So it was Simon Jordan (Crystal Palace Chairman) that put some money up for us to sign Kent.
He is a shareholder though so no wrong doing as such.

We are set to boost coffers with additional £10m due to qualification for Europa League.
We have agreed down payment of £2m and £4.5m to be paid in next 3 windows with £1m performance related bonuses due.
No Simon Jordan loan just an affordable well structured deal that I advised might happen on here ages ago.

loans aren't a great way run the club. Do you not remember last season, the clubs financial results were published and we'd made a little money. A few days later we get a loan from close brothers.

03 Sep 2019 18:40:14
Close brothers is not a loan it's an overdraft facility. The yearly figures are not out so anyone stating that we have chosen to use this facility must have inside knowledge.

03 Sep 2019 19:21:02
it was half yearly results. Your right it is an overdraft facility not a loan. and the club have said the overdraft would be used for various projects.

03 Sep 2019 20:21:33
He is not the chairman of Crystal Palace he used to be but not now.

03 Sep 2019 20:31:53
gannet is he funding us.

03 Sep 2019 20:32:44
Stewartblue,

please explain how close brother have given you an overdraft, because it looks like it is secured against equity and you pay interest on it.

looks like a loan, sounds like a loan, structured like a loan. but you say it is an overdraft.

if its an overdraft then why is there a deadline to repay it (with interest i might add)?

03 Sep 2019 23:08:52
Google it can't be bothered explaining its it's a line of credit. I. e an overdraft.

03 Sep 2019 23:49:31
Kaney not saying you are wrong I don't know if it's a loan or overdraft. But you pay interest on an overdraft every month if you are into it as well. The only real difference is with a loan a lump sum arrives in your bank whereas an overdraft allows you to go into the negative (basically spend the banks money) as and when you please. Being a business account there could also be a set fee for the privilege of having the overdraft which could look like interest payments. I do remember a story a while back about an overdraft and another about a loan both from close brothers so it's possible both are true. It doesn't mean rangers are skint though as the purpose if I remember right was to improve our credit rating with the banks going forward. People do this all the time as do companies. It's prudent to have options if anything unforeseeable were to happen.

Kaney please explain to us why you a Celtic fan know more about our club than us rangers fans?

04 Sep 2019 10:52:22
its a secured overdraft facility. not uncommon. non issue really.
as for the ex chairman of Palace paying for Kent. are you sure it wasn't David Murray again.

04 Sep 2019 13:32:17
Close brothers are used by many businesses. A large percentage of insurance premiums are paid through finance providers like close brothers, it is not a sign of trouble just an intermediary in the process.

I heard it was Arlene Fraser, with money meant for the DUP, if they backed Brexit, that rubbed the SNP’s nose in it and sold Scotland to Wales as part of the deal to keep Trump in charge of America for the next 20 years as long as Harry gets the throne next. WHO CARES! WHO KNOWS? No one on here, that’s for sure. Especially some moon howling Celtic fan like @kaney who seem to think they know everything financial about The Famous but know absolutely hee haw about their own clubs dealings 🧐
Kent’s here for #55, that’s all we need to know.
🔴⚪️🔵.

I don’t see what the problem with this is. It’s to provide working capital for the business and literally every business uses it in one way or another through overdraft, invoice factoring or loans.

I work in finance and using this (if used properly) is the correct thing to do.

Simon jordan slated scottish football for years no chance he's put up money for kent. N it was on ssn that the kent deal was 6.5 million upfront then 1 million in addons so i dunno where your getting your info for the structure of the deal.

04 Sep 2019 17:39:04
Simon jordan. Heard it all now.

04 Sep 2019 22:28:04
@brogie mark allen said the deal was structured 2m upfront and rest pays in several instalments and also thanked Liverpool for helping get the deal done.

06 Sep 2019 12:42:35
Great to see the Kerrydale Accountancy Firm PLC have infiltrated the page again lol.

03 Sep 2019 00:05:44
Thank God, Kent's official now, not good for the nerves this deadline day, delighted Ger here.

06 Sep 2019 20:08:56
Kent is the player Seperate Entity players don't like running at them. Excellent stuff.
