Warbs said Forrester close to signing long term deal.

fellow bears good news warburton has promised he's going to bring in defender for the spl next season and i'm glad because our defence has been weak in that central area experience would be great in there to help danny wilson. and as for ryan gauld who agrees do we really need him let's be hoenst we have holt and halliday who get forward? then again only my opinion pretty sure MW will decide tht himself but we need a defencive midfielder big time somebody to sit back and break up play we have missed it all season. that crack pot robbie neilson sayin rangers need 24 million to challenge celtic who agrees? its debatable but money doesn't allways garuntee u success look it celtic in the champions league speaks for itself 'malmo' sharp reminder. again MW knows a player when he sees one he's found gems since he was at brentford and now us so i'd be happy for him continuin doing so!

Robbie nelson talks through a hole in his ####. lol
TBH i would always go for the desire and will to win in players over value anyday.
I think warbs is this type of manager to see this, i don't disregard a players value and if the right one is there and he's worth it then we should invest.

i myself would love to see us developing our own players. ie. murdoch, makay, thompson, hardie, walsh. etc also our u20's have some decent players in the making.

if there is a possibility to keep/ buy dominic ball that would be great not sure if a deal would be in place for king?, also with windass and crooks coming the future is looking great and i feel confident for the return the the spl.

Personally I think neilson has a point, we do need to spend some cash and bring in some higher calibre players- even MW has said as much. Where I think neilson is wrong is in his figures, it's not about hom much we spend but how wisely we spend it. Although I do think at some point we are going to have to spend close to a million on a few players- assuming DK will keep his promises about investment in playing squad.

Let's congratulate the players on a job done (but be honest it's not been plain sailing) and remember that most of our team has just had its first experience of winning anything. With the right additions, some patience and time hopefully more will follow.

I don't understand how Neilson is a " crackpot " seems a very good young manager to me, and a former bluenose in case you didn't know? You do know how the newspapers work don't you? The guy was asked a question and gave an off the cuff answer, how that makes him a crackpot says more about you than him mate
Having won the championship by a distance, with Rangers and bibs in it he then took hearts to 3rd in the premier, not too bad eh?
Anyway Rangers do need to invest, and I think they will, WW and
mcParland ain't here for nothing, we will sign some youngsters, and hopefully a spine of experience and hardness, and a lethal, hopefully tall striker.

Anyone hear any rumours about any decent centre halfs coming in.

04 Apr 2016 08:45:28
Lee McCulloch, I hear.

04 Apr 2016 10:38:11
We are in serious need of a couple of experienced CB's!

04 Apr 2016 11:42:05
Would Steven Taylor, Newcastle, be an option for Centre Back?

04 Apr 2016 13:33:13
Wage demands on Taylor would be too big I'd imagine.

04 Apr 2016 14:32:48
I think we missed a trick with john souttar. More an option long term than short term. Lost confidence at then end with utd but when they were playing well he had lots of confidence and looked composed. Seems to have started and settled well at hearts.

04 Apr 2016 17:11:45
A return for Kyle Bartley could be an option. Still young at 24 and only one year left on his current deal, got some premiership experience but lost his way a little at Swansea. Don't imagine his wage demands would be too high and brought through Arsenals academy so would fit Warbs criteria.

04 Apr 2016 22:06:04
I would love us to sign watford centre half craig cathcart although I really do think its highly unlikely.

05 Apr 2016 13:37:24
Tommy Smith from Ipswich is out of contract in the summer and is only 26.

05 Apr 2016 15:11:01
Bartley is a very good shout plus be fun to see him finish the job on Brown

05 Apr 2016 17:54:44
I would like to sign a goalkeeper.

06 Apr 2016 13:49:52
Get greegs back home now.

03 Apr 2016 20:47:35
Like a good few bears on here I've also heard we're in advanced negotiations with sporting lisbon about signing midfielder ryan gauld on a season long loan deal. he's a very good young player and I would hope this to be true and we do sign him, I know warburton is very friendly with the people at sporting, the 2 way friendship was built when several years ago warbs studied the way they ran their club from their youth ranks all the way through to their first team, its cracking we're now able to build very good relationships with several clubs which of course is down to mark warburton.

04 Apr 2016 08:28:43
We need strength at the back not another tika taka player.

04 Apr 2016 09:57:00
Stuzo

Totally agree certainly after the last three games or a DM to protect the back four.

04 Apr 2016 08:54:27
I agree with you stuzo, I'm only passing on what I've heard like many other bears have heard regarding young gauld, do you have any centre half in mind that you think we should try and sign stuzo?

04 Apr 2016 14:32:56
Hey warbs man and copeland I have been scouring the lower leagues of the English league and noticed the big no 5 from Barnsley the other day, someone along those lines, I think crooks will do a good job sitting just in front, bring Murdoch back and we are sorted.

04 Apr 2016 14:43:28
I think warb15 and stuzo are both right here. Gauld would be a positive move, never looked in any trouble playing in SPL. We know the defensive side of our game is poor, but if the gauld rumour is true then that proves we are at least making moves for better reinforcements early and not waiting to see "who becomes available in the summer". I'm sure cb's have already been identified.

04 Apr 2016 17:18:11
Sporting Lisbon are looking to send the boy out on loan next year so you never know.

Comments about buying defenders in response to this rumour are a bit strange. Getting Ryan Gauld on loan doesn't mean we can't get defenders, we can do both.

05 Apr 2016 06:01:06
Hey all, Just so you are aware, Gauld has been played sitting deep in a 4-2-3-1 set up for Sporting- B for the past 20 or so games. It was mentioned in an interview with him around the time of Scotland U-21 game vs France.

04 Apr 2016 15:50:28
Ryan Gauld is a Rolls Royce compared to Allan a Dacia Duster quality wise therefore he would be a fantastic signing exactly what we need to compete in SPFL and Europa if we can get breaks and beat celtic

The best thing to happen recently has been our defence being exposed as we were being far too cocky about facing celtic.

Ball must be brought in as a 4 man defence playing as it is will lose 2/ 3 goals against celtic.

Regarding next season we have 4 months now to source a real stopper type CB like Terry Butcher or Paul Elliot type that wins balls and runs a defence.

Considering where we were the fact we are even talking about possible Gauld signing and some EPL top stars on loan on top of a very good team of players we already have is amazing.

KT.
