Hopefully not. he's a decent footballer but as i have got older i have come to realise decent doesn't quite cut it when other attributes are lacking. Rangers need 11 players on the park every game who are willing to run themselves into the ground and win games when things aren't quite going right. Quality will be lacking at times this season again as its only normal to happen and that's when tbr attitude of the players and their battling qualities will come to the forefront. Cummings is a tidy footballer but he isn't a rangers centre forward - not from what i have seen so far. quality blended with experience a never say die attitude and a team ethic of unselfishness is what will see us progress.

Mcoist wasnt the best footballer and was quite poor at the start of his rangers career. Turned out to be a scoring machine. Cummings has hardly had a chance and played as a loan striker most of the time. He could be a gem. Some people far too quick to judge

We are severely lacking in strikers. I think getting Cummings in for a decent price is a no brainer.
If we start the season and Cummings is our 3rd choice striker, I think that would show a strength in depth we haven't had for a long time now. Obviously him being our 3rd choice I am hoping we are planning to push the boat out for someone else while holding onto Morelas aswell.

Sorry, working on a deal to sign a player that we have an AGREED permanent transfer for if we want it? We can easily afford his Forrest wages, so what is it we are trying to agree on? Cummings IS NOT on our radar at this moment, things may change but he is not currently a target.

Onlyshowaround - I would imagine if it is going on its to try and bring the price down. He has been told he isn't in Forrests plans, and they clearly have money to spend having already broke their transfer record last week. (Believe they spent £13m on someone) .
Getting him for anywhere around £500k would be great business I think.

McCoist was a natural predator in the box a true finisher and one of the greatest strikers ever but Cummings is a completely different type of player he is more of an old fashioned number 10 he will be a great signing for us and I believe he will be a star of the future

Onlyshowaround all I’m saying is several other sources say we are. The reason we are probs still trying to sort out a deal is because I would imagen we don’t want to pay the fee we previously agreed as we mayb expected a bit more from him. I don’t think he looked all that fit any time I saw him playing last season. Weather we go for him or not it’s really exciting times to be a bear and I’m BUZZING for the season ahead.

If we get him for a good price then yes. He was no where near fit (not injured just blowing out his arse) and had to play up on his own but he can score goals. Looks like the rest of our boys who thought they were fit also have been told otherwise.

Im comparing him in the fact that mcoist started off quite poor at the start of his career and it shows you how once a players settles in to the team how better they can become, if cummings is getting judged on last season then that is dissappointing as i feel he has a lot more to give in a better system with better players around him. for the price he would cost its worth a chance in my opinion

Cummings is not the answer. we play 1 up, ok SG might change that but certainly won't for EU games. he cannot play that roll and the only way we will go 2 up is after we can show that it works in the league and don't believe we will against a top 4 or 5 league team. i would hope even our 3rd striker choice would be better than Cummings.

For me if we can get him on the cheap then I’d get him in. He has potential and is still young. What we do know is that he knows where the goal is and with Gerrard in charge hopefully he can improve. We have gave away far to many players on the cheap recently as we needed them off the books to rebuild, the same should apply to Nott Forest here. He also seems like a good lad to have around the place and one that I’m sure Gerrard would get along with.

McCoist was nowhere near 1 of the best strikers ever. He wouldn’t even get near the top 100 strikers of all time. Great player for Rangers but never shined in the big tournaments
