Any news on haris vuckic or the boy holt , heard haliday is a done deal? We need more body's in has anybody any other news?

Believable5 Unbelievable1

16 Jul 2015 17:53:10
Not so sure about Vuckic. of course, kept us in the game against QoS, went missing against Hibs and Motherwell. Teams planned for his come in from the right wing and left foot to top corner ploy.
No news on Harry Winks- more like the quality of player we need! .Looks like deal is not goint to happen though.

for the the Vuckic story is tabloid driven.

16 Jul 2015 21:00:54
Cant see warburton going for vukic. decent player but lacks a yard of pace which I don't think suits the way the manager wants the team to play

Agree1 Disagree0

16 Jul 2015 23:17:53
Vuckic I doubt will materialise Weekly wages of 10k being the stumbling block! Our top we can offer a player the now is 7k unless he is exceptional Just signed Andy Halliday for 5-6k a week who is probably better value for money

Agree0 Disagree1

17 Jul 2015 08:08:34
Don't know what's happening with vukick but I read last night that spurs are not keen on loaning the boy Winks to us because of the league we are in they would rather he went to the championship down south

Agree0 Disagree0

17 Jul 2015 12:03:25
Ah well the boy Winks would've loved it at Ibrox for a year! I guess he doesn't really have a say in the matter

Herald are reporting that we have had a bid rejected for JamesTavernier . Wabara deal definitely dead from the looks of things

It doesn't say we've had a bid rejected, we've put in an offer

Bid rejected by Wigan

Agree1 Disagree0

16 Jul 2015 13:16:11
Hopefully they will keep rejecting them. It's a complete joke going for him and the other Wigan player.

3 goals in 24 games and not wanted at Wigan. What is MW thinking? Other guy not good enough, loaned out, not good enough there either. Seriously what is MW thinking?

There are some cracking players in championship, many bargins to he had but these guys are neither.

I have this memory of DK saying we would "over investment". Reality is massive cutbacks.

Agree0 Disagree0

16 Jul 2015 13:32:01
Luigi,One of the teams he was loaned out to are after him permanently. So that blows the not good enough theory out the water. The Wigan fans rate him and want to keep him. Have you ever even seen him play?

Agree0 Disagree0

16 Jul 2015 13:43:48
I have actually. Have you?

You seem to have assumed I haven't.

None of the Wigan fans I know (I sometimes work in Wigan so I know a few) rate him. They are laughing at us.

16 Jul 2015 13:34:39
Luigi

Let's judge things after a bit of time has passed. I'm fed up with you writing off players, the management and the board before a ball is kicked. Your negativity is mildly irritating.

I think that's why Aird played RB

16 Jul 2015 13:54:06
Lugi gee in eh your lack of ambition for our team depressin you haven't had a good thing to say in day and how can you ask wigan fans when he was loaned out and they can't laugh at any 1 we need structure and time to try takeour team forward is now

Agree0 Disagree0

16 Jul 2015 13:54:31
Luigi seems to be living in the dick advocat era wher he thinks rangers can compete and spend at a level scottish football is no longer at. MW knows down south.you don't possitive outlook is the players being looked at are relatively young and have room to improve and flourish.

Man united have just singed Italian international who only a few years back was being loaned to the lesser leagues in Italian football

Agree0 Disagree0

16 Jul 2015 13:54:37
Just to let you know, when I saw the article earlier about Tavernier, all it said was we had put an offer in for him, NOW the herald are saying it's been rejected

Agree0 Disagree0

16 Jul 2015 14:25:58
The negative attitude from luigi is ridiculously over the top. We over invested to get to the point we are now. The tried and so called tested didn't work. Give the team time see where we are come the close of the transfer window. The same guys that were screaming throw the kids in are now screaming, forget the kids throw money at the problems.

Agree0 Disagree0

16 Jul 2015 14:52:38
Yeah, I live in Wigan. And almost all have said if they lose these type of players they will not get out of that league. Players can play at a level below there standard, find form and improve and be better players in tougher leagues. It has happened all through football. These players fit the bill. Have faith and get behind the club

Agree0 Disagree0

16 Jul 2015 15:29:05
Perhaps MW reckons that this is the level Scottish football is at and has no need to invest so heavily this season. IF we are promoted then that's when the level of player has to improve. Who's to say that these players can't do a job in the SPL with the addition of more quality. Let's hold fire and see how our team, management and season fare to Xmas anyway before we start going bonkers. I for one feel we are in a MUCH better place than we were in the last few years. Oh and I would hate a fun day out with Luigi, might just tip me over the edge!

Agree0 Disagree0

16 Jul 2015 17:44:08
I think people are forgeting haris vuckic was farmed out on loan to the championship and branded not good anoth .then came to us and was loved

Agree0 Disagree0

16 Jul 2015 20:43:17
Good point BP. I'm still not that convinced by him. There is no denying he has a wonderful left foot and can surely score at this level but is he the type of player MW is going for. He seems to want the team to play with a bit of pace, something this boy lacks.

Rangers will be making their fifth summer signing in Andy Halliday Personal terms is the only thing to sort out. Player believed to be in our budget at around 7k a week!

Believable16 Unbelievable1

16 Jul 2015 09:52:40
Andy Halliday would be an excellent signing very versatile player and only 23 just the sort of player we need

Agree1 Disagree0

16 Jul 2015 10:01:10
Not a chance he will be on anything even close to 7k a week

16 Jul 2015 11:04:38
Will b a good signing hopefully get holt as well and a right back and striker and we will b in good shape for the season front line of temps Clark McKay looked good and if McKay given a chance he will b like a new signing

Agree0 Disagree0

16 Jul 2015 11:06:57
Well 7k is our threshold and if the money that he was on at Boro and Bradford then he will be getting that tops

Big Season for Clark he fluffed his lines too much last season. even done that last night against Ayr

I would add Templeton and Miller to that list of "must do better"
Stevie Wonder could see we need a couple of strikers- one at least, tried and tested.

ok signing but overall the transfer activity has been dreadful. Should Paul Murray not have asked more questions about this at the interviews? McCall was clear in interviews that he had a clear list of targets, MW plan sounds great in theory but he clearly did not have a transfer list. Given we have no scouting then problems were always round the corner.

Why do so many fans think a front line of Templeton and Clark is going to cut dit?

These guys are not good enough and have had every opportunity to prove me wrong. THREE different mannagers last season got nothing out either of them.

Iv been Branded as negative, but there is quite a lot to be negative about. Man for man hibs have a better side, st mirren are not far off and there is hardly a gulf in class between us and likes of falkirk and raith. The season ahead is going to be a major struggle. We are relying on others to fail, rather than building the best side in the league. Which on our playing budget should be assured.

We have had the chance to sort this out over summer and not done it. The players we have signed are a mixture of unproven or unwanted players- not good enough for promotion and not good enough for £400 season ticket. And certainly not any where good enough to challenge Celtic if, and its a massive if, we get promoted.

I don't want to be negative, but those hailing all this are as deluded as Celtic fans.

You're never going to know everything about what is going on in the corridors of power at the club, as it is with all businesses, not just Rangers. People are commenting on the lack of investment by Mr King and the board, but it could well be that Mark Warburton has assured him that he will firstly use all his wit and wiles to wheel and deal to bring in some very promising young players and these, along with one or two experienced guys like Eustace for instance and his and Davie Weir's assessment of the young players who were already at the club, might be enough to run with come the start of the season. Remember Davie Weir has been attending games involving the young players for the past few months and must have an idea by this time of which of them are going to cut it under the new regime. And remember the transfer window doesn't close until the end of August. Warburton could well be intending to spring a couple of surprises and bring in a so called 'marquee' signing towards the end of the window (eg Scott Allan). Can you blame him for keeping his cards close to his chest? Why pay over the odds by driving the price up when we have all the aces? Remember Hibs are standing to lose Allan for nothing at the end of the season. They might just be prepared to grab the money, especially as Allan is a Gers fan and has never hidden his desire to play for us. I'd tend to keep faith with the coaching team as they have already proved at Brentford how effective they can be using limited budgets and resources. Remember, we wanted shot of the old regime from top to bottom. That has been done and we must get behind the club, including Mr King, and give them a chance to deliver the success the fans crave. I know it's been a nightmare over the past 3 years, but I for one am really looking forward to the coming season. I have a feeling we're going to do just fine and gain that automatic place to the top flight. Then it's building for the next step - a serious challenge to that mob from the East.

Andy will b a great signing. good player and rangers daft which always helps

Agree0 Disagree0

16 Jul 2015 18:58:35
Having a list of targets is a very different thing to signing players and 5 signings in a month or so isn't too bad. We do.need another striker but we were better than hibs last season and we have only lost our worst players. We have to walk before we can run,i think most real fans accept it will take 2-3years min to challenge Celtic

Agree0 Disagree0

16 Jul 2015 22:51:31
Noddy, that was a well written and lucid argument. I see nothing wrong at the min, yes some bigger names perhaps but sure we went down that route and got badly bitten before, so let's all just keep calm and wait and see!

Agree0 Disagree0

17 Jul 2015 05:31:16
Marquee signings don't guarantee anything guys so stop obsessing about it. our most expensive signing was a marquee one and we know how he turned out. even guys like capucho and kanchelskis were rotten. then you have the smelly mob with juninho, keane, bellamy who didn't make a difference to them so try and give the manager a chance and see how it goes. Ha ha who's his agent, Simon Cowell! Load of Crap

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - how is it crap? I don't get the idiotic replies regarding this. His agent is trying to get him a club, Rangers have been approached, so what has been said is true. Did the post say he is set to sign? No. So what on earth is with the pathetic replies?}

16 Jul 2015 12:18:47
ed are these comments not aimed at the player being crap as apposed to the legitimacy of the post?

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - they seem directed at the post with that Simon Cowell comment.}

16 Jul 2015 12:24:46
Agents can actively approach Barca and Real Madrid so I don't get the disagrees lol. Rangers won't touch him but he's probably been offered to us like thousand of others have been via agents lol

Agree1 Disagree0

16 Jul 2015 13:26:52
I wouldn't rubbish this, he's no worse than some of the other players we are actually considering.

Im not saying we should sign him but he's better than anything on our books, as painful as that is to admit.

Miller- truly great player but faded and should retire. Can see the frustration written all over his face.

Clark- he's a trier but not remotely close to being good enough. Had his chances already.

Walsh- young boy, worth a shot but can not be relied upon

Templeton- had his chances, wasted talent. Will look back on his career and wonder what if.

Other than youth options I'm not sure we have anyone else.

16 Jul 2015 13:39:21
good luck getting him lol as a hibby this would be a mistake

Rangers are offered dozens of players every day by agents. I know, I once worked at Ibrox. All I was doing was passing on just one example that I came across. It's genuine
