Qatar club to re-enter another bid for Madjid Bougherra that is now too good to turn down Believed to be in the region of 4m This is increasingly given the club a headache known that he can walk away free next year but also can't afford to let him leave as Rangers are left with no cover at centre back for the Champions League; Dorin Goian looks likely to miss out on the European deadline with having to wait on international clearance and Visa
Believable7
Unbelievable5
I'd take the £4m for Bougherra and invest it in Goodwillie and Verhoek or Templeton. Weir and Papac at CB, or kyle hutton, mcculloch, whittaker and broadfoot who can all deputise at CB for the second leg as Boughie will likely play tomorrow... If we can get that kind of money for someone who doesnt want to be at the club anymore we'd be crazy to turn it down.
Agree0
Disagree0
Wait can we add players to the team for the next qualifying round?
Agree0
Disagree0
Yes we can add players for the next round, secondly no one is going to pay 4m for bougie so we can dream on with that one
Agree0

Take it if its a £4million.... yes we can, the deadline today was just for this qualifier v malmo.

Ally, take the money, he doesn't want to play for Rangers. Put Papac and Weir(Broadfoot) in the middle with Lee McCulloch as a Defensive Midfielder with Wallace on the left and Whittaker on the right Get the 4mil, buy Goodwille and Verhoeke and another decent CB

Now that goodwillie's case has been dropped i expect us to strike a deal with utd, dosh they need after being put out of europe. I also expect us to up the bid for davidson and if bougherra goes we will go in for Juhasz. bougherra has not been the same sine his first season and weir makes him look good. buy odebayo now rather than wait till january. cuellar may still happen but he is sitting tight at villa collecting 40k per wk the joing us before window shuts. dont fret fellow bears after weekend, hib are a bottom 6 club who will be fighting relegation this season, hearts can give old firm a game anytime. thses signings will secure 4IAR and say bye bye to lemmon WATP

A rape charge against Dundee United and Scotland footballer David Goodwillie has been dropped.
Mr Goodwillie, 22, was accused of assaulting a woman at a house party in West Lothian on 2 January. He was charged on 17 January.
His arrest came after a 24-year-old woman said she was sexually assaulted during the party in Armadale.
But the Crown Office said there was "insufficient evidence in law" for the case to proceed.
A spokesman said: "After full and careful consideration of all the facts, Crown Counsel has instructed no proceedings on the basis that there is insufficient evidence in law.
"The case is now closed." MUNICH

Goian signs on a 3 year deal subject to international clearance and work permit...BUT is not the wildcard for the malmo game ?? source :ssn
Believable9
Unbelievable8
Could Goodwillie be the wildcard? That would be some move the fans would love. To be honest the chances of buying someone and then have them go straight into the Team are slim.
Agree0

Well who is this so called made up wildcard singing.
Agree0
Disagree0
Here is hoping it is bedoya , he looks a decent player
Agree0
Disagree0
The wildcard is real. A club has 24hrs to register a player before the game. That game is Tuesday. Whether Rangers take advantage of the rule is another story.
GDog
Agree0
Disagree0
Yes it is he can not play tomorrow night but he can play in the away leg. Still needs to be registered before 11pm.
Agree0
Disagree0
Goian isn't the wildcard as there isn't enough time to sort his work permit out.
We won't have a wildcard for tomorrow.
Agree0
Disagree0
Yes he is he does not need the work permit to registered all he needs is international clearence but needs a work permit to play and he will get that in the next couple of days.
Agree0
Disagree0
If it isn't Goian then we have no other new signings to register. Also, isn't Goodwillie cup-tied because he played for Dundee United in European Competition? (I don't know if he is I was just askin) {Ed047's Note - yes he is
Agree0
Disagree0
Goian is our wildcard just not expected to play in the first game tho there hoping to try n rush through his application 2moro.
Goodwillie is cuptied for initial qualifiers and Europa league tho if we progress I'm unsure if he can play group stages Tho I'd buy him just for the league. If we win the league he'd be worth it

Kenny Miller would have been worth it if we win the league

I think he is worth around £3.5 m so i would see £2m as a bargain
Agree0

Get the 2 million out and get the deal done whyte w a t p
Agree0
Disagree0
He WILL sign for somewhere in the region of £2m. It's just the usual negotiating, the buyer always wants to pay less and threatens to walk away, that's business We went to £1.5m in the end for Lee Wallace and he only had a year left on his contract. Whyte will know Goodwillie is worth £2m and will pay it in the end.
Agree0
Disagree0
Whyte said he wasn't worth 2 mill when the rape charge was hanging over him and he was right, no rape charge now when did Whyte say he is not worth it now, he hasn't ffs charges only dropped today give him a chance to speak to Ally and then put a bid together

I posted last week when Ziani signed for a Qatar club that, that could be the end for Boughy, as soon as he sees his mate earning £77,000 per week he will have called his agent and told him to make some calls. I now fear he will cause problems and demand to be sold. I have never felt he was honourable, I of course don't know the lad but I think he's forgetting who got him to where he is. I'm normally fairly positive to our team as I think that is the only way to be. However I fear the quality of CBs we will have and just signed will not be good enough. I hope I'm wrong, the one oversight I feel has happened last season was for Walter not to involve McCoist more in the transfers in the last season, as it is clear that this has taken him by surprise, and what with a club now being run by novices the combination is not ideal.
I will never doubt McCoists commitment to this club, and I will always stand by him even if we come across problems this season. I hope we all stand behind him this season I would hate to see our fans to act without dignity. Some of the younger have no understanding of this mans stature and drive for our club.

Goian was once strongly linked to man u and plays in serie A but has had a very unlucky spell there hence why Palermo are willing to let him go cheap.

The big defender might get a work permit in time for Malmo....
....The Romanian defender would require a work permit and, despite not meeting the criteria, could receive one on Monday.
To receive an SFA endorsement for a work permit application, regulations state a player must have played in 75 per cent of matches for a FIFA top 70 ranked nation in the past two years.
However, as the player was unavailable through injury, the SFA may consider that the player played in enough fixtures in which he was available for selection, with a final decision being taken by the UK Border Agency. As such, Goian's work permit application could yet be processed on Monday. (stv news)
Believable6
Unbelievable6
The top 70 caps thing is for automatic acceptance. You don't need to just have played for a top 70 country and have caps for that country.
As long as the SFA feels he will add to the team they will endorse the player. The same reason why Victor Wanyama (Kenya) got his permit after backing by the SFA.
Agree0
Disagree0
If wanyama, a young kenyan defender coming in from an obscure belgian team got one, i cant see any problems signing an established romanian international from a top italian side.
Agree0
Disagree0
He'll almost definitely get the work permit. The point this guy is making is, can he get it in time to be registered for the malmo game. Personally i don't think he should be playing so soon and judging from Wallace not getting on the pitch sat. i would guess ally feels the same way.

There seems to be a bit of panick amongst the gers faithfull, lets keep it real guys, i can see why MR Whyte aint splashing the cash as we expected, i think he is waiting to see if rangers can get into the group stages of the CL before willing to dig deep, we really need 2 quality cb's maybe 3 if we sell bougherra, if the bid was true that figure quoted was 3mil for a player on last year of contract i dont understand why we havnt accepted unless they holding out for more cash, we need 2 more midfielders a quality cm and a quality winger , also a top st is needed , and that should seal the deal for 4 in a row, also i am unsure how the registration works for the Cl group stage should we reach that, do we do a re register?

I would love to see brunt come In, and young Jake Livermore up from spurs Goodwille up top with jela would rip the spl

Ther is a re register yes, 1st we enter our players for the qualifiers then again for group stages if we progress. Luv to see Goodwillie now the charges hav dropped also James McArthur fi Wigan the boy a ger at heart and would jump at the chance of a move to us also Brunt would b great 4us. 6mill would get the 3 a reckon or maybe a bit more but we should hav that.

I agree with the post, but we won't get into the CL group stages unless we make a few more signings.

Talk of Chris Brunt are not fading away...like the other ulstermen in the current squad he is a Rangers fan and would be ideal to fill a position that has been void for years-left mid-field as Lee Wallace is certainly more suited to left back....£2-3mil quotations, a bargain for an excellent set piece player who chips in with a respectable goals tally each season

He would need a work permit no matter how many games he has played for Romania. If you have played more than 75% of the time for your country and they are ranked inside the top 70 then you will automatically be granted a work permit. As Goin doesn't meet these requirements his application will be rejected and he will appeal it. The appeals panel usually take around 3-5 days to respond.

He can only play in the 2nd leg in Sweden, as he misses out in the 1st leg because he needs a work permit.

He cant play as he needs a work permit and that takes 2-3 days {Ed047's Note - thank you

I think someone doesn't have a clue what they are on about... Romania is a Member State of the European Union which means that Goian does not require a work permit to play for Rangers... So either the poster is spouting rubbish or the Score Centre App is incorrect
It has been openly stated that Rangers are trying to sign him before the 17:00 deadline so that he will be eligable to play tomorrow night FACT {Ed047's Note - Google it mate. You'll find plenty saying he NEEDS a permit and just as I type, Radio Clyde news confirm he needs a permit
Agree0

If he's from Europe does he still need a Work Permit (The EU market and all that....) {Ed047's Note - YES YES YES YES it seems that there are different rules for different parts of Europe. He needs a permit

Surely it would have been more prudent to sign the anderlecht centre back first...re work permit issues ?I have no doubt thats what timalloy and Miko the man with the issues would have done I cant help thinking that ally should put his own team on the park and Im aware we do need a left sided creative midfielder but the type of striker we need is an expert link up player/striker I also feel what s letting us down isthe impotency of the midfield ball winners they are inefficient and thats an over statement but lets get on with it Im sure the scouts will know who they are.

In reply to the 3rd post. No I am not spouting rubbish and no the score centre app is correct. You need 2 do a bit more research before replying 2 posts. {Ed047's Note - it's not difficult to google something

He Does need a work permit, there are different rules to work in the UK for Romania and Bulgaria, check home office guidelines.

Wild card needs to be reg'd by 11PM, not 5 or 7.45PM also, hes played 40% of romanias internationals in the past 2 years (70% required for permit) however spent most of last season unavailable due to injury thus will get permit easily
Agree0

In reply to the 8th post. No it is not 11pm. I CAN'T MAKE IT ANY CLEARER IT IS 5PM. IT WAS 11PM LAST THURSDAY BUT IT IS WILD CARD REGISTRATION NOW AND IT ENDS AT 5PM. {Ed047's Note - so are you saying it's 5pm?
Agree0

75% of internationals is the required criteria. Hes only played 40% due to injury so work permit will only be granted on appeal and could take 3-5 days. MUNICH

Goian can't play till he gets a work permit

We all knew there would be this work permit delay. Surely Rangers must have looked into this before deciding this was the wildcard they wanted for the Malmo game?

He needs work permit to get in and another work thing cause hes romanian

I think bouggy will leave. Stv are the best source for rangers news and they are saying he will go.

It is 11pm he can sign till moron get it right tho it wont be happening that quick because of wor permit issues FACTS u need to find them oot {Ed047's Note - It has been mentioned twice that the deadline is 5pm but Radio Clyde have just mentioned it is 11.00pm and YES there are work permit issues
Agree0

The 11 o clock deadline was for the first deadline not the wildcard that is why it states 24hrs before kickoff and not a specific time as a ot of these qualifiers have diffrent kick off times its most likely 24hrs before teamsheets have to be handed in doesnt really matter he doesnt have work permit

He isnt the Wildcard ????

Seems like Bougie is on his way next week with a 2.6million offer on the table. Good luck to him, he's done well with us, and we got the money back we paid.
Goian fee is agreed and hopefully he'll sign a 3 year deal.
It looks as though we've missed out on Cuellar according to the Express.
New bids for Davidson and Juhasz this week and maybe a cheeky bid for Murphy (Motherwell).
Lets hope we get Bartley this week also.
