Had a text from my mate this evening saying Rangers are close to signing a Croatian striker called Ante Budimir, he plays in Italy on loan from Hamburg apparently. Never heard of him and my mate is usually wrong about these things but he reckons a deal is close.

He's on the books of St Pauli, Hamburg's great enemies and pals with the green mob, and has a bit of a scoring record, but that's all on wiki. Not sure about Warbs cracking the foreign markets yet. That takes a lot of scouting organisation and payments to scouting agencies across the continent.

Deeb i thought they only got money when a signing was made, why pay them for anything else. scouting is there job, no signing no money at all, maybe I've got it wrongq?

Agents don't scout. Scouts and football directors do that. Scouts act on the actual contracts

I was talking about scouting agencies, not player agents. Scouting agencies are used in place of club scouts when the club can't afford to scout in a certain region. They charge fees for scouting and even information provided and often a "signing on" fee is payable by clubs to use these services. And I've never known a club director to scout in my life as they usually know very little about the game.

A very good mate of mine who is currently working up in aberdeen in the construction industry gave me a very good scoop half an hour ago, he told me the talk up there and he has it on very good authority that in the close season cammy bell is going to aberdeen and we're getting a young midfielder called craig storrie from them, supposedly our chief scout has been raving to warburton about signing young storrie since he took the job and frank mcparland knows a player alright! bears!

I know nothing about young Storie other than that he's played 10 games this season. Not entirely sure where and why we would want him but Warbs15 has a knack for the facts.

He's the type of player we should be looking at that could make all the difference. Good experience at a high level. One or two of that calibre and another few youngsters and I'd be a happy man. Would love an experienced CB in the mound of weir as well.

Would love Dorrans, 2 right good gers men in the middle of the park in Halliday and Dorrans, but i'm still too sceptical that a deal can be done considering the money he currently commands.

If they get relegated they may want to sell as they'd have to pay WBA another 1mil so may want to cut there losses rather than fork out another 1mil, be a coup if it was true.

I'm hearing that because Crewe are going down to Div2, Frank McParland fancies at least THREE of their young players, goalkeeper Ben Garratt, centre half Ben Nugent and striker Callum Saunders, Dean Saunders's son. Check them out, I don't know much about any of them, but this is a seriously strong tip.

Not boasting, Teddy, but I have a number of contacts through my job. This comes from someone who runs a scouting agency in the Midlands. He's only ever told me one thing before and that came good, so I don't think it's just talk. I'd like to hear if anyone knows anything about these guys, though.

Just checked out these 3 lads myself. Keeper is a regular in England youth squads and is attracting lots of interest. Nugent seemingly a giant of a lad, 23 year old centre half and ex Cardiff City. Saunders is 20 and just completed his second season in the team. But that's it, all off the Crewe website. You never know.

{Ed001's Note - Ben Garratt has been watched by a number of clubs including West Ham and Arsenal amongst others. He is seen as a future England international.
Ben Nugent has interest from a few Championship clubs, though I think he will probably stay another season by the sounds of it.
Callum Saunders will take his dad's advice, but Swansea and Cardiff are both very keen on him, so it might be a tough sell.}

Wee-Ecky, I have seen both Garret and Nugent play on several occasions and both would be fantastic signings, I think Garretts stock is pretty high due to his involment in the England set up.

Glad somebody's actually seen them Scotty. I think they could be typical Warburton targets, right age, right experience, right pedigree. As I say, you never know, I did say there was lots of interest in the keeper. Maybe early enquiries have been made?
