Why is McCoist on Sly Sports saying he hops though not confident Jelavic will still be a Rangers laer by 11pm on 31st jan, maybe i am wrong but does the SPL window not cose on 1st Feb or is this a clear indication that he will leave at last minute.

Believable7 Unbelievable3

Lol, couldn't see full box when typing so a lot of letters missing in words, u get the point tho

Agree4 Disagree1

It's when the english transfer window closes

taco

This is because our club dont like telling us the truth anymore shocking

i have just heard from a good source that the other mob have signed pawel brozik on loan

Believable9 Unbelievable8

To be fair mate im a celtic fan and the way your club has conducted its business and its handling of players recently more so trialists if it was a choice im sure celtic would come out tops each time, wouldnt you agree? Willybhoy

Agree11 Disagree16

He's goin to rangers apparently. green jhedi

Agree5 Disagree8

Well your wrong willy cause the polish lads coming to the bears on loan, possibly permanent !!

Agree4 Disagree9

Wullie, I think you might be wrong, but I do get your point.

Pete

Agree3 Disagree3

Willy, sometimes the trialist fail to impress or as we have seen recently, are attracted by the so called promised land that is down South. Some get offers but want more than the clubs are prepared to pay. Rangers are doing nothin different from any other club,,, yes even Celtic. By the way, it's always good to have a depth of pool, but I'm looking at Celtic and can't help wondering when the s**t is going to hit the fan. There's no way Celtic can sustain the size of squad they have at the moment. They are operating on borrowed time (and money).

Agree4 Disagree5

We have a guaranteed 13 mill credit with bank underwritten by dd think I should be more bothered about ur own sinking ship.think you'll find our taxes and debts are paid in full on time as we're not run by an ego maniac or a con man
Hoodbhoy

Agree3 Disagree3

Celtic are operating on borrowed money aaahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh when will WE get our head out the sand they have had they accounts sigmed off and it showed a small amount of debt so let think about our own club(what left of it) lets get together and try and save our club.Even before the tax case the unadited account show liabilities in the next year (thats this june)we hae to find over £40m-wake up bears before it too late

Agree2 Disagree3

Willybhoy
Celtic deny VVV Venlo claim over Michael Uchebo. He knocked you back.
The Dutch club say they have rejected a bid from Celtic for the Nigerian striker but sources at the Parkhead club say that is not true. Of course it isn't celtic always tell the truth, maybees.
sport.stv.tv/football/scottish-premier/celtic/295318-celtic-deny-vvv-venlo-claim-over-michael-uchebo/

Agree4 Disagree1

We have no debt and a wage structure in place so we can sustain the benifets of having a big squad we dont do what what yous do hand big contracts to all your star players so yous can try flog them for big prices then when s**t hits the fan yous realise no1 wants them and cant afford to pay them was only a few month ago the wonderful craig whyte said he needed to cut wage bill by 7 mil so concern yourself with your own club please :-)

Agree2 Disagree1

Celtic are paying the wages of about 26 players. The rest are on loan.

Agree0 Disagree1

Haha, borrowed time.what a straw clutcher, wake up n smell the coffee! you are deeply in debt and thats not counting the tax case! if you win all appeals(and thats what it is) you will still have around 5m to pay.

Agree0 Disagree1

Celtic paying 26 players, p!sh, thay have 30 first team raegulars and big wage earners in the squad and 8 fringe players in it. They also have 8 plkayers out on loan, thats 46 in total, Im certain this will be celtics biggest squad ever. Three years without CL football and a squad this size, yet they make a token £100,000 profit, my a*se. Their wage bill was 9 million more than us the year before last, ours is being cut and theirs is growing. I think they may even be double what ours will be this year. It was 56% of their turnover two seasons ago including one CL qualifier and a UEFA group run, their turnover has decreased every year since. There is no McGeady ect transfer windfall to balance the books this year, despite NL openly stating at press conferences that at least 4 of his player must be in the 10 million pound "bracket" this year to try and generate sales. So in my opinion things are not as rosey as the board like to feed to their fans.

Agree2 Disagree2

Hoodbhoy do you have inside info to back your claims ? Word on the street is that celtic owe dd at least 10 million, which he would want back one day, whilst you are being spoon fed all this c**p ask yourself this one question. where is all this money Celtic keep telling us about ?.

Agree0 Disagree1

Celtic turnover 2011 - £52.6 Million.
Rangers turnover first 6 months 2011 - £33.7 Million.
Celtic wage bill 2010 - £36.5 Million.
Rangers wage bill 2010 - £21 Million.

Its not hard to work out who is heading in the right direction financially and who isnt bears.

Ritchie712

Agree1 Disagree0

Michael uchebo? dont think he knocked us back, the guys a mercenary whos looking for a lot more than hes worth, you cant knock back something thats not offered to you! thats why rangers papped him back on the next available flight! all im saying is if im a player and looking at getting to one of the big 2 in scotland then it would be celtic, as rangers are skint, awaiting outcome of a possible crippling tax case and an owner that has failed on his promises and conducts his business in a very dodgy manner! Willybhoy

Agree1 Disagree0

Dont talk shyte Ritchie its not as if as its an optional thing. Rangers have had no choice but to cut the wage bill.

You can see the Celtic accounts as they have been published.

Celtic's squad is too big but there are a few high earners out of contract in the summer: Loovens, Maj, Cha, Wilson etc which will lower the wage bill dramatically.

I think its fairly amusing that Rangers fans are coming on here and accusing Celtic of financial mis-management.

Agree2 Disagree1

Word on the street! are you having a laugh? word on edmiston dr is brace yourselves its a nightmare!

Agree1 Disagree0

Looks like i was right all along! so to the two posters that said i was wrong, how do u feel now? Willybhoy

So at home to one of the worst form teams in the league tomorrow, looks like big Healy upfront on his own? Doesn't fill you with much confidence! I think we need a striker badly, how can people say they wouldn't take big boydy back? We could do with him tomorrow that's for sure!

Believable12 Unbelievable6

We shouldn't of let wee fleck go on loan!

Only have 1 Striker fit

Agree11 Disagree10

After watching Healy recently I'd rather leave him on the bench and bring McCoist on in place of him, couldn't be any worse. He's a dud, always was and always will be. Done nowt at his previous clubs.
Get Kerkar on, he'll do the biz, trust me.

Boyd turns down USA Move!
Quoted I'm not ready for that type of move at my time of life.
If I was a betting man he shall be wearing the Royal Blue
Jersey very very shortly!! Also Fact David Murray back at Murray Park for meeting with Ally!! What's going on with Mr Murray??????

Believable7 Unbelievable11

God only knows what happening with SDM, it could have been a innocent meeting, but knowing some people will put 2 + 2 together and come up with 7

Agree5 Disagree3

Murray owns murray park prob just a chat , if i was ally id of smacked him square on the chin for dropping him in the s**t

Agree3 Disagree5

For christ sake it was a scheduled appointment. Why add lies to a story

Agree5 Disagree1

Murray had a meeting with the club doc. graeme

Agree5 Disagree3

Your a bit late with this news.

Agree2 Disagree1

Who's added lies

Agree3 Disagree0

Murray never went to MP for medicals, the Doctors went to him. Strange things going on

Agree5 Disagree2

Have you forgotten that it is Sir D M that has put us in this position, why would you even mention his name, and to suggest that he should come back, has he not done enough damage?

Agree2 Disagree2

27 Jan 2012 21:56:45
Ed ( got a txt from my mate today saying David Murray taking back over Rangers as Whyte isn't doing what he promised. He went on to say it's a clause which was agreed when Whyte took over that's why he got it for £1.You heard anything.

Believable11 Unbelievable12

Would'nt be surprised

Agree4 Disagree5

You would think Murray would of put something in their contract? Surely he didn't just give CW the club an that's that? Bloody hope he never

Agree6 Disagree2

Not a chance. Why would David Murray get back into something he's been desperate to get out of for 6 years.

Agree8 Disagree2

Murray wanted to sell because of the tax case, why would he get it back now even if he could, when the tax case is still not resolved. One dose of Murray is enough thanks, please remember it is him that has put us in this position. Should be being lambasted for his handling, not welcomed back

Agree4 Disagree3

David murrays companies as i'm sure ur all aware have been recession hit and he is no longer worth hundreds of millions so talk of him coming back is just nonsense. u have a short memory, this guy is the reason we are in the mess we're in!

Agree6 Disagree2

He always quoted that he would only sell to the right man.

Agree3 Disagree0

Perhaps agreed that whyte would take over during the tax case and slash costs everywhere and put club into admin if case lost. Then Murry would buy back at a profit to whyte if tax case won?
I would guess not though seems far too far fetched and illogical.
More likely he had a doctors appointment.
But it's cause we a goan bust an losing all our titles you know.

Agree3 Disagree1

People go on about short memories, David Murray put us in this situation etc yes he probably did but I don't think deliberately. No one one complaining or predicting the future was going to go in recession during the good times of world class players, world class training facilities the stadium getting corners filled in and screens added. All of which made us a great club in Everyones eyes. Then recession hit like every walk of life. I think people should look at what he done for this great club and maybe look at the positives when thinking of sir David Murray. I'm sure if he could have predicted the future he'd had done everything a little different but would we as rangers FANS have been happy. Probably not. Rangers have given us great times and great bragging rights over Celtic through the years. Let's remember them and back them now when they need the support more than ever. I'm not saying back whyte. So come todays game why not stand up and be counted instead of waiting for a Celtic game to be the twelfth man. It's about time we started supporting the team again. If the streets be broad or narrow we shall follow on. Have a think lads.

Agree4 Disagree0

Well said!!! Let's makes some noise at the game today. Even in the club deck! Lol

Agree1 Disagree0

MIH are around 700m in debt and lloyds are running the show like they did with rangers why would murray jump in now? makes no sense

Agree0 Disagree1

27 Jan 2012 21:17:42
Before Michael Uchebo came to Rangers, he went to Celtic!

You had a bid knocked back! kept that one quiet boys.

sport.stv.tv/football/scottish-premier/celtic/295318-celtic-deny-vvv-venlo-claim-over-michael-uchebo/

Believable6 Unbelievable8

Probably true my friend no shame there ,difference is we can afford a transfer fee/contract
Hoodbhoy

Agree3 Disagree4

It was his agent that was trying to tout flog him to us for more money and we were not interested

Agree3 Disagree2

27 Jan 2012 21:16:57
Boydy should come back must be worth a punt what's the worst that would happen he turns out a dud like Ortiz Healy Beattie McKay

Believable8 Unbelievable9

McKay hasnt had a chance and Healy has been good recently

Agree5 Disagree8

Healy has been good? wot planet u on? obv you dont go to games

Agree1 Disagree0

Bet all you anti Boyd boys wish he was there today seen we have no body up front Healy is hopeless

Agree0 Disagree0

Healy doesn't know the offside rule caught all the time and if mervan and aluko get good balls in Boyd would finish better and more than healy

Believable6 Unbelievable13

Can only say that I can't see any truth what so ever in this

Agree10 Disagree3

Got to say Gordon smith is the last guy I would send to meet a potential buyer.guys a zoomed.mcoll isn't going to buy us.

Agree10 Disagree2

Funny enough i dropped my son and his pals off at the secc earlier and im certain gordon smith and i take it his wife/partner were walking in to watch Snow Patrol

Agree4 Disagree3

So smudgers capable of selling a football club now ? Pure fantasy !

Agree5 Disagree1

More likely He is in Edinburgh to meet oconners representatives as a back up if jelivic goes, it was a taxi driver who said he saw him no mention of buyer I listened to the show as well

Dannager4life

Agree4 Disagree2

Whats it to do with G smith, he should not even be at Rangers, don't you think the buyer would be better talking to whyte

Agree4 Disagree0

Thats not what said, the caller said Gordon Smith and two photographers was seen in the Caladonian Hotel, a couple of min later some guy said he phoned the hotel asking to speak to Gordon Smith for Glasgow Rangers and was told he was in a meeting, do you really think a staff member in the hotel would even say that he's in a meeting. Nothing was said about Jim McColl, for god sake we cant even get a rumour right

Agree5 Disagree2

Why the hell would gordon smith be in a meeting concerning the sale of rangers

how many straws can be clutched?

you lot are different class, i'll give you that lol!

taco

Agree5 Disagree2

He's in edinburgh opening the hotels new sunbed section.green jhedi

Agree3 Disagree0

Send in dorin goian for talks! he will come striding out having got potential buyers to invest 300 mil and he will run the club and slam the revolving door on the way out!

Agree3 Disagree1

Haha, great story. Since Im a manager at the cally, i find it hard that i would not know he was coming in. BS story guys!

Agree3 Disagree1

Haha, great story. Since Im a manager at the cally, i find it hard that i would not know he was coming in. BS story guys!

thank god that a manager of the cally was on rangers rumours then to let us know the rumour is a load of nonsense, cheers mr manager of the cally

Agree1 Disagree0

That you Terry Butcher the manager of the Cally ?

Agree0 Disagree0

Let me guess we will know in 48 hrs hahahha

Agree0 Disagree0

I have a job (manager at cally) just like you (might) have a job, does me having a job there mean i should not come on here? I usually come on here for a laugh to see who we are "linked" with fyi

Only 1 player with possibility of moving on contract with fee, jelavic , there are possibly 3 possibly 4 other squad players with possibility of loan movement out of Murray park not all household names either, there are also more trialsit's due to Murray park before deadline day as ally is taking the chance to decide which players so
far have impressed and worth ONLY a short term deal

Believable2 Unbelievable2

Tourist industry in Glasgow must love rangers with all these foreigners coming in for day trips.

So far tonight Jellyfish been seen in Glasgow, Manchester, London and boarding a plane to Moscow.

He gets around in one night

Believable13 Unbelievable1

Haha superjellyman wish he was that quick at playing football he would be worth alot more than £8m

Agree9 Disagree0

Apparently he got a flight from glasgow to manchester and then was going to get a flight to moscow but that was delayed, he drove to london and got a flight from there x

Agree0 Disagree4

Not bad for a guy with a dose of the s**ts

Agree7 Disagree0

Yet he was seen boarding a flight in Manchester going to Moscow, flights from Manchester to moscow fly out in the morning out at night, plus if he was flying to Moscow why not fly straight from Glasgow

Agree1 Disagree0

He was at an airport but decided to drive to London.

Agree2 Disagree0

He must be using santas sleigh lol./biggles

Just been speaking with an old neighbour of mine in Gidea Park (just outside Romford), who used to play for West Ham and is still connected to the club.

Rangers have agreed a deal with West Ham to sell Jelavic.

Rangers want the transfer completed on Sunday which West Ham have agreed to as West Ham's next game is not until Tuesday. West Ham only agreed if Rangers didn't play Jelavic this Saturday against Hibs.

Believable8 Unbelievable12

Liar don't come on this do you think we are gonna believe you ? No one believes any one mate yous are all wasting yer time saying yous know people fay rangers or someone related to thum cause way don't believe yea man !!

Agree6 Disagree2

Total cr@p... Plz go to sleep and dream about something else u plonker

Agree6 Disagree1

Hahaa just to let any1 know players know about as much as we do about transfers! they know nothing and no names of ur so called neighbour?

Agree4 Disagree0

Your old neighbours talking "jimmy White"

Agree5 Disagree0

The poster didn't say anything about knowing someone from Rangers.

I hope to god more than anyone this is wrong, so don't shoot the messenger. Got a message from a friend saying we have lost the tax case and will fold, start up under a different name and Jim McColl will invest at that point

Believable8 Unbelievable12

Another rubbish comment, McColl already said the he's got no interest in buying over Rangers last year.

Agree9 Disagree3

The tax case decision hasn't been made yet. It will be in the public domain when it has

Agree6 Disagree0

I got a message from a friend who wants me to invest in a African bank to triple my money in one week!!

Agree9 Disagree1

Is your friend one of the tribunal judges?

Agree3 Disagree0

Maybe he meant Jim Mcoll of the beechgrove garden!

Agree5 Disagree0

Load a p'sh, once again i feel sorry for the ED having to go through all these bullsh't posts, ed.....said before and will say again i tip my hat to you!! {Ed014's Note - Thank you.Nice to hear a bit of appreciation compared to what we usually get.

Agree2 Disagree0

Heard that one aswell from someone who works with Rangers murray would not sell to him unless he bought MIM aswell.

Agree0 Disagree2

As I said I hope this is not true. This is about rumours and I heard a rumour. No one more than me hope's this is b-ll-cks.

Agree1 Disagree1

Jelavic knows hes more likely to get into a better team or get a better offer in the next transfer window because he knows he can show off more talent with croatia than rangers (croatia play 100x better football). its in his best interests to stay here until the next season begins because his good performance in the euros will get him more wages and a bigger team to play for in the EPL.

Believable5 Unbelievable3

He rarely starts for croatia.

Agree5 Disagree1

Trouble is he is 3rd choice striker.

Agree4 Disagree2

I think he will get played alot actually, when u look at their strikers, if he plays consistantly well for rangers towards the end of the season he will get started alot.

Agree1 Disagree6

No chance he will play before olic petric or eduardo

Agree3 Disagree3

He has only scored 2 goals for Croatia and both were in friendlys , I hardly think he is on fire for his country .
CelticMatt

Agree2 Disagree3

Olic doesnt even get in the lineup for some crazy reason, petric is s**t enough now that jelavic on form is better than him

Agree0 Disagree2

Croatia play with a target man and a nippy striker.
Mandžukic is the target man and he is a lot better than Jelly, only 25 as well so apart from injuries to this guy Jelavic isnt going to get a look in.

businessman jim mccoll awaiting tax outcome before showing his cards. this was mentioned on the radio where the journalists said they are aware of the rumour and would not be surprised if he steps in.

Believable5 Unbelievable4

More nonsense, the tax case will result in massive liabilities for RFC. McColl has already said that at best he would be willing to help structure a share issue for fans. there wont be a fairy godfather I guess it's time for the fans to step up

Agree5 Disagree2

No doubt those that worship at the altar of the RFC Tax Case Blog will pray this is a 'tame' media spin, but I thought the comments by Hugh Keevins & Jim Delahunt were interesting. There was an implication that Mr McColl might pick the pieces if the tax case forces the club into administration.

Gives hope of possibilities through these difficult times and will send the crowers from the east into a frenzy as they call for the Gers to be deducted, in the interest of fairness you understand, 20 points a season for the next 50 years.

Agree4 Disagree0

This info came from a glasgow cabbie - enough said.

Agree3 Disagree1

This is unsubstantiated rubbish! Jim McColl has already stated that he has no interest in investing. Why on earth would he?...because he' s a "True Blue"? Utter balls...the mans a huge success in terms of business, and what we are asking someone to do is take anything between £50-£100 million! and basically set alight to it...because thats where the scottish game is right now...give it 5years the entire SPL will be part time!

Agree4 Disagree4

An implication - oh it must be true, quakeing in my shoes NOT.

Just remember, Celtic alreday have 5 multi millionaires on their board.

cska moscow willing to pay 8 mill for jelavic

Believable5 Unbelievable8

27 Jan 2012 18:46:19
CSKA Moscow to move in for Jelavic with an £8m bid soon.

thoughts?

Believable4 Unbelievable8

If we are going to sell him, I'd rather they did it now and not latter.
I wouldn't have thought he would jump at the chance to go to Russia, but I suppose money talks.

Agree2 Disagree0

My thoughts are this is more propaganda, CW will sell Jelavic on the last day probably for about £5 million max

Agree2 Disagree5

Claros has returned to Honduras after his club was informed RFC were not in a position to pay any transfer fee

If he did mate it must have been late last night as i saw him with izzy at 4 pm in asda milngavie

Rangers will make a last minute move to sign Kris Boyd. (Although he's lazy with the service of Wallace, Davis and Aluko he'd be banging in the goals.

Dave.

Believable7 Unbelievable10

Not got a club could sign him after January so it won't be last min could get him any time

Agree3 Disagree0

I can't remember the last time I saw Wallace put a decent ball into the box.
If you think Boyd was fat and lazy when he left, after not having played for months, you can imagine what he is like now.
What we are missing up front is pace and Boyd sure as hell ain't gonna give you that.

Agree5 Disagree2

No what were missing is goals not pace you can run as fast as u want all day it wont win u a game goals win

Agree4 Disagree0

What service, our midfield are dreadful as a creative unit. They cannot even provide good crosses and good passes to Jelavic who is a much better striker.

Agree1 Disagree0

27 Jan 2012 18:08:54
More lies from McCoist its wearing pretty thin now, Jelavic not playing as he has played his last game for the club. NO ONE else will come in, Celik the only arrival for us. All the trialists are just smoke and mirrors to try to please us and when Jela goes last min all the excuses will be rolled out. I personally dont blame McCoist but its maybe time he grew a set and told the truth.

Believable14 Unbelievable6

Agree mate Ally seems to have no option but to tell fairy tales for Whyte and Smith who want to buy and pick the players Ally has to work with.

Agree7 Disagree3

Here goes, no Jelavic tomorrow, gives us the chance to prove we will survive, and even prosper without Jelavic, good player that he is,we need to move on if he leaves, other players have to up their game,i still fancy a Gers win, albeit, hard fought .

Agree7 Disagree3

Does whyte really expect us to fall for the "sold last minute" excuse?

Agree3 Disagree0

See the pitbull Claris away back home too, gers didn't know about his 800 k fee ,

Agree4 Disagree1

Your still 2nd even with jelavic, cant use that as an excuse when the league gone!!

Agree2 Disagree3

Gers didnt know they would have to pay for a player?

Agree2 Disagree0

Wow!gordon smith sure is a great director of football operations.well worth the money in these austere times.

Agree2 Disagree2

Whyte doesnt care whether we buy the " last minute sale" thing or not, for some reason he holds us in contempt. He should maybe start to realise we are all in this together and a bit of honesty and respect towards us would go a long way. If he just came out and said due to current circumstances we cant sign anyone as we cant put the long term future of the club into jeopardy, at least we could understand . 1 or 2 seasons without silverware (although not ideal) is a lot better than no club or even a club with a different name. The others had many a season without a trophy but they came through it, it is our turn now and we WILL come through it.

Ed whats the scoop with jaager, claros and bruins? not heard anything in a few days. everyone's raving about bruins on forums but i dont think we need another midfielder. i'd say our priorities should be removing the dead wood, (broadfoot, mackay, bedoya, ortiz) to free up wages and maybe bring in a few boys in the summer if we've any money. still Ed whats the latest? {Ed014's Note - Claros has went home,so has Jaager.Bruins is still here as far as I know.

Believable3 Unbelievable7

All the misgivings about whyte have com home to roost. he s giving ally nowt to spend and jelly will be gone by wed

Agree5 Disagree1

Why disagree?

Claros went home today, Jaager has gone home, so are you only disagreeing about Bruins? or are you just a f***y

Agree3 Disagree5

^ im not a f**nny, i just think that the fact we have a 35 man squad and a queue of midfielders ie mckay bedoya ortiz jig hutton ness, all waiting to get into the central mid role and i dont think we need any more tbh

Agree4 Disagree1

Ed thought i read yesterday or day before bruins was away i think to middlesbourgh {Ed014's Note - Isn't that a basketball team? The Boro Bruins?

I'm delighted to see that Brian Laudrup will be playing in the legends match against AC Milan on the 30th March! Great player and fantastic to hear he is feeling well and fit enough to play!

GovanFR

Believable13 Unbelievable3

Im a celtic fan and Laudrup is one of my favorite all time players, class personified!! was a pleasure to see him playing in scotland even though it was in the wrong shirt. Class man Class act and i am betting he still hasnt lost anything! i rekon he could still come and walk into

Good news to see he is fighting fit and ready to take part in this game!

I think Jela did not play for Rapid just before he came to us because he wanted to move, funny that he not at training after we turn down The Hammers offer

Believable10 Unbelievable4

Totally agree remember he engineered the move to Ibrox with a view to eventually getting a move to EPL. I dont think West ham is his desired destination but Liverpool not interested. If Jellyfish is not well and unable to play on Saturday I feel a bit of Deja Vue coming on he knows something we dont of course The Whyte Knight will know not sure if Coisty does

Agree9 Disagree1

And he's out of tomorrows game. Who didnt see that coming?

Agree9 Disagree1

Well when he did it to Rapid he came out publicly to say he wanted away so I don't think that's the case and tbh I think ally was generally talking truth to the press :-P but only time will tell

If an offer of 7 million was actually made then we were daft not to accept it and give Ally something, no matter how little, to work with. Lets not forget Jelavic cost 4 million 18 months ago when he played in Austria, i don't see Scotland being a huge step up from the Austrian league so an increase in valuation from 4 million to 10 million after 18 months isn't justified imo. Don't get me wrong the guy has ability but guys like Defoe and Crouch go for around 10 million down south and they are established EPL goalscorers. I would much rather see us go and bring in another striker from the SPL like Johnny Russell or Jamie Murphy who would give us 100% rather than keep hold of a player that didn't want to be here. What we lose in quality, we'd make up for in effort. Plus we have Celik (or Mervan) to come in maybe he can do us a turn.
J1985

Believable7 Unbelievable6

Well made point. Newcastle have just brought in Papiss Demba Cisse for £9m and Man Utd brought Hernandez for £6m. Clubs are looling for value for money and £10m for Jelavic isn't that. He has no pace, something that EPL clubs want.

Agree10 Disagree4

I see ur logic but Jelavic was "cutprice" and has improved so i say that trouble his price

Agree3 Disagree6

Listen we all new the trouble we were in we should of sold jelavic for 9mill wen it was offered in the summer - we no he ain't worth more we new he wasn't going to get another contract so as time goes by his price goes down( unless his forms great which it ain't) it's just another example of the tools we have at the club doing bains job. Say what you want about Bain but if he was still here we'd be in much better shape in these windows

Agree4 Disagree3

I agree with the person that commented before, as a Newcastle fan as well as Rangers Fan, yea that's what the premier league needs

Agree1 Disagree2

I agree, Jelavic does not have pace and he always put out a live advertisement to EPL clubs when we were in europe that he struggled I know it's not just on him we went out but he did have a few clear cut chances and in europe that's all you get.

Agree3 Disagree1

9 million you were offered in the summer? Even daily record journalists know that never happened.

Ally Mccoist "no moves imminent, still has targets in mind" Source Rangers.co.uk

Tell us the truth Mr Whyte, no signings, no money. We deserve to be told!

Believable11 Unbelievable2

Just tell us the truth, who exactly is in charge of transfer decisions. The policy in the summer was a joke/the club with all the so called trialist's reporting to Murray Park is a real concern and as the customer the club should refrain from trying to pull the wool over our eyes,we are entitled as the paying customer,to know the truth.

Agree7 Disagree1

I was looking forward to us getting some new signings but the way it's going we will end up after the transfer window closes we will have one signing but we'll have LOOKED AT A LOT OF PLAYERS WE WON'T SIGN that's the way to go eh?

Agree5 Disagree1

Once the tax debate is sorted and the bill's are paid, then we can start building again. Everybody seems tae forget, mr whyte is left to sort David Murray tax bill and lawyer bills.

Agree3 Disagree3

But Whyte might just want to wait until the end of this court case before he invests a Huge fund to a transfer. You need to understand we are just fans he's a business man risking his own name and money cut him some stick the now at lease until after the court case, yes?

so with Jela out, Naismith, Lafferty, who is going to play up front tomorrow? Healy the onlt striker left, unless Jig goes back to centre forward
s-bear

Believable2 Unbelievable5

Wont be any different for a few weeks afterwards as well as Jelavic will go we will bring no one in but still be expected to win the league worst transfer policy despite lack of funds in many a year, what next an advert like Clyde a season ago for open trials for anyone who thinks they are good enough to report to Murray Park

Agree3 Disagree1

Was always on the cards as it is the one and most important area of the team where we have been short in numbers since the start of the season, which prompts the question just why did the club continue to sign wide players at the start of the season (who dont get a game and ignore the main striking area)

Agree2 Disagree0

I think we will line up 4-5-1 tomorrow

healy upfront

with wylde and aluko on the wings, and edu, mcculloch and davis centre

davis sitting right behind healy to link up and edu and mcculloch playing the holding roles.

Agree4 Disagree5

And our chairman who made the promise of cash up front when he bought the club, will still expect us to win the league despite the lack of goalscorers/and lack of finance is not the only excuse/a better choice of player than Ortiz and Bedoya in terms of ability and positionally could have solved the shortage in the striking positions

Agree1 Disagree3

Mervan celick

Can Celick play before rangers have paid for him? {Ed014's Note - Yes.The money has to be paid within 30 days of him signing.

I would quite happily see the
transfer window close next week
with the following happening:

out: (5)

Jelavic £8m
Weir Free
Fleck Loan
Ortiz Loan
McKay Loan

Total £8m

In (6)

Celik £0.2m (compensation)
Guerra £2m
Salihi £0.4m
Brozek loan
Bruins Free
Jaager Free

Total 2.6m

Profit £5.4m

Ah you never know it could happen!

Believable7 Unbelievable9

It won't be profit mate Vienna are owed money from transfer and % sell on fee I'm afraid.

Agree7 Disagree12

Profit will be less than three million sadly. Nice to see a more positively thought out post though!

Full marks buddy

Jamie Mac

Agree3 Disagree5

Thats what i like to see a guy with a sense of reality, we will not be buying anyone worth alot of money and we should gat rid of the dead wood, although i will admit i know not a thing about these guys we are being connected with but that does not mean they are not good players obviously

Agree2 Disagree1

Vienna have received the full fee from rangers, this was confirmed a couple of months ago. And there is no % sell on clause either

Agree9 Disagree6

There is no sell on fee for jela, dont listen to all these idiots who think they know the players contract, they dont! smith said when he signed him in 2010 that the deal was help up because rapid wanted a sell on clause and rangers were not going to entertain that idea. If jela goes which i dont think he will tbh, we will get all the money from his transfer as profit, however, if we sign these players u mentioned, besides from being disappointed in the calibire of player we are signing, the profit would be very little once signing fees, agent fees etc come off they transfers

Agree4 Disagree5

Can't see anywhere that Vienna said that. All they said was that the late payment had been made,no outstanding issues. All that means is at that time the payments were upto date.

Agree2 Disagree2

Guerra is valued at 2.5 million

Agree4 Disagree1

I would defo settle for that but our transfer dealings have been a shambles and as the clock ticks on I have a horrible feeling we are all going to be disappointed come the end of the window, really hope I'm wrong tho.

Agree2 Disagree0

Correct Jels connections with Rapid are no more i wish people would stop saying we owe them money we dont! Although I agree with your post mate well done. Except remove Guerra for 2m its far too much and Salihi and Brozek will be enough strikers we wont sign 3.

Blue Stu

Agree2 Disagree3

Had to laugh at the last post there, how thick are you?!! "Don't listen to these idiots who think they know the players contracts" Do you know what irony is? And its not what yer mama does to your y-bobs! You are saying YOU know the contract, which ye obviously don't, so you are calling yourself an idiot and telling people not to listen to you!! That, son, is the definition of irony, amongst a host of other things.
So if ye want to call me an idiot - make sure ye understand what you are saying. its just embarrassing

Agree2 Disagree1

I wouldnt buy Guerra but get the rest and maybe Rudnevs instead

Agree1 Disagree1

Yes i agree get Rudnevs also Salihi and Brozek

Agree0 Disagree1

How are yous going to pay these guys you are talking as if you have money in the "warchest" its empty and these trialists are seeing it aswell and heading straight back out the door

Agree1 Disagree0

Wouldn't it be better to see Ness, Hutton, Perry, Wylde and Hemmings play instead of bringing in more mercenaries? And though he is a 'foreigner', what happened to McKay? If man city can keep tevez because nobody wants to buy him then surely The Gers can force Jelavic to stay?

Believable2 Unbelievable8

Are you some sort of @rse. What don't you understand.

Man City are the wealthiest club in the world and can afford to keep Tevez and sell on their terms.

Rangers are in a financial mess and have to sell Jelavic to provide cash flow for the club until the summer.

Agree11 Disagree3

Somehow i dont think whytes got that kinda money.but who has! i admire citys stance on this but you need limitless funds n thats what they got. green jhedi

Agree6 Disagree2

Tevez will go in the summer when he's eligible to play Champions League football. No point in big clubs shelling out £25m now when he can't play for them in the Champion League.

Agree1 Disagree2

Been on BBC that they are trying to Sue him for the the amount his transfer fee has dropped good as he is acting like a Moody spoiled little bratty. He is the footballing version of an investment banker! Btw not comparing him to jella as jella is not good enough to act like that t**t :)

Agree3 Disagree2

Here Here, Mancini should make tevez work in the Canteen or Clean Silva's Boots.
As it was said a few weeks back. Billy Sharp payed 3 days after the death of his son for Doncaster Rovers and Scored. Tevez who is on £120K per week refused to play... What a W*nker

Or maybe he IS the virus !! time he was off the payroll once and for all, give us a chance to try planning ahead without him

Agree7 Disagree3

Listen folks weather he is or isnt going lets just support the players in a difficult time, we still need points and goals and if he aint playing then it is the responsibility of the chosen striker or strikers to find the net, obviously some help from midfield wouldnt go a miss as well, just saying that i dont want him to go but if he does we still have work to do and alot of it.

Agree2 Disagree2

I think some of you would do good to remember Jelavic has not once asked for a transfer, We are trying to make money out of him due to financial situation. The guy has been a good buy for us and helped win us the league last year, so give the guy a break and support the team. WATP

Agree2 Disagree4

Jelavic not asked for a transfer. Give us a break. He's done the next best thing and went about it sneakily. Saying Man U were after him in the summer for £13m (chortle, chortle) and now using his father to link him with Liverpool. I'd respect him more if he was honest and admitted he wants a move.

Agree3 Disagree0

27 Jan 2012 12:34:21
This is what they think of your £10 million pound man in England.

I know what Rangers value him at. But whether they get anywhere near that is another matter.
'I would be surprised if anybody paid that much and were not very impressed, if I'm honest. We watched him for a few weeks and he didn't seem much to write home about.'

Ian

Believable10 Unbelievable11

That was only the unemployed Neil warnock's opinion NOT all of England , typical Celtic fans exaggeration.

Agree15 Disagree9

Every honest rangers fan(and i'm 1) doesn't rate jelavic at 10 million but we need every last penny we can possibly get from the deal. and if any fans believe for 1 second that ally will get any of that to reinvest, think again. it will only free up a wage to bring in someone.

Agree12 Disagree1

Correct me if I am wrong no name but when I went to School we're and we were plural.

Im a big fan of Jelavic,But He aint worth 10 million.I'll be very suprised If we get that for him.

Agree7 Disagree10

It's cska Moscow n it's 8m not 9

Agree4 Disagree2

And its Euros !!!!!!!!

Agree4 Disagree3

I think im missing the point here, whether we think 8 - 9 million or not is it not more important that if he's going no matter the fee would it not be better for ally if he goes before the window closes, or are we not gonna re-invest anything.
by the way i think jela in the right team would command much more than 10 million no probs ayeeee:)

Agree5 Disagree1

Just coz the times says it dosnt make it true

Agree5 Disagree0

The way i see it, if u want to buy a player and bring him into your market, then you must be willing to pay your market price, now in england 10m for jella is about right, if jella played with newcastle for instance and liverpool wanted him, they would pay about 18m... so why should scottish teams sell on the cheap? i have never understood this, for years and years english teams come up here and take our best players for pennys, and then 10 games in their value doubles to the epl value... well now it ends, and im glad CW is not budging over the price, you want him, pay up or shut up. Great stuff

Agree4 Disagree2

Jelavic is a decent player thts it some fans overrate him because hestands out alongside the likes of healy and lafferty but thte truth is if whyte was to get 7-8 million for him tht wood be a great piece of business imo
davie c

Agree4 Disagree0

Why is everyone saying that jelavic isn't worth 10m? If celtic think that hooper is worth well over 10m then surely jelavic is too. They have identical stats. And with better players i think jelavic would be a good signing for any team in the higher position in the epl. Is everyone telling me that grant holt is a better all round player than jelavic? No chance and he is playing for a team that is 8/9th in the epl.

Big sqaash.

Agree1 Disagree1

Neither is worth 10 but Celtic can afford to ask for it, Rangers cant.

Rangers are desperate to sell because they need the money, why else would they have hired an agent to pimp him around any club who can afford him?

Every club knows this so they will wait and take him at a knock down price at the end of the window.

And before you start it has already been confirmed that they hired an agent to try and sell him.

Convinced Ally will walk

Believable11 Unbelievable6

I have stated time and again that this is coisty's dream job and he won't just walk. however i think that the poor guy is not enjoying the job and would not be surprised if he resigns. ally was fully aware of the situation before taking the hotseat but things seem to be going from bad to worse. when u have someone trying to interfere with your position and decisions being made that are out of your control then it can only end badly.

Agree11 Disagree0

Think that's a bit off a cop out mate. The fact off the matter is,we had a massive lead over Celtic & we through it away. Now that aint Craig Whyte's fault. The buck stops with the manager & the players.Mccoist is a legend to me,but he looks like he hasn't got a clue half the time.

Agree8 Disagree4

The big picture here is that McCoist has lost his most influential player and not just him but the players dont seem to be able to step up, am not saying am totally happy with the manager at times but the players themselves have alot to answer for.

Uchebo's Rangers trial ends in confusion
Posted: 2012-01-27 13:34

Michael Uchebo's trial at Glasgow Rangers came to an end after just one day, with conflicting reports from the player, his club VV Venlo and Rangers.

The Nigerian arrived in Glasgow on Wednesday hoping for a five-day trial, and took part in his first session at Murray Park on Thursday.

But that was to be his last.

His agent Tony Harris claims the player cut short his trial due to a poor first impression of the club, but Rangers claim manager Ally McCoist was not impressed and will not sanction a move.

"Michael was invited to come over by Ally McCoist," Harris told reporters. "When he got there, McCoist wasn't there.

"Michael didn't enjoy his Rangers experience. He didn't feel at home and wasn't comfortable.

"The player informed Rangers he didn't want to return to training. Michael will now look at other options."

But other reports claim it was McCoist's decision to turn down the player after one day of training.

And in a further twist, Venlo's Managing Director Hans Soentjens told reporters the club had reached a verbal agreement for a £1m transfer for the big forward.

"Rangers really really want him.

"We have reached a verbal agreement with them over a price. We are simply awaiting the outcome of a medical before completing the deal."

Uchebo, who played for Enugu Rangers two seasons ago, currently earns £8000 a week at Venlo and is looking to improve those earnings.

Believable3 Unbelievable1

Our scouting team and transfer policy are a complete joke. I know we have no money, but why look at these guys if we are never going to follow it up? Odonkor, Abelairas, the Indian strikers, Jaager, Claros, Bruins, Muslimovic, Uchebo, Sandaza, Murphy, Vardy, Davidson, Verhoek, Juhasz...that's 15 I can remember off the top of my head...How many more are we going to "seriously" be interested in between now and Feb 1st?

uchebo cuts short his trial at rangers because of first impression of club he didnt like it and dosent feel he is wanted ally mccoist wasnt even there to greet him just start to fink was it allys choice to take him or someone elses?ally has to start giving the fans some answers and start telling us the truth or he should walk.

Believable4 Unbelievable1

I blame Ally for the crap football (but Walter Smith was his mentor so not really a surprise). But these tranfser fiascos seem to come from over his head so I feel a bit sorry for him having to put his name to this never ending list of has beens and under acheivers, having said that if he had played McKay, Bedoya etc maybe Whyte and G Smith would see what you get in the "bargain" basement of football, BTW where are Whyte and G Smith ? they're unusually quiet considering all this transfer activity

Rangers take Michael Uchebo on week long trial with view to a 1million deal with his club VVV-Venlo
6'7" powerful and skillful 20 year old, could be a good buy but have they any money?
maybe this is the 1mill ally gets out of the 1mill we will get for the jellyman....

What you talkin about you idiot could thid be the 1 million we get for jelavic we have already had an offer of 5 times that amount so that was a completeley pointless and stupid post.

Agree2 Disagree3

Yes but ally will be be lucky to see more than 1 million of it for a replacement , think before you post .fab1

just read that there is a fee agreed for this deal two go threw if player impresses Glasgow Rangers have been tracking Uchebo for a while and have decided to pounce since he will be out of contract at the end of this season.
Also, a transfer fee less than £1 million has been agreed between VVV-Venlo and Rangers for the 21-year-old forward in case he impresses the Ibrox chief.
The possibility of a deal for Uchebo is also tied to securing a work permit. and there linked with kalu uche aswel both nigerian.

Can someone please tell me why we have this hondurian guy on trial at ibrox?. His manager said they would want 800000 pnds for us to get him , so why bother?. I am getting really sick of all these trialists coming and going everyday, then when mcoist finds one that's any good (jageer), we can't afford the 3500 a week he's looking for. Pennyboy

Believable9 Unbelievable2

If we can't afford to pay a player 3.5k pw then we are DOOMED!

get rid of jelavic for £8m+, get boyd and hamdi salihi, bags of goals between them. get that uchebo guy who is on trial as he is big, strong and young. start involving youth more ( mccabe etc. ) and get rid of dead wood such as broadfoot, healy, ortiz etc thereby freeing up wages for WHEN we win the tax case and mr whyte gets his chance to prove himself.

Believable9 Unbelievable8

Uchebo's away he never returned to trainin as he wasn't impressed with what he saw

Agree3 Disagree2

Thats uchebo cut short his trial today as well theres obviously something very wrong going on if two players have decided to end it after only one day maybe they fot the impression we had no intention of making the moves permanent and are using them to make it look like we are trying to get players in to apease our long suffering fans.

What would you consider a "win" in the tax case? green jhedi

A some which rangers can handle, that would allow the team to start progressing as normal again would be good enough for me.

Dtp89: thnx mate. what sort of figure you thinking? they deffo owe 2.1 + 1.4 so if they win all penalties n fines that might be the number.would whyte pay3.5m green jhedi

Cska Moscow are gonna table a 9 million bid for jelly.

News now

Believable3 Unbelievable7

Why would they, when there are no other serious bides beyond (at the extreme end of believability) £7m. This is CW spin!

Agree4 Disagree1

Somebody better fone london n tell him! green jhedi

Agree3 Disagree1

If that is true i hope we have his replacement lined up, at that sort of money he will be O F F
100% profit is a too good a return on any investment to turn down
Would be interesting to see how much of that would be commited to buying another sriker as well and it would put an end to all the garbage that is flying around about CW's commitment one way or another
Notice i said would, as this is just a rumour

Ed wats ur opinion on the McKay situation... Have him an coisty fell out ? {Ed001's Note - I don't know mate, I have been trying to find out what the hell has happened there. I believe he would have been on the bench regularly but for the age ruling, that is apparently the reason he kept getting left out. But it seems he wants to play, not just sit around collecting pay packets, McCoist isn't of the opinion he is the right player. The rumour I was told, but I am not sure I believe it, is that he was bought to replace Davis, who was expected to be sold but the deal never materialised. So the club got stuck with both, though Ally only needed and wanted one.}

Believable3 Unbelievable3

Thanks ... Most reasonable reason I've heard anyway.. {Ed001's Note - yeah, but I get the impression it was a rumour made up to suit someone's theory, rather than based on any evidence. So I am extremely dubious about it.}

Agree2 Disagree0

Least it's semi rational.. Although don't think we got any bids for Davis that I can mind anyway. You would think the club would say it's not like we are shy about airing our not dirty but filthy laundry these days ! Paulmac

Agree1 Disagree0

Would it not be an idea to rest davis as he aint playing that well to see if indeed mckay can fill his boots ?

Agree4 Disagree0

The rumours doesn't make sense. Surely with the team being threadbare Ally would've liked to have both in case of injuries?

Agree3 Disagree0

As a celtic fan i heard the davis rumour when mckay was bought.it was concerning aston villa, then mcleish was told they had no cash either. green jhedi

We are currently in talks with trabzonspor for polish striker pavel broznek , also jelavic has sounded out salihi about joining us , unfortunately as his replacement . Hutton2

Believable7 Unbelievable4

Sick of hearing about Jelavic, either they sell him or they don't, could get Samuel Eto in for all it matters, we have negative central midfield & wide men who are either full backs or s**te at crossing. For a forward to score he needs supply and none of them (Jelly, Healy, Lafferty) get any decent support. Mckay out as mccoist prefers grinders in midfield, Ortiz & Bedoya just ain't cutting it. Serious doubts about Mccoist for tactics & seems to look after his mates, also heard several times over last few months that Whyte doesn't rate him either, previous board gave him contract, not Whyte & can't attract anyone else in our predicament.

How do you no this ? Did jelly tell ya himself... Pipe dreams
