davie weir has been sacked at sheffield united

Believable44 Unbelievable9

Lets be honest its been on the cards for a while! Just hope big davie gets another shot at management level!

Agree2 Disagree0

Not all successful footballers make good managers. Maybe Davie can get a job with Sportsound and give that programme more balance. He talks well but maybe like Roy Keane, Peter Reid and Brian Robson to name but three management is not for him. In spite initial setbacks these guys kept at it and kept failing. I hope the big fella doesn't go down that road.

Agree0 Disagree3

Keane won promotion with Sunderland

Agree2 Disagree1

Guys iv been shocked that davie hasn't made it by the first stage in management. He put a lot work into Sheffield and I hope that it is just down to the players not buying into his ideas. but ultimately I expected big things especially in league 1 big disappointment

Agree1 Disagree1

He's free to take up the rangers job then. Come on its only third level and he won't cost 825k.
The reason the club's skint is because Stockbridge and mathers have given greetin Ally too much to win lower divs. There would be millions extra in bank if a decent manager was doing it with exciting new prospects on the right wages.
Every single Bear knows that.

Agree1 Disagree4

What aload of tosh if Davie cannot a least get Sheffield half way up the table then he will not get rangers to the premier.

Agree0 Disagree1

Roy keane was an embarassment as a manager. brought in players he played with (ie they were all well past PL level) hence why he flopped. Flop as a manager and a thug as a player. No wonder he is disliked by everyone outwith half of manchester.

Gaz.

Agree0 Disagree0

Yes but every single team in Europe would have signed. him in a heartbeat. {The Ed039's Note - And probably why no club will touch him with a bargepole for their managers job)

how couldn't any manager win the third tier of scottish football with scottish premiership players? playing against a bricky who has maybe been to work before a game must be really hard for someone earning 10k a week and a full time footballer.

also roy keane failed cause at the clubs he has been manager he has had to transform the whole squad then not enough time to get them settled. sunderland have a habit of that.

dont be fickle. u you to be the people lol {The Ed039's Note - Listen, I aint Roy Keane bashing but he hasnt shown up to be a good manager, it is thought that the Sunderland players actually had a celebration when he was sacked)

A newspaper suggesting Ian Hart was perhaps the director rumored to be behind oust McCoist plot.

Believable32 Unbelievable6

12 Oct 2013 09:13:24
Harte was behind Allys wages query, quite rightly too

Agree2 Disagree0

Sensible guy then. McCoist was grossly over paid and still is. He has been given every help he needs to win promotion back to the top despite his clear lack of ability as a coach and his inability to get the best coaching staff available alongside him.

Agree2 Disagree0

At last someone who agrees about the two muppets beside mccoist. ally will always be a legend but legends sometimes don't make great managers. however durrant and McDowell offer absolutely nothin to rangers. I would like to see Alberta and numen come in to the back room staff. still don't know about ally though!

Daily Record this morning seems to confirm that King is on his way back and will plough 'substantial sums of money' into Rangers but will want to wield significant power in return. Now I wonder if the SFA will want to put the boot into Rangers yet again and try and block his return? Wouldn't put it past them.

Believable38 Unbelievable28

Rules are rules, he was part of the mob that led use to insolvency in there rules that means 5 years before aloud back in, did the SPL not wave the 3 years audited accounts to allow use in to the league. Was that sticking the boot in, paranoid much

Agree1 Disagree2

I think the dave king revelation is only a move by the current board to get the fans onside before the agm, I think if mather and co had revealed they were going to south africa to ask dave king on board before they went it would have had more credibility

Agree0 Disagree0

Well if the Daily Record says it's true then it must be. Ploughing substantial sums of money into the club. now where have I heard that one before. ah that's right, about anyone and everyone who has ever been connected.

Agree0 Disagree0

SFA jam packed with pro ex rangers guys and their flunkies. Ridiculous post OP.
Not investigating green- Whyte obvious link but accepting club internal report is incompetent by a governing body.
The LNS report approach also sham, mis management and incompetent or deliberate.

Agree0 Disagree1

DK was fervently against Green and Whyte at Rangers - and for that matter so are we all.

I think if the SFA block him he will go to court - an absolute cert, and the SFA would not want that.

As for the initial reply - The SFA have done everything they can to Rangers, and more - they made up the rules as they went along.

Agree0 Disagree2

Ve King part of the mob who led us to insolvency? was he not one of the board members who shouted the loudest against whyte taking control there was no board meetings to dicuss buisness why do you think they all walked away thr green and whyte mob were robbing us blind and they knew it so for me let's get the rest of the spives out get a board in who cares about our club lead by Dave King remember he put £20 mill of his own money in and never saw a penny back but is still willing to back us unlike the mob we have had over past year who were in it for the bonuses ;;;;; Cooperboy

Agree0 Disagree0

I doubt he will get control of the club, although I would much prefer him to all the people involved past and present tbh.
Can only hope I suppose, but feel it is some sort of gambit to win the AGM by the current incubents, who when they win will dump on him rapidly.

Agree1 Disagree0

The SFA found Craig Whyte a fit and proper person ffs.
Otherwise, shirly, he wid never have got his mits on us? {The Ed039's Note - There was no fit and proper persons test at that point as such)

Agree0 Disagree0

11 Oct 2013 19:55:15
its only guidelines for assessing if a person is "fit and proper"- NOT a set of rules that has to be followed. i'm sure the SFA will be fair in any decision taken. but then again.

Agree0 Disagree0

Has Mr King not got countless amounts of tax fraud cases against him? This reputation will stick to Rangers and Rangers already have cases of tax fraud/evasion as part of the reputation.? You couldn't write it! {The Ed039's Note - no he doesn't, he had 1 and settled)

Agree0 Disagree0

11 Oct 2013 23:55:46
dave king settled his tax case in SA for 44mil. I think the biggest hurdle in his way is the stock exchange as he will be part of a plc. Don't think they will be too keen as he was a non exc director under murray and then the tax fraud charges he's settled.

Agree0 Disagree0

Blue duster are you choosing to ignore how the rules were bended by the SPL to allow a rangers team in to the 3rd, no audited accounts is a rule, there were numerous teams applying b4 use and ahead in the que.
think king got ousted b4 the club went in2 insolvency but he was there prior and part of the team that led use to that position, insolvency didn't just happen over night.

really wish some people who cling to the hope that we don't succeed would try and understand the issues before spouting pish, "does he not have tax charges blah blah blah "
get yourself a life saddboy
