was labelled a ned but that didn't stop him becoming a club legend.

07 Jan 2018 15:38:00
Rangers have played down reports linking them with Cole and cummings

07 Jan 2018 16:24:27
Ronnie glad about the boy cole but would have taken cummings in a heartbeat.

07 Jan 2018 16:42:09
Would be good signing i think right age don't forget the thumb flopped like a wet duffle coat at wolves

07 Jan 2018 16:57:08
Where did you read or hear that? RonnieR9.

07 Jan 2018 18:53:46
Daily record was reporting it earlier

07 Jan 2018 19:59:55
Living in Fleetwood and going to Highbury to watch them play regulary I certainly think Devante Cole is worth taking a risk on, he has a real eye for goal, quick and still plenty of time to improve and rumour down here is after learning of Rangers intrest he would jump at the move

07 Jan 2018 20:50:53
If his dad can guide him on getting the ball into the net I would take him in a heartbeat.

07 Jan 2018 06:23:18
Scottish Sun confirm today that Murphy has signed on loan.

07 Jan 2018 07:31:31
I think now we need a striker in because we can’t go the rest of the season with Morelos up front because he isn’t the answer. A good guy to have on the bench but that’s it. He lacks pace and can’t beat a man and his finishing a lot of the times is woeful. If we can get the 5-10 million for him from villa that a lot of the folk on here were debating about a couple of months ago then even better.

07 Jan 2018 07:45:50
Eh? You don't rate Morelos, fair enough but you think he's worth £5-£10m but only a squad player, subby? Morelos is our best striker, our top scorer, in his first season, in a new country. He's played up on his own for large parts of the season without a recognized number 10 behind him. He's been one of the few successful summer signs.
Who do you think we should replace him with Rick?

07 Jan 2018 07:49:41
He is the top goal scorer in the league and an excellent young talent but you say he’s rubbish but you want 10million for him?

07 Jan 2018 08:42:06
He's still just a young boy and you need to remember he has played half a season in Finland before he came to us. Add that to the fact he's up front on his own almost all of the time, he's bound to be tired at times and go off the boil! Expect more to come from him

07 Jan 2018 08:53:33
How can you possibly say you don’t rate the guy but want 5-10 mill for him? He’s played up top himself most of the season he doesn’t give defenders a minutes peace, the laddie can finish. Granted he had a poor day in front of goal against Celtic but I would be more concerned if he wasn’t getting any chances, I agree that we need another striker but to play WITH him not in place of him. Desperately need a creative midfielder.

07 Jan 2018 08:56:25
Great bit if business, relies on Murphy proving he is good enough to wear the badge before we buy him like it should be. Regarding us being skint and relying on director loans, weren’t a lot of people complaining that King hasn’t invested 30mill Now that he providing this through loans all of a sudden the focus of the media is that we are skint? Was always the plan from king, invest until we are back playing consistently in Europe and then we will be self funded. Am quite happy how the board are running things financially.

07 Jan 2018 09:49:19
Full of negativity Rick. Cheer up mate it’s not that bad 😂

07 Jan 2018 10:28:59
I think yous were lost with my sarcasm. Of course I don’t think he’s worth that and was ridiculed at the time for saying he’s not even worth £2m when yous were all debating whether we should sell him or not if we get an offer between £5m-£10m from Aston Villa who aparantly were interested at the time which I doubt and a few even said nothing less than £8m would be acceptable! Comical.

07 Jan 2018 10:44:22
Rick so he is a bench player, our bench players are now worth £5-10 mill so does that mean our other first team regulars will be worth £30-40 mill you could buy the whole team for under £10 mill but your judgement of Morelos is strange he is our top scorer the leagues top scorer he has played the loan striker Roll his holding up of the ball to allow other players forward is great work rate great I think with someone up there with him you will see just how good he can become

07 Jan 2018 12:22:26
For me Morelos is proving to be Superb value for £1M, one of only a handful of successful signings that we’ve made in the last 6 years. He will only improve in the years to come and while he may never be a £10M striker he will be great in our league and if we can get him better service from Murphy etc. then he may hit 30 goals this season. I do agree with Rick W that we need a striker in this window as well, we shouldn’t be going into games vs the bottom 6 without 2 up top!

07 Jan 2018 12:28:18
Morelos is still a work in progress, right now we need a more experienced striker. Morelos had a poor game against Celtic and msde some basic errors, we need someone who csn do it in the bigger games!

07 Jan 2018 14:10:15
Well said blueberry. Worth 5-10 million but he should be on bench, some people talk some u know what. Get a grip.

07 Jan 2018 14:13:03
10 million his middle name must be dembelle

08 Jan 2018 00:33:28
The best natural and explosive finisher at the club is the boy Dodoo. Disappointed does not appear to be on plane for Florida.

07 Jan 2018 01:39:12
Official - Jamie Murphy on loan until he end of the season, where the deal will be come permanent for 1m.

I think this is a good move from the board, Brighton wanted the 1.4m upfront after we agreed the 1m and the 400k in the following seasons, so the board have renegotiated and taken him on loan until the summer and pay the 1m we agreed originally. This is what Rangers boards of old should have been doing and maybe we wouldn't be in the position we are in just now.

07 Jan 2018 04:01:10
Another kop out.

07 Jan 2018 06:24:20
I don’t think it’s a kop out who ever said it was a 3 year deal in the first place not rangers or Brighton it was only the rags it looks like a good bit of business to me well done Rangers and welcome to the famous Glasgow Rangers Jamie this boy will make a big difference to the team but we need a couple more in.

07 Jan 2018 07:40:19
it is a little embarrassing that clubs won't trust us for a while, but with what happened and everything that followed you can't complain. We are still being funded every year with director loans after all.

But a loan deal is good for both parties and we are signing him at the end of his loan.

07 Jan 2018 08:47:03
It says in the Rangers statement it was Brighton who would prefer it to be a loan but it probably suits our board aswell as they will be banking on the season ticket money in the summer and can obviously afford the expense then rather than now

07 Jan 2018 10:17:17
Surely we can now go and get Greg Doherty from Hamilton now with the money we haven't used in the Murphy deal. As most on here say you don't win championship with money laying in the bank.

07 Jan 2018 10:30:09
BearMode . I like your thinking, but you do know that clubs pay a fee to get players on loan don’t you!? They don’t hand them over for free, so we would have paid something to Brighton just now for Murphy then the 1m as you say in the summer, that’ll be close to if not all the 1.4m Brighton wanted. So for me it’s not really that good a deal.

It’ll more likly be a case of we really don’t have the money to pay them in full unfortunately so the board will use the new season ticket money to complete the deal come the summer.

07 Jan 2018 11:22:04
Wool well and truly pulled over your eyes.

£2mil total was getting touted now it's a loan til the summer.

My money's on rangers "deciding against" signing him permanently.

Ha ha.

08 Jan 2018 00:23:52
Kop out? Get a grip mate

07 Jan 2018 00:54:01
So murphy is signed up on loan with garuntee we can sign him in the summer as long as we can get the funds together

08 Jan 2018 00:25:38
So would you rather we payed the money and got into more debt or wait 6months and see if he settles at the club then pay it yeah your option of paying upfront seem better not

06 Jan 2018 23:16:32
Murphy deal done a lot of humble pie to be eating well done the board!

07 Jan 2018 00:14:36
Too many questions greeting faces not enough supporters on here mate

07 Jan 2018 00:37:29
Good signing but we need another 4 5 players with same quality as murphy
To make the diffrence

07 Jan 2018 01:08:58
My question is. As we have said we want to sign him now and we have a set price for the summer. what benefit is it to Brighton to wait until the summer for the sale to go through.

07 Jan 2018 01:28:00
Joined on Loan with option to buy Murphy in the summer if we can find the money or should I say loans, the board will do what they always do use the fans season ticket money to finally get the farce over the line, anyway Welcome Home Murphy! just hope your given time to get totally match fit and show what you can do before you get the boo's especially at Ibrox if you struggle to find your feet straight away, Hopefully that's you a Ger for the rest of your Career! NSE

08 Jan 2018 00:32:50
Alex isn’t that what season ticket money is for anyway? To reinvest in the team?
