goo.gl/Zr17Km

19 Aug 2016 18:53:10
Wonder why it's taking the club so long to announce.

19 Aug 2016 20:21:59
Welcome to the club Mr Garner, your life is about to change πŸ”΄βšͺοΈπŸ”΅.

19 Aug 2016 21:04:55
Deal fell through Rangers saying failed a medical but fact was board retracted his fee for his contract.

19 Aug 2016 23:03:49
Glory hibs, we ain't talking about lescot, more to the point, away and worry about Falkirk, st mirren, Dundee Utd and your European opponents. oh.

19 Aug 2016 23:24:04
Think you mean lescott. Hows life in championship anyway?

20 Aug 2016 01:19:17
Just watched a few clips of Senderos, there's no messin about wae the big guy when it comes to tackles, headers and clearences, he gets right in amongst it btw, i'm sure he'l be a hit if we get him signed up soon as man.

20 Aug 2016 08:19:44
He's an absolute bombscare!

20 Aug 2016 09:36:06
I agree Rick big senderos has got a great cv but he hasn't fulfilled his early potential he showed at arsenal but I also understand where we are at the moment regarding signing players, so hopefully if we do sign him he can do us a turn.

20 Aug 2016 11:25:58
Giving senderos a 2 year deal is a bad joke.

20 Aug 2016 11:48:40
Ok senderos might not be the quickest but he seems to read the game very well, and solid in the air a bit like Davie weir. Also looks a threat from corners if decide to put one in the box. Let's face it warbs hasn't really gone wrong so far.

20 Aug 2016 13:49:27
By the way lescott failed the medical with a knee problem HITC.

21 Aug 2016 07:52:06
Jesus ain't seen glory hibs from the 6 2 pumping we gave them over a year ago.

20 Aug 2016 22:56:24
I can only assume they will announce it tomorrow and perhaps parade him at the game.

21 Aug 2016 13:36:11
Senders should be signed and should go straight into our team for Friday. He simply cannot be as bad as Kiernan and Wilson so for me it is a case of take your pick as to which one he replaces. Ideally we will sign a second centre back and relegate both our current centre backs to the bench.

20 Aug 2016 10:14:18
I rather have him in the squad than not while we look for younger players.

19 Aug 2016 18:06:42
Anyone else heard that we are linked with Phillipe mexes?

19 Aug 2016 18:21:21
If we can't afford lescott we can't afford mexes.

19 Aug 2016 18:26:19
I didn't say we could mate, I just asked if anyone had heard this rumour?

19 Aug 2016 19:30:44
He just arrived on a flight from France.

19 Aug 2016 19:47:07
Seriously? Source?

19 Aug 2016 20:16:31
seriously phillipe mexes who next wurzel gummage. i think we will sign senderos and the garner deal will be finalised and that will be it for this transfer window. i still believe if we sign senderos we will still need another centre back unless we are going to turn crooks into a centre back. i don't want this to happen as i do not believe players should be moved from their natural positons. look what happened when gio left he was clearly an attacking midfielder and people changed him to a left back. baffling how some coaches minds work these days.

19 Aug 2016 20:26:23
No chance!

19 Aug 2016 20:33:25
jamesreilly09, Aye look what happened to him! He played for Barcelona and won the Champions League while collecting over 100 caps for Holland.

19 Aug 2016 21:04:21
James Riley T Henry position was winger before wenger put him up front and the rest is history he would never have became the player he was if AW never changed it. FACT.

19 Aug 2016 21:11:28
wee-ecky i am not disputing that but why convert an attacking midfielder into a left back that is my point he was good going forward as a left back i admit that but teams used to play on the fact he was no good going back the way. gio for me was one of our greatest ever players but i did not like the fact he was moved to left back. that's just my opinion others may agree or dis-agree and i am sure ed would not agree with me either but that's what this site is for :)

19 Aug 2016 21:21:21
gannet a winger is playing in an attacking role so therefor could well play anywhere across the front line. this is gio who was an attacking midfielder who was moved to a defensive position. i have done all my football badges so i know that to ask an attacking midfielder to go and play left back is not the best route to take and watching games it was clear that gio was not a left back. again this is my opinion so agree or disagree it won't change my opinion which i am entitled to. wish i had not even posted if it was going to start this. anyway looking forward to tomorrows game heres hoping we can convert our chances this time and it won't be so nervy as the second half of the dundee game was.

19 Aug 2016 19:10:12
Same age as lescott and played for some decent clubs. Wouldn't mind, I'm sure we could afford him.

19 Aug 2016 19:14:47
Mexes that's a whopper get real.

19 Aug 2016 22:53:03
Id say Lescott a classier player than Senderos but tends to down tools in heat of battle. Senderos puts body on line every game. its exactly what we need.

19 Aug 2016 23:17:49
Is gummage a free? think he could be a decent signing that's a great shout.

20 Aug 2016 05:53:06
A scarecrow might do a better job at corners than Wilson and Kiernan. Might be a decent signing Gummage.

20 Aug 2016 08:58:38
Gumage would be OK if MW could sort one of his heads out.

20 Aug 2016 22:35:55
James who has done all his coaching badges πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚ I am a coach too and you are talking absolute rubbish.
Coaching badges hahah aye well done pal who have you coaches your local Sunday pub team?

20 Aug 2016 08:49:05
Blueshaun, DW and RK are decent at corners. Do you expect them to mark an entire opposing team at corners? Goals from corners have been other outfield losing their markers and/ or Wes not being commanding. The most recent at Dundee was Barton. Fair play he held his hands up to it but he must do better. Get off the DW and RK bandwagon please.

19 Aug 2016 17:07:35
Daily Records

DI Matteo said passed med personal terms broke down, back at villa!

19 Aug 2016 18:00:12
He's hardly going to say he's done or he'll never get rid of him all paper's said personal terms where already agreed. Ranger's wouldn't have been Interested if they couldn't pay him.

19 Aug 2016 21:12:32
Lescott's knees are shot that's why he didn't get a deal,

Take it from me I was the one that put the story on here days before the papers got near it.

19 Aug 2016 20:43:49
Always thought you agreed personal terms first then had the medical?

19 Aug 2016 16:09:54
Joe garner agrees 3 yr deal.

19 Aug 2016 16:53:34
How do you know this, is it common knowledge now? SSN, BBC, STV?

19 Aug 2016 17:09:12
Could have saved a fortune and just kept Nicky Clark.
Both proven goal scorers until they stepped up in class and as such just an empty jersey.
Mark my words, this guy is a waste of money.

19 Aug 2016 17:31:35
Difference is Nicky Clark was a proven goal score in a diddy league Garner was not.

19 Aug 2016 17:32:26
What a insane statement.

19 Aug 2016 18:05:28
We will see who's a waste of money gusman.

19 Aug 2016 18:17:16
Gosman u need to stay off the Class a's mate. Why would a rangers fan? be so down on any player WHO has decided to come and play for the worlds most succesful club. hell score a barrowload up here. MARK MY WORDS.

19 Aug 2016 18:28:46
Laudrup exactly.

19 Aug 2016 19:06:55
Nicky Clark? Sombodys got ther weekend off to a flier lol.

19 Aug 2016 19:26:22
Nicky Clark had 2 stints at Rangers and failed miserably and I really thought he would gave set the Heather on fire in the lower divisions!

19 Aug 2016 20:46:30
You guys just made my point on nicky Clark.
An empty jersey when asked to step up.
Garner is and has been proved to be the same.
He can score in 1st division but when he plays in the championship he is a dud if you look at his goal to game ratio.

I have followed the Gers for over 50 years through thick and thin, home and abroad even when we have had a bad team.
However i can make my own mind up on someones ability and worth and this guy is not the answer. Especially at upwards of Β£1.5m.

19 Aug 2016 20:52:36
Here, here Laudrup 86,I just can't understand the negative slant some of our supporters come out with when they should wait to see in this case joe garner playing for us! Very confident garner will be a very good signing for us and imo WILL bang in the goals for us, from what I've seen of garner he reminds me of gary hooper the way he finishes although he's much better in the air than hooper was when he played for them! What do all other fellow bears think regarding this and who does garner remind you of?

19 Aug 2016 21:06:55
Gosman league 1 is a step up in class from spfl.
I remember a Wee ugly striker that plays in the east that couldn't get a game in league 1 not to long ago bang in 40goals last year. FACT
You my friend are clueless.

19 Aug 2016 21:15:28
In case some of you haven't looked at his stats.
In the last 5 seasons, garner has played league 1 and championship.

League 1 approx 100 games and about 50 goals which is very good and is obviously his level.

Step up to championship and in 65 games he scores just 7

I hope our future won't depend on him being our main goal scorer that's for sure.

19 Aug 2016 19:23:28
Go Joe, excited by this signing.

19 Aug 2016 21:53:07
Gosman, you're setting yourself up here for a mighty fall, garner will be terrific for us in the scottish premiership my friend, mark my words, I've seen quite a bit of garner and he scores all kinds of goals, this guy can finish and will be a brilliant signing for us, even if you don't think he'll be good for us would it not be better as a bear to get right behind the guy and wait and see before mouthing off, I truly believe you'll have a big fat goose egg all over your face before the end of the season mate!

19 Aug 2016 23:18:50
Warbs, i would be happy to be proved wrong as i only want the best for my team but in this case i don't think i will.

Strange how many bears seem to have seen this guy do the business. ? lol

Remind me again, how many goals did this guy score in the whole of last season?

20 Aug 2016 00:19:50
He led the line in a defensive system as a lone striker and fought every inch. Why do you think the P. N. E fans are gutted he's leaving? i watch english football its on every weekend :) .

20 Aug 2016 07:59:52
Gosman your logic is nonsense look at waghorn hardly scored at all plsyin for wigan his ratio was appalling comes up here and blooters defenses scores a shitload garner will do the same.

Brogie82.

20 Aug 2016 08:49:38
Waghorn is your benchmark? pmsl

You seem to forget half his goals were penalties against piss poor teams so hardly "blootering" defenses.

He was once a Β£3 million player that we picked up for nothing so still good business.

With garner we are paying more for him than the total we have spent on the rest of our team.

20 Aug 2016 21:57:54
Been following this site for months and it's my first post. Can't believe the negativity with some people. Give people a chance and let them prove themselves when they pull on the blue jersey. Mr Warburton and McPartland haven't made many mistakes so far as far as signings go. I'm sure Garner will pose a threat to most SPL teams.

19 Aug 2016 16:02:41
Onto a more positive not, albeit a known one.

Joe Garner is in Auchenhowie just now and the deal should be completed this evening.

3 year deal.

19 Aug 2016 13:25:14
The truth about the Lescott deal will surface in the next day or two. Nothing to do with medical reasons, it is money related but is not the fault of the player or his representative.

19 Aug 2016 13:49:52
So who's fault is it then?

19 Aug 2016 14:21:34
Check the Twitter TL of the Villa owner/ chairman. Posted long after I did, the truth will out.

19 Aug 2016 14:22:17
DK is to blame sent MW with the gingy bottles from the warchest. πŸ˜†.

19 Aug 2016 14:30:00
Perhaps issue was down to wages.

Villa would part fund his wage for final year of contract but we were unwilling to pay the difference in second year of deal.

Just a guess.

But he didn't start his medical. Not a guess.

19 Aug 2016 14:31:17
No big deal rangers dodged a bullet imo.

19 Aug 2016 14:33:00
Sunderland improved as a prospect.

19 Aug 2016 14:34:47
Tony Xia (via Twitter) : Sky is right this time. No problem with medical check.

So what's your point? Of course the Villa owner is going to deny a failed medical. He wants rid of him and doesn't want pay him another years wages.

19 Aug 2016 14:37:15
he is a shocking cb anyways and not the player he was which some people on here seem to think he was and to those people they should really start watching football games that don't consist of the big teams down south.

19 Aug 2016 15:13:43
He's not signing so we move on to the next target, if its Senderos, then i'm sure he will do a job at the back for us anyway, let's just hope we get these deals we want finalised asap.

19 Aug 2016 15:27:22
I'd say it's down to the villa owner who will pay the difference of his wages for a season but the wages we can pay it would Prob only be about half were as Sunderland would Prob pay a lot more so he is only paying a small difference that's what I think if I had to guess. but tbh think senderos would be better only thing now we got to hope he wants to come as we have sort of give him the boot hopeing on lescott coming now haft to go back in and ask him if he would like to join 😳.

19 Aug 2016 15:27:26
he passed the medical but his knees came up as a problem. the same as matt mckays when he signed that's why we wanted to change the terms.

19 Aug 2016 15:30:08
James Stirling. Mate I watch every football game that's going and saw plenty of Lescott last term. He would've made a great addition to our squad and raised the profile of our club. Remi Garde, Lescott's manager came out last year and hailed him as a player he could rely on and applauded his effort to the cause. Somebody is talking out their unmentionable. Wonder who?

19 Aug 2016 15:58:55
Lescott was clearly happy to come yo Rangers after meeting with Warburton and I have to believe that Warburton would have like this guy at the centre of his defence but it is clear that despite all Kings bluster of funds he is just another one like Murray with his moonbeams/

We have yet to see the much promised striker arrive despite us having agreed a deal with Preston. Will we see that one falter at the last moment as well.

We will not win this league with Wilson and Kiernan as our centre backs, indeed we could be embarrassed in games. Now we are left with Senders, and I am happy to have him on board but centre back will still be a major weakness in our team.

It is also surely disappointing for Warburton to see a player that he wanted and had convinced to come to Rangers then seeing us fail to secure the player because of money. We were only talking about the second years wages since Villa were apparently happy to pay year one.

19 Aug 2016 16:58:04
The medical was taken and issues came from it. Best all round for Rangers, JL and Villa that "family reasons" prevented the transfer going thru! 100% Not worth risking his wages for 2 year deal, we don't have the cash to take gambles like in previous years.

19 Aug 2016 17:51:01
He would have been a good signing but we have to be sensible with the money. Shouldn't be breaking the bank to sign a 34 year old woth a questionable attitude especially when we have no European football money. Live within in our means.

19 Aug 2016 18:22:28
All he has to say is my family don't want to move out of England that's fair enough I think he will regret it as Sunderland will be in the bottom 5 and fighting relegation
He has no ties to us so for him it's an easy decision would have been a good player for us but we must move on.

19 Aug 2016 18:31:56
Let's all just take a minute, breath and relax before slating our board etc. Let's find out the facts before jumping the gun. According to Sky, Garner has already signed a 3 year deal so let's leave the conspiracy theories to that mob please.

19 Aug 2016 18:38:32
I think he could've been worth a punt on possibly a pay as you play deal? Where he isn't payed when he's sat on the sidelines. Not sure if he would of went for that but not sure it would have been worth the risk.

19 Aug 2016 22:21:10
Lescott agreed terms after talking with MW. He expected his payoff from Villa to add to his basic wage in Scotland but arrived today to find that those wages were built into to the deal rather than as an add-on. When he found out the full contract details, he backed out. If what he believed originally had been the case, he would be a Rangers player tonight. Someone at the club has misled him, so he's opted to turn down the deal.

Believe what you want, there are countless people on here who know more than me. If he's purely motivated by money, then he'll stay in England. I'll wager a penny to a pound that he doesn't fail a medical at the club who choose to sign him when he leaves Villa.

19 Aug 2016 22:46:53
Lets tie up Senders and quickly, then try and bring in another quality centre back before the end of August!

19 Aug 2016 11:53:50
Lescott turns down move due to family reasons apparently.

19 Aug 2016 12:10:27
Thats what's been reported. Family reasons must be a miss type it should say money reasons .

19 Aug 2016 12:16:05
Is this an attempt to cover up the fact he's going to go somewhere for more money! If his heads not in it were much better taking Senderos anyway. Garner better sign today for a little morale boost!

19 Aug 2016 12:18:45
I heard he failed his medical.

19 Aug 2016 12:23:23
Failed a medical.

Could be true, or could be our way of deflecting above post.

Either way, no deal.

19 Aug 2016 12:27:57
failed medical I would think.

19 Aug 2016 12:31:06
said it on here for days didn't want him he has lost his legs.

19 Aug 2016 12:38:43
Would rather have senderos anyway. Younger and better in my opinion.

19 Aug 2016 12:50:18
I know for a 100% fact that he never even started his medical.

Wether it's done to our negotiating or Sunderland offer or genuine family reasons I don't know.

Cue the he wasn't good enough anyway nonsense.

19 Aug 2016 12:54:45
100% failed medical. "family reasons" is a cover up.

19 Aug 2016 13:00:51
If he flew to Glasgow I would guess he failed a medical as any family discussion would have already been made before he wasted his time on a flight etc.

19 Aug 2016 13:03:15
STV are reporting the deal collapsed after his medical. Garner also sat his Medical today.

19 Aug 2016 13:14:17
Really how do u know mate? its just because an ITK poster on FF said that he failed his medical and was offered a pay as you play deal. not getting on your case just wondering?

19 Aug 2016 13:22:12
BBC reporting failed medical.

19 Aug 2016 13:23:39
Ill be waiting next week for the story "lescott fails Sunderland medical and takes early retirement"

19 Aug 2016 13:34:48
Whatever the reason if the lad doesn't want to play for the mighty Gers then I'm glad it's fallen through. Like MW says we only want players who want to do a job for the club.

19 Aug 2016 13:27:09
Worst news I've heard in ages, got so excited for nothing, had the highest hopes we would sign this player and what a signing it would be, but naw we are now going to probs sign senderos, not good enough extremely disappointed.

19 Aug 2016 13:35:52
His knee is knackered. Long gone are the days Rangers would've signed him anyway. Better we knew know that couple of weeks down the road.

19 Aug 2016 12:52:34
I'm gutted he's not a Rangers player pure gutted.

19 Aug 2016 13:51:31
Haha knew know. That's the sound the ambulance made when it carted Lescott off with his dodgy knee.

Knew know knew know knew know.

19 Aug 2016 14:12:00
He definitely did not sit a medical. Any reports he did are false. I know this for certain.

I'm not a poster who is in habbit of making up rumours (don't really understand why others do) .

I wish he had failed medical, instead it's another deal club has failed to compete due to last minute problem.

19 Aug 2016 14:35:54
Mr nice . How do you know this for sure?

19 Aug 2016 15:31:57
Family reasons is bull rubbish his family is in Manchester but he happy to go to Sunderland which glasgow is only 2hours up from there it's not other side of the world and it's only for two years after that he is going to be retired for the rest of his life so plenty of family time then he need to grow a pair. Family reasons pussy!

19 Aug 2016 16:04:28
The guy would not have flown into Glasgow if there were potential family reasons. I also doubt that it is a medical issue. More likely that Rangers under DK were not prepared to pay the guy what he was worth. It will be interesting to see if the Garner move also stalls!

We are now the team with the biscuit tin mentality and it is an embarrassment. If Warburton wanted the player he should have been given the money to sign him.

We have finally got ourselves a quality manager and I'd hate us to have to go back to the morons that were managing us before him just because King is not willing to put his money where his mouth is!

19 Aug 2016 16:35:57
Quite relieved at this fact to be honest. His muhshot would have decreased the revenue for the club in calendar sales lol.

21 Aug 2016 08:19:54
Heard Lescott had an agreement with Villa regarding his training, Villa wouldn't risk him in certain intensive schedules basically keeping the guy fit but must have had a certain amount cotton wool round him. Bears of there's any truth on this then we dodged a bullet and Sendaros at 31yrs is solid and will do wonders for our defense. Warbs will have the big man fit and he will own his position and our defense will get better and better, just my opinion but can see Warbs rotating the experience with Wallace and Kiernan depending on opposition.
