Been reading reports down south that talks have started with Fulham for Kevin McDonald. Maybe years of rumours will finally cone true with him, Davis and Defoe all at ibrox. If so I'd like to see coulibaly sent back to angers but only my opinion.

He’s been rubbish lately but I believe he’s had a family bereavement to deal with.
He looked the part when he arrived and I’m sure we can get that form back.

Coulibally hasn't been the same since the bereavement maybe just needs a little time to get his head strait but was one of our best players at start of season.

A few on here don t think morelos will be sold - I beg to differ, no way is Defoe coming to rangers to sit in the bench, he could do that at Bournemouth. No way morelos will be left to rot on bench - way too big an asset. I would wager he is already sold and money will be used to strengthen the whole squad.

Think Morelos has the legs and hold up play to be the perfect foil for Defoe if Gerrard decides to go with the two of them. Could end up a successful partnership.

He will definitely go at some point but I would imagine we wouldn’t want to build up his value first.
He’s already worth more than ten times what we paid but with another 6 months and potentially 30 odd goals he will be worth a lot more.
Should be keeping him until at least the end of the season.

For me they both have to play, no way either of them are benched, for me Morelos stays, so 2 up top, then the headache of picking midfielders, davis and airfield first on team sheet. give me your preferred formation and starting 11.

Defoe is a more direct target man and Morelos flits about like a panther/ predator - I think the two of them will be great together and going by the respect and applauds Defoe is receiving from all down south he will be the perfect mentor for Morelos.
I am so happy to see Jones and Kamara come to us - Jones will be much better with good players around him and Kamara already looks the part - but he will have to give up his Sky Reporting job?

I don't think he will be sold, Gerrard has stated he wants 3 in every position so the players compete for their places. that's 3 strikers now. 2 right backs, 4 centre halfs (5 if you include mccrorrie) 3 left wingers, 2 right wingers, 2 left backs ( if you include halliday) and i don't even want to try and count midfielders off the top of my head. i'm sure we have the americans that got offered contracts but haven't heard they signed yet. one of them is a right back.

Definition of a target man is a tall striker you can play long balls to with view of winning majority of headers.
Look at it this way was mccoist a target man? no he was a penalty box poacher and defoe is in this mould however hateley was the definition of a target man whom mccoist fed off.

SG has only played 4-3-3, hence my comment on one of them missing out . Only changes to 2 up top when we are chasing the game - as I said no chance either will be sitting in the bench . I predict he will be sold last couple of days of the window and we will bring in another forward who will be happy being a squad player. Morelos value never been so high and SG playing a blinder talking him up and subsequently adding value.

Maradona messi nor cr7 are target men and all played in proper footballing teams. Now hateley, dzeko, carroll and crouch are proper target men. not the greatest scoring records but their for a reason. To be targeted with long balls which they win for the small guy to score with.
Not that hard to understand and even the other mob appear to be desperate for a target man in the mould of hartson or sutton.

Rabc that’s got right under your skin eh 😆 even though I agree that Defoe is not a target man I think you’re wrong about target men Morelos for example is a target man he wins the ball holds it up brings others in to play and also scores goals he’s only 5,9 and players like drogba and ibrahimovic big target men have been prolific goal scores at the highest level, I get what you’re saying but the games moved on very few teams play with 2 strikers and even less play with a big target man and a poacher. McCoist and Hateley was 30 odd year ago 😆.

Is anyone else underwhelmed by the potential signing of Jordan Jones? He's played over 100 games and only has something like 9 goals and 22 assists. I feel he'd be like another MOH. Would much rather give the chance to Middleton whose almost scored as many goals and provided assists as Jones has and he's only played a handful of games for us. It also makes me think that we wouldn't be going for Kent permanently. We've also got Murphy to come back as well.
Kamara on the other hand would be a cracking free signing. We need a box to box midfielder like him.

Give the kid a chance (Jones) remember a few teams in the English championship wanted him, Aston Villa, Leeds United, and some other team I read, but he turned them down to sign for Rangers, he plays for NI but he’s a born and breed English man, so to pick Rangers over those other teams gives him a few browny points in my book.

Jones will probably go on loan next season decent free signing if it doesn’t work out in a year or 2 we move him on for a modest fee it’s the modern football way.

Both Docherty and Hardie will remain on loan for remainder of season. SG delighted with game time, goals and assists of Docherty and wants him to play 40 plus games on loan and return in the summer. SG impressed by recent game time and goals scored by Hardie after returning from injury. Hardie will continue to be monitored and if continues progress of last month will return to Ibrox and be offered new contact at end of season.

All players are different I very much doubt Solankes fee will have ANY impact on how much Alfredo eventually leaves for.
Becoming a capped and hopefully a regular for Colombia will impact his value, as will Europa league goals, duration of current contract, his agent, interested party, his goal ratio and age.
If it’s a West Brom or Aston Villa who are interested then I’d guess the bids to be around the £10-12m mark.
If it’s Wolves, Southampton or Everton then £15m plus.
I really don’t think he will be sold in this window but more than likely will in the summer imo.

Been reported between £60k and £100k even seen £120k somewhere. The fact we have agreed a deal and our top earners are at the £20k mark i'd guesstimate that’s what he’s on at us £20k with appearance, win and goal bonuses.

Stewart Robertson suggested we are bringing in 3 players in the January window. Davis clearly is one, the other two remain up to the Gaffer. Lot of people suggesting Jones. I want to see a striker and perhaps looking to defence ahead of the summer for Worrall when he leaves and depending on McAulay's position. That said, we have Katic, and Dorrans, Murphy, Docherty to return. Holt, Dodoo, Pena, Alnwick, Herrera, Wallace hopefully out. We may be able to cash in on Fods who will only play if AM Gers injured and surely won't want to be a backup. Lots of room for speculation bit how good is the position compared to the last couple of years eh? Happy new year to you all.

Yes they are pre contacts, heard that we were going to try and arrange a compensation package with Kilmarnock so Jones is available straight away, although Steve Clark has said he would rather lose him in summer for nothing than let him leave in January for cash.

My mate is the financial accountant for Killie. He says Jones is definitely staying with them until the summer. The owners have just sold QTS for close to £100m, they don’t need the money and are happy to keep him for remainder of season and let him walk in summer.

Dunfermline - £2m? Are you mental? For a young Scottish guy, who just coasted an old firm game, can only get better and can cover 3 positions? We need home grown players like him, a brief glance at the history of successful Rangers teams tells you that. I would be wanting funny money before thinking about shifting him. If the mhankies are wanting £20m plus for Tierney, why would we take £2m for McRorie? Always selling ourselves short with our Scottish players, look how much Adam and McCormack eventually went for over the years, we let both go for under £1m.

Fair enough, maybe I am selling him a little short however for me I wasn’t even sure he would have a future at the club until watching him in the last old firm game. I think we could replace McCrorie with a better player for that money. However I do get that he has a long term contract so maybe could demand a bigger fee. i'd rather see him go out on loan and gain some experience.

McCrorie is a future captain of club and country and is going nowhere. He loves the club and was excellent against Celtic on Saturday. Expect him to play around 20 games in second half of season.

I would really like to see him make a name for himself. I love his all action style, snaps into challenges comes out unscathed most of the time, has a turn of pace, tall and strong, he likes a pass and to be fair all of that would surely improve over a couple more seasons.

Heard a couple of rumours tonight regarding pre contracts we are looking to deal with 2 current SPFL players.
The 1st which I believe is almost agreed and soon to be announced is Jordan Jones from Kilmarnock.
The other is boy Kamara from Dundee, don't know much about him tbh just passing on what's doing the rounds guys.

That’s a good shout mate, big Rangers fan and deadly in the box. With Defoe here now he could shadow him and be his long term replacement. Could even loan him out to an SPFL team so he can score some against our opponents but be ineligible against us and would give us a chance to see if he can cut it at this level.

Right I don't think we're getting Lallana but a fit Lallana is a better midfielder than Halliday. Ni one doubts Hallidays commitment to the Gers but he is limited as a player.
