My mistake - he was misquoted - the quotes I saw from official channels said 'his contract is being terminated mutually' but having listened to him directly it's 'his contract has been terminated mutually, that's happened today I believe'.

Strength in depth is required Kenny. Anyways, it's standard for any good side to have 3 good CB's to rotate between.
Mcrorie has been training with the midfielders, he and Coulibaly will be the main CDM's, they might not always play together, but doesn't it feel more secure having two quality players in the one role in case of injury etc?
I have a feeling Gerrard will play 3 CB's vs Celtic and 5 across the middle.

if gerrard is thinking about playing 2 CBās the easy option would be macauley on a free as an experienced cover but if were looking at paying Ā£8m plus on cbās we must be favouring 3 at the back IMO

Why colshy? Goldson and cooper is 6 million and will be the partnership. Katic is only 21 will be used when needed and will be given time to develop for when either goldson or cooper move on after proving they are better than spl level!

lots options in midfield and defence espesh with players now able to cover more than 1 position ie mcrorie cntr half cntr mid flanagan both full backs
am surprised no-one has raised concerns re our strikers
assuming herrera is out the picture we only have 2 natural strikers both of whom are u23, unproven and not prolific
if we really want to challenge we need a poacher ie defoe

Katic is an internationalist. Cooper was league one, he might be good but Katic will not be on the bench

But I would ask what makes you so sure he will be fit for the start of the season? Heās an absolute talent but he seems unreliable due to injury issues. Hope Iām wrong!
