Is it true Aberdeen are after Naismith and may let McLean go because of this?

26 Jun 2017 23:27:20
So naismiths going from £50 grand a week with a year left on his contract to £4 grand tops with aberdeen, aye right .

27 Jun 2017 07:15:05
I can still see him end up with us.

27 Jun 2017 09:02:03
I would doubt the Aberdeen thing too, would still like us to get him, he can change a game.

27 Jun 2017 12:11:52
Mind you Lafferty is taking a huge wage cut with Hearts, be 4 or 5 thousand.

27 Jun 2017 12:52:07
Lafferty isn't taking a wage cut. he's a free transfer so therefore doesn't have as wage.

27 Jun 2017 13:56:36
So free transfers don't get paid?

27 Jun 2017 15:07:40
Until their contract is up then yes e. g. If Laffable's contract with Norwich runs till June 30th then as of today he's still being paid but after that he's what he deserves to be- unemployed. Sorry never liked him even when he was winning the league for us!

26 Jun 2017 21:17:57
Andy halliday in line for a loan move to fc gabala from azerbaijan according to sun.

26 Jun 2017 14:35:53
Hearing rumbles about loic remy again! Anyone else heard anything?

26 Jun 2017 15:25:13
the guy is on £80k a week where we pulling the cash for his wages. properly our combined wages of the team would be £80k a week. Not a chance in this happening

26 Jun 2017 15:58:38
Ridiculous rumour to be honest. I know we have spent a little more this season, however to be able to afford Loic we'd need to get rid of 14 players purely to afford his wages.

26 Jun 2017 16:15:46
just because he is on 80k a week the now doesn't mean we would be paying that. he's probably got another year left at Chelsea and they might just be cutting their losses and taking whatever they can for him as a loan deal.

however I do agree its very unlikely.

26 Jun 2017 16:20:59
Loic has a year to run on his contract. Chelsea aren't looking to loan him out, they want to sell him.

26 Jun 2017 21:06:29
He's played 37 times in 3 seasons, has an awful injury record and has no sell on value if he is let go on the cheap, NAW.

26 Jun 2017 12:25:14
Ranger will go out for Dorrans this week what will most likely see him signed, Pedro is desperate for him and will bite the bullit and pay what is wanted to get his man, also we are going to go full on to get kenny McLean, as he was a player who trained as a youth and gers have only registerd 23 players out of 25 and to player who come threw the youth ranks short, so McLean would fit that bill,

26 Jun 2017 13:41:49
part of me thinks that why we will keep mckay (if his contract issues can be resolved) . he is a player who we have trained and if we sold he will be a player down for Europe. Does anyone know what the problem was. did we not offer him enough or was he wanting to see what Pedro was all about before signing on the dotted line?

26 Jun 2017 13:59:32
No he wouldn't. He was never a signed professional.

26 Jun 2017 14:54:10
Nothing to do with pro contract its whether he has trained with club for 3 years before age of 21

26 Jun 2017 16:37:25
Not quite accurate Brian1987. The player has to have been at the club for 3 years between the ages of 15 and 21. McLean was born in Jan 1992. Therefor he turned 15 in Jan 2007. However he moved to St Mirren in 2009. So he only has 2 of the required 3 eligible years.

26 Jun 2017 18:38:38
never said he had trained with us for 3 years just said that's the rule parky7720 lol i think bates mckay wilson and whichever 3rd choice keeper should cover the four required for club trained players not sure how many scottish trained players other than wallace miller and jack we have we may be 1 short which dorrans or mcclean would fill

26 Jun 2017 22:55:14
McLean will be a pre contract in January

27 Jun 2017 10:38:08
Bates has only been with us for 2 seasons so he doesn't count as club trained, but should count as association trained. Our club trained are Wilson and McKay and they have left two blank spaces to cover the other 2 required. We have Wallace, Miller, Jack, Holt and Bates to make up the required 4 association spaces.

25 Jun 2017 22:50:46
Pedro is hopeful he can finally get Dorrans deal over the line at some point in the next 24 hours.
Norwich board meeting tomorrow to discuss £1.3m bid plus add ons.
Dorrans already agreed terms in principal with an agreed wage cut to make deal possible widely reported.

26 Jun 2017 00:38:18
Hope it's enough to get the deal done. Dorrans would be a smashing player who'd improve us massively.

26 Jun 2017 00:46:27
Let's just hope this 1 is for real this time, Dorrans would be massive for us. Like u say TheGlagowranger I seen the reports with basically what u said in your post.

I feel there's one or 2 people on here that don't know how good Dozza is! It's like they think he's average or something. Only one or 2 people.

I can't tell u why he's only got 19 caps for Scotland, I also can't tell you why Scott brown plays before him, when Dozza is twice the player. I think it might be ginger strachans wee frav and Levine before him.

Anyway as my new top comes tomorrow, it would be fitting that Dorrans signs . Really hope so and it's no more PR guess work lol 😂

26 Jun 2017 05:42:16
agree fellow bears - to get dozzy over the line wld be a great signing for our club and a significant statement of intent

the lad's a crackin player and can sit in and keep the ball for us with his range of passing, but crucially he can go and make a real impact in the final third creating assists and goals.

I've watched him for years in EPL and always been impressed and it obv helps he's a huge bluenose!

fingers xd this happens - will be our best signing so far.

26 Jun 2017 09:36:35
I think we're going a wee bit overboard over a player who is a good pro but not good enough to pick up more than 12 (NOT 19!) caps out of a possible 70 for a country that's struggling badly. Great, fantastic, massive, that's Ronaldo. Good, steady, reliable, that's Dorrans.

26 Jun 2017 10:43:07
I think it's important to remember he is a rangers fan as well as a solid midfield player with exellant passing stats he will understand what it means to be a ranger. Along with Waldo miller and jack. We need these type of players to mix with the continental players

26 Jun 2017 11:13:30
Wee-Ecky, Don't see your point about Dorrans and the amount of caps he has? being picked for the Scotland team has always been a case of pals act, few players over the years who have been overlooked due to managers simply not liking them

26 Jun 2017 11:52:17
Wee Ecky you on the crack? Surely even you know that dorrans is a class above what we have and what play in the SPFL at the moment. There are players who the national manager doesn't like but that doesn't make them bad players. Jordan Rhodes? Ross McCormack? Lee Wallace? to name a few. all good players and would improve the national team but don't get picked. Dorrans is and would ba great signing for us. but hey ho what would it be without some negativity some people are never happy.

26 Jun 2017 12:08:52
Weee Ekky, before you start banging on about how little his Scotland caps are. Might be worth remembering why- Dorrans suffered a ongoing personal tragedy that I would not wish on anyone.
Dorrans was unavailable for many ties.

So before correcting me on a couple of caps get your facts straight.
Think before u talk man!
Or risk sounding like wee -fool, not wee - Ekky

26 Jun 2017 13:24:02
can i ask how many caps did davy cooper get wee ecky?

that if anything should tell you it's not necessarily a true barometer of success

the lego muncher is every managers fave hence the no of caps he has but to my mind he's bang average

wee chesney wldnt dare incur the wrath of the unwashed hordes of fans and media apologists by not picking him

so whilst i agree int caps is a measure of success it's not always accurate

just a thought. i maintain if we get dorrans he'll be a crackin player for us

26 Jun 2017 13:43:00
"before you start banging on about how little his Scotland caps are"

Maybe he has a small head.

26 Jun 2017 14:10:26
Ei minto. Super coop. 22 Caps 6 Goals. Should have had a lot more I hope we can get Dorrans he will run over the top o the lego muncher

26 Jun 2017 14:24:05
To all of you who read what you wanted to be in my post and not what was actually in it.
1. I said Dorrans was a good pro. Of course he's better than the dross we're in the process of getting rid of. I never said he wasn't.
2. While I fully understand the lad's tragic problems, the number of caps is a legitimate measure. Davie Cooper was capped just 22 times because for almost 4 years Jock Stein preferred John Robertson, if he used a winger, so Onlyshowaround you are partially correct when you say caps are sometimes down to managers liking you or otherwise.
3. I said he was a good player, a reliable player and he is. I just pointed out that he is not 'massive' 'cracking' or 'smashing'.
4 I'm not on crack, what a repulsive comment, but I do believe a byproduct of being addicted to that drug is euphoria coupled with paranoia, both evident in your mad post, Kri 55.
5 Unlike most of you I have seen Dorrans in action for both club and country and I would certainly like to see him sign for Rangers, nowhere have I said any different. He'd be a decent addition to our team. Also, unlike most of you, I won't crucify him after he has a poor game.

26 Jun 2017 18:01:46
Ecky might be wrong but I can remember emmon bannon of Dundee Utd getting picked to play for Scotland on the left wing ahead of super coop for years and not John Robertson ( nott forest ) not (hearts ) bannon was no bad but not in the same league as super bannon not great at crossing ether as he couldn't see who was in the middle way all that hair
