pathetic really, i fully expected them to go through, utterly shameful losing 3 nil over 2 games even given sligo are in their season, motherwell should have been ready for the 2nd leg, i hope we don't send kelly thetre, i hope he goes somewhere else and comes back to us.

It's so pathetic its not even embarrassing anymore. Its the same every year dumped out by Welsh or Irish league sides then moan that people slag off our league and we can't get sponsorship. Shows what an amazing job rangers have done raising the coef entirely by themselves.

Not that I've got any soft spot for Well but Motherwell given size of conurbation, playing in front of 500 and dug, don't deserve team. Performance said all. A team grabbing larger area needed, say Lanarkshire Utd, Steel City, I don't know but We'll probably totally dissed most Lanarkshire and beyond.

I feel that for the Scottish league to be at a higher standard and to be more productive in Europe we have to amalgamate a lot of the teams to make the league and teams stronger, far too many teams in Scotland are not well supported and are only going through the motions season after season. Ok, I get the history behind a lot of these clubs but the reputation of the Scottish game is taking a battering every year and it’s unfortunately getting worse…. my opinion.

I do not like mwell as a club but we lost qualifier last year to malmo when we were expecting to win and the Irish club have played 20 odd games already which has obviously helped them.
Also I think people are forgetting progres as that’s the worst ever result in European football for a Scottish team and that was against us.

The issue about teams combining to form a bigger team who would hopefully be better supported and more successful has been debated on and off over the years, Dundee and Dundee United and Hibs and Hearts being the most obvious. The history of the rivalry between fans probably means it will never happen.

I speak with motherwell season ticket holders and well society members regularly and for the last 8months or so, they've all been in tandem that graham alexander has to go as their results have been in free fall for the last 6 months or so ? The continually say his tactics are abysmal ?Not just saying this because i know kevin thomson quite well, but the majority of them i speak to would take kevin thomson as their new motherwell manager in a heartbeat ? It's only a matter of time before KT gets a new manager's job and my guess would be a club in the scottish premiership ?.

Stormtrooper has got it right . Sligo are well into their season Motherwell are not . we had a, situation last year when we failed due to not being 100% prepared. I like to mock Motherwell though ?.

Doiger - agree, the proposition of merging clubs is a very hard sell.
For me, league reconstruction is a must. 42 clubs across 4 leagues for a national our size doesn't make sense.

It's upto Rangers to break them; we raised our standards against Dortmund etc. We never played to the Dortmund standards once in the spfl last season.
