I'm like all my fellow bears gutted about the last result.

However I'm not going to overreact and slate the team for a poor performance as overall I'm delighted with the progress of our team since SG became manager.

Under SG we have played 34 games and only lost 5. We are top goal scorer in the league and have the top scorer and assist players in the league.
We have played 13 games in Europe only losing once.

2nd in league with a game n hand and one win against the dims away from top of the league overall

All of this has been achieved with a net spend of under 8 million and one transfer window.

We are a new team with some young inexperienced players and have been really unlucky with regards to key attack minded players ie Murphy Dorrens BB and Kent and last night add Artfield to that list.

I fully believe that if SG can add a couple of quality attack minded players one striker and one att/ mid and cover for one or both full backs to this squad in Jan then we will have a team capable pushing on and winning this league.

Thank god for that, somebody with some common sense and perspective.

Some of the stuff I’ve been reading on social media is a disgrace.

Literally everybody getting it because of last night, Tav never a Captain, Morelos should be ‘sacked’, Mark Allen ‘needs to sign winners not kids’.

Absolutely pathetic, panic merchant stuff.

Onto the next game fs.

06 Dec 2018 16:25:39
Well said Stewart's, said similar in my post, if we signed messi tomorrow, we would still get people slaughtering him.

06 Dec 2018 16:50:11
Agreed, I’ll never understand how some supporters just expect us to stroll every game after the state we’ve been in for the past few years. It won’t happen overnight.

06 Dec 2018 16:51:35
I like any other blue nose is bitterly disappointed about last night! Gutted even about how we played and in hindsight how the game at Fir Park panned out.
However. great post Stewarty! Good sensible post with excellent points.

Bear Mode, only one thing irks me and it is the Tav is not captain material. Fantastic player, great delivery, loves the club and has been fantastic for us for a number of years but he shouldn’t be captain.
Last night a real captain would have driven that team to victory, he would have had stern words with Morelos booted his arse and demanded he didn’t get sent off or even have a word with the gaffer and told him to take him off! Tav just doesn’t do enough as a captain for me!
In my opinion a captain should be in the middle of the park bossing it, setting the tone the tempo and connecting the defence to the midfield and driving the midfield going forward. Either that or the GK who can see the whole picture! If it was my choice my captain would be Ryan Jack or Allan McGregor.

06 Dec 2018 17:33:11
Superb comments stewartyblue, summed the situation perfectly. Although it was a rank performance last night, these things happen, and overall we are vastly improved under SG.

06 Dec 2018 20:15:44
I agree we are a new team and to be honest we are ahead on we're we all thought we would be. The point is though Morelos is a good forward but 3 reds before xmas when we have no real back up. I think his style and temperament is suited else where. I have said it before, the next window will be interesting. With European football then players have been in the bigger shop window. Wait and see As for loan players, job done move them on.

06 Dec 2018 20:21:48
I've been going to ibrox for years 87shenderson. Whether you think tav is captain material or not doesn't for one minute mean that the rest of our players can't be self captains and drive themselves on, as they're Glasgow rangers players! We should have eleven captains when our starting 11, cross that white line, so i personally don't wear that as an excuse!

06 Dec 2018 20:54:11
Good posts guys. I actually think being captain is a burden for Tav as he is not a natural leader, advisor or motivator on the pitch. Of last nights side believe only Jack and potentially McCauley/ Goldson are potential captaincy material. In the short term believe SG should create a number of active captains with responsibility to provide leadership and convey instructions on the pitch. We lack onfield leadership and until such times as we have a natural single leader on the Park I believe this is the way to go. In other industries this is normal practice during periods of turbulence and significant change. Just my thoughts.

06 Dec 2018 22:11:52
Sorry Coop but for me a captain is massive! I agree we need 11 players pulling together but if one steps out of line a strong personality should be there to put things straight!

Greig, Butcher, Gough, Amo, Ferguson, Davis, Jig. you think any of these boys would tolerate Morelos acting like he did?!
For the record I really like Tavernier, he’s a fantastic asset to our club, I just struggle to see how he can influence a game, take it by the scruff of the neck and pull us out a hole!

06 Dec 2018 22:40:59
87 you said captain should be in middle of the park then went for jack or greegs greegs is a keeper unless you want him to start playing dm.

07 Dec 2018 05:39:25
Read my post Gannet instead of trying to trip me up!

I said the captain should be in the middle of the park (here Jack is) or the GK which I’m well aware McGregor plays!

07 Dec 2018 05:49:44
Its hard to criticise any individual as they were mostly all poor.

But the thing that got me was not the level of performance, it was the lack of determination, fight and passion.

People now wanting the ball, flat movement, not showing for throw ins, two folk jumping to challenge for the same ball over and over.

You expect at least a clear determination when you go to Ibrox on a cold midweek night.

07 Dec 2018 11:51:33
Big picture, things have been so much better than we've expected especially when it comes to Europe.

The Aberdeen game was awful, we had absolutely no creativity or cutting edge but that's just one game and I have full trust in our management to fix things whether that's with a transfer or two in January, a change of shape, a change of personnel within our squad or simply just kicking some arses for such a poor performance.

I have no doubts we'll come out and make a point against Dundee at the weekend.

07 Dec 2018 14:11:06
I'm delighted overall how we have done this season after 1 window the team have been a team for the majority of the season gerrard still cutting his teeth in management it's got the feel of wer witnessing someone who's going to go on to win big things in management he's done brilliantly . Now a few points I'd like to make is that on Wednesday I never seen the game live because I was working but with them down to 10 men for me we should of gone 4-4-2 straight away get the ball wide stretch Aberdeen tire them then if we still not in the game go 3 2 5 and hoof it in the box with a McCauley up top flicking it on go old style it's old fashioned it's not pretty but it works we show teams like Aberdeen and hibs too much respect get out and play like it's an old firm I personally don't mind a player getting sent off for a challenge like Kevin Thomson or something it shows heart sets the tone get at them make sure if shinnie gets a touch in the middle of the park he can't lift his head and ping a 30 40 yard pass get him hit take the booking . Wer no Barcelona wer rangers I hope we sign Davis cooper and Dallas from Leeds jones from Kilmarnock and I'd take moult from Preston as well go out spend another 10 million on these guys then we would have a squad capable of competing also the guy power from Kilmarnock would be a shout but we have plenty options I'm just going by his form the now perfect midfielder for the big games he would take a booking or two but it would be worth it lol.

07 Dec 2018 17:26:09
For the final time, MOULT IS HOPELESS!

08 Dec 2018 16:28:01
The original post was awesome!

05 Dec 2018 22:42:25
Mcinnes schooled us again. Midfield need replacing, created nothing. Tav useless, koulibaly ejaria howling, mcauley how he gets a game before katic god knows. All we done was play from side to side. Celtic drawing is the only positive. Gutted👍.

06 Dec 2018 05:35:02
Gutted too mate however McAuley has been decent, everyone a let down last night, hopefully a reality check for everyone. I don’t think we are far away in terms of squad. A no. 10 is a must, an alternative to Morelos would be a priority also.

06 Dec 2018 07:12:20
Couldnt agree more coldo. I've been banging on about no dig for ages. We can all see this and its frustrating to watch. The team needs a strong leader on the pitch. Aberdeens tactic was to sit back and frustrate. It worked a treat because we can't break a system like that down. Morelos. nuff said🇬🇧😕.

06 Dec 2018 07:40:21
spot on coldo

the folk on here who will not hear a bad word said against any player are delusional

weve played well recently but last night was poor and as much as it pains me to say it mcinnes has worked us out

i’m but his biggest fan and he’s not a natural
LB but i’ve no idea what halliday did to be dropped for flannigan - he’s a natural left footer and was immense at tynecastle yet back 4 gets changed again

i get rotation with heavy schedule but not back 4

as for ejaria and coulibaly sorry guys that ain’t good enough -

our indiscipline is bonkers but we cld have played till tues and not scored vs 10men

sorry guys just way i see it.

06 Dec 2018 08:45:18
I think McAuley has been solid so far, but same as other christ knows what Big Katic has done to be totally dropped out the squad.
Screaming out for a creative midfielder, Doranns coukd have been the answer? No doubt Davis will get a new opportunity at Southampton, but is he the answer? Certainly better than what we've got.

06 Dec 2018 09:01:11
i keep saying people asking for creative midfielders which i agree we do need if we keep trying to work the ball in the box. but when teams play like aberdeen so defensively we need to be hitting shots from distance, i haven't seen a rangers player score a good screamer of a goal outside the box since halliday in the championship. i just don't get why we don't try and shoot from distance when teams fortify and play rough.

06 Dec 2018 09:05:13
Harhun I noticed Davis was played from the start last night against spurs.

I really don’t see how SG can say he has better options at left back than Wallace (unless Barisic is fit) too me this has been a pre made up statement about him.

I said it before playing a right footed player at left back loses balance from the team as they always have to cut inside.

06 Dec 2018 09:18:58
Guys i know this will get shot down by many but ask yourself this. Who picks the team and sets out the formation? There is the main problem. Stevie G will go on to be a very good manager but his inexperience is going to cost us games. I sometimes wonder just what Gary Mac does to help him out.

06 Dec 2018 11:54:34
Fb1 Wallace is two yards slow, certainly not even close to match fit, saw him against killie on Monday really struggled.

Also I feel we need to change our midfield for rest of December till window opens.
I'd like to see jack, Arfield and mccrorie, never seen us so bullied as last night. Ejaria not the answer and can't see what so many fans see in coulibally.
I will always support Morelos, despite his stupidity as when on the park brings so much to the team, 17 goals six assists. It also intrigues me he went a full season in Finland with no bookings, in fact he played many games without conceding a free kick apart from being offside.

We need to ride the storm, as we are better and clearly in the mix.
I hope killie still top on Saturday
S.

06 Dec 2018 12:04:56
Beatsgowl correct, when teams are camped in you need someone to take a shot. I saw Charlie Adam saying he would love to come back. He could sit in the hole and pong balls about all day no problem and is top drawer shooting from distance. I've never been his biggest fan but he's better than the dross we saw last night.

06 Dec 2018 13:03:23
Never knew Davis started last night, i would imagine that's one we will not get in now in Jan.

06 Dec 2018 15:20:14
Time for Gers to cash in on morelos, he let's the team down time after time, how many chances Is Gerrard going to give him.

06 Dec 2018 15:28:42
Sorry but I hardly think McInnes ‘schooled’ us. The Sheep have been as bad as us, if not worst when we’ve played them but have somehow came away with 2 wins and a draw.

06 Dec 2018 16:13:45
Spot on UJ. You take your chance when it comes and park the bus. No great tactical nous required. The only time it backfires is when you lose goals a la Motherwell. Aberdeen are a shocking side. We have better players throughout the team. Simply a bad day at the office.

06 Dec 2018 16:28:51
What a lot of single fish coldo. One bad result with all of our central att/ mid out injuried or suspended and your wanting the mid replaced. What will make you happy play 50 win 50 one goal in each game from all of our attackers in each game.
It's football we are going to lose some games we can't win every match. Get a f##### grip. That mob had one shot on goal and scored from it and even that never came from open play. Their keeper had at least 3 brill saves unreal the reaction of some of our fans is shocking. Just have a wee think on where we where this time last year.

06 Dec 2018 20:10:45
Mcinnes has had our card the last two games, the last two games we couldn't lay a glove on them. that's a fact, not a fluke. We had no answer last night or the semi👍. Ejaria and koulibaly either passed it from side to side or lost it so yes better players are required👍. It would look a lot worse if we hadn't fluked it against hearts.

06 Dec 2018 20:30:39
Get a grip coldo! Delboy mcinnes schooled nobody! We as a team were poor and the sheep were terrible also! It was our own doing, that we never beat the sheep, nothing at all great that mcinnes did! He would never have made a glasgow rangers manager, never in a month of blue sundays!

So glad he ain't our manager and said as much when we were trying to get him! My big money is on steven gerrard schooling (as you put it) him, within another couple of transfer windows! Stevie G has only had ONE transfer window and is in the infancy process of rebuilding us! You're brilliant, sides splitting and all that ie. derek mcinnes schooled us, NOT!
The guy is a choker and bottler, simple as that!

06 Dec 2018 21:29:38
Coldco we totally dominated hearts and never looked like losing. Mcgregor had one save in 90 minutes, even with ten men we dominated the game.

07 Dec 2018 02:54:32
We had 70% possession against a ten man aberdeen and never looked like scoring at any point jboy!, we got a lucky goal at hearts otherwise it would have been more points dropped. We had a chance to stay top of the league and prove we had the know how to stay there and we bottled it. We couldn't stay top for one game! Forgive me for being a bit pi$$ed off but that's twice we have played with no heart against them and they have laughed at us, yet some on here are happy to just pass it off as bad luck or a fluke! Not good enough! If we want to win titles we need to seriously improve. If celtic had won it would have been 10x worse👍.

07 Dec 2018 21:18:09
Stewartyblue,

1 bad result? We have had more than 1 bad result this season. The sheep have beat us twice, Livingston beat us and their keeper didn’t have a save to make and the mhanky mob absolutely ripped us apart. In all these games our midfield was poor. Ejaria has been really poor in the big premier league matches this season, Coulibally has been woeful and Jack contributes nothing going forward. Our midfield are miles behind theirs and realistically how many of our midfield would get in their starting line up?

08 Dec 2018 16:29:00
