Not posted in a long time but here goes, for weeks Gerrard has been playing guys totally out of form and its classed as favourites in my eyes, goldson is only ever a few games away from a terrible mistake but never gets dropped, kamera, Aribo and kent have been dire for weeks but took until we are out the title race to start dropping them.

Also the winter break is meant for a rest not double training sessions in Dubai, the only people that get a break was the management team, make no mistakes most of this dip in form is the managers fault.

Short memories and very fickle. And please spare me the Greg Docherty nonsense because he scored a screamer on Saturday, what difference would he make to us because he still certainly isn’t a better option than anything we have. The nacho novo brigade are out in full force again I see.

Cant really see that when the wee mans not really had a chance. At least he's got a bit of drive about him and get into the opposition box, apart from arfield none of our midfielders do that regularly, they all play too close to the back 4 at times. Think he was very unlucky not to get a chance.

17 Feb 2020 13:58:36
Herewego55 watched under21 against caley thistle they played exactly same way as senior team so must be management instructions that are problem. Playing a back four and two defensive midfielders plus play our best attacking midfielder on wing is ridiculous 😡😡😡😡😡.

17 Feb 2020 14:43:49
6 counties, i will say to you as I've said to others the system is not the problem, as its no problem at liverpool, its the squad that's not good enough, if the whole liverpool team came up to play for rangers do you think they would lose the league?

17 Feb 2020 16:37:37
Greg Docherty deserves his chance. Exactly the type of midfielder we need, industrial, hard working, box to box, and scores a goal or two. Still young and will only get better. People forget the likes of Davis isn’t going to be around forever so we need young players coming through for the bigger picture.
Greg Stewart also deserves his chance, never put a foot wrong when been called on but can’t get his chance.

17 Feb 2020 17:28:26
Docherty had 11 appearances for the Gers and failed to make a significant contribution or score any goals.

17 Feb 2020 18:01:39
Docherty season 17/ 18 - 13 games. 0 goals, 2 assists. Hardly set the heather alight. While i believe he is a good player (Gerrard admitted this also), he is not getting infront of Aribo, Jack, Davis or Arfield.

Baffles me that when the team have hit the skids people start clutching at straws and thinking Docherty or Murphy would have single-handedly pulled us out this slump. That's not how football works.

17 Feb 2020 19:06:35
When Murphy was on loan to us, he had plenty assists, started of well after signing then the injury happened.

17 Feb 2020 19:29:51
Nobody's saying it is, but fo you not agree that Jamie Murphy is a better player than Barker or ojo eho got plenty of chances? Or some games docherty would fit the system better than aribo,? Sribo is s good player but in the harder games he's a luxury we csnt afford if were struggling for form.

17 Feb 2020 21:15:06
Pack it in mate. Kamara hasn't been a regular starter for weeks. Goldson is used as a scapegoat and has been our most consistent player since coming back. Why does katic always seem to avoid criticism when he is always 40 yards up field chasing lost balls, being bullied by strikers meaning goldson has to recover for him?

17 Feb 2020 21:50:14
All the Docherty naysayers with the stats from 17-18 season are missing one major stat. The team was rank. Russell Martin, Cardoso, Herrera, Holt, Halliday, Goss, etc. we haven’t seen him amongst the current squad so how anyone can say he’s not good enough is beyond me.

17 Feb 2020 22:14:21
Never seen Katic being bullied by anyone yet lol? His passes hv been shockin recently. But once he gets bk in form hel be solid again.

18 Feb 2020 05:58:11
I support all our players and give them total backing, but have to be honest as Tjrfc is correct imo also, regarding his post regarding connor goldson and nikola katic. I like big katic, but he can be very erratic at times and his positional sense is also a fault of his.

I've said this until i'm blue in the face that goldson is undoubtedly rangers best centre half, who does get made a scapegoat by some, quite a lot and others get off scot free! I'm not saying big goldson doesn't make mistakes, but he covers katic a lot as well as also covering worrall when he was here.

18 Feb 2020 10:37:26
Its not a case of Gerrard having favourites and not wanting to drop them, the problem is there is not enough quality in the playing squad to replace them, for example when Morelos, Jack and Tavernier were out recently we didn't have anyone to step in and do the job as well as them. simple.

18 Feb 2020 13:55:37
All we need is our players especially our top players to up their levels again and we will be fine. We aren’t a bad team all of a sudden. We were always going to drop points, probably 3 more than I thought we would’ve dropped by now after the break when looking at the fixtures but still so much to play for. Even the games we lost recently we still had good/ great chances to score more goals and on Sunday the game should’ve been over at half time. If we weren’t creating chances then I would worry but we are so it will come again for us.

18 Feb 2020 21:38:16
Golson most certainly has not been our mist consistant. Bombscare of a defender. Seen his make some crazy mistakes that have cost is. Some he's got away with.

18 Feb 2020 23:08:02
Rick witter, i agree completely mate, i also think once celtic drop points they will go on a wee bad spell, if so we just need to be ready, aye ready.

19 Feb 2020 00:45:51
DR1 dykes bullied him in the last game and cosgrove bullied him last week. Did he not lose it leaving McGregor to pull off a world class save? He's erratic and has to learn what to chase and when to be reserved.

19 Feb 2020 16:56:10
Defo didn't get bullied in any of those games hsha.

17 Feb 2020 07:53:31
Supposing we win nothing this season which is by far the most likely scenario and heaps of transfer money is not made available from thin air to revamp the squad, next season why would gerrard remain to face more humiliation. surely from his point of view, getting out would be the sensible option before his reputation is in tatters. And where is the transfer money materialising from?

17 Feb 2020 09:13:51
Good point.

17 Feb 2020 09:42:20
if sg walks his reputation will be in tatters!

17 Feb 2020 09:54:11
Are we forgetting we played everyone off the park for first half of season Inc top European sides in porto etc. We have had a disaster over the last 4/ 5 weeks. If we click back into gear play well to end of season (probably still won't win the league granted) but from where we were when Gerrard came in then how can that be time for him to go. We've bridged what was a massive gap between us and them and other than a shocking couple of games we've been had a good season, we're still in the fight and there's still Scottish Cup to go for.
Yes, it's a missed opportunity in the league but only because we were put in the position of being so good in first half season.
Back the team and the manager.

17 Feb 2020 09:58:29
He helped build the humiliation you talk about.

17 Feb 2020 10:20:26
if he needs heaps of transfer money on top of what he’s spent is that what we need.

how much do you actually need to put a team on the park to beat bottom of table hearts or a poor killie / dons anyway

without contradicting myself i do admit hagi looks very good and he would be an excellent addition to our team but will prob cost 4/ 5m.

17 Feb 2020 10:49:35
Being honest, I eouldnt pay 5m for haji on the evidence of what I've saw so far.

17 Feb 2020 14:06:25
Trev, livi spent about 8 pound on transfer fees, yet beat celtic 2/ 0 we need to keep buying players until we've got a good enought pool of player to challenge celtic, as its going to be hard winning the league with the small amount of first team players we have at this moment in time.

17 Feb 2020 14:20:24
Spot on Trev about the hearts / killie an dons recent games .

Be surprised if our own supporters don't give us gip for that comment
tho.

17 Feb 2020 15:07:41
Herewego55 Really? he has scored and got an assist in 3 matches and has still yet to fully settle into the squad. Time will tell but tbh i'd already say he is a better acquisition for 5m than Kent is for 7m.

17 Feb 2020 17:13:40
Exactly, but Kent's not exactly setting the heather on fire. Cracking player, imo not worth 5m if thsts ok?

18 Feb 2020 10:24:19
Trev, celtic have spent massively, they've earned at least 200 million in ch lge money, plus 20 mill in transfer fees while we've spent a pittance in comparison, and you and others expect gerrard to win league in a short space of time, phew I've heard it all now. the 25 million in transfer fees recouped by celtic was buttons compared to there ch league money, i think people should think for a few wee seconds before posting.

18 Feb 2020 15:19:04
Herewego55 we can't really say either way. if we do then its hardly giving the boy a chance. as i said time will tell he looks a cracking player and really 5m when you think of it isn't really that much money compared with the fees that we hear down south (i know were basically a farmers league in comparison)

18 Feb 2020 23:15:15
Kylel1872,i think if we bring in another 3players of his quality in the summer, we would definetly have a team good enough to win the league, that's the way we will build until we have a strong pool, and lots of current team will be squad players.
