Whyte has just released a statement within the last hour.

http://m.stv.tv/sport/football/scottish-premier/rangers/298342-craig-whyte-statement-in-full/

Don't believe anything he says anymore. Everything else has been a lie.

Believable51 Unbelievable14

He says he's on the line for £27 million.
But I doubt very much that he has even £1 million that's his *own* money.

Agree0 Disagree0

That was earlier today not an hour ago old news

TB

Agree0 Disagree0

Whyte is a total and utter liar, I struggle with this statement and his response to a lot of the questions. I query his motives and what he was looking to get out of all of this. All he has done is put our great club on the brink of oblivion. We will not die but we are going to be pretty f**ked for the next five to ten seasons. Thanks Craig Whyte, much appreciated.

Agree0 Disagree0

Come on lads , Mr Whyte may never see that £1 again. Hope he sticks to his words and gets to france!.

CJM

Agree0 Disagree0

He has just stepped down as director of Pritchards stockbroking company basec in Bournemouth, as the FSA has frozen its assets as it seems he has been using clients money for other purposes, including my £15000 which i cannot get hold of now to complete my house build...i have a few choice words i would like to say to Mrt Whyte....!

Agree0 Disagree0

But also, Murray wouldn't have done us any better! He got us in this mess, and he is secretly getting away with it. But look at the outcome anyway, we have several parties interested. Lets hope someone decent and wealthy gets a hold of us. I believe he has done wrong yes, but he keeps his cards close to his chest and I can see how some of the things he has done has been a good idea. Ticketus I don't follow, but I think that was from a business sense, if we went bust, he wouldn't loose personal cash but if we pull through he could inject personal cash without HMRC looming. This has been on the table for years and he was the only one willing to step up to the plate. Like Clyde 1 said, he took on too much. People like Martin Bain should be getting a good shouting at too! He was in gers for the money. I think in the end Whyte could be made out to be not as bad a we think. Its hard to say but what has he done? Most of this s**t is from the old board. We could have had Tom Hunter there and we'd probably still have similar problems. Whyte is right when he says 15 million a loss a year is not a way to run the club! This is true... The dump at the other end of the city runs on a profit ffs! We must have some serious errors!

Agree0 Disagree0

If you don't believe what he says the why read the guff?

Agree0 Disagree0

He never paid me for blocked drains 75 pound 2 years now

Daily Record will run story tomorrow that will shed a light on Craig Whyte and where the money trail ends
It doesn't matter who steps into the club we can forget about another spl title fpr at least 10 years and everybody who thinks Paul Murray is the saviour remember this man was on the board whrn the EBT payments started !

Believable66 Unbelievable29

Ebt's werent illegal when they were first being set up

Agree0 Disagree0

Another daily record exclusive,so where does the money trail end as you put it?

Agree0 Disagree0

Naw theyl no , tedbear

Agree0 Disagree0

Listen u clown there is no way we will not win the league for 10 yrs thats just a ridiculous statement to make when i dont know whats going to happen

Agree0 Disagree0

Ebt's were not ıllegal tıll 2010

Agree0 Disagree0

Ebt only became illegal in 2010 do ur research

TB

Agree0 Disagree0

Driving isn't illegal but depends how you do it....over 70mph..illegal, drunk..illegal....see where I'm going with this regarding EBT's

Agree0 Disagree0

EBTs were legal to some degree but not in the manner they were used by Rangers.

Agree0 Disagree0

I suggest u do your research rangers didnt misuse them 5000 companies in uk are waiting to hear the outcome of this players left the uk with the contents of the rbt accounts of which wen u empty account tax should be paid and this wasnt done however this hasnt been enforced until now thats why appeal search article by andrew smith in the scotsman n hav a read

Agree0 Disagree0

Listen mate all this pish about us becoming weaker and not winning the championship for a decade is utter nonesence , this isnt the spanish or italian league we play in its the spl and the toms are just as bad if not worse than we are just now , we will become a more organised club and we will defo get stronger after we come through this

Agree0 Disagree0

EBT's are NOT illegal full stop. They cannot however be used for contractual purposes, ie players wages. Rangers used EBT's to bypass tax and NI contributions for partial wage payments to players, hence the reason that hector wants his money back.

Agree0 Disagree0

No they werent go n do ur research ur just wrong not got a clue if it was that simple dont u think there wd hav bn no grounds for appEal bloody hell go n gt educated another sad timmy me thinks

Agree0 Disagree0

We should remember that the last board did seek sound legal advise and I think EBT's at the time of use were perfectly legal. We all lived the dream when we over spent on tranfser fees and wages to we should be mindful of that when critising David Murray and the board. The biggest mistake was letting Whyte buy Rangers and even them most of the old board did their utmost to warn us. Barry

Agree0 Disagree0

In a nutshell we need to win the big tax case to remain as Rangers FC. Or else its curtains. I don't know if we will win it or not. But its the one bit of good news we'd deserve.

Agree0 Disagree0

The same newspaper that said Mr Whyte's personal wealth was off the scale.

CJM

Agree0 Disagree0

Paul Murray was not on the board when the EBT's were set up

Agree0 Disagree0

Everybody is jumping the gun see how the admin goes firstly the big tax case is a differnt issue rangers could win it if they dont see how it goes from there nothings certain so far

Believable8 Unbelievable4

21 Feb 2012 17:54:47
According to news articles and comments by Whyte, Rangers offered to make payments by instalments to HMRC if they lost the case and they refused. Also, the money 'frozen' by courts due to claims by HMRC and former Rangers executives (Bain, Johnstone) was a large part of the reason that Rangers couldn't make full payments of current year tax & NI, though again an offer was apparently made and refused by HMRC. Could all come out yet.

Believable15 Unbelievable24

Wake up m8. whyte is a liar fact cant believe a word he says. why is he hiding in costa rica. not 2 forget murrays part in this.

Agree0 Disagree0

Do you still believe anything he says? He said in that same statement that he only sold 3 years of season tickets to ticketus, not the 4 that had been reported, documents recovered today from companies house say it is in fact 4.

Agree0 Disagree0

Why didn't they accept the £9 million bid for Jelavic in the summer, that would have prevented administration occurring. This has always been the plan it is the only way CW can make a profit and that after all is his main objective. If he steps down as chairman he will remain as the landlord of RFC, very lucrative

Agree0 Disagree0

The WHTYE KNIGHT is living it up in the sun thanks to all the fans who turn up at the DEBT DOOM week in week out, KEEP UP THE GREAT WORK MR WHTYE WE ARE RIGHT BEHIND YOU...

Agree0 Disagree0

The tumbleweeds blows across a dusty ibrox,in rides cowboy whyte the BILLIONARE gunslinger!tells the folks of the land lie, after lie,yet they put their faith in there

Agree0 Disagree0

His payment scheme was over 20 years ffs the mans more neck than a giraffe

Agree0 Disagree0

Anything that is a quote from Whyte, is probably not true

Agree0 Disagree0

21 Feb 2012 17:31:52
Administrators say 18m of the ticketus money went to Lloyds, Whyte now admits it.

Administrators also say they are not clear on what happened to the rest of the ticketus money

Watch out for an introduction fee or commission fee for brokering the rangers/ ticketus deal - to a Craig Whyte company

Believable31 Unbelievable4

The £6m most likely went to David Murray. It was repeatedly said that he would be looking to recoup the £6m he paid for the club during the sale process.

Agree0 Disagree0

Can anyone remember Whyte saying the debt to Loyds that he had 'taken on' would be waived if we won the tax case...cant see how that fits in with todays news...

Agree0 Disagree0

I agree DM must have known about this deal. i used to think Whtye and Murray had a plan but i didn't think it was this one. The only reason DM took so long to find a buyer was he wanted as much back-handed cash as possible (no true Rangers fan would except that). The biggest problems we are going to face now are the fact the club owns no assets due to DM moving these into different business and the fact Whyte say a couple of weeks ago we are only turning over £30m PA is a big concern! Without europe we used to turn over £50m! i can't believe DM has done this to us!

Agree0 Disagree0

Time will tell

I'm confident enough on this

Glasgow Rangers and Carlisle United huge story developing in Scotsman press office .

Believable28 Unbelievable24

Regarding what exactlly ?????

Agree0 Disagree0

Carlisle Rangers i like the sound of that scottish football would survive...we'll see

Agree0 Disagree0

Stop dreaming. We are not taking their place in the English leagues

Agree0 Disagree0

Carlisle cancel friendly with Celtic for fear that Rangers fans will stop off at Carlisle on their way back from Blackpool. Sorry to steal your thunder m8.

Agree0 Disagree0

Mite be a bit slow here what r u on about

Agree0 Disagree0

So what is the supposed story?

Agree0 Disagree0

What is your source? are we joining english football?

Agree0 Disagree0

Closest English club to Glasgow. Get ready for a feeder club/b team. Buyout then rattle up the leagues to the promised land of the Epl!

Agree0 Disagree0

Only a runner in the Scotsman building but senior editors are in office discussing story, all we underlings have been told is regards rangers and Carlisle. But I can tell you they are exited, app sun has same story

Agree0 Disagree0

Eh, that was last summer...

Agree0 Disagree0

Feeder team? We can't feed our own team!
SNM

Agree0 Disagree0

Will never happen

Agree0 Disagree0

More likely Carlisle will use Rangers as a feeder club.

Sky sports news reporting craig whyte has vowed to walk away from rangers once they are out of administration.....yeah mr whyte with your pockets filled!

Believable28 Unbelievable7

Ha ha ha ha thats what happens when you sell your soul to the devil. reap what you sow we are going for ten in a row

Agree0 Disagree0

Hope not, The man is a living celtic legend, I mine what a return for a £1 he is due aleast £18 million LOL.LOL. PLEASE STAY MR WHTYE......

Agree0 Disagree0

Craig Wyhte will not run away with any profit from rangers football club.If justice becomes of the wee mans transactions this time. There will be no alleged annonamous shares in monoco, like his last company when he liquidated 12 years ago.QuoteALLEGEDLY and many peoples jobs were lost.He is now playing with the big boys, with 177 jobs in question.Hope he gets his just rewards. How long can cheif indian whyte last.He speaketh with FORKED TOUNGE. Freedom of speech.Think wee man is going for a long haul, NOT MONOCOthis time, BARLLINIE, se how he does his transactions of buissens in there.PS.Where does people think his long tearm future holds in GLASGOW.

Agree0 Disagree0

Every penny of Craig Whyte's personal fortune has been earned by stealing money from people. But in such a way that he doesn't ever implicate himself. This man has no scruples at all. And David Murray is ultimately to blame for letting this happen.

Whyte admits using 24m from sale of tickets to fund takeover. Stv

Believable21 Unbelievable7

21 Feb 2012 15:46:36
Whyte gets £24.4m from Ticketus, pays of Lloyds debt of £18m using this money and gets floating charge over club.

Basically the fans have paid of the Lloyds debt and Whyte got the club for £1.

Believable36 Unbelievable8

The fans havent paid - yet. Who is going to buy a season ticket now?

Agree0 Disagree0

How can he own the club then if it was the fans the paid for it . and it was murray who said hed have to pay 18 million off to be the owner

Agree0 Disagree0

Long suspected this was the case...what an absolute charlatan of a man....what amazes me is just how he expected to keep it covered up and also what his end game is! If he walks away from this sorry situation with anything more that his quid then I would hate to be in his shoes!

Agree0 Disagree0

Just heard said it all along he has put a penny into the club! All hes done is put this club in the gutter claims hes a rangers fan is he hell!! A big club like rangers in buys it for a pound god any1 in the world cud have done what hes done! But not everyone has the money he has, he really shud be jailed without a doubt!!

Agree0 Disagree0

Were has the remainder of 6.4 went

Agree0 Disagree0

The guy is a crook. He borrows £24.4m, pays off the £18m debt with it. Rangers are then lumbered with the Ticketus debt and he is the main creditor who is to get his £18m back. The Yanks did this to Liverpool and Man Utd and lumbered them with large debts.

Agree0 Disagree0

On Scotland today at 6pm. The saga goes on

Agree0 Disagree0

Problem is how did he manage to get ticketus to advance him cash for something he didnt own unless he is in cahoots with them and if you his web of deceit you see he is

what happens if nobody buys a ticket next season?????

Agree0 Disagree0

That is entirely true and he isnt hiding that fact anymore, although if he had been more open from the start then people might understand more. what people dont realise is that the money from ticketus (which is not a loan as they own the tickets now) is secured against another of Whyte's companies. therefor he is liable, not Rangers. This paid off lloyds 18 million with the rest keeping the club running (still at a loss). it was other factors, primarily former employees ring fencing funds, that forced us into administration. The ticketus money will only become an issue if fans dont buy season tickets over the next two years. I firmly believe that Whyte has a plan and shudder to think what state we would be in (liquidation) if he hadnt done what anyone else wouldn't dare. He is a Rangers man and we shouldn't forget that. he is also very smart and surely understands the consequences of putting Glasgow Rangers out of Business for good, where could he hide?

Agree0 Disagree0

Would this not make Rangers a creditor to Craig Whyte and they can demand that payment back from him to put toward any other debt to the administrators?

Agree0 Disagree0

How could ticketus hand over that amount of money without any guarantee from David Murray or Lloyds that he would be sold the club. I think those three need to be investigated also.

Agree0 Disagree0

Great to see some Rangers fans still clicking the Unbelievable button.

In Whyte you Trust.

Agree0 Disagree0

This isn't what has happened though. While the initial cash brought in from this deal has been used if we don't bring in the sum required to cover the deal then White is liable for that deficit not the club. I want to dislike him for what he has done but I feel he has a lot more financial knowledge than us fans and we would have been at this point sooner had he not stepped in. If we come out stronger for it I for one will see white as a good thing for the club. If not then we can lynch him then!

Agree0 Disagree0

To the guy who said:

"That is entirely true and he isnt hiding that fact anymore, although if he had been more open from the start then people might understand more. what people dont realise is that the money from ticketus (which is not a loan as they own the tickets now) is secured against another of Whyte's companies. therefor he is liable, not Rangers. He is a Rangers man and we shouldn't forget that. he is also very smart and surely understands the consequences of putting Glasgow Rangers out of Business for good, where could he hide?"

What planet are you on?

Agree0 Disagree0

He paid with last season's money

Agree0 Disagree0

If the ticketus deal is over 4 years what would happen if not on rangers fan renewed their books and just bought individual match day tickets.

Agree0 Disagree0

The cash would have been advanced conditional upon the deal to purchase the club going through. If that didn't happen then Ticketus would have got their money back plus a little bit on top for their interest. Whyte took a gamble.

Agree0 Disagree0

Wot do u mean with ur post above. i believe in our whyte knight and as a true fan which ur obviously not i do believe in our man. Craig u should be knighted one day and our many fans will come groveling back to u!!
GIVE THE MAN A CHANCE.

Agree0 Disagree0

I'm on planet reality. Do you seriously think we wouldn't be in administration if sdm was still in charge? He was skint and sold his beloved rangers for a single pound and then vanished. The only thing whyte is guilty of is being a mug. NO ONE else stepped up with a plan, even a bad one. Sdm said he would only sell if the buyer could prove he had funds to wipe out debt and take club forward, how was 24 or even 54 million going to do that. He knew the full extent of our problems cos he created them. Rat from a sinking ship!

Agree0 Disagree0

Craig Whyte at the end of the day is a businessman...

What he saw in Rangers was an opportunity to make money.

He done what all great businessmen do, use other peoples money for their own gain. All businesses do it whether they get it from a bank or from a friend... in this case Craig Whyte raised capital by using fans season tickets. In reality ANYONE who has good business and financial knowledge and had a spare pound could have done it.

I am certain there is more on this to come out but Whyte has effectively turned his £1 coin into millions of £1 coins and walked away which from a business point of view is an excellent investment!

He may say he's a Rangers fan, but while 40,000 season ticket holders where turning up for every game over the past 10 or 20 years, he was building a business empire and making millions. Ask him if he had to chose between Rangers and his bank account, we all know what he'd chose.

Agree0 Disagree0

Shocking and its the working class rangers fans who will have to stump up hard earned cash to get the club out of this mess hang your head in shame mr whyte

The Scottish Football Association (SFA) have appointed Lord William Nimmo Smith to chair their inquiry into recent activities at Rangers.
Rangers fans have received assurances that the club's future is safe
Lord Nimmo Smith has served as an insolvency Judge and was one of five judges who heard the appeal of Lockerbie bomber Abdelbaset al-Megrahi in 2002.

The SFA announced the inquiry on Friday - three days after Rangers went into administration.

The probe will focus specifically on whether there have been any breaches of their Articles of Association, relating to rules regarding whether club officials are "fit and proper" to hold such positions. jsm

Believable13 Unbelievable6

So whyte is improper ...then what does it get the money back

Agree0 Disagree0

Well I think it's safe to say that nearly every p!ssing rules been broken. PaulRFC

Agree0 Disagree0

Too late , the money has gone.......whyte has done this multiple times, still unbeaten!

Agree0 Disagree0

No one can give assurances that Rangers future is safe whilst the club are in administration.

RANGERS boss Ally McCoist and his top-team squad will today plead with administrators for the chance to foot the bill of keeping their football club intact.
McCoist has held a series of heart-to-heart talks with his shell-shocked players, and captain Steve Davis in particular, as the dressing room braces itself for the cost-cutting plans expected to be announced by London firm Duff and Phelps before the end of this week.
And Record Sport understands the manager and his players could attempt to safeguard jobs across the
club – from the tea ladies to the ticket office staff – by cutting thousands of pounds off their own wages instead.
The big-hearted plan will all hinge on the scale of the cutbacks required to mend the financial crisis which absent owner Craig Whyte has left behind during his disastrous reign.
If the damage is too severe not even McCoist and his players will be able to fix it on their own.
However, the Rangers manager believes there is a willingness among a majority of his men to sacrifice what they can for the cause.

Believable23 Unbelievable20

What they're going to pay the £3.75m a month running costs.

Agree0 Disagree0

This is rubbish. The value of wages leaving the rangers accounts cannot be changed from the contractual amount. If that was to change, a new contract would need to be drawn up meaning a re-registration with the SPL under a new contract. So unless rangers want to then pay loads of people that then can't play, then I'd say this is a nonsense!
Source: in part SPL rule book {Ed001's Note - the players can donate part of their wages freely, so it is not rubbish.}

Agree0 Disagree0

Not a Rangers fan, but I'd like to pay tribute to the way that All McCoist has behaved, a true servant of his club

Agree0 Disagree0

If this is true, and I have no reason to disbelieve it, then major respect to ally and his men. Can't disagree the man is rangers to the core. HAIL HAIL MMI2009

Agree0 Disagree0

I come in peace, i hope it goes ahead and the players do do their bit, hats off to them for it,H/H

Agree0 Disagree0

Any wages donated would be taxable,to who ever they were donated to.

Celtic fan in peace: when I get a chance i will ask ( a senior first team player) and post back. If this Is the case then Major Respect to Ally and his team. HH

strong rumour that whittaker, davis and mcgregor- the three players offered big contracts are not owned by rangers.

Believable24 Unbelievable40

Total nonsense! Players can only be owned by the club when they register them with SFA!!

Agree0 Disagree0

Yes, and also means that if true, they are ineligable to play. Since at least one has played in each game this season that will mean that when a score of 3-0 to the opposing team is enforced, rangers will be on -10 for the season facing relegation.

Surely Whyte hasn't been this wreckless and Gordon Smith??

Agree0 Disagree0

I just posted something similar, heard this last night. Apparently this breaks 3rd party player ownership rules and could see us docked EVERY point, leaving us on -10.
Seems too bleak to be true but nothing really surprises me anymore.

The Wanderer

Agree0 Disagree0

If That's true, you could well have problems with UEFA on top of everything else, the penalties for fielding ineligible players are severe

Agree0 Disagree0

It's a timmy rumour to suit timmys agenda

Agree0 Disagree0

The only way this is possible is if both the SPL and SFA have permitted player registration from a 13th team in the SPL. Which is a nonsense.

Agree0 Disagree0

Is it a timmy rumour like administration and Whyte using the Ticketus money to show Murray he had some cash in his account?

Not saying this is true but you guys would have been a lot more clued up if you had paid attention to some of the things you dismissed as timmy rumours.

Ask yourselves this though: Would you honestly be surprised if Whyte has done this after all we have found out about the guy lately?

Agree0 Disagree0

This was on clyde last night & hugh keevins says it a load of b****cks as every player has 2 be registered with the spl & it would have broken the rules straight away
NTYABOW

Agree0 Disagree0

I think this has been blown out of proportion. The players are Rangers players however you look at it. No action is likely to be taken

Agree0 Disagree0

If Keevins says its not true then you're in the clear for sure.

Does Jim Traynor say you've won the tax case and Keith Jackson say Whyte has won the Euro Millions?

Agree0 Disagree0

So you are now relying on Hugh Keevin's journalistic skills to refute this. This may not be true but given what we have seen it is a viable possibility

Agree0 Disagree0

I've also heard that the top players' contracts have been assigned to one of CW's companies held off shore. What I don't understand is how this could be done without the players knowing or agreeing to this. Surely this would invalidate the players' contracts ? Hard to believe, but nothing would surprise me anymore.

Cheshire-based Brian Kennedy has made enquiries about buying Rangers fc. With an estimated fortune of £400m his previous companies include Weatherseal Holdings, Everest and Space Kitchens. The edinburgh-born entrepreneur previously owned Stockport County fc and bought Sale sharks rugby club in 1999. He generously gave financial backing to the parents of missing Madeleine McCann.

Believable32 Unbelievable17

400 million is not enough, we need more like 1 trillion to win the spl because motherwell is going to be the team to beat next year

Agree0 Disagree0

400 million that's what it will take to clear the debt

Agree0 Disagree0

Google him and you will find he is worth eight times that amount .

Agree0 Disagree0

SPACE KITCHENS!! NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO They are still phoning me 6 years after 1 of their salesmen spent 4 hours in my house, say it aint so! WATP

Agree0 Disagree0

His fortune is 3.25billion

Agree0 Disagree0

From Craig Whyte to a Double Glazing Salesman - you couldn't give it up.

If you don't buy a season book he comes andf sits in your house for 10 hours till you buy one.

Agree0 Disagree0

Above post is correct fortune of 3.25 billion

Agree0 Disagree0

I wish all these billionaires would stop harrasing the Administrators, And let them get on with the job of sorting this mess out, if all the rumours on here where even a bit true, They would have bought in when Murry had it up for sale for 3 years, No man got rich by wasting his money on a lost cause, if we are to be saved it will have to come from the fans, and a lot of hard times.

Agree0 Disagree0

I wrote the above post and i stand corrected, he is worth £3.25 billion. if that is the case then surely this guy must be a serious contender. according to bbc football there are 'hundreds' of enquiries about buying rangers.

Agree0 Disagree0

Yeah he did run stockport county strasight into administration

Agree0 Disagree0

He has a fortune of around £3.5bn.

Agree0 Disagree0

So you are based in the North West of England and you have 3.25 billion in your bank and you buy Stockport County FC. Its like winning the lottery and buying a Ford Fiesta. You couldn't make it up

ed. all im hearing about this tax case is hmrc will appeal again and again until they get a decision that suits them. is this the case? surely you can only appeal a certain number of times? i would have thought anyway. and for talking sake if we did get a decision for us n then they go n appeal n get a decision in their favour then would we appeal?? who says enoughs enough??
j1985 {Ed001's Note - they can appeal, if the conditions are met, but they can't appeal repeatedly without grounds to do so. If there were no grounds for an appeal it would be rejected by the judge.}

Believable18 Unbelievable5

They can appeal once, the same for Rangers...which is inevitable...both parties, no matter who wins will appeal, this tax issue wont be over until at least 2014

Ed see if rangers have to change our name does that mean the end of the sky tv deal because the old firm Derby losses its history. {Ed001's Note - if Rangers have to change their name, they would no longer be the same club and would have to apply for election into the SPL. They might well not get elected, if the SFL get their way they wouldn't! It would be a huge boost to the lower league part time teams to get to play against Rangers. As for the Sky deal, I very much doubt there is a specific clause relating to which teams are in the league, it would be viewed very dimly by UEFA if so. But there will be numerous clauses allowing either party to end the deal, I would think that Sky would have one on viewing figures, which they would invoke.}

Believable6 Unbelievable9

Think SKY have the rights to the 4 spl games, but its not a deal breaker if it doesn't happen if one of them gets relegated

bill72

Agree0 Disagree0

The deal with sky consists of both Rangers and celtic being in the premier league

Agree0 Disagree0

Sky have the right to remove their contract at any time ! FACT
ballyboy

Agree0 Disagree0

Ballyboy, you're thinking about your sky tv contract cos you've not been paying it.

Agree0 Disagree0

There is no way Rangers can apply directly to the SPL in these circumstances. the rules are clear in the event of a club being liquidated there will be no relegation and normal promotion from the league below. Logically then everyone shuffles up one place and an opening occurs in the lowest league, which rangers along with any other interested club can apply for

Agree0 Disagree0

In reply to "ballyboy, you're thinking about your sky tv contract cos you've not been paying it"

I am a sky tv employee and get my sky for free... so unlucky with the smart ass comment TIMMY

BALLYBOY

Agree0 Disagree0

The SPL and the SFL are seperate entities, so Rangers would walk back into the SPL - probably prompted by Sky to make even showing any Scottish games on tv again at least a little bit worthwhile. - pete

Can davie odds predict the future?no one knows where Rangers will be in 1month never mind the summer.could well be that a new owner comes in and wants them to stay.Or like the last 2 Windows there is no interest shown so think your message stinks of the smelly stuff.

Agree0 Disagree0

Hope they do a much needed 10 million for the club, which if we get a buyer , we can invest in two better players(i dont really count magzie in that but i do believe you can sign a good goalkeeper on the cheap if needs be, Marion Kello on a free for example, so he could be a valuable asset)

The most scary thing to be read is that if we win the tax case then HMRC will appeal, appeal, appeal and cause years of uncertainty.

Can anyone confirm if this has been stated by anyone else other than Craig Whyte?

I think it's another case if smoke and mirrors by him and another wee Whyte lie.

BFH

Believable20 Unbelievable5

It is a judges decision if they are permitted to appeal again and they will only get it if they have new evidence which they wont have as this case has dragged on long enough they have played all their cards as have we. Complete bull from Whyte. What i would say is the tax case has been going on far too long for a full victory for HMRC as expected. I would guess at split liabilities.

Agree0 Disagree0

In theory they can however there has to be grounds for the appeal. The two previous high profile cases,Dextra (Phones4u) and Sempra Metals, have been lost by HMRC and they are using us as scare tactic to try to get others to settle EBT cases even though they were legal until Dec 2010. Interestingly HMRC offered an amnisty to all EBT users last year if they paid PAYE / NI on thier loans, which has already been defeated. If defeated again, by us, HMRC stated that no refunds would be given to anyone settling because by paying they had admitted their guilt! Basically HMRC are using bully boy tactics with us as the stick.

Agree0 Disagree0

But they are being a**eholes though, all they want is a fair outcome, so if they want to appeal and appeal again well am sorry that's just being fair! (Loyal Bear)

Agree0 Disagree0

To the first response - you do not appeal on new evidence. You appeal on the decision based on the evidence alreday presented.

Agree0 Disagree0

No they wont appeal, appeal, can only appeal once and thats it

the rumours that I am hearing is that the new york giants owner is the american multi millionaire interested in taking over rangers.
from my sources in america i have came to understand that the deal was put to John Mara, Steve Tisch (the new york giants owner) by none other than their close friend and former rangers chief executive alistair johnstone.

Money for nothing: Whyte used £24m Ticketus deal to pay off bank

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-2104025/Craig-Whyte-used-24m-Ticketus-money-pay-bank.html

Believable33 Unbelievable7

This guy is a complete disgrace, Murray ought to be ashamed of himself selling to this guy. Surely the ticketus money can't be secured against anything rangers own, as he didn't actually own any of it at the time the deal was brokered?

Agree0 Disagree0

Can't understand how he managed to get them to give him a loan when he didn't own it? Smells fishy and I think Murray knew all about it. They've been trying to use every loophole possible. No way a financial company would lend to him without dm knowing. That's like going to the bank, asking for a loan in someone else's name and putting it in your account. Fraud! He'd have to have proof that he owned the club. Fishy fishy. Dm and cw have been doing dodgy deals and wrecked your club to line their own pockets

Agree0 Disagree0

So basically one man arrives with ONE POUND to his name. and destroys the biggest club in scotland. unbelievable.
And I'm not even 100% sure from all this whether he has actually broken any law. How has this been allowed to happen?

Agree0 Disagree0

That guy is a complete fool, doing this to a normal business is one thing but to do this to half of the old firm. for a lot of people its more than football - its life, religion ect. ill say one thing hes got balls, unfortunatly for him there was 50,000 on saturday that wanted to cut them off lol

im no business mind - but how could whyte have got access to that money before he took over - you dont just phone ticketus and say "im taking over rangers, ill sell you the season books for x amount"

is there anyway that the ticketus deal would be void ed?

ryanrfc

Agree0 Disagree0

Ryan so what your saying is if he done this to say a local builders that is fine but because4 he has done this to Rangers it is wrong.

This man has been found guilty of breaking rules with regards to companies. He was struck off and couldnot be a director of a company for 7 years. He should not be allowed anywhere near any company.

But saying that Murray and Lloyds should be looked into. What happened to Murray's statement that he would only sell to someone that had Rangers best interests at heart.

Ian(For every £1 Celtic spend Rangers will pay their creditors 10p)

Agree0 Disagree0

This doesnt change the fact that Whyte said 30 odd million of his own money is tied up in the club. so where is THAT money?

Agree0 Disagree0

Like i said yesterday and got hammered for it, and i quote

"Rangers will win the HMRC case, but HMRC will appeal and will lose. Rangers will NOT have to pay the "monies due" because they aren't due and the EBT's were legal until December 2010. Major clubs around the UK are watching this case and will be relieved when it goes in favour of Rangers. (((((The £18mil used to pay off Llyods was money taken from the sales of the Tickets for the next 4 years, CW hasn't spent a penny of his own money because he has no need to.)))) The tax case decision will benefit Rangers and CW. CW will be forced to sell, which is what he is wanting to happen because he was only ever planning a "hit and run" profit scheme at Rangers. He will make approx £10-20 million in a deal to sell Rangers onto another, more affluent owner who will financially secure Rangers long term.

By the end of spring, Rangers will be owned by someone else and will have won their tax case, the summer transfer window will be a flurry with Rangers activity and a new sense of purpose and drive will be installed, still with Ally at the helm

See the bit above in the brackets...

I'm lost as to why there are so many sincere Rangers fans on here who are surprised by the business ethics of a man who wants a quick "Hit and Run" profit.

It's easy to see things in a different light, just open your eyes because most of you have your eyes wide shut

Agree0 Disagree0

There is somthing increadbly fishy about.this situation. It seems fairly obvious that admin was the plan from day one. It now appears that whyte was brought in with this in mind to put us under. Possibly to rid us of the hmrc cases which have clearly been known about for a number of years and prevented potential buyers/investors in the club.

Agree0 Disagree0

There's a rumour whites dad owned ticketus the way things are goin wouldn't be a surprise

Agree0 Disagree0

Answer me this : If Whyte stands to make 10 - 20 million when Rangers is sold, where were those buyers last summer when they could have got the club a lot cheaper?

Agree0 Disagree0

Ed is this how it works you phone up Ticketus tell them you will sell x amount tickets for the xt 4years if you give me 24.4million up front.ok mate sounds good to us by the way do you own Rangers.naw not the noo but if you gees the money I'll buy it in 4weeks time.if it was not so f****** serious you would think it was a script out of money python.

,d {Ed001's Note - it is scary to think that this could happen, they must have had some formal contractual guarantees, or the owner have some kind of close connection with Whyte to trust him to have the money in advance.}

Agree0 Disagree0

In response to the previous post. Again as i said earlier. this tax cas has been known about for years. There have been whispers of it for a lobg time now so why oh why would any potential buyer who is looking to drive the club forward buy us last year. This is why I feel craig whyte was brought in. Hit and run both parties benefit. Although i view CW as a lying rat, i think well look back on these few months and see them as the turning point in our fortunes, not the beginning of the end as some papers would percieve it.

Agree0 Disagree0

I really dont understand some of you lot. CW is the only man who had the balls to step up and take the gamble that he could win this tax case, which it now looks like he will! I believed in him from the start. What is going to happen now is that Rangers will emerge debt free in about a months time and will be able to build a strong team and bring the title back to its rightful home. Get off the guys back nobody else was interested.

Agree0 Disagree0

Although i feel we will come out of this stronger than ever, i find it hard to believe that this is what drives whyte. Whyte was brought in to do a job by people who care about the club. People who will most likely take over within the coming weeks. Whyte is only in it for what he can get out of it, administration then sale of the club has been the plan all along. Mutually beneficial in the long run

Agree0 Disagree0

Even with everything that has come out you still believe in Craig Whyte you must have a really long neck as your head is buried so deep in the sand that you cant see a crook when he is looking straight at you. Sorry when he is turning his back on you and getting as far away from the club as possible.

What will it take for you to understand he was in for a quick buck he is not interested in You or Rangers he is only interested in MONEY ££££££$$$$$$.

Ian(For every £1 Celtic spend Rangers will pay their creditors 10p)

Agree0 Disagree0

Totally agree Ian.

He's in it for the money...a quick 20million in and out. To the poster above who asked "why didn't anyone else buy us years ago when we were struggling for a buyer"?, well that's easy...SDM wouldn't sell to someone who wasn't prepared to put it into admin. CW was that man because he doesn't really care about his already tarnished rep. Now that its been put into admin, the buyers are lining up.

SIMPLE BUSINESS people, SIMPLE BUSINESS

Jamie

Agree0 Disagree0

This is quite similar to the type of transactions which led to the "Wall Street Crash".

People would borrow money in order to buy shares in a company with the loan being secured on the potential value of the shares.

Has anybody else heard of this?

BigBear1873

Agree0 Disagree0

If the money to buy the club came from the season tickets then if we give White his pound back does that mean the club should be owned by the fans then.

Ed have you heard anything regarding who will be the first to be shown the door ? I'd imagine some will be this week {Ed001's Note - nothing reliable, what I am being told smacked far too much of personal opinion. I would suggest you look at those with short contracts, because they are the ones likely to be released early. The administrators will try and sell the ones with a decent length of contract in the summer.}
