There's some talk about January transfers, and let's be honest, potential transfers are always exciting to talk about.
McKenna and Barron on Bosman's would be great signings and I'd love to see McKenna paired with a Gough or Butcher-like partner too. I don't know if their are any available on Bosman's that would be realistic targets for us?
If we could fund a move for Shankland I think he would only get better playing in our current team and under PC. 4 or 5m for him would be a steal. Look at what we paid for Dessers! Cash plus a player or two would be an ideal situation.
If we can sell Lammers, Dessers, and Davies to fund McKenna, Barron and Shankland, that would be a great window IMO. Squad size remains the same, wages would hopefully be not too different, and our defense improves, our attack improves and we land a great up and coming Scottish player.

McKenna and Barron would both be free transfers in the summer, shankland I feel we could get for between 2-3m so it’s hot club if they feel that’s a good deal.
I’d be looking to bring shankland in in January window.
I’d be happy to go as far as £3m and Lowry on loan for next 6 months plus the whole of next season, that would be my offer.
but we’d need to move dessers on as his wage is so high think 28k a week John said.
I’d also like to move lammers on and bring Hagi back from Spain again.
That heavily improves out front line instantly.
I’d wait til summer for McKenna unless we can get him for £2m or less, whilst also getting £3m we spent on Davies that’s decent business.
The boy Barron would be a great addition by all accounts, I haven’t seen him play but everyone is raving about him so he must be special.
Pre contract and then offer them £500k chances are the fans will hound him out anyway.

Ive not seen much of Baron but others are raving about him so poss worth a punt. I like Davies think he's a good footballer. If we could offload Dessers and Lammers and get a right winger and Shankland or better that would be great business. Mckenna would be a good addition to the squad but i'm sure some have said he would never play for us, who knows.

Just a quick question. If Hearts are asking for 3m for Shankland, where are we getting that sort of money from to buy him? Unless we sell someone for the same money, or more, we are not buying Shankland for 3m in Jan. Or anyone at that price!
Just incase anyone missed it, but we only posted a profit of 250k there (and only after moving money about), so there is no way we spend any money before selling someone.
FGS, just look what's happened to Everton. This doesn't stop with them, and more are going to get crucified.

It would be nice to offload Dessers or Lammers but who is going to pay money for them on current form, Lammers looks lost and Dessers looks done. We can only hope Beale gets another club that has no DOF and comes in to buy these guys he rated so highly . I doubt it though on both counts. It would be good to get someone of the stature of Gough and Butcher but if we did get someone like that we certainly wouldn`t need McKenna though as an international, current EPL player would he not be the big commanding inspirational centre half you are looking for .

Forest defence a lot better looking with McKenna out the team, Barron and Shankland a no brainer tho, Shankland hitting his prime and would’ve been the league's top scorer for the next few years if signed and Barron the exact kind of player that could be anything he wants to be.

The fact we're on a watch list Ed001, I would say a lot. If anyone thinks this ends with English and French teams, then I think they're wrong. After seeing what's happened elsewhere, and with our previous, do you, or anyone else think, this won't resonate with our board?

No, I do understand Ed001, it's maybe you that doesn't understand where I'm coming from.
My concern is that what has happened to psg, and everton, will spread to other associations throughout Europe, with ours being one of them. We're obviously not a cash rich club, and if we can only post a profit of 250k after CL money, and bringing in our biggest amount in transfer fees, then we should not be spending 3m on any player unless we sell. We have the biggest wage bill In Scotland, and we can't just keep adding to it, If it's not bringing success.

I know the rules Paul, that's not my point.
My point is that we are only 250k in the black, and If we spend 3m, without selling anyone, we're in the red, and we can't go back to being in that position again, regardless of how "irrelevant" the Ed thinks it is.
It's not irrelevant, but If you think it is Ed, then good for you, but you're wrong.

Were not 250k in the black. Over last 10 years since going down divisions were about 80mill om the hole.
