Ian Black charged with the SFA with betting on matches he has been involved with.

Thats not what it says he has been charged with breaching betting rules doesn't mean he took part In a match

If this is true then he should be sacked as a rangers player its the kind of negativity we do not need at this time. I already wanted him out and now if he is guilty of this I will pay his taxi fare away from our club.

He has bet against his own team. Wether he played or not is neither here or there. If he played he could influence the game. If not he would have insider knowledge of the tactics, injuries and state df mind of his team mates. Either way it's wrong

3 counts of betting against his then registered club to win and 10 counts of betting on matches involving his then registered club. agree it doesn't mean he was playing, but if he was betting against Rangers last year that might explain some of his p*** poor performances.

What if he just put a coupon on? This could constitute betting against or betting for. If that is the case, I think it is nothing serious. If he has put 5 grand on Rangers to get beat in a single bet, that is a different matter.

One of games mentioned is game v Albion Rovers THIS season in which he scored! can't help but think that if he is found guilty, he should be given his P45. Inexcusable.

If found guilty will free up a good bit of wages he will not be a great loss to Rangers.

2 Years of bad news, when does it end?

The guy deserves a fair hearing, if proven then he should have his contract terminated, more negativity around our club, when is it going to end?

If this is proven correct then he needs to suffer the same fate as Sandaza, I agree, Big Fran did a lot less wrong. Black doesn't have the class to pull on a Rangers shirt and I don't just mean his ability as a footballer, he was a disgrace last season week in and week out and I personally would like to see the back of him at Rangers.

Some on here worry me, it frees up wages? Is it not a worry that a player hasn't been trying for nearly 2 years now, black is been taking free kicks and corners like my 4 year old getting 7k a week doing it, A fair hearing? Did sandaza get a fair hearing?

As with everything you need to give him the benefit of the doubt until its actually proved. I would still play him on Friday and then see what happens. It's wrong for people to come on here and pronounce him guilty before the hearing has taken place. That's a basic right for everyone. IF found guilty then yes he should be sacked immediately

End of the day guys, show me a player that doesn't bet on football matches or any other bet?! That's what happens when you pay these normal, average guys over-inflated wages for their day job and they work for around 14 hours a week! Tell me what would you do with your grands and free time every day?! I personally know a few SPL players and I can guarantee you they frequent the bookies more than the average man! Not saying I condone the circumstances around this specific incident, but just pointing out that I can tell you it certainly isn't isolated! J

Sandaza was suspended while the matter was investigated. I would imagine Black may be the same. Either way, he won't get sacked and will still be at Rangers, like it or not

Celtic fan here, don't think he'll be the only one gambling on football but if he's gambling online then he is a mug as it must be the easiest way to find a paper trail so to speak. Brains and footballers don't seem to go hand in hand!

Quite simple really, it's against the rules of the association his employers adhere to. He must have left a paper/evidence trail for it to get this far. Does this rule bar players immediate family/relatives? Where does it stop? Easily get a mates cousins uncles brothers best mates aunty to place bets. Sounds like he is a numptie as mentioned earlier

He's been charged but let him respond THEN if guilty throw the book at him, UNTIL then give him the benefit of the doubt!. What I will say it is not right for any player to bet on his own team to win, lose or draw as they have inside knowledge of their own teams strengths and weakness for any individual game.

Could there be another Ian black? Just saying lol. Honestly though if he has done it then shame on him paid enough for playing football. Next question is if this has been going on for a few year why is it only now it is being reported on, same as the person specification that Craig whyte passed, again just saying

It sets a dangerous precedent if he is sacked. It has never been a secret that footballers bet on matches. What happens if we sack Black and it turns out half the team we also at it? We'd be left with no players and would be tied up in expensive legal cases for months as players appeal the sackings.

I agree that if he bet on his team to lose a match he was playing in he was wrong, but the exact circumstances of the bets has to be looked at. If its a couple of quid on an accumulator, I think a slap on the wrist would do. If it's a big-money single bet then it could be seen as match-fixing.

We may have no choice but to sack him but we must proceed with caution. {Ed001's Note - UEFA and SFA rules are quite explicit in forbidding players betting on matches they are involved in. Any players found guilty of doing so would not have a leg to stand on in a legal case. In fact they could face legal action as it could be seen as a case of match fixing, hence why it is banned.}

Does anyone know if mamady sidibe & hameur bouazza are still on trial at the club. also what is happening with "pandaza deal.

Apparently still there training. As when they arrived they were miles behind in terms of fitness and training. This I assume means that Ally maybe gave them a longer trial period to get fit and prove themselves.

Those two left the club a week after they arrived. The Pandza deal though no one knows.

It was announced by rangers over a week ago that both trials had ended and Rangers would not be pursing a contract offer for either player.

It was on the rangers website that they left us over a week ago

If you had been watching the news you would have seen and heard that rangers are not pursuing these 2 players also the deal for the bosnian looks dead in the water and the last I heard is that palermo were considering a move for him.
