just heard some info regarding the boardroom stuff Jim McColl is behind today's news. Not sure of exact amounts but he has acquired shares and has 30-40% backing from investors.

Believable53 Unbelievable79

I saw the same info came from the RST. I was getting worried with all the boardroom carry-on again, but this could be good news if Mr McColl is involved.

Agree6 Disagree3

Jim McCall is a tv presenter on the beach grove garden BBC2. The shares must be very cheap.

Agree1 Disagree1

Yeah, the massive 'rangers man' Jim McColl who had to be part of a 'consortium' to raise 5% of his own bank balance (£5m). Bojjocks. Just the guy we need. ,

Agree0 Disagree0

He has 29% backing. Not enough to gain control from green, but can make a noise. Paul Murray fails the fit and proper person regulations. As he should because he was one of the board that led the club into massive bank debt and EBTs that sank it. Fans should not have any those board members back including King.

Agree0 Disagree2

So his opponents have 60%-70%! He loses!

Agree0 Disagree2

If McColl is involved then it would have the support of most Rangers fans however we need to wait and see since Murray has spoken a lot but has never put his money where his mouth is and was part of the discredited David Murray regime

Agree2 Disagree2

He has 29% backing for an egm - which is sufficient. And they reckon he will get the backing to oust them. He wins!

Agree5 Disagree1

Me for one would be happy with this, finally get some stability within the board.

Agree1 Disagree1

Billionaire. But only offered. CG £6m last. Year. He could have saved all the hassle. And money by offering him say. £8m

Agree0 Disagree3

Yes he is a billionaire but he is also a very good business man and wouldn't pay over the odds to that wee weasel for us. Rangers man or not. Business men will not fling away money needlessly. If he is involved and can gain a controlling interest then he is exactly the kind of man we need to have a voice in the boardroom. The sooner we get a trustworthy majority shareholder to be on charge the better and stop all this infighting nonsense.

Agree1 Disagree1

Not a Rangers fan here in peace. This definitely could not be happening at a worse time for you guys AGAIN. You supporters (impressive how you got behind your team in such numbers) need and deserve stability. You also deserve clarity and transparency in all your club dealings.

I have no doubt that Green and his compatriots, if allowed to, will bleed you for every penny possible in inflated salaries share options etc. (much like the Glazers will continue to do at United). On the other hand they deserve some kudos for putting up some money when other, supposed Rangers men, did not.

Your biggest hope is enough people get behind Walter Smith to give you the boardroom and financial acumen you deserve. Best of luck.

Agree1 Disagree3

Fans get shafted whoever is in power. That's the honest way of it. Fans pay in money, they get salaries and feast on it. Aka Walter, ally, Jabba, Greeny, Ahmad, Stockbridge, Mathers.
I don't believe 10% ever of what KJ prints.
If McColl is making a move then he's saying he previously made a business mistake in not securing 100% of the club for himself at £5.5m. Doesn't sound like him admitting huge lack of business acumen.

Agree0 Disagree2

Paul Murray IS currently banned for five years from holding a position in association football. It's a Uefa regulation not open to revision or interpretation.

Agree0 Disagree2

Hope this is the last episode of infighting surly charles and the rest will give up the fight and agree to sell shares once he can. by the sounds of things charles doesn't stand a chance the fans won't stand with him and i'm sure walter will declare a public war on charles in the coming days

Regarding the ill informed comment on Paul Murray -he was actually on the Board that reduced the Rangers overdraft from £34m to £18m in 3 years plus gave us 3 Championships! The EBTs, which weren't illegal, were well before he was involved. The "Big Tax" bill for the reported £76m has already been found to be unlawful and the Ticketus debt of £26m has been proved to be nothing to do with the Club as it was entirely Craig Whyte's personal debt. If Paul Murray's offer had been accepted in the first place Rangers would not have been in Administration, never mind Liquidation as our actual debt at that time was totally manageable.

Agree4 Disagree1

Completely and utterly embarrassing result today out of the league cup at the first hurdle what the hell is going on at rangers. a whole bunch of new players and arguably the second best set of players in the country and cannot beat Forfar. I though Forfar were best known for bridies well not they are famous for stuffing turkey's as well.

Agree0 Disagree4

Mccoll has been banded about for years but he's never parted with the cash where was he when things were going tips up, talks cheap and he only owns a few hundred shares so put up or shut up Jim but normally when people have money especially billionaires it's because they are tight

Agree2 Disagree3

Post 2 above I know its no excuse but new players could not be selected today

Agree1 Disagree1

While wise spfl or spl or sfa men seek to follow epl no other business succeeds in following beneath epl no one club is ever garunteed euro football so could one diddy at sfa invite clubs south of the border to join our league with the prospect of euro qualification no nope a hope in hell all clubs run by persons sometimes you have to have a look at what you have rather than what what you don't invite English clubs north and then see what reaction you get ambitious clubs will come and bring money. Wasted ten minutes of my life posting this that I will never get back ardent rangers supporter but now can't be bothered looking for score means nothing but rangers v any English team bring it on game on

Agree0 Disagree2

I see that someone above has mentioned that Forfar are most famous for their brides. Well yesterday, Rangers played like a bunch of tarts.

When September comes along few of these players should be anywhere near the team and indeed some of them should be moved on.

One thing that it did prove was that McCoist is correct that we need a centre back and a striker. Little is out of his depth, even at this level and Faure will never make a defender in a million years. As for McCulloch he was sadly at fault for Forfar's first goal and for someone of his experience that was a disgrace. When all new players are in place he should not be in the starting eleven and if McCoist 'shoe horns' him in then it says little for the manager. August will be painful and sadly Green is correct when he says the current Rangers side is the worst in our history.

Agree0 Disagree1

Paul Murray was on the board under SDM, Alastair Johnston whom wanted to spend more on players and increase debt. Lloyds bankers reduced the debt. Murray was on the board that didn't produce accounts for three seasons. He was on the board that accepted the guilt of the small tax case for £8m (small that's a laugh) the big tax case of £76m is still being contested by HMRC.
We were told Craig Whyte's unpaid NI PAYE and vat bill was £18m That's too high for his time only and this hadn't been paid before Whyte arrived also. P Murray presided over £100m BoS indebtedness. And ultimately £130m, 276 shafted creditors.
P Murray's current status is not a fit and proper person to be an office bearer in an association football club. End of.

The guy with the axe to grind over Paul Murray needs to get his facts right and clearly only sees what he wants to see. Murray was never on the Board with Craig Whyte as Whyte refused to even speak to him as Murray asked too many awkward questions and demanded clarity which to this day has never been given. He along with Alastair Johnston practically begged SDM not to sell to Whyte and Murray spelled out his reasons why at the very beginning and to date he has been proved to be absolutely correct at every turn! It was Whyte who chose not to pay the Paye which was actually £4. 8M plus Craig Whytes Vat bill of £4m from his loan deal with Ticketus which was proven to be nothing to do with Rangers. Whyte then refused to pay any paye bill after that which is why it rose to the level it did, as he planned Liquidation all along with Green and Duff and Phelps right from the outset. Paul Murray has outstanding credentials which will stand any test and is a Real Rangers man who along with his team should be welcomed on to our Board as they will clean out the "Green Brigade" and cleanse the Club from top to bottom whilst reinstating our standards and traditions which are being eroded day by day.

Agree1 Disagree0

Jim McColl has already stated he will not put money into rangers only advice on the business side, he could have bought rangers from Murray for a pound! Why would you pay up to £20 million now then stadium repairs and massive spending when we get to the spl? Which could be around 40m or more sorry this isn't going to happen we need to seriously realise greens holding the aces or assets.

Ally McCoist on Rangers website, denying that he has to move anyone else on to bring in new signings. He says that negotiations with Boris Pandza's agent are going along quite well but that it's taken a bit longer than expected. (no idea what that means) He's also reiterated his desire to bring in another striker and that he's received backing from Craig Mather to persue this. Where the latest boardroom shenanigans come into this is anybody's guess.

Believable12 Unbelievable34

Well after yesterday's abysmal performance he has plenty of options for players to move on. His only problem is finding anyone to take guys like Faure, McCulloch, Hegarty, Little and that is just for starters!

Agree0 Disagree1

Why would we get rid of mcculloch or little? There to of r better players.

Agree1 Disagree0

"Ally MCcoist says. ", do me a favour he is a liar and a charlatan and well on his way out of Ibrox, good riddance to bad rubbish!
