all these rumours on here about signing fortune or jones or even sissoko should be dubbed nonsence.rangers startin in D3 is perfect for us to bring youth into the team but as usual the sum sections of the support would rather we gave an average forgeiner a chance rather than a good scottish prospect.bring youth in its our perfect chance.

Believable8 Unbelievable21

We can give youngsters a chance but we need experience to get us back into the top flight

Agree1 Disagree0

I agree this transfer embargo just might be a blessing in disgise.
If I were a under 18 player Rangers were interested in I would hope that instead of keeping the bench warm I would now get a chance to show my worth.
Also then if we having to sell to make ends meet we are not trying to punt on old timers with no future.
We could have got a fair price for McCabe if things were diffrent.

Agree0 Disagree0

Aye but we've no even got enough players to fill the bench ally needs to bring in some experince u tube or we will only have a squad of 16 all season and that will come in handy with injury and suspensions!

Agree0 Disagree0

Im a celtic fan but i believe rangers need seasoned campaigners to get back to the top as quickly as possible. to go with youth as many of you are suggesting would never work as they would be bullied in the lower divisions.what do others think.

Is this greek midfielder any good?

Sheilds in, good signing will rip the third div up, black not to sure about was rank against brechin

anyone know of any other potentials?

Believable12 Unbelievable31

Hes a amazing passer and will set up loads of goals he's also the only ever outfeild player to play in the number 1 shirt

Agree0 Disagree0

He set up littles 1st goal

Agree0 Disagree0

Sheils may not be happy u dont know his name

Agree0 Disagree0

Lmao the club goes to the wall and most our players leave. But alexander is thinking here's ma chance Rangers number one here I come! Nope sorry mate some Greek midfielders taken that right aff ee...

Agree0 Disagree0

Must remember Black has just came back from an operation on his groin (I think) & hasn't had a pre season
when assessing him & beattie a week or so ago - black was only doing light running

bil72

Agree0 Disagree0

Im sure Ossie Airdiles played in the number 1 shirt for Argentina in the 82 World Cup.

Agree0 Disagree0

From a greek fan he was a good player 10 years ago. But he will look good in div 3. Would have rather we were able to keep mccabe and ness but thats short sightedness on their part.

Agree0 Disagree1

Well done to the greeks gubbing motherwell 2 back stabbing teams down 2 more to follow w.a.t.p

Agree0 Disagree0

Black hasn't played football all summer (either have the other players), but he's also just had an operation - are you going to start booing him?

Agree0 Disagree0

He is just back from hernia op

Agree0 Disagree0

Was he in Greece when he set up Little's 1st goal? If so, he definitely is an amazing passer!

Agree0 Disagree0

He is recovering from two hernia operationgive him time.

Agree0 Disagree0

Black will come good, lack of matches was the whole teams struggle at the weekend...a few more games and they will be up to speed

Agree0 Disagree0

Mcculloch set up little for his goal did he not?

Agree0 Disagree0

For goodness sake give the guy a chance, (black) he's only had 1 weeks training, no pre-season typical Rangers fan, looking for instant success, get behind the team, All Season, then you can say who had a bad or good season.

Agree0 Disagree0

To 3rd reply, his name is Shiels....

My surname is spelled Sheils and people get it wrong all the time...

Agree0 Disagree0

Black was class first 50 mins then looked tiredness just kicked everyone, recovering from injury tho

Just a thought. Wat about Robbie Fowler. Surely he'd do a job in the 3rd

Believable19 Unbelievable48

Fck sake get ally to get his boots on as well wonder what souness is up to

Agree0 Disagree0

What about david Beckham ? he would do a job in the 3rd ?? oh my mate works in the cleny empties bins and he DOES do a job in the 3rd

Agree0 Disagree0

You on mars mate?

Agree0 Disagree0

And what does he gain to playing 3rd division football? Apart from a few bruises maybe.

Agree0 Disagree1

No chance ! surely we can attract, some young blood ( on loan ) from down south that would be a better option . BIG BILL...

Agree0 Disagree0

Well he is a gers fan

Agree0 Disagree0

The guy is using the forum correctly and making a comment. If, as everyone expect, Sevco progress back to SPL in consecutive seasons and then qualify for CL...what a story to be part of! Some of these guys like Owen etc. might just be interested as they don't really need the money. I am sure that the Sevco management are looking at acashing-in on this type of tv/film deal. (If they are good businessmen they will be)

Agree0 Disagree0

I just wish we could attract talent like peter van vossen, ahh those were the days ...

Agree0 Disagree0

Whats he now, 50? get real! steviebear

Agree0 Disagree0

The guy just made a SUGGESTION. No need to be snide to the fellah!

Agree0 Disagree0

'Wat' about Robbie Fowler? 'Wat' about people that can't even spell sharing awful Football Manager based theories on here? In a short answer: NO. IT'S NOT GOING TO HAPPEN

Agree0 Disagree0

Stop calling it Sevco. We are Rangers!

Agree0 Disagree0

Oh my luck this is fantastic. Sell the rights to Hollywood surely it will be THE GREATEST STORY EVER STROLLED, featuring the Govan Strollers.

Agree0 Disagree0

You people have learned nothing omg it was signing overpriced, over the hill and over paid players that got you into this mess in the first place , and fowler fits into every catagory ,fab1

Anyone think Rob Jones (ex Hibs and Sheffield Wednesday) would be a good shout on a free? Big solid centre back and dominant in the air. Exactly the type of player needed in D3.

Rangers1

Believable40 Unbelievable23

He signed for huddersfeild yesterday

Agree0 Disagree1

Hes just signed 2 year contract with doncaster

Agree0 Disagree0

Keep this nonsense up and in 6 months it will be LIQUIDATION FOR THE NEWCO,SOME FUDS NEVER LEARN................

Good big player. He would come defo, we are still paying the 2nd highest wages in the country by a mile.

J

What do people think about the new name " the rangers football club" I'm not sure myself.
could we not have changed to "Glasgow Rangers football club" since we were only ofiicaily "Rangers football club"???

Believable30 Unbelievable28

You are incorrect about the old name.

The new name is "The Rangers Football Club Limited".

The old name was "The Rangers Football Club PLC".

The only thing that has changed is "PLC" to "Limited".

"The" has always been in the title.

Incidentally, the old club name "The Rangers Football Club PLC" has now been changed to RFC 2012 PLC.

Mac2.

Agree0 Disagree0

I would rather all of us just call it Rangers Football Club. "The Rangers" is only our company name. We are still Rangers, we still have 140 years of history, and by referring to our team by these new names just insults the history

Agree1 Disagree1

This is just the holding company? We used to be owned by a company called "The Rangers Football Club PLC" or something similar. The club is, and always will be, Rangers FC. People are just emphasising the "The" at the start of the name now to make us look like a new/ distinct club. Someone posted on here last week with the names of all the holding companies of SPL clubs. None of them are known as simply [name] FC. Most were, e.g, "The Celtic Football Club" or whatever. Everyone should just get over these silly names - we are Rangers, no matter what!

Agree0 Disagree0

We were always the rangers football club, we have aquired the name the 'oldco' got rid off so we could have it.

Agree0 Disagree0

Looks like FTT is due for release, as date of hearing which were withheld - now announced. 5 days notice given the defendants, so would appear we in the 5 day countdown.

Agree0 Disagree0

These are the names of the company that owns/used to own the club - they're irrelevant.

Agree1 Disagree0

Why do rangers need a new name ??fab1

Agree0 Disagree0

Its only the company name thats changed not the club name ya rocket

Agree0 Disagree0

To the guy saying it is the holding company, that is not correct.

The Rangers Football Club Limited is the football club.

Mac2.

Agree0 Disagree1

BDO the liquidators need to agree to all of this, it was only D&P on behalf of the oldco agreeing to it today. In business terms in means nothing until the liquidation process is complete.

Agree0 Disagree0

In fact, to take the point on holding companies further, "The Rangers Football Club PLC" was the name of the previous football club, it was not a holding company either. However, the holding company of the football club was The Rangers Group Limited (formerly Wavetower) which in turn had 100% of it's share capital owned by Craig Whyte through another company called Liberty Capital, registered in the British Virgin Islands.

At present there is no holding company of "The Rangers Football Club Limited".

Mac2.

Agree0 Disagree0

timmy tim........bet you dont let this in Ed....but its true.... {Ed001's Note - it won't get posted because you couldn't post it in any way that wasn't just foul and abusive. Next time I will just block you.}

Agree0 Disagree0

Its only the financial organization that every club uses to register that went bust. The CLUB is still the same old lovely club! It's just that all clubs now must have a financial part to them which is registered as a company at the stock exchange blah blah. And we now have a new comany (newco) for the club!

Agree0 Disagree0

Unless BDO ignore the Insolvency Act,we won't be Rangers anything!

Agree0 Disagree0

I'd rather you paid back your £100million+ of debt before you every use that name in any context. It's misleading to everyone to use the name of a liquidated club.

Agree0 Disagree0

The only thing in the name that is different is Ltd rather than Plc. Stop listening to the tims, they are al full of sh*t

J

Agree0 Disagree0

The only difference in the name is its been transferred from one football club to another

Rangers clinch signing of Dean Shiels

Rangers have signed former Hibernian and Kilmarnock midfielder Dean Shiels on a four-year contract.

The 27-year-old Northern Ireland international moves to Ibrox as a free agent following an excellent season at Rugby Park.

He won the League Cup with the Ayrshire side and made the four-man, short-list for Scotland's player of the year.

Rangers, who are preparing for life in Division Three, hope to register the player officially on Friday.

Shiels had rejected the offer of new terms at Killie, while he had been linked with a return to Hibs, where he played for nearly five years before switching to Doncaster in January 2009.

Meanwhile, club owners Sevco Scotland Limited is changing its name to The Rangers Football Club Limited.

An extraordinary general meeting of 'oldco' shareholders took place at Ibrox, where procedures were approved to enable the name change.

Charles Green's Sevco consortium completed the purchase of the business and assets of Rangers in June after the club was consigned to liquidation following failure to secure a Company Voluntary Arrangement in order to exit administration.

Rangers were granted conditional Scottish Football Association membership on Friday night, which will be completed when the formal transfer of 'oldco' Rangers' Scottish Premier League share to Dundee takes place later this week.

"The process that took place today is the penultimate piece of the jigsaw that will see The Rangers Football Club move forward, with the transfer of SFA membership being the final piece," Green told the club website.

Dean Shiels signs a four year contract with Rangers.
Also, Rangers granted permission to name the club The Rangers Football Club, transferring all rights to the name to the new structure. This means we keep our history OFFICIALLY. We are the people.

Stevemac

Believable29 Unbelievable26

I am afraid it doesn't mean that at all. It si unlikely that Sevco can change the name as suggested without the permission of BDO. It is a new club because the club and the company were incorporated and liquidated together

Grout

Agree1 Disagree2

Woooohooo!!

now we just wait for the big tax case:D....cos, if you look like old rangers, smell like old rangers, then you must be old rangers......and HMRC won't be slow in pointing that out lol!

Agree0 Disagree4

Do they sevco keep there history! History never dies but it's the start of a new club and history for them. Cmac

Agree0 Disagree1

Oh my god just leave it Rangers as was will shortly be liquidated, Charles Green formed a Newco to be known as The Rangers , let's worry about getting the right players in as we'll have them til Jan 2014

Still frustrated bear

Agree0 Disagree1

You get to keep your 1 game history against Brechin.
Rangers 140yrs history died when Rangers liquidated.
im a Rangers fan lets get behind Green & the new company.

Agree0 Disagree3

We cannot keep a name near to us as the rangers football club looks more likely to be the Glasgow rangers football club

Agree0 Disagree1

Good! Your history will be tarnished when they remove the titles you won through financial doping. Without the dual contracts your team would have went out of business by 2006 if you had put the wages through officially and paid tax on them.

Agree0 Disagree3

Actually bbc reported you will have all sorts of problems changing any name and there is at least 5 names registered with a similar name and it can take over a yr to change BDO can also refuse unless i,ve been reading a different website.Fairy season begins again.

Agree0 Disagree0

What about the titles celtic won when Rangers were using The EBT Scheme then? Any complaints about cheating? Was always 11v11 on the pitch

Agree2 Disagree0

Rangers 2012 sounds new distance itself from rangers fc the old co the name cannot be to close

Agree0 Disagree0

Celtic used EBT's, however Celtic did it legally, Rangers didn't. Hence the side contracts. Do keep up!

Agree0 Disagree0

How depressing when we are looking at Dean Shields as a good signing he should be no were near our club

Agree0 Disagree0

There will always be a rangers no matter what

Agree0 Disagree0

I agree with the above poster the years rangers used ebt's and dual contracts and celtic won the league should result in rangers being stripped of prize money from the league position the european runs etc. etc. you want to pick and chose the history you take forward, it doesn't work like that {Ed039's Note - Where does it stop? Take the goalposts that were bought during that time? Get a grip guys)

Agree0 Disagree0

31 Jul 2012 11:52:43
Sevco Scotland Ltd has officially changed it's name to The Rangers Football Club Ltd, which will soon become a plc. This is the exact same name as Rangers have always been known as. Today the 'oldco' held an extraordinary general meeting where the 'oldco' name was changed to RFC 2012. So we are officially Rangers and Sevco is no longer a relevant term.

Believable20 Unbelievable27

I love it when folk disagree with a fact. Presumably a Sellick fan in denial. Reach for the comfort blanket.

Agree2 Disagree0

So this is where the problems start or should i say continue!
How can a liquidated club change it's name ? Surely that means its a new club? And if Sevco change it's name to Rangers does that mean its the old club that was liquidated ?
Confused.com!!

Agree0 Disagree2

I think BDO might object that that to be honest. Too much like a phoenix company for their liking.
Hamish

Agree0 Disagree0

Officially The Rangers.
It's no the same; Smith, Green, Hately, Gorum, Naismith have all told us that!

Agree0 Disagree0

Aye but there's been a 2 month break in the history therefore we aren't what we used to be.

Agree0 Disagree0

Give it 12 months and you will be having another name....... Don't expect you will sell more than 12 -15,000 season tickets, and you won't have the crowds at Ibrox, should you win the 3rd division by a mile... your only hope is to make winning the 3rd division a season long event rather than doing it by winning every game.

Agree0 Disagree0

You'll still be known as Sevco. If you can call yourself "the people" the rest of Scottish football will call you Sevco. We won't let you forget what has happened. You can't brush it under the carpet.

Agree0 Disagree2

If you wear a deadmans clothes and stay in his home you are not that person they are dead. Rangers are liquidated and sevco Scotland bought their assets, sevco has now got permission to call themselves rangers so history can move but unfortunately it's sevco's history as they are the parent company

Agree0 Disagree1

Should have called it The MIGHTY Glasgow Rangers.

Agree0 Disagree0

To the fan in denial your club is dead, history and titles and how can you read the bbc story then blatantly lie about what it actually said! There hasn,t been any name change approved by anyone on earth except you and green so tell the real truth as anybody who does read the site will know you are a born liar.

Agree0 Disagree2

To the poster who says"we wont let you forget what has happened", isnt that "your" problem my bitter fiend :)

Agree2 Disagree0

The main asset sevco bought was the CLUB! Battered and bruised but we are alive and kicking in d3, with a new company shell! Rangers the club remain the same, it was the parent company(shell) that went bust.

Agree0 Disagree0

I follow Celtic mainly but I could not care what the new co is called. With all the problems facing Scottish football this should be the least of our worries.

Agree0 Disagree0

BOO HOO! The greeting sellik fans are raging that we still exist and are getting more worldwide attention than them. Enjoy your boring SPL this year, will it still be going on by Xmas? I think not. How are your season ticket sales coming along? Great to see your directors BEGGING folk to buy them. Hope youz get pumped in Europe too - as i no longer support the SFA or Scotland, the coefficient means nothing to me.

Agree0 Disagree0

We are called rangers fc nothing has changed lets get on with the football

Agree0 Disagree0

31 Jul 2012 11:52:39
Just an idea fellow bears, but don't you think McFadden would do a job for us? I know it would be a risk but in the leagues we are trying to get out of we will need a little bit quality to unlock a defence or do something special.we seem to have a hard working squad with good passers and quite physical too but when we've met these sort of teams in the past theres often been a wee touch of magic to put us through! Remember every games a cup final to them against us? Just a thought.

Believable14 Unbelievable36

There is absolutely no way mcfadden would sign. never going to drop down to division 3!

Agree0 Disagree0

The boy is a die hard celtic fan!

Agree0 Disagree0

Get McFadden,Kyle and Beattie and our new sponsors could be BUPA.

Blueice

Agree1 Disagree0

I hear where your going but am not keen on that one,the guys a self confessed Celtic fan and I'm not to into that, plus I'm not sure he's what we really need, highly unlikely but what about Templeton from hearts got pace and ability and rumoured to have spoken to black and would be keen on a move.but as usual down to money.

Agree1 Disagree0

He's desperate to sign for us but we dont want him, quite happy for him to sign for the Shame though...

Iain

Agree1 Disagree0

Did you no think those young boys McLeod and Makay played well at the weekend? What do we want that perma-sicknote clogging things up for? He's got emergency plan z tim signing written all over him for when they get pumped oot Europe by the Finns and can't afford anything else.

Rangers to sign dean shiels and sissoko from killie
Dean on a free as he's a free agent and sissoko for 230 k

Believable8 Unbelievable28

Where is the 230K coming from?

I am angered by the short sightedness of the signings, all that money on Murray park and Ally is doing anything to get average SPL players in. Give youth a chance in these divisions!

Agree0 Disagree0

I agree with sheils signing its only a matter of time, but can't see ally getting 230k to spend on sissoko as nice as it would be! He will only be signing free's I'm afraid!

Agree0 Disagree0

Dean Shiels is a great signing. Sissoko is a very comfortable player and would do a good job for us if that one is true.

Agree0 Disagree0

Short sightedness?? We are in div 3, we need to get through the leagues ASAP! Youth wouldn't cut it getting kicked about div 3! A good mixture us required, stop moaning and get behind the team!!

Agree0 Disagree0

Sorry, but is Sissoko not only on loan from AC Milan? My mate's a Killie fan and that's what he says

Agree0 Disagree0

Ally has weeks to build a team to stay together for the next 14 months, top class players aren't going to come, but players like Shiels are fans who are here to be legends and for the journey we are about to go on, and the others know the chance to play for a team like Rangers doesnt come along often we need experience, youth, and most inportantly numbers, and quickly....let Ally do what he needs to and not slate players before they have even bedded in......Once a Ranger always a Ranger, through the good, the bad, and the suicidal times!

Agree0 Disagree0

He is on loan to Udinese not AC

No, Sissoko is on loan from Udinese

Where is chris burke these days. On his game he could do a job for us out wide

Believable19 Unbelievable51

Think he is still at bham

Agree2 Disagree2

Burke is a star player for Birmingham. He doesn't need us and is far too good. Infact he should never have been sold. Never given a dece t run or chance.

No doubt the usual bashers will be on shouting nonsense. Blah blah blah.....

GDog
RTID

Agree0 Disagree1

He signed for birmingham last year. first team player. no chance of coming back. he will be on good money. i thought he was very inconsistant at rangers anyway.

Agree1 Disagree0

I think Burke would be a cracking signing for us...but there is no chance it would happen. The wee man is an integral part of the Birmingham set up and don't see him leaving to play in the Scottish 3rd.

Agree0 Disagree1

Loved chris Burke back in the day, great player but he's at Birmingham now I'm sure and playing regularly so doubt he'd come back up for div 3. Plus, he was a scelptic fan as well wasn't he?

Agree0 Disagree0

Burke is at birmingham and played most games 4 them

Agree0 Disagree0

Burke is at Birmingham City now and was voted Player of the Year last year after scoring 14 goals and 19 assists

Agree0 Disagree0

Doing well at Birmingham city

Agree0 Disagree0

Birmingham. I'm sure hel want to come back to play in the first division. Another young boy the fans gave a hard time

Agree0 Disagree0

Having a laugh chris Burke played a key role in the Birmingham team last year and won player of the year soo no chance of getting him do some research before coming on here talking crap ! And let's all be realistic

Agree1 Disagree0

Why do we insist on linking ourselves with s**t players who've previously been on our books . This is a new era for us lets move on forward and upward leaving the rest behind that includes the likes of Burke , novo , sebo .... These players played for us in testing times and would never have played for us otherwise !

Agree0 Disagree0

Is he not at Birmingham, I doubt he would come to us wages wise. Also he was treated pretty badly here and is from a Celtic family I think ... Was a great wee winger for us though.

Agree0 Disagree0

Just to confirm, same chris burke who has been liked to premiership teams in a two million pound move? pfft we need to get our heeds out the clouds bears!

Agree1 Disagree0

You let hm go for free to cardiff.because he wasnt good enough. he is now with birmingham earning wages you cant afford. WHY DONT YOU KNOW THIS STUFF.. shamrock

Agree0 Disagree1

Hes doing well at Bham and hes been linked with a move to Norwich...

Agree0 Disagree0

Have to disagree with those who say burke was never given a fair crack of the whip. i liked burke, i thought he was a good squad player and no more. he had plenty runs in the team but sadly his distribution wasnt consistent enough, distinct lack of goals and he was very very lightweight. also he was very injury prone, it was best for both parties to part company and burke has gone on to make a decent career at the moment for birmingham.
