Rangers could borrow up to nine Newcastle players in a deal that will see Magpies owner Mike Ashley buy a share in the Ibrox club.
BBC,sports news.
AJM.

Believable54 Unbelievable120

Assuming they can talk 9 Newcastle players into playing D3 football. Can't see the footballing advantage to Newcastle or the players in such a move.

Agree3 Disagree3

Aye and you can imagine what Alan Pardew will say about that! You heard what he said about Fraser Forster being on loan at Celtic and he's been winning the SPL and Scottish Cup, competing in Europe.
Do you really think he wants his players rotting in the third division.

Agree2 Disagree1

So we will have about 32 players plus the other ones we bring in before 1st September.

For Div 3 ?

How much wages would Premier League Newcastle players expect?

Agree0 Disagree0

You are only allowed 5 loans at the one time. Look on the newcastle site.ed007 has posted the rule covering it.

Agree0 Disagree0

This is poor journalism calculated to get rangers fans excited and noise up the opposition. Really nonsense.
We're talking 4th tier bottom of Scottish football playing part timers. Ffs two of the Peterhead players were let out of the prison for a few hours and played in their shackles!

Agree1 Disagree0

UEFA financial fair play rules limits this sort of thing so that teams cannot field guys they cannot afford to purchase. There's no trying to be clever allowed by the really smart people anymore.

Agree0 Disagree0

5 loans allowed in one season and only 2 allowed to be over 21.
Some where along the line, someone is going to talk sense about my team.
Ashley owns 20% of JJB.He's lost money on that deal.JJB are creditors of old club.WE agree a new deal with him,we're back in the same boat. Our merchandising owned by an outside company.Every penny people like him want back is a penny we don't have!

Agree0 Disagree0

Your new away strip is going to be black and white

Agree0 Disagree1

More pish by the msm. Only allowed 5 loan players

Agree0 Disagree0

Think you will find the financial fair play only counts if you play in a uefa competition rangers don't

Agree0 Disagree0

Why would ANY newcastle player want to go to 3rd division Scottish football. If you believe this, you're a mug

Agree1 Disagree1

Says it all really about the BBC and media in general up here. they know F*** all!!! The eds on all these sites do a great job at keeping us upto date and and keeping all the stupid stuff off the pages.

Agree1 Disagree1

At a guess the newcastle players would be either young or dont fit in anymore. as for not coming to the third its up to them but if ah wasn't playing at all, some football would be better than none

Agree1 Disagree0

Why let the rules on loan signings and the unlikely hood of Pardew to let his youth players play in the bottom tier of Scottish football get in the way of a good fantasy.

Agree0 Disagree1

I`v read this story to and fear getting into any deal with this guy.he won`t fund his own club never mind our`s.this guy is worth over 3 billion and won`t part with any of that to keep newcastle going forward after a great season last year and part of any deal is mike ashley`s company (direct sport) take over from jjb on merchandising the rangers strip.the club are in talks with jjb to end there deal. from what i hear the newcastle support hate him.

Agree0 Disagree0

A football club that was once RFC now reduced to being a feeder club for Newcastle, lol

Agree0 Disagree1

They might lend you an away strip too ??

Agree0 Disagree1

"Think you will find the financial fair play only counts if you play in a uefa competition rangers don't"

Think you'll find all competitions in UEFA member countries have to abide by UEFA laws. This includes SFL Div3.
This is to stop corrupt people making up rules as they please.
Get real. This story only printed to fill column. Who invests £10 milllion in any company for 9% when overall cost was £5.5 million. Don't forget liquidators and HMRC are still able to claw back everything. This is why Green is desperate to get his money now. {Ed001's Note - the FFP ruling is not applicable to all leagues, that is why the English Football League had to sign up to it. You have not got a clue, so please don't try and claim knowledge of the situation.}

Agree1 Disagree0

Mike Ashely could care less about being able to feed Newcastle players to Rangers, this is pure and simple about getting Rangers tops into his Sports Direct shops and out of JJB shops. Everything else is spin.

Agree2 Disagree0

You will get discount on shirts with mike ashley at the helm

Agree0 Disagree1

Yesterdays result was absolute disgrace they are part time players the rangers players should be ashamed at themselvs joke

Agree2 Disagree0

The merchandising would not be owned by an outside company, it would be a joint venture allowing both rangers and sports direct to sell the merchandise, obviously sports direct would be paying annual royalties as part of this deal. Really cant see any downside to it

Agree1 Disagree0

Prob talking about when we are back in the SPL, I can see that being positive in a footballing sense for both clubs if Rangers are fighting for titles etc, but not for D3

What's happening behind the scenes?!
Why were we wearing our training top today!!
Folk have paid decent money for the playing jerseys and we turn out in a training top!Mickey mouse set up.
What happened to the number 12 jersey being retired also?
Is it because we're a new club that none of this has happened?

Believable39 Unbelievable40

Ref decided that our two strips we took clashed with peterheads

Agree0 Disagree0

Because the 2 kits we took we couldn't use cause both clashed

Agree0 Disagree0

Were not a new club .... new company same old club

Agree5 Disagree0

Players had to wear training strip as both
other strips were deemed to be to similar to
the home team kits and officials asked for the change before kick off.The squad numbering system rules are different for the third division, hence the No 12 having to be used,it was also used at the home game on Tuesday.
AJM.

Agree1 Disagree0

It's because our other two strips clashed with the Peterhead ones....

The number twelve shirt was an SPHell top, therefore it was retired.... The SFL state that no names and numbers 1- whatever the amount of players are are used, ie the first 11 will wear 1-11

Stop worrying and do your homework fella...

We are the people.... Now, always and forever

Agree1 Disagree0

The penny beginning to drop at last?

Agree0 Disagree0

Aye - you've identified the BIG issue - not the result, not the poor football, not the lack of commitment from overrated and overpaid shysters but...... The jerseys! Sort them out and the rest will surely follow? Maybe Ally needs a new jacket while he's down at the shops. Could make all the difference.

Agree0 Disagree0

"Were not a new club .... new company same old club"

We're a totally new club,mate.
Get over it.Get behind the new club.

Agree0 Disagree6

Are you for real ? Sky told you before the game started .. Get a grip and the reason 12 is used were in the sfl now yes that number was supposed to be retired but the sfl insist that it's 1-11 plus subs .

Agree0 Disagree0

Yes you are a NEW club!! What don't yous get, read the facts and not the rungers media friendly or your do called legend that is the best manager around. How many wins have you got? Drop all the old habits of your DEAD club and maybe your new one could move on

Agree0 Disagree3

Ally is a big problem, he only survived because we are where we are...he lost us the league ,he shot his mouth off ...if he hadn't we would still be in spl..wake up folks and smell the S@@t..No one else wants him , great player , Rangers to the core...crap manager . Sorry but it is true..WATP

Agree0 Disagree1

Outrageous comment above!

One of the main reasons we have any sort of a team at the moment is because of Ally McCoist!

Agree1 Disagree0

Same club?

Feels so different.

Doesnt feel like Las Vegas anymore, feels like Salcoates.

Agree0 Disagree0

Were not a new club .... new company same old club

can celtic fans not get this in to their heads, why do they insist on being so focused on rangers watp

Agree2 Disagree0

This is becoming tiresome!

The club became the company in 1899, check the Ibrox gates.

Walter Smith and Charles Green have told you all it's a new club.

You lot really think that Rangers were bullet proof, untouchable eh?

Charles Green bought the ASSETS of the club ie the stadium were they played, the training ground where they trained.
5.47 As discussed in Section 6 below the CVA Proposal was rejected by creditors at the meeting held on 14 June 2012 and a sale of the business and assets of the Club completed shortly afterwards to Sevco.

It is of course in Green's interests to keep you believing it's the same club, brand power etc as he has referred to in recent days but it's pretty simple. Rangers ceased to exist officially when the CVA W, which would have preserved the club had it been accepted was REJECTED!!

Agree0 Disagree2

You're a total numpty! Rangers Football Club was founded in 1873. The business entity was created in 1899 (rangers football club limited) the business was liquidated, but the club (still called Rangers) now plays in Division 3. A new business entity owns the clubs assets - Ibrox and Murray Park. I think it's called The Rangers Football Club limited. ...

The business that owns Celtic football club is called Celtic Group PLC. I don't know much about their business or when they were formed but I know their club was formed in 1888.

Rangers have been given a transfer embargo and fined £160,000 for bringing the game into disrepute under its previous regime. A brand new club would have no history. We are not a new club.

Agree2 Disagree0

Was it not the case the Charles Green agreed to all the sanctions in order for Rangers1872 membership be transferred to his new club?!

Under your assertion it would be INPOSSIBLE for Rangers to go bust.

They did. We all know they did!

You're buying into the brand pal!

Rangers were consigned to liquidation you can't bring Celtic or any of their associated companies into it as they were NEVER in administration never mind going bust ie liquidated.

Agree0 Disagree0

Well done lads you ground out a difficult draw. Enjoy Div 3, you could be there a couple of years yet...

Iain

Agree0 Disagree0

The Bhitter ones seem to be intent on trying to bend our minds to their warped way of thinking. The HOLDING COMPANY liquidated...not the club! I blame the education, how else can you explain their blinkeredness to accept fact.

Agree0 Disagree0

You can see why it is beneficial for a new company to convince the old fan base that are the same club. If the fans were being objective they'd see this is a new legal entity and club died ( and deserved to die ) when it went bust owing £100 Million+ to it's creditors.

To think that a club can do bust owing money and caqrry on as if nothing happened is either stupidity or arrogance of the highest level.

If you want Rangers F.C. to continue, pay the debts.

Simple as.

Agree0 Disagree0

If it is the HOLDING COMPANY that will soon be liquidated, please answer one question, any of you educated bears.... Why do FIFA / UEFA (the world / European governing bodies) not recognise the Rangers as the old
Club? Why in their eyes are you a new club?

Agree0 Disagree0

Where did you hear that? We rangers are banned from Europe for 3 years as a result of the newco (this means new company not new club). When a new club joins a league it doesn't get given sanctions. What did Peterhead and Annan have to suffer as part of their sanctions?...

I blame the schooling too! Impossible (iMpossible!)

Manchester united are £600m in debt. Lots of clubs are. What has happened to Rangers is business vandalism. The SPL should have regulated the finances of the member clubs' businesses.

Could have happened to anyone. Might happen to your crappy wee team next. WATP.

Agree0 Disagree0

Look at the SFL web page. third div team "rangers" founded 1872. Won more cups than any other team in scotland.

We all know how " wonderful" Broadfoot is, but I think Goian and Bocanegra have one eye on their bank balances and are already on the way out, so why is Ally sticking with them, and WHY is big Jig not captain ?
Another 35 games to go, so no doubt we'll get better.
We are still playing players out of position, something Ally inherited from Smith.

Believable41 Unbelievable12

Yeah pure murder the day hopefully the reality check many in the team need goian and boca look uninterested and broadfoot caused both goals with sloppy defending then has the hard neck to shrug his shoulders and laugh. We will be okay at home but we need to learn to dig deep and take care of teams away or it could become a hard grind

Agree0 Disagree0

Its tough in the 4th Tier.

Agree0 Disagree0

The Gers were not upto par today that was for sure. Goian and Boca looked like they didnt care what the score was and id say thats prob the worst ive seen them both play ever. They are defo both on there way out and should not have been played. Big stupid Broadfoot got onto a few decent balls today only to hoof them into the flurry of players with the precision of a blind cobbler. Another thing noted was the amount of kicking the players off the park. These Div 3 partime teams make Blacks tackles look like a ballerina. The Rangers needs to learn although these teams are 3rd Div, these guys play hard and will try to out play the gers every game we need to step up our play rate by a mile its just not good enough comming away with 2-2 against these teams or it will be far more than 3 years back to SPL.

Agree1 Disagree0

Firstly Peterhead did not kick us off the ball, they were just hungrier, better managed and even when we equalised they were pushing hrd for an equaliser.

The reality check is that these teams will be playing out of thier skin against us and it will not get any easier when the pitches start to tear up.

The reality itself is that some boys we are better shot of. There are very few who have enjoyed the spl good times who will be any use in this atmosphere - Jig being the obvious exception.

Agree1 Disagree0

Peterhead away is a game that no team in Scotland would want to go to in a cup or in the league. Not an easy trip, especially for a team of players that haven't had time to gel we need to know now which players are staying and get the rest to France! Can't be a good team spirit if two or three aren't interested. I'm not expecting us to go out and pump these teams, every team will be hard to break down and will be treating games against us like a cup final. Its gonna be a hard slog. If the streets be broad or narrow!

Agree2 Disagree0

Feels like a cul-de-sac.

Agree0 Disagree0

Ally hasn't found his level in management yet.

Agree0 Disagree0

If the players cannot be motivated to play in Div 3 then the fans have every right and reason to walk away.

Agree0 Disagree0

The club AND the fans are in trouble..... "Firstly Peterhead did not kick us off the ball, they were just hungrier, better managed and even when we equalised they were pushing hrd for an equaliser".
so after an equalizer, they still pushed hard for an "equaliser"?
that sounds like it is straight from Ally's mouth...... Ally is a liability, 15point lead wiped, 2 european cup exits, 2 cup exits and now struggling and lucky to come away with a draw in the 4th tier..........

Aye, things are looking up!!

Agree0 Disagree0

Ally must stay...!

Iain

Ally, if you did not know it before, you must see it now. Goian, Broadfoot, Bocanegra THEY - ARE - NOT - INTERESTED... Sell them, give them away I don't care! Get into the 1st div and get a hold of a few hungry 23/24 year olds. Some of our high paid boys do not want to know

BB

Believable70 Unbelievable8

How much they on?

Agree0 Disagree0

Totally agree all three were really poor today.let the younger ones get a chance.

Agree0 Disagree0

I'm beginning to get alarmed with Mc Coist as the off field complexity of last season may just be glossing over the fact that his managerial skills leave a lot to be desired full stop .

Agree0 Disagree0

Why on earth is Perry not playing. did i miss something, has he left as well?get that back 3 to f**k out they are uninterested and far to bigsie.

Agree0 Disagree0

Reality check time - Peterhead 2 Rangers 1 !!

The Rangers bosses should be doing deals with all the bookies- maybe we'll get some cash in that way !

Seriously though folks, we need to shake off this " how many will we score " attitude and look at the REAL world.

Believable33 Unbelievable15

Finished 2 - 2 mate

Agree1 Disagree0

2-2 with 90 min equaliser, Sally safe... Lol

Agree0 Disagree0

Mcoist couldn't pick his nose never a manager he's terrible go back to question of sport

Agree0 Disagree0

I don't know any fellow Rangers supporters that have that attitude.

Agree1 Disagree0

Seriously though how bad was that?! as previously stated Broadfoot cant pass water...........Goian and Bocanegra looked like they were having a kick about and out formation is clearly not working.

We looked better when kyle and sandaza came on - if we are going to play 3 - 5 - 2 then mcculloch needs to anchor midfield - Black and shiels were poor today also but there was no width at all? - all in all that was a shambles...........

Agree0 Disagree0

Wee argument going on here .... is the guy who scored Peterhead's 2nd a joiner or a plumber ...?

Agree0 Disagree0

Not too worried kyle just back from injury hardley any pre season shiels and black said when they signed never played since the end of the season sandaza no pre season the rest are the same remember us getting beat by german pub teams in pre season's gone by with the players we used to have and we went on to win league's and cup's so way to early to hit the panic button plus would never slag the gers off when we are being watched on this page by pacific shelf 595 or somthing like that watp.

Agree1 Disagree0

Away you can and give us peace, that performance was a shocker, mccoist should resign.

Agree0 Disagree1

Trully awful performance...
probably the worst result in the history of this great club and so close to being "definitely" the worst result!!
a reality check indeed and these jokers need to get their finger out and realise they have to apply themselves in every game instead of just turning up,
well played to peterhead tho

ian

Agree0 Disagree3

Mccoist never a manager ?! Id like to see Lennon make it through all Mccosit has had to put up with, and the highest score last season in div 3 was 8-1, so yes we will score much more past the diddy teams, peterhead are favourites to win the league until the gers were in it mind

Agree1 Disagree0

Every team we play for the next 3 seasons will treat every game as a cup final. We can't expect to stroll back into the SPL and all this rubbish about scoring 10 goals in a match is just delusional.

Agree0 Disagree0

It is the worst result in the clubs history ....won the first two games so a draw is a worse resul ,on the the bright side no defeat s yet .

Agree2 Disagree1

@ ian

you're right, it is the worst result in the history of your club, after all, you've only played 3 games and that's your first draw:D

taco

Agree2 Disagree1

#4--- you dont read this page very often do you??.comments from last 2 weeks regarding scoring barrowloads of goals against these wee teams with your strikeforce( being paid thousands against defenders on under £100) and numerous fans putting money on going the whole season undefeated and scoring 100+ goals...total disrespect to your fellow teams in Division 3...JohnnyG

Agree0 Disagree1

8 full internationals played today, you have to blame the tactics.

Agree0 Disagree0

Peterhead's 2nd a joiner or a plumber
He works in the Tax office

Agree0 Disagree0

The worst result in the clubs history....

You are absolutely spot on 3 games played, 2 wins and a draw, so yes it is the worst result of The Rangers football club 2012's history.

Agree1 Disagree0

Why sandazza not start he needs a goal bye the look of him well done big kevin

Agree0 Disagree0

Must be a plumber cause he looked comfy working with s@%t. the airport bear

Agree0 Disagree0

Mccoist has not had to put up with death threats, mail bombs, or being attacked in a football ground. He is simply not a good manager he blew a 15pt lead last season and got put out of 3 cups in the the 1st month of last season before all the nonsense started. maccabhoy

Agree1 Disagree1

You'd like to see Lennon perform With the kinda stuff ally's had to go through? You serious? How about ally going through bomb threats, made to live in safe houses, threats against his life, not just through the last year, but his whole playing career? Lennon has produced the goods even with all that in the background, so don't give me that poor excuse

Agree1 Disagree1

Worst result in our history? We drew away from home to the league favourites prior to us. It was a poor result and a terrible performance but if that's our worst ever result then I assume the next time we drop a point in this league then that'll be our worst ever result? If we draw our toughest fixture of the league campaign by playing that badly, we can still expect to walk the division. Ally is a club legend but he risks blowing it if he stays in charge, unless he improves drastically, because he's not cut out for management in my opinion

Grant

Agree0 Disagree1

Yes what a history 3 games no defeats, the rest of the teams in the 3rd division are bricking themselves.

Agree0 Disagree0

Never mind the result, what about the quality of football, it was dire.

No chance 20,000 are going to turn up every fortnight in the middle of winter to watch this embarassing dross.

Agree0 Disagree0

Berwick rangers in the 60s is Rangers' worst result obviously. Calm down dear, 35 games to go.

Agree0 Disagree0

Defence didnt look interested goalie apart who showed his quality. no creativity in midfield, strikers immobile. Kyle and Sandaza look like they need to lose a stone apiece. We need to stop this long ball rubbish the only way to play winning football is to play a passing game

Agree0 Disagree0

We all love Ally but ..................

Agree0 Disagree0

Suppose it is the worse result in your history when your first two results were wins. Still 3 played and none lost should give you some confidence. Hbhoy.

Agree0 Disagree1

On a positive note it's the best league result in your history.

Agree0 Disagree1

Isn't it amazing how may OBSESSED Celtic fans still post on this site!!!
