First time poster here just had too get this on as I know it's true

Been told by someone very close too billy gilmouts family that rangers are only offering the kid £500 a week too stay at Rangers this is well below what some English clubs are offering him Chelsea are offering him £2000 a week plus covering all the costs too relocate his full family down too London

This is shocking and really annoying me hence the name

25 Jan 2017 20:33:28
I think the difference is that Chelsea and the likes can afford to take that type of gamble on a prodigy where as 104k a year is a lot of money for us to spend on someone who realistically won't play first team for a couple more years and may not even come good. I do agree that we should try tie him down but I don't see us paying him 2k a week at that age sadly.

25 Jan 2017 20:34:48
Aye let's spend wisely, r u kidding me some rangers fans don't want there young assets on good wages they say we need to spend wisely, am sorry but if I was gilmours dad or mother a would tell Rangers to get to France. Lol. Serious but this is very alarming and to be honest nothing isn't surprising me at this minute.

25 Jan 2017 21:06:11
Good talent goes to waste when money and fame go young players heads remember Jeffers if he's a rangers fan and wants to wear the gers gersey he should stay and earn it 500 a week at 15 probably 6-10 gs by the time he's 20 then move for a fee he won't play for chelsea

25 Jan 2017 21:10:51
From what i'm led to believe the only disagreement was over length of contract rangers were looking to tie him down but his father was looking at two years at a time

25 Jan 2017 21:21:29
Rutherglen bear would taking a 104k risk not be worth it if he turns out too be the player that ihe is expected too become then he can be sold for millions in the future

what's the point of having auchinhowie if we are just going too let other clubs come and take our best young players the money that has been spent on coaching these boys is just a waste of money if we can afford too give kids like gilmour 2k a week we have given the likes of Rossiter about 10k a week look how that's worked out I think spend money keep our own talent nurture them if one goes on too be sold for 6 million like McKay has been roumered too be worth then that pays for a lot of 2k a week gems

25 Jan 2017 21:47:26
we will not get 6 million for Mckay

teams know Ashely has us under the frying pan and we can't knock back money, 3 million or so.

25 Jan 2017 21:48:34
Got to keep him for minimum 2 years without breaking the bank. Although a lot can happen with development within that time if he keeps progressing as he is he should be there or thereabouts the first team by then. He does look a star turn so no reason why we can't profit from him in the future.

Unless he was magnificent he would just be another young player snapped up by these big clubs, not get a sniff of the first team and be loaned around lower leagues. It's a risk worth taking offering him a decent contract in my opinion. And great to see the academy producing such talent. Long may it continue.

25 Jan 2017 21:47:16
£2000 a month is decent for a 16 yr old and if he proves himself he will get a better deal and get his big move later down the line . he's not going to get games at chelsea and probably get loaned out from club to club if all he's interested in at his stage of his career is money then rangers are better off without him.

25 Jan 2017 22:08:41
What is more shocking is taking 6m for winger. Shocking if we sell to RB. We are building NOT selling surely

26 Jan 2017 09:01:25
If he goes to Chelsea he'll never play. Ryan Betrand, Daniel Sturridge, Oriol Romeu. All good young players that never got a chance.

26 Jan 2017 09:29:45
2 grand a month is piss poor for a young player of his ability , you can earn that doing delivery's for a decent take away shop in a month .

26 Jan 2017 10:18:19
its £2000 a week he'll have been offered not a month! also he'll do well doing deliveries at 15 unless he's going to use his bike!

26 Jan 2017 10:51:29
Fab, can you give me the details of said delivery companies? Wouldn't mind a part time job that pays that much.

26 Jan 2017 11:02:58
2 words John Fleck

26 Jan 2017 13:03:44
If he wants to go now then let him go otherwise he will just leave when he's 18 anyway and taken the money out the club.

However, he should look at Chelsea as a development club and remember that kevin de bryne couldn't get a game for them and was shipped out. what's his chances?

they do not produce young players.

26 Jan 2017 14:32:04
He means we have offered him £2k a month Chelsea supposedly offered £2k a week.

We should be offering £1k per week to him no more no less and he should jump at the chance. If he's good enough and makes it he will play for whatever EPL club he wants but you have to work for it.

Going to these clubs early in their career as good as spells disaster for their future as they fade into the background of training and never meet their abilites. Islam Feruz. Enough said.

26 Jan 2017 15:23:19
£500 per week! that's £26000 per year at 15 years old. Not to bad if you ask me. I served a 4 year engineering apprenticeship and then went to uni for 3 years. i'm now 38 years old and I don't earn that much!

26 Jan 2017 14:51:19
once he turns 16 I think we can't afford to keep him and 104 k a year on a 16 year old is too much money epl teams have that as pocket change.

if the boy wants to be a rangers player then he can be but he knows we are struggling financially at the moment and if he leaves us then I don't really care. at 16 you know your not gonny want to move to London u want the paycheck but living away from friends at that age is n earn 500 a week and I have two kids house car wife that likes to spend and I manage at 16 years old he will be rolling in it lmao

26 Jan 2017 20:23:17
Onlyshow my guys do at least 40 a night, average 2 quid a delivery (sometimes more on a good tips night ) 6 nights a week, equals 480 quid a week mate, smith0069 at no point did I offer him a job or suggest he gets a job doing delivery's , it was a comparison for discussions sake, if you can't read a post correctly then why waste time commenting on it .

25 Jan 2017 18:29:46
Just heard Ryan Christie thinks he is going to the second biggest club in Scotland in a loan deal with the sheep. I think it's a right slap in the face to his parent club, rating them only third biggest.

25 Jan 2017 21:58:13
his popularity ratings will be through the roof with both sides lol.

25 Jan 2017 23:08:57
Could be worse seeker, could be going to the 3rd biggest team in Glasgow, yourselves.

25 Jan 2017 23:57:17
Some people have very short memories and selective memories at that!

26 Jan 2017 00:10:52
Ha ha Bhampot! I knew you couldn't resist! Obviously as a fan of the world's most successful club, I will disagree with you.

25 Jan 2017 13:19:28
SSN just reported we're in advanced talks to take Reece Oxford on loan from West Ham.

Holding MF/ Centre half.

25 Jan 2017 13:25:27
That's something I would never had expected.

Really hope that one does happen he is a quality player.

25 Jan 2017 13:38:23
Yeah I just seen that on sky news there, very surprised good player

25 Jan 2017 13:54:17
Hopefully goes through. Would also welcome getting Senderos off the wage bill if possible.

25 Jan 2017 13:59:15
His type of plyer is what we have been crying out for since Dom Ball left.
He could play a floating CB/ DM role depending on how far forward our full backs are.

25 Jan 2017 15:12:13
Delighted if this goes through

25 Jan 2017 15:25:51
The boy is still young and will take a bit of time to adapt but if he shows anything like his potential he'll definitely add some strength to an area that we are weak.

If he does sign, maybe we'll shift someone else off the payroll?

25 Jan 2017 15:36:18
'He's a quality player' 'He's just what we need' 'He could play a floating role'
He's 18, for crying out loud! He's played a grand total of 7 first team games!

25 Jan 2017 15:04:56
In signing reece oxford on loan it would allow warbs to play the 3 centre halfs at the back even more! This young man for several years now, continues to draw comparisons to rio ferdinand! What a compliment that is, says it all really! This would be a terrific signing for us even though its only originally a loan signing, until the end of the season!

I would really hope that there's scope for rangers and west ham, to make the loan deal longer. Instead of 6 months i'd hope we have him for 18 months! We can only hope, you never know! This is really very good news for us as reece oxford is quality!

25 Jan 2017 15:46:22
wee-ecky, he's played a grand total of 7 first team games.

For an English PL team. He's also been out injured so has missed out on some extra games.

Not sure that anyone is saying that he is the next messiah but his strengths definitely coincide with one of our weak areas.

Just think. this could be positive for our club!

25 Jan 2017 16:01:10
It's not that it couldn't be a positive for the club, BR65, it's the instant hysteria over a young kid that bugs me. It was only a matter of time before somebody mentioned Ferdinand, who was a Hammers regular by 17 and their player of the year by 19. Nothing like putting pressure on the kid before he's even signed for us! And it's also a loan, so it could take him until about April just to fit in properly.

25 Jan 2017 16:06:53
Reece Oxford wouldn't play every week if he came. He's only 18. Would that mean Danny Wilson and Philip Senderos are moved further down the pecking order as soon as a young boy walks through the door? Warbs may be looking to rip up Senderos' contract but I doubt it. Think this boy would be used as another option to Andy Halliday in Jordan Rossiter's absence. Just like Gedion Zelalem was, he will be used sparingly.

25 Jan 2017 16:22:45
Wee-Eck maybe you should chill. He is a good player who has a big future in the game if all goes well. One of the highest regarded young defenders in the prem league.
i'm not saying he gets a free role or the captaincy. Besides how many first team games did Dom Ball play before he came to us and helped us?
Some people are never happy!

25 Jan 2017 16:41:16
senderros should be as far away as possible preferably where he comes from waste of finances

25 Jan 2017 17:42:03
Keepbeleiving, I'm pretty sure West ham would want assurances he would play most weeks before sending him out on loan. Usually don't excite easily but even on a 6 month loan this excites me this boy will be a cut above any cb or midfield options we have, EASILY

25 Jan 2017 17:56:58
I'm sure DJ compared Crooks to Alan Hansen, but there u go lol.

25 Jan 2017 17:59:02
Big question is. Does anyone know what colour of boots the boy wears?

25 Jan 2017 18:06:08
Hopefully Barrie isn't leaving to make funds available for this deal!

25 Jan 2017 18:55:07
Why would Barrie leave because we have signed a DM/ CB on loan?

25 Jan 2017 19:06:56
Bluegenius, your words: He could play a floating CB/ DM role.
Where did I mention anything about a free role or the captaincy? And Ball played for us now and then in a league below, so I haven't the foggiest what you're trying to say here. Of course the boy might be good for us. Of course making contact could be good for us, if our manager doesn't make an arse of the lad. The point is the hysteria on here over a promising kid is ridiculous.

25 Jan 2017 19:40:43
Completely agree ecky he's had one good game in professional football against Man City then a few shakey performances. It's hardly a marquee signing, he's an 18 year old boy.

25 Jan 2017 20:22:03
He is a future England CB in the making and very highly regarded. Getting him in can only benefit the club and all parties concerned. I hope it goes through.

25 Jan 2017 21:27:41
Is this the same guy who almost single-handedly kept Arsenal in check in the opening league game of last season?

26 Jan 2017 09:58:51
Eck! You claim people are becoming hysteric when they are merely showing a bit of excitement/ optimism. Then wonder why people are defending their stance.
We are fully aware of his age and experience however he is another option in 2 areas we are struggling.
