Dorrans has asked Norwich to leave the club ASAP according hitc

27 Jun 2017 20:13:45
Boy is desperate to come home, can't wait for him to be a ranger.

28 Jun 2017 01:31:39
#bringhimhome

28 Jun 2017 08:23:19
Agreed a deal with Norwich according to the s*n this morning.

28 Jun 2017 08:41:53
It's definitely turning into a bit of a saga this deal, hopefully we do sign him, I think personally he's a decent player and would do a great job for us

27 Jun 2017 17:17:18
Hello fellow bears. I have a genuine rumour here. Whether you's believe me or not, I don't really care. I very rarely come on here with solid rumours. Anyway. There I was today minding my own business in work as u do (I work as a chef btw and we have an open kitchen) and Neil Warnock pops past the kitchen. Random I know. So I begin a convo with him about football and tell him I'm a rangers man. He then asks me my opinion on barrie mckay and I tell him honestly that he's got potential but rarely turns up for games and he said and I quote "I was thinking of taking a gamble on him". I then had a joke with him and said we'll accept 10 Mil for him and he just laughed and went back upstairs so I could cook his food. As I said guys if u believe me or not I'm not fussed. But I promise it is genuine. Nothing may materialise from it all but we'll see. Thoughts?

27 Jun 2017 18:46:36
Hahahahahahahahaha did he aye, just happens to ask the chef for a low down on a player
Gee piece man

27 Jun 2017 18:57:40
Did you give his dog some sausages?

27 Jun 2017 19:23:47
As I said I'm not fussed if you's believe me or not. I know it's true. I admit it's strange that he asked me about a player but it is what it is.

27 Jun 2017 20:08:26
I don't think this is unreasonable tbh, cheers mate.

27 Jun 2017 21:27:48
Is the kitchen you work in the asdas outside Ibrox and Warnock realised your advice was first class especially on saving money but seriously a manager would not approach a player in contract without permission of the club would not travel miles to scout a player when they are not involved in a game and only training behind closed doors and especially would not disclose any specific targets to a chef if you had said he was up scouting a player in Glasgow it would be believable

27 Jun 2017 21:50:48
This is a new one football Roumers from a kind of upmarket Chippie

27 Jun 2017 22:09:41
Could be true Neil Warnock has a house in bridge of weir

27 Jun 2017 22:17:19
What a load of garbage do you drive from Dunoon to Murray Park every day for work?

27 Jun 2017 22:31:03
dunoonbluebear, clearly you are fussed or you wouldn't have replied back. but saying that. I was Manchester last week and pep asked me the same thing. told him the boy is a chip off the old block and he should buy him for £5million plus a 30% sell on clause plus a player on loan for the next 2 seasons. said jeus Gabriel would do. if not him then maybe just maybe David Silva. but hey we can wish I suppose. hahahaha

27 Jun 2017 23:45:35
Atleast some of you's actually believe me. He actually has a house in dunoon aswell and visits regularly. It was just a general enquiry from him. He didn't get a paper and pen out or have an agent with him or anything like that! Ha he was having lunch with his wife. He asked me how barrie was as a player and said he was thinking of a gamble. He was a very pleasant man and easy to talk to. Whether he was serious or not I don't know. Just passing on genuine info bears.

28 Jun 2017 08:23:12
I wouldn't worry about it. Most on here are just as bad as key board warriors. Unless it's yesterday's news they're only interested in making fun of it. I personally don't see why it's hard to believe that he would ask someone's opinion. It's not like he's going to take your word on it but as you said you were just making small talk.

28 Jun 2017 08:50:48
I thought that's what a rumour page was for just passing on information that we've heard I mean let's be honest there's been some belters on here at times like Drogba, Ibra, RVP, Terry, Lampard which are all way way made up, so Dunnoon bears information about a casual chat with Neil Warnock seems plausible to me

28 Jun 2017 09:07:18
Christ, you'd think he was reporting an RVP rumour the way some of you are reacting. Does he have a history of BS posts to justify a troll type response from folk? . Sounds such a random encounter it's likely true. It's not exactly an exciting (attention seeking) post either, is it? Warnock was clearly making small talk with a guy that said he supported Rangers and asked his opinion, just to be nice.

27 Jun 2017 15:37:01
I heard from a pretty good source thatvrangera are meant to be getting 3 Chelsea youth players on a season long loan it was part of the billy gilmour signing for Chelsea.

27 Jun 2017 15:51:09
Pedro said he doesn't want more than 2 loan players.

27 Jun 2017 15:54:22
was the source bruno3. Chelsea got Gilmour fare and square. he went for money not the love of the game. I'd be happy if we played our own youth and not anyone else's.

27 Jun 2017 16:15:16
Much prefer dorrans or walker and blood our own youngsters

27 Jun 2017 18:43:55
I would much rather bring our own youth through and take someone on load who is hungry with a point to prove.

Another couple of permanent signings (hopefully Dorrans and another defender)
A couple of loan signings to give cover
Then take Walker and McLean on pre contracts (a big two fingers up to Aberdeen and Hearts)

I'll be happy with that

27 Jun 2017 21:33:49
Pedro actually said he doesn't want more the 2 loan players for the same position. That being said no way are we taking 3 Chelsea players on loan. Loaning multiple players from one club never works out for both parties.

28 Jun 2017 00:49:02
Haha your opening statement said I very rarely come on here with solid rumours which to me means you come on waffling nonsense but aye that happens all the time according to some on here petrol stations cafes chippies all top notch places for scouting loool I'll finish with a did he. aye 😂

28 Jun 2017 02:08:45
Surely we would be more likely to get a City youngster on loan due to new director of Footballs knowledge and contacts from there.

28 Jun 2017 02:16:19
I suspect that it will take a couple of years before the majority of our Youth players are ready for the first team squad. Right now I wouldn't be adverse to taking one or two Chelsea youngsters!

28 Jun 2017 02:19:16
Serious question here lads, at what point do we stop caring about youth development and start caring about having the best and most suitable players, regardless of age and nationality?

I see a ton of comments about bringing through our own, but to be honest, if they're not the very best available to us, they're not the standard we should be accepting.

I'd happily have a top-tier loanee from Chelsea than a mid-table SPL player from our youth setup. Maybe it's just me, but I feel that the "loyalty to youth" aspect of the game is almost irrelevant now, we should continue to seek the very best at all ages and build around what's available to us.

Thoughts?

27 Jun 2017 07:53:58
Barrie McKays future in fresh doubt after he was sent to train with the under 20's.

27 Jun 2017 08:24:31
Big mistake letting Mckay go in my opinion. The best player we've brought through in years and will only get better. Yes he's been off the boil recently but with better players around him that could easily change. Would have real sell on value in 2/ 3 seasons.

27 Jun 2017 08:48:07
saw that this morning also - wonder if it is just paper talk. he was included in the Europa league squad so Pedro must have thought he would use him. i would rather he stayed.

27 Jun 2017 09:15:46
As it stands Barrie has not done enough to merit a new deal on improved terms as he was pretty rank rotten last year. He can't live off 2 good years in the championship and expect to get the same sort of deal as a proven player would. He just hasn't earned it yet! NO player is bigger than the club.

27 Jun 2017 09:20:54
at some point potential has to be realised and all players must improve year on year and add things to their game

makay has great skill but has not stepped up for me.

in terms of goals and assists he's still a lot of work to do and with respect to working back and tackling when we don't have the ball ie in big games vs them and away at pittodrie and tynecastle. he's worse than a man doon - shoved off the ball far too easily and attitude to work rate is just not there

sorry he wldnt be in my team i'm looking for more than a drop of the shoulder now and again and few goals a season from a winger in my rangers team

27 Jun 2017 09:33:39
Pedro needs to put his arm round this boy and have a meamigful conversation. If the deal on offer is inferior to that offered to others (believe it is) we should have offered him improved terms if he wants to stay. My understanding is that the boy wants to stay but feels slighted by the deal offered. It is usual to leave in these situations and for both parties to regret it for a very long time. Having watched the St Johnstone game can tell you the Portuguese boy up front playing number 7 is not a patch on BM. Come on Pedro get this sorted.

27 Jun 2017 09:39:21
Mckay rejected an improved contract offer he's had 1 decent season in the scottish championship . if he's wanting to join the snakes at forest let him we need players who want to play for the badge.

27 Jun 2017 13:14:51
Mckay has pace skill and a great first touch but if he's not showing the right attitude to the manager then maybe it's best he moved on its a pity cause I thought he could be a big player for us .

27 Jun 2017 14:07:26
Personally very happy to let him go. I don't rate him at all. Not good enough to improve current squad

27 Jun 2017 14:48:12
He asked permission to speak to clubs as he wants to move on, nothing anyone can do about that if he doesn't want to be a rangers player then I'm sure we won't be to bothered

27 Jun 2017 17:37:21
Reckon he a brilliant potential player and hope he stays. However if his attitude isn't right ( only pedro And wee Barry know the truth on this) then probably best he goes as look what happens after last year when there is a poor attitude. Will wait until official communciation of something happening before judging rather than all this gossip in the papers. Not seen a shred of evidence that he was training with the u20's yet.

27 Jun 2017 18:03:27
Cardiffblue, Could be on his way to Cardiff.

27 Jun 2017 19:00:18
Would be disappointed to see Barrie leave.
If he plays with better players he will improve, let's be honest here he was playing with a team of duds last season.
If he can be consistent then we have a game changer on our hands, but many wingers are inconsistent and don't start to add consistency to their game until their mid twenties.
I would keep him, he has pace, skill, and his first touch is something Laudurp would be proud of.
However like many fans he bottles challenges and is not clinical enough, but with a good coach you would be able to see a massive improvement in his game.
The ball is in Barrie's court to improve his game and attitude, he could earn the club a small fortune in few years but is it a risk worth taking? Only Pedro knows this.
I do find it strange he is included in the Euro squad and then the next day he is meant to be banished to the under 20's and told to find a new club.

27 Jun 2017 21:21:36
Sell McKay now take a million for him if wee get that! most 20 year old would loose an eye to play for us but McKay seems to think he's better! In all honesty he had 3 or 4 good games last year wee need 34 good games from our so called best! Not good enough sell and replace

28 Jun 2017 00:57:26
The problem with McKay is he just hasn't done enough to merit a run in team or see if he develops and to be honest he isn't a youngster in footballing terms he should be showing far more at 22 i'm not drawing comparison but Raheem sterling is 22 lukaku is 24 I'm not comparing Barry to them and I know players develop at different stages however my point being at his age he should be a first team regular and consistent like other players around that age group I still hear fans saying he might develop but I feel he should have by now

{Ed001's Note - N'Golo Kante only signed his first professional contract at 22. Every player is different mate.}

28 Jun 2017 02:21:12
Top quality players genuinely show more than potential before they are 22 or 23. They also show a positive attitude. McKay's attitude stinks! He doesn't track back he doesn't fight for the ball and he is too easily dispossessed. There is only so much that Warburton can be blamed for in terms of turning our players into softies! McKay is a decent player and I believe that he could be a lot better but equally I suspect that his mentality is suspect. If he really wants to play for us then he should knuckle down and show what he can do!

Who knows, perhaps Weir has got to him just as he did with Naismith in his Everton days!

28 Jun 2017 23:50:34
Ed I did write every player is different however Kante in 4 years since signing pro contract has amassed over 35million in transfers McKay has been playing pro for rangers for a few years knows the team the opposition etc he should be far more developed than what he shows and the players developing after 21-23 etc are a minority I just don't think McKay has any heart or consistency or what it takes to be a rangers player in my opinion

27 Jun 2017 05:32:38
Andy Halliday may well go to Dundee FC on a season loan deal where Neil McCanns side will pay half his wages

27 Jun 2017 05:39:52
How about let him go for free and sign for anybody he wants

27 Jun 2017 08:28:51
Dundee would be a Good move

27 Jun 2017 09:27:16
You would struggle to find anyone willing to pay him what Rangers are paying him so he'll be doing what any other person would do and will stay put until his contract ends.

27 Jun 2017 13:58:38
Surely Andy Halliday is destined to become a Kilmarnock player

27 Jun 2017 14:37:44
Suppose he might end up there one day but if the media is to be believed at the moment he's on his way to Azerbaijan to join up with FC Gabala (no, I've never heard them either! ) For the season. Good luck to him if he does-true blue sure but not true Rangers class unfortunately.

28 Jun 2017 10:22:04
Does anyone feel as I do that the previous regime set up very expensive and very long term contracts for players that are now hard to move on?

26 Jun 2017 23:53:54
MOH has no intention of moving on unless someone can match the 7K per week he is currently getting at Rangers.

27 Jun 2017 08:29:57
Rangers could pay half his wages to get him off the books
