same person who told me about Zelalam last year, is warbs has been in touch with Arsenal with Akpom and Maitland-Niles being mentioned both not part of Arsenal this year but a move to Gers could help development.

17 Nov 2016 17:05:27
Sorry, but development players are not what we need unless we are happy finishing mid table.

17 Nov 2016 17:50:41
Development players from Arsenal and Spurs, who'll have a season or half a season at our club, go back to their club, then move to a team at the bottom end of the 2nd league in England.

Just because they play in the Arsenal or Spurs youth set up, and maybe come off the bench for about 10 minutes in the league cup doesn't mean they're the players who'll improve the starting 11.

Oduwa, King, Ball, Zelalem were the loan players last season. Can't think of even a couple of games in a row where they actually improved the team significantly.

Would be all for a decent loan deal but it would have to be an experienced player who can give us grit and strength where we need it most. Doubt we'll get that with a loan deal.

17 Nov 2016 19:40:07
Maitland niles and akpom are both destinated for big things and I for 1 would like then here.

18 Nov 2016 11:03:00
not sure i agree thorn when the lad oduwa was playing well at the beginning of the season we would score 3/ 5 a game he was direct into the box hence waghorns penalty goal count. ok premier league may be better? but i think a good zouple of loan deals won't do us any harm also it keeps us in touch with english and european clubs who are starting to take a vit more notice of where we are going and what we are trying to do? yes i have my doubts about the youth team but will wait and see we all have to be patient.

18 Nov 2016 11:35:25
Think the only English clubs that we'll deal with in January are Arsenal and maybe Spurs.

Recall Oduwa and Zelalem being quite a decent team together when they played but neither were consistent enough. Harsh given their age but every team needs a consistently good starting 11.

That only leaves a handful of players who are either on the bench once in a while, never on the bench but have a chance next season and players who never going to get any where bear the first team.

Depends on the player though. Remember being quite excited when we were linked with Adam Armstrong on loan from Newcastle.

Getting a player on loan from a Championship team would normally get a lot of questions asked, but at the time it seemed like a decent option. Even with the Ashley situation.

18 Nov 2016 17:18:17
"not for development players", are you forgetting Gers have no money for decent players. and will be freebies and loans for a few more years. As for Akpom and Niles both are good players, who need game time they won't get it at Arsenal when chasing £100m for title win, both would add pace and skill to Gers first 11. niles has vision and can be used to replace Niko whos out for season, Akpom can play anywhere up front striker, winger, number 10 roles has pace and flair and is a direct runner something Mckay can't do, and has been rubbish this year after step up.

I don't get how anyone could refuse prospects Gers don't have money to compete with English league 2 sides nevermind championship or Premiership and if it means trying to close the gap on celtic with developement players who cares, gers need wins and current squad isn't doing that maybe youth and directness is needed to get them going.

ScottyGDF - sure, but everybody apart from Rangers fans thought Zelalem was going on to big things even after he went back to Arsenal this pre-season, including their head scout apparently! Not sure what they're smoking but I never saw anything in him that thought he could make it even in the Scottish Championship!

As far as I am concerned I would welcome Redbull all day long into our club. A company who treat sport with respect and hopefully do the same to the Teddies!
Obviously we wouldn't put up with a name change but calling Ibrox the Redbull Ibrox Arena is fine way me👍😳
We need investment guys and getting a worldwide business involved is what we need!

16 Nov 2016 18:23:05
I was in Vienna last year and spoke to two guys from Salzburg who said they hated everything that red bull had done to their club, to the point that they distanced themselves from their own club. Beware such corporate vultures.

16 Nov 2016 21:41:49
Respect the sport? You having a laugh? Red Bull are destroying football in Austria and have totally ripped the soul out of Salzburg. NY Red Bulls and RB Leipzig are universally despised.

17 Nov 2016 01:35:24
Mate, we could not knock back 20 million to be called the reinvented fairies of ibrox. I would welcome the name change rather than being a mid-table side for the foreseeable. In fact I would do almost anything to avoid the lingering ten in a row. Red Bull Rangers is not the worst we have been called in the past!

If they are looking at us then its for our huge fanbase, so we need to be behind them. They need to invest heavily in our stadium so I assume they would call it the Red Bull Arena. Imagine they turn their attention to Celtic and they get all this money and are called Redbull Celtic?

Would you rather we kept our name and they dominated us for the future? Get real we can't knock back money for anything.

17 Nov 2016 04:53:13
Don't worry, there'll never be a red bull Celtic.

17 Nov 2016 11:20:27
SPOC why are they despised what have they done to these clubs and leagues to be despised?
Leipzig are far better off with them and are playing better football because of the investment red bull put in .
I understand why the rest of Germany doesn't like them. they have made Leipzig a better team.

why would we care if anyone else liked us or not we never have been liked and never will be and that's fine by me I like rangers and so do a lot of our fans .

there are some people that don't sound as if they like us because all they do I b*tch about one thing or another.

I don't think this will happen but I hope it does .

reguarding name change we have just not long changed it to the rangers so what would be wrong with red bull rangers, end of the day we will be richer than that lot and attract better players.

17 Nov 2016 11:32:05
stadium name change not a problem team name change no thank you the teams that red bull have invested in have nowhere near the history of our club we are glasgow rangers end of plaster red bull signs all over the stadium the strip by all means but the name stays.

18 Nov 2016 11:06:12
well said james stirling.

18 Nov 2016 11:15:48
colshy we are already no longer "Glasgow rangers"
we are "the rangers" as of a few years ago so no history behind that name other than one i'd rather forget.

as long as we are rangers I don't care if we are red bull rangers, the rangers or Glasgow rangers.

if a simple thing like that would stop u wanting their investment that we badly need then I have to say I disagree.

18 nov 2016 21:17:58
disagree with you james stirling. we are and always will be glasgow rangers my friend! we should always want to hold on to our history and where we've came from, as far as i'm concerned these things are very sacred! we should never sell our soul to tom, dick or harry. we'll get there regarding investment, its just going to take time!

19 Nov 2016 02:44:10
They may be despised but are top of the Germanzzz.

I had not heard of any of their players, how much have they spent? Maybe we should be looking at their scout.

I for one would rather have a world class scout than a Joey barton ( In hindsight)

19 Nov 2016 20:42:58
The club was never known as Glasgow Rangers in its entire history.

21 Nov 2016 10:57:50
doesn't matter we are rangers super rangers. all that matters is we stay rangers .
change the name of the stadium arsenal have got over it.

I also think we have a top scout and that's why we have all the good players we do and got them for free.
give him money and he will work wonders.

its not selling our soul we will have the history still and remember the glory days no one can take that away from us.
no name change could take that away from us.
I could however bring back the glory days which i'd be more than happy about.

all this and it ain't gonny happen anyways lmao.

On Sky Sports Regional Paper Talk section the and the Reading Post is linking us with Reading midfielder Liam Kelly. Anyone heard anything about this?

{Ed039's Note - Yes he is a player Warburton likes, he is out of contract at the end of the season and could move under the same circumstances that Rossiter and Dodoo moved)

16 Nov 2016 20:41:42
Taking into account that frank lampard is now almost at the very end of his career, with his next move obviously not going to be money motivated, do you think there's any chance at all that we could sign frank lampard?

16 Nov 2016 21:57:32
Nope. And for the reason you put at the beginning of your post. And cash too. Would anyone be willing to take 5% of previous earnings? That being said, you would think that MW will still be looking for the experience in midfield that he was looking for when he signed JB and NK.

Personally, I don't want Rangers to be the vehicle for players to finish illustrious careers. I'd rather it was the club where they started them.

17 Nov 2016 11:24:02
why do we need a midfielder?
only areas I think we are weak is defence and attack we need a centre back with pace and a poacher to bang the goals in.
if warbs goes for more middle of the park player to sit on the bench because he only plays three in there then sum1 needs to give him a slap.

17 Nov 2016 11:37:00
Would obviously love Lampard in the team but there's no chance he'll come up here. He'll become a Sky Sports pundit and join up with Carra, Neville, Henry no doubt.

19 Nov 2016 15:01:47
I see the comments about Red Bull Teams being universally hated, well from what I can see, in today's Scotland, we are universally hated anyway so if we get a sponsor that brings us back to the glory days why not. Personally I don't give a proverbial about the supporters of other Scottish Teams especially those that play in Green!
