can anyone one please tell me if we are buying shares in the club or a holding company, cause i had shares in rangers before only to be told you now a creditor of the old company-so this time will it be the club or can it happen all over again

Very good question:)

You would be buying shares in The Rangers Football Club Limited, which is a company but not a holding company. This is the company the football team operates under.

M8 your buying shares in a holding co belonging to cg,you will lose your money if you buy these shares,if it was defo shares in the club i would say go for it and take a chance but its not its cgs company and he will sell,he made it plain hes here to make money...gary

Will be the company that runs the football club and yes could happen again

I dont think you can have shares in a club as it isnt a company... Just like you couldnt of had shareholders before our incorporation back in the early days

You will be buying shares in cg s holding company where as celtics shares are in the club its self hope that clears things up

It is not possible to hold shares in a fotball club. Not fotball club can be listed on the stock market. It is simply the business structure you hold shares in (the same business structure that is being liquidated, the so called "old Rangers").

So if it all goes to **** again, then like any other shre you hold in any other business it will be worthless and ou'll simply be a creditor to the point the shares are declared worthless by a higer authority.

There is nothign sinister about how CG has set this up, it is just the way it works with this kind of thing. BUt fans should be aware that you are not buying shares in the club (the club defined as that which has SFA membership; the entity that holds and is accredited with all the honours, etc.).

Celtics shares are in the club? Ur an idiot! U can only buy shares in a company! It isn't advanced economics! Well maybe this is for you!!

As a accountant for a top travel company I know a little and from my friends at work that deals with our firms shares more than one has told me too run a mile from them ,so if it's a share print for your bedroom wall go ahead but if it's for future safe keep forget it

Can anyone tell me what is happening to the bookmaker outlets throughout the stadium, as i for one like a bet on a saturday and i am now getting very annoyed that they are still not open.

are you seriously trying to tell me that no bookmaker wants to open up within the stadium.

A holding company holds the assets seperate from the trading company, and it owns the shares of the trading company, this protects the assets in the event the trading company is liquidated.

I am not sure if this is the case at Rangers, selling 20 million pounds worth of shares in only the trading company would be difficult, the trading co has no fixed assets.

I imagine if you buy shares in the club, you are buying shares in the holding company, this means you are buying a share of both the assets and the trading company. Your share of the fixed assets would be protected if the trading company went belly up, but since the asssets are only worth about 5 million one would still lose most of your share value.

Bottom line is you are buying shares.

If the football clubs goes through the same thing in future you lose money.

Makes no difference if it is football or insurance.

If anyone buys shares in Rangers, they will never see a return or a dividend on there investment.

If you can spare the mimium £500 or whatever you buy you must look as it as a donation to the club/board/green.

The certificate looks good up on a frame on your wall but that's about.

If your wanting a return on your money, don't put it in a football club leave it in bank.

Brilliant :) Best reply i've read on here in ages....i bet it's still not cleared up for him poor lost soul checking the shares he clearly doesn't have...or he may do, can you be a share holder of a Subbuteo Club?

Timmy here is something you lot should be moaning at. If you bought £5000 worth of shares back in the day at todays rate they are worth £1000. Shocking no Rangers fans are demanding Mr Dermot Desmond be voted out of his directorship.

I too had shares in the old company and lost them and will buy again but not to make money no dividand was paid on my old shares and dont expect any this time i just want to own a part of my club nothing more nothing less for god sake stop the negative posts if you dont want share dont buy simples

You are not buying shares in anything, The rangers will be in admin before the season is finished so don't say you haven't been told.

Look its simple green buys the assets using a loan from investors he uses season ticket money to run the club he does a share issue raises 20 million puts 10 million into club pays of investors with the rest he now owns 80% of the club without putting one penny in of his own money all paid for by the fans

Did you ever see the film The Sting?

Who were the actors who played Whyte and Green?
