King states he will invest more money in the club but as to how much is up to the manager - DOF appointment not imminent - as per Talksport interview with Jim white

25 Mar 2017 00:24:43
so if Pedro wants 20m that's what he will get afcw

25 Mar 2017 06:37:40
for arguments sake let's take what you're saying as true smodge rather than hyperbolised rubbish, would he have signed if he didn't have gaurentees over a budget he felt was appropriate?

25 Mar 2017 13:07:32
Smudge re-read my post about what Dave King told Jim White live on Talksport yesterday then re-read your post - make up your own mind.

26 Mar 2017 13:08:35
How much? My guess is King will provide £6 million with the money raised from any departures to be reinvested so wages from Sendaros, Hyndman, Toral to be used for 3 loans or free transfers!

Would sell Waghorn for anything over 700k and a big if over McKay only for a decent fee. would like to keep him but if we were offered good money we could attain at least 2 good prospects or 1 proved playmaker.

McKay could go on to be a top top player but its all a gamble that includes the buying team though a team in PL or even Championship would see 5-6 or even 7m as a gamble they could afford to lose but that kind of money even 5m would have to be thought about but could turn into a 10-15m player easily but again hindsight eh.

Reading suggestions that we should go and nick Ryan Jack off the sheep. If we are interested in him we should make a move. He would be interested I'm sure. Saying this as I've known the family for years. His grandfather was a fanatical bear from Maryhill. He himself was a Rangers supporter as a youngster. I have watched his development from an early age, and I can tell you Rangers is in his blood.

24 Mar 2017 10:08:39
Decent enough player but should be aiming at least a little higher if we are to try close the gap next season.

24 Mar 2017 10:17:29
Who cares if rangers is in his blood, if he's good enough to enhance the team then that's all that matters!

24 Mar 2017 11:16:49
Ronnie bang on mate we've got one on the books the now Rangers in his blood, Goven Born, Mr one of us and a badge kisser and he's Rank Rotten ( if your good enough that'll do)

24 Mar 2017 11:33:11
i think he would be a fantastic signing. Not only would it be a good bit of business with him being out of contract it would significantly weaken Aberdeen which is always nice.

This is the signings we used to make, good Scottish players who know the club and league inside out.

Similarly, Paterson from hearts on a free would also be good business.

24 Mar 2017 17:14:41
Rangers might be in his blood, but not in his feet, I'm afraid. Not good enough, sorry.

24 mar 2017 17:15:52
i wouldn't say halliday is rank rotten!
he has been played in a defensive role .

he is an attacking player and has a good eye for a pass but can't do that playing defensively

24 Mar 2017 18:28:56
Haliday may have a good eye for a pass but his feet can't do what his eyes can see. His passing is shocking

24 Mar 2017 20:07:48
Been following rangers for 55 years trust me he's Rank Rotten excuses being made for him about having a good eye you can say that about anybody that can't pass a ball to were they meant to put it. Lol

24 Mar 2017 22:19:25
The guy is highly thought of at Aberdeen but is looking for a move. Whilst it shouldn't matter who any player supports I think it can make a difference. All being equal I would take one of our own. I'm not sure how good he is but the sheep don't want to lose him especially to us. Worth a punt on a free.

24 Mar 2017 22:48:00
Im not a fan of Halliday and he wouldn't b in my strongest 11 at this moment in time but to say he's rank rotten is quite harsh when you think of players gone by IE, capucho, sebo, ostenstaad, bernard to name a few. at least when he's rotten its not for the want of trying unlike some of the imposters iv mentioned

25 Mar 2017 00:30:40
Jls tbh mate i disagree. The players you mention were terrible but halliday? Number of goals we have lost because of to be frank his total lack of basic schoolboy level awareness is alarming. His error for 2nd v hearts was shocking. If i recall correctly we nearly lost a goal from almost same situation in next game. It will be interesting to see how he performs under new manager though as i do think the squad as a whole under performed under warbutton this season. Compare halliday in hearts game to semi last yr and it was like 2 different players.

25 Mar 2017 04:02:22
Andy halliday has been terrible this season truth be told. Although I think Warburton's style of play has held him back. Doesn't help when the boys playing out of position either. I'd definitely take a punt on the boy Jack. If were going to get him on a free what's there to lose? He's been a key player for the sheep for a number of years now and still only 25 with a lot of development in front of him.

25 Mar 2017 07:24:21
cant believe were still discussing andy halliday his future is over at rangers and rightly so, this year he's proved his limit is the scottish championship or lower spl at best any other rangers player who had put in the performances he had this season would have been booed off the park a long time ago, if things were different with barton kranjcar and rossiter halliday wouldn't have saw much pitch time this season midfield and CB will be pedros main areas to fill nxt season losing hyndman is a loss and possibly losing toral could be a loss too as i thought our new style really suited him in hamilton game

25 Mar 2017 08:43:56
I'm not disagreeing with you bored, but i think some fans go on as if he's the worse player to ever pull on the jersey. we need to remember he was released from Bradford for a reason and he's on pennys at us. the point i'm making about the players i mentioned is that they were on a fortune and all played at a decent level so theoretically should have been a lot better. p.s, got to agree his hearts mistake was a howler 😂

25 Mar 2017 13:39:39
I am not a fan of Halliday. I reckon he lacks guile and is not the bravest of players as was seen against Celtic. That said he is certainly not the worst player, (Those that say he is clearly weren't around when we had Jim Denny, Gregor Stevens or Neil Murray, those guys shouldn't even have been playing junior football.

I don't think Halliday has benefitted from Warburton's management style but then why should he be any different than anyone else. There is more fighting spirit, there is more team spirit and an overall better winning mentality

26 Mar 2017 12:31:06
Halliday is a decent player, at the very least a good squad player for us going forward. People giving it he's not good enough need to accept that he's been played out of position all season and we are still in 3rd place even with that shambles of a defence behind him. So he's obviously quite a bit better than most midfielders in the league.

26 Mar 2017 13:09:16
Will we be able to sell players like Halliday etc will they go easily if their going to take a hit in wages?

26 Mar 2017 13:22:36
Gregor Stevens, what a player he was, £400 a week and 10 lbs of prime beef.

24 Mar 2017 08:51:52
It's being reported that KK and SD have been close to an agreement for sometime that will allow us to sell our own shirts by way of a new more balanced retail contract.

If true, this can only be good news and hopefully signals the start of improved finances.

24 Mar 2017 09:13:53
Forgive the ignorance, but who is KK?

24 Mar 2017 09:16:29
Should read DK, not KK!

24 Mar 2017 10:02:54
Why can't folk just type actual names, the amount of times i have to pause half way through to play the initials guessing game drives me nuts.

24 Mar 2017 12:05:55
Doesn't take much does it? You should try meditating or yoga

24 Mar 2017 11:56:00
Must waste about 3 secs of your day 😂

24 Mar 2017 17:19:15
think this is nonsense mate where have u heard this and is there an official statement i don't mind rumours mate but not one's that are clearly made up.

the fat rat doesn't like us wants to jail DK
so why on earth would he back track on a deal that has made neither party a lot of money but suits him down to a tee so that king can gets the rough end of the deal

24 Mar 2017 18:23:21
Jim Stirling, do ye read the papers mate? Pretty much every rag has reported it or something like it. If it was made up then it's by someone other than BR65

25 Mar 2017 13:47:31
James Stirling, the very fact that Sports Direct hasn't made money on the deal because of the boycott means that there is no real winner and Ashley has a Board of Directors and shareholders other than himself that he is accountable to.

At some point he has to look at the Business aspects and not just his vendetta with King. With King apparently willing to step down as Chairman there is clearly a deal to be done.
