Don't know how true Rangers are rumoured to have had an interest in Spanish sensation striker Borja Baston from Eiber Anyone else heard that rumour?

24 Jan 2016 20:30:55
Eibar don't own him he's in loan from atletico madrid.

Hes 1 of top scorers in la liga so no chance he will sign for us.

24 Jan 2016 20:47:37
So long as we don't have to pay real money for him we might have a chance!

24 Jan 2016 23:01:35
Maybe the board will test the water with a £2500 bid for the pair to be paid in instalments!

25 Jan 2016 00:37:16
These jokes are getting annoying now I think. The board and management are doing well with the transfers. I think if diagouraga or o'halloran were worth the money everyone thinks a bid would be made.

25 Jan 2016 10:39:11
agree wholeheartedly TJRFC.

25 Jan 2016 15:54:08
Tjrfc, I believe that O'Halloran is worth what we are being told St Johnstone value him at. He is a quality young player that can only benefit from playing under Warburton.

Not so sure about Diagouraga but he is history however I do believe that we still need a quality defensive midfield player.

As for the jokes, I fear that they will continue until we see King putting his money where his mouth is!

25 Jan 2016 19:01:32
Guys lighten up its just a joke yer starting tae act like celtic supporters, but we've been doing business this month and spent NOTHING, Zero, not a penny does this not tell you something, Accrington guys yes money in the summer!

26 Jan 2016 01:49:41
Bongo why spend money if we don't need to? We've done good business so far and don't really need o'halloran so I don't see why people seem to want him. Only impressed me against us and hasn't scored a lot throughout his career.

26 Jan 2016 18:23:31
Trfc, we have needed a defensive midfield player since Warburton's arrival and have had to play Halliday out of position to meet that need.

24 Jan 2016 14:58:50
Ryan Hardie loan move to Airdrie on the cards.

24 Jan 2016 15:37:12
Shame that he hasn't been given more game time, particularly in games such as the livi match where the game was over before half time, surely the ideal time to give likes of hardie and Thomson a go.

24 Jan 2016 15:43:31
Can someone please tell me why we are farming out our talented youngsters who are on the fringes of playing in our first team?
i. e Hardie and Murdoch? (Granted the latter was a season or 2 ago, but was very promising)

24 Jan 2016 15:49:06
IT makes sense to send hardie out on loan to get first team football if he's only going to be on the bench every week, my opinion however would be to give him games for us, but I don't know if he's ready as mw sees him every day it training and still doesn't play him much.

24 Jan 2016 16:27:47
After seeing the benefit that a few loans did for Barrie McKay I don't see a problem if they get game time and ain't just sitting on our bench.

24 Jan 2016 17:10:47
Did WB not say recently he would like Hardie to go out on loan but he won't go out on loan unless we have cover? Does this mean one of the 'very close' deals is for a striker?

24 Jan 2016 18:44:07
We're probably loaning him out because he isn't featuring for us. Airdrie a great move for him. Our manager is meticulous in his planning so have some faith on him.

24 Jan 2016 18:46:14
Fly the white flag because we lost our on Allan and Ohalloran? I think people are getting fixated on this guy a bit too much. He's a good player but there are many others to chose from. Have faith on our management and scouting teams to sort us out.

24 Jan 2016 20:50:04
Loaning him out makes sense since he will play every week. While I would have liked to see him stay he should return a better player. That said, we are leaving ourselves very short if we have injuries and suspensions unless there are three or four coming in because we could barely name a alit sub's bench with what we have left.

24 Jan 2016 20:52:38
I agree with Campbell. I don't see Allan and o'halloran as major losses. Easily better out there. In warbs we trust.

24 Jan 2016 23:01:21
I think it makes perfect sense for our young players to be gaining vital first team experience to prepare them physically and mentally to be a Rangers player. Every top team in Europe has a large portion of their youth team out on loan.

Not many people had heard of Harry Kane before last season but he'd played almost 60 games on loan before being ready for the first team. I'm all for blooding young players into our starting 11, but they should have 30 plus games under their belt beforehand.

Rangers and Celtic having B teams in league 2 would be an interesting alternative.

24 Jan 2016 23:48:04
Charlie Adam and dare I say it allan McGregor are great examples of how going out on loan can help.

25 Jan 2016 14:30:56
@ STEREOROSS Totally agree with players being loaned out. I remember up until a couple of years ago hibs reserves would play in the Lowland league which is still of a decent standard gives kids a good experience. Personally I think a 'Rangers B' team would get battered in that division.

26 Jan 2016 08:47:50
ALBERTZ

They are better examples of how leaving our coaching structure (then) can help.

24 Jan 2016 14:33:47
Have just heard celtic in talks with st johnstone over ohalloran. we may aswell fly white flag over ibrox now.

24 Jan 2016 15:03:26
We're on earth did you hear that from?

24 Jan 2016 15:32:00
Think Steve McLean said he was surprised Celtic hadn't bidded for him - so people are now speculating.

Don't think Celtic have any interest- if they did they would have outbid us already.

24 Jan 2016 15:42:16
This story has been buzzing around for a few days now.

24 Jan 2016 15:53:54
If this is true, rangers board should hang their heads in shame, making the club and fans a laughing stock, this deal should have went through days ago, and before you all give me stick about club paying over the odds for players a spl player is worth £400,000 of anyone's money, we are taking far to long over transfers atm, just makes you wonder?

24 Jan 2016 15:34:23
If that's the case Celtic will have some amount of bench warmers, or they are going to have a bigger sale than dfs.

24 Jan 2016 17:36:34
Its the media trying to drum up interest and speculation who cares? Its upto the clubs to agree a fee saints are well within there rights to hold out! Some of our low-ball offers have been embarrassing however not in this case don't think he's worth the reported £500k, disappointed not to get Toumani diagouraga though looks a real player.

24 Jan 2016 18:44:42
Well davie1980,where's your info on o'halloran going to the east end mob coming from mate? Or has the cat got your tongue? Your quick on here any other time having a go when fellow posters post what they know and have heard regarding deals for our great club so like bongo asked and myself enlighten us mate, I believe me or not have good info on the o'halloran deal regarding us and its the transfer fee agreement between the two clubs that's stopping the deal going through otherwise michael o'halloran would have been a rangers player by now, trust me on this one!

24 Jan 2016 19:03:07
The white flag, Davie1980? Over an average player? For crying out loud, you've got a short memory.

24 Jan 2016 20:17:14
Wee-ecky, this guy davie1980 is extremely negative regarding glasgow rangers, he's without question a cup half empty guy, there's no doubt about that, as far as he's concerned we might as well wind our great institutional club up now, don't think so because we are on our road back with a tremendous management team that we ALL should be appreciating.

24 Jan 2016 20:53:34
I don't believe that O'Halloran will go to the East End however the lack of movement from us is embarrassing.

Dave King's credibility is going to take a hammering if we don't make a couple of quality signings and I fear that eventually Warburton will become disillusioned if we can't afford even the cheapest of players and £500k for O'Halloran and £600,000 for the lad that went to Leeds should be pocket money for King if he is to be believed.

24 Jan 2016 20:56:33
On the road back let's be realistic here people. were barely surviving. transparecy was said.30 million was said. i relise not on playing sqaud alone. were getting loans just to survive. mw and dw done gr8 job. tavernier. holt waghorn. brilliant. there's major problems when we can't afford 500k. not about how good boys are. did we ever think 200k gona get accepted. 600k leeds paid for player we bid on. falkirk could outbid us lol. there's major underlining problems here that we don't know about. loans need paying back whoever owns the club cause it ain't king an co and they know it. people on here slate me glass half full. no just realistic.

24 Jan 2016 21:08:31
Oh it's just the transfer fee agreement holding this deal up is it? JUST the all important fee agreement that decides whether a transfer takes place or not.

24 Jan 2016 22:20:42
Wouldn't take any notice davie1980, the second you say anything realistic it upsets some people.

24 Jan 2016 22:27:35
Yes jolliboy because trust me here when I tell you everything else has been agreed and o'halloran himself thought the 2 clubs would have agreed a fee last week, I have had good info on rangers chasing o'halloran for several months now and was the first to post as much on here way back then, I honestly wish fellow bears would give their fellow bears credit sometimes as I was prepared to share on here with everyone what I knew and who I knew with my info regarding the o'halloran deal.

24 Jan 2016 23:51:04
Maybe we are waiting until nearer the end of the transfer window so st Johnstone will no longer have time for more bids to come in to make our move, which imo they would be more inclined to sell at that point.

25 Jan 2016 07:52:20
I simply cannot trust anyone who over uses the phrase "trust me" just as bad as I guarantee. What was the fee and paltry terms offered Warbs15 since you know? I know what they were and they were let's say embarrassing. Would struggle to pick up a good prospect from League 1 for what was offered. Unless King stumps up the readies in the summer upon promotion then MW will be offski. No club is willing to accept instalments from Rangers as Dave King simply cannot be trusted and the club is in the court nearly every week re financial issues so all is not well in this area, let's be clear on that. MW has done a decent job so far on a shoestring and in championship it will be enough. don't expect any warchest anytime soon it simply won't happen. Eustace never happened down to lack of money although media bs is fitness issues, oduwa went back to spurs down to money as the club was paying part of the wages. He is on very good money at Spurs for such a young prospect. Young players going out on loan when squad is thin is to free up money to allow MW to bring in a bit of experience. THIS IS THE REALITY Rangers are broke and are reliant on secretive loans. ANY money MW gets in summer will only come from season tickets sales (where have we seen this before? ) don't expect King to stump up any of his own money and every penny that has been used recently is from loans, the fact the sources are not discussed only points to unsuitable terms. DK tells so many porkies you could create a book of one liners. MW is too much of a professional and will ensure his up and coming profile is not hampered by lack of financial backing not now but in the summer upon achieving promotion and who could blame him? The current squad would be top six I think in the SPFL as it is, results wouldn't be like the poundings handed out with the exception of Killie and possibly Motherwell who are both utter rubbish and I could see being punished. let's see how many of the ones in denial feathers get ruffled by this dose of HARSH REALITY.?

26 Jan 2016 18:44:32
You should be an author, Kwaj, you've got some imagination for fantasy dressed as fact.

24 Jan 2016 09:16:38
Why have Leeds not confirmed the Toumani Diagouraga deal officially? I know the player has agreed to terms but it seems weird that I can't find this officially confirmed anyway. Weird if the deal was confirmed a few days ago.

24 Jan 2016 10:00:56
That is true, it's not on their website, maybe still not agreed personals. But to be honest, I only want players who want to play for Rangers. I'm sure we could get someone better for less.

24 Jan 2016 10:09:05
Was reported on Fri they are still awaiting a medical before confirming signing. Source news now.

24 Jan 2016 10:20:05
F. A offices closed at weekends can't register players.

24 Jan 2016 11:00:00
I'd love us to swoop in and pinch him but it really isn't happening I'm afraid.

24 Jan 2016 11:53:45
He scored for Leeds yesterday lol.

24 Jan 2016 12:19:32
He never scored for Leeds yesterday you've got the wrong player! Lol.

24 Jan 2016 13:37:09
The boy did want to come to rangers but because we couldn't agree a fee he never got the chance to choose us or Leeds, but best of luck to the boy.

24 Jan 2016 13:46:59
I believe he does not have to sign for Leeds if he don't want to?

24 Jan 2016 14:22:33
Can't we just let it go! I'd rather see Jordan Thompson getting a run. MW keeps mentioning that he deserves a chance. let's give him a chance then and keep our title charge going with a lean, hungry squad. The boys in the squad have done us proud so far and will only get stronger. We will hopefully have a little money in the summer and can add better quality then.

24 Jan 2016 15:32:54
His Twitter Account, He's Wishing Brentford The Best In The Furure And Thanking Them So He's Defo Away To Leeds.

24 Jan 2016 20:56:35
According to the Leeds manager the fee is £600k and the boy agreed terms but would have signed for Rangers since he was keen to work again with Warburton so it looks as though it was just down to the money.

Seems that Warburton isn't getting the financial support promised by King after all.

That said there is still a week to go so he might prove me wrong!

24 Jan 2016 04:59:37
Have faith fellow bears! Transfer news will be settled by Wednesday, That is all.

24 Jan 2016 08:52:15
Allan RFC, what news do you have with possible signings coming to us by wednesday mate? The only one just now that I've heard is michael o'halloran will be signing if both rangers and st. johnstone can agree a transfer fee, that's the only thing that's stopping the completion of this deal.

24 Jan 2016 12:26:38
We've been hearing another couple of days the whole window. We won't sign anyone because there is no money. Sadly it's looking more and more likely we have believed another boards false promises. No one expects millions to be spent but we are just making ourselves a laughing stock with these stupid bids that never have a chance of getting off the ground.

24 Jan 2016 13:31:20
We might get one or two loans in, which would probably do enough to freshen us up.

24 Jan 2016 13:39:41
I think we might try and get crooks and windass in, but failing that I'm sure a cpl of loans will be brought in, even if we get no new faces in we go with what we have.

24 Jan 2016 13:53:38
Right now I would rather we strengthen up with loans, then at the end of the season strengthen up with permanent signings that will challenge for top 4 next season. Not to mention a slightly better calibre of player might be attracted to a team in the top flight rather than the championship.

24 Jan 2016 15:41:36
It will be settled by Wednesday, they will finally admit we ain't getting anyone.

24 Jan 2016 17:18:32
It was monday the other day. The board and mw talk as much . in a day as my dogs do in a week.

24 Jan 2016 21:02:48
The problem with loanees unless they are on the fringes of an EPL or English Championship side is that we just be bringing in untried youngsters when what we need is a couple of seasoned professionals, (that Warburton himself has stated) .

We desperately need a defensive midfield player and Eustace would have been the perfect answer had that deal materialised.

At the end of the day we could struggle if we have any injuries or suspensions.

We don't have a proven defensive midfield player on our books, we have no worthwhile cover at fullback and if all the young players go out on loan then we will be threadbare up front as well.

God only knows where the resources are going to come from for the much needed quality players that we need to acquire for next season.

Obviously King was Banking on winning $1 billion on the Texas Lottery for the promised £30m he was going to spend on the team!
